This tour is excellent. Our guide, Ishmael was fantastic. He was informative, funny, and very accommodating. I wish all your guide were like him. You see many rooms and learn a lot about Spanish history on this tour. I highly recommend this tour guide.

Enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide

Javier was an excellent, friendly and approachable guide who encouraged questions. He said he was an Art History major and he was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the subject matter.

Javier was a great guide. The royal palace was amazing and he knew everything about it and more. He was so nice and he even took phitos of us in the best location that he knows. We learned a lot about the monarchy and their government.

Very unhappy

Terrible!!! I would never book a tour with trip Advisor ever again. I went on a few tour during my Europe trip and this is the only tour that gave confusing meet up location and didn’t wait for us! We got there on time but can’t find the meet up location and when we finally got there 10mi late the tour guide left without us. We ran around and even stand in front of the gate trying to find our tour group and couldn’t. This is not our home of course we are not use to the location here there should at least be a 15min wait for us but NO!! I was so sad! I didn’t get to go in the royal palace. Then I emailed trip advisor and ask for a refund but they said no refund even when I didn’t get to do the tour at all! All money lost but the saddest part was I didn’t get to go inside the royal palace. We fly out the next day. I’m going to let all my friends and family know to never book here since it’s unreliable & no help. They didn’t even give me a detail explanation of why a refund can’t be given. Not even half a refund. Book at our own risk.

The worst experience ever.

The worst experience ever. The guide was rude, no manners and extremely offensive with the guests. The equipment was a total disaster, more than half of the receivers did not work and the guide kept saying “nothing I can do”, he did not bring extra receivers just in case.

Guide was a no show, no refund

The tour was supposed to be at 9:30. I was emailed that it was changed to 10:30. I arrived at the exact spot at 10 am. And checked with all the tour groups. No Amigos tour The operator will not respond. Viator said they might let me on a layer tour ad to wait until noon when it was over. No sign of the company. At this point it was 12:30 pm. ,I had wasted my whole morning, was looking at a huge line if I wanted to repurchase tickets. I had limited time I'm Madrid so I did not get to see the attraction. Viator is REFUSGING MY REQUEST FOR A REFUND. In the past, I have booked through Viator as they have been my advocate if there had been trouble with tour operators. Think twice about booking with Viator or this tour company.

Royal Palace impressive in its size and preservation of artifacts brought into existence many, many years ago.

This tour enabled us to see the most impressive royal palace we’ve ever visited anywhere else in the world. The preservation of furniture, artwork, tapestries, chandeliers, porcelain and silver and gold ware made us feel we were living back in time.

Early skip the line access with organized tour guide with decent English

We did the royal palace tour through Go City with Maria Jesus. She spoke English fairly well, and did a very good job explaining the history and the rooms and specific pieces of art/objects. We did not tour the armory. I didn’t realize that this was not included with the tour. She explained where it was located so we could go on our own. We appreciated that she was organized and got us into the palace as early as possible. She had us waiting at the right spot to get in as soon as the doors opened. Great job Maria!

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and kept to the schedule as outlined in the tickets. This was a great tour for adults but it would be a little boring for children. All in all, I recommend this- it’s short, sweet, and shows you some beautiful parts of the palace!

Worth getting. We were one of the first few groups waiting in line to enter. Highly recommended. Our guide was detailed and knowledgeable in telling us about the palace as well as answering any questions that we had. Group was a little bigger than expected but otherwise all good with the whole experience.

Great tour, palace is a must see

Vanessa was a fantastic guide. She was super knowledgeable, friendly and very engaging. She could read our group pretty easily and knew what to place more emphasis on than other things. The palace is stunning and an absolute must see. The history surrounding the palace and the stories our guide shared were so fun and really brought the subject to life. Remember cash for the tip. We forgot to exchange money and wanted to tip Vanessa so bad because she did a fantastic job.

Jose our tour guide was great! He was knowledgeable and really cared about his guests and loved the Palace. It was one of the most beautiful things to see in Madrid!

Poor Communication

We booked the "Royal Palace of Madrid Early Access in a Small Group” and arrived early for the 8:30 start time. After nobody else arrived, we checked online to discover there was no 8:30 tour listed. Seeing there was a 10:20 tour, we returned for that one. Once again, nobody else arrived. Upon placing a phone call to Amigo Tours, we were informed that the tour departed at 9:30. Frustrating… A bonus star is awarded, because the person answering the phone was apologetic and actually quite nice.

Great tour guide, skilled at sharing history as well as funny stories, very enjoyable! The Royal Armory and Cathedral next door were worth checking out.

Beautiful Place to Visit

The Royal Palace of Madrid has just the right mixture of opulence and historical perspective. Its is a remarkably beautiful palace. Our tour guide did a wonderful job at putting you in the middle of the history of Spain, the Monarchy and the Catholic Church, explaining how it was all related, and at times, centered in this palace. Don't miss this one!

Save your time and money and book direct. Skip the line is a lie.

I'd purposly booked an early tour at 9:30am. I was told the day before that this wasn't available (to be honest i've seen a few people say the same so wonder if this is just a marketing ploy). We we're given the option of a 2:45pm tour and nothing else. We found our guide and he took us to the group enterance where the was a large queue. So much for skip the line. We stood in the blistering heat for over 45 minutes waiting to get in. I wish I'd just booked a normal pre-booked ticket (there was no queue whatsoever) and then used the video / audio tour suplied by the venue, much better value for money. Would not recommend. Sorry.

Horrible! No ticket and we’re left at the meeting point.

The most horrible experience. We bought the fast track with guided tour. We there to the meeting point early morning and were told that they do not have enough tickets for everyone and we need to call and speak with the office. They told us they can offer us at 2:45 pm and left us there without any help!! No support nor did they care about the customers experience. I’m shocked how it was handled. This incident made me don’t wanna buy any tour from Viator again!

Royal palace was a miss

We were unable to find guide, no one gave straight forward directions. We missed our entry and I was unable to reach anyone. So we never saw the Royal Palace

Vanessa was great! Good information and delivered quickly at a good pace. She kept us ahead of other groups and provide plenty of time for questions

Worth it!

After a little confusion on where to meet our guide, we met up with our group and had a nice tour through the palace. (When we called to ask for clarification on where to meet, the people who answered the phone were very helpful.) In addition to getting a guided tour, it was also nice to skip the line which was very long by the time we finished our tour.

Did not meet expectations.

I am requesting a refund. 2:45 pm start. Guide was late, but we could deal with that. However, when we got to the Royal Palace, we were not able to enter. We waiting about a half hour and left at 4:10 pm while the other were still waiting. No explanation was given. There were many other groups waiting to get in behind us.

Excellent tour of the Palace!

Beatriz with Amigo Tours was a phenomenal guide! She had been a history school teacher so shared so much interesting information and was funny, dynamic and really friendly!

Our tour experience

The palace is beautiful. It is so massive only 1% is available to tour. That’s actually plenty and each room is prettier than the last. Disappointed we could not take pictures. Wonderful knowledgeable guide who made the tour interesting.

Nice tour

Great job by this tour group. Tour guide was excellent size of group worked well. Got right in no problem. Took us a bit to find the meet up area. It is not right next to the palace as we had thought. We had a Spanish speaker with us which helped us find the Isabella square.

Fantastic tour

Excellent tour and a great way to skip the very long lines to get into the palace. Definitely see the armory on the way out and go to the church next door (free)

The Invisible Tour Guide

The day before our private tour, Amigo Tours unilaterally changed the tour time from 10 AM to 12:15. Despite our best efforts, we did not get to the meeting point until 12:25. The guide was not there. At around 12:40, we found a guide with an Amigo Tours sign who was working that day for another tour company. She looked around and did not see an Amigo Tours guide. We tried to reach Amigo Tours on Whats App, but Amigo Tours was not reachable that way, so we had to research how to place an international call to Amigo Tours. We finally reached Amigo Tours at 12:58. The office said the guide had already left because the guide was unable to find us or reach us by phone. Our phone showed no missed calls. We asked for a refund by email; the company declined, saying that the guide stayed until 13:00, which is inconsistent with what the office told us when we called them. We provided screenshots of our phone logs, but Amigo Tours continued to assert that their guide was there until 13:00. If the guide was there, he or she was not visible. During our 13-day trip to Spain and Portugal, we booked 12 activities with Viator.com. This was the only one where the tour company changed the time without our consent or where we had trouble finding the guide.

Amazing tour!

Guide was excellent, he explained everything so clearly and gave us all the information on the Royal Palace. We had a small group of 7 people which was fabulous.

Poor customer experience

One question...why would a tour company let you book a tour for an attraction that was closed? They notified me the morning of after sending multiple reminders of the tour and asking for a review. Poor service and of course it took several days to issue a refund. Using the float? Not a recommended. I have had good experience with Viatour in the past, but this jas put me off. Unfortunately cannot recommend.
