Retiro Park Walking Tour in Madrid

Excellent and Engaging learning experience

We felt that Rocio had a very engaging manner in which She explained the history and the Park. She made it fun and interesting which makes it easier to remember the facts, people, dates… etc

Beautiful park!

The park is beautiful and we learned a lot. Our guide had a heavy accent but we were able to understand most of what he said. He also made some nice recommendations for the rest of our trip. Tour definitely worth the time.

Great tour of El Retiro Park

Amanda was awesome! Great tour guide! She is friendly and full of knowledge about the park and city's history.

Retiro is approx. 120 hectares, so highly recommend doing this tour.

Patricia was very knowledgeable about the history of the park, and took us directly to the points of interest. She was attentive to our questions, and even did a short coffee stop when we asked for one.

A Magical Morning

Pablo shared his passion for the park with us as well as his knowledge of the history of the area. Our time with him in the park was a Madrid highlight.

Horrible

We booked English language tour for Friday 29/09/2023 and paid €18 for 2 people. We paid €10 for taxi to get to the meeting point. But when we got there the tour guide said it's only in Spanish. Waste of time and our money. Horrible experience. I won't book anything else through trip advisor.

El Retiro Park

Met our guide at 10 am. We had a great tour learning about the park and its history. I enjoyed seeing the trees and gardens. Maybe we will spend some more time on the far end of the park. Our tour guide was fluent in English, and answered all of questions.

Good way to see in limited time

Good tour if you have limited time to just see the highlights of the park. Unfortunately crystal palace was closed.

Well worth the tour

Our guide Andrea was great. She was very informative and spoke clearly and loud enough for all to hear. She thoroughly enjoyed what she was doing and appreciated her knowledge and thoroughness.

Great park with a lot of history

I booked two tours with this company and had a great experiencie. This tour is great! It’s amazing to see and learn that a modern place like this has a lot of history. If you like walking tours, this is a great one. Tip: if you are not interested on doing the tapas tasting, you can book this tour and the Palace tour separately, this helped me save time.

Rocio was very knowledgeable of the Park’s areas - I enjoyed her explanations. The Park is beautiful and it also have a lot of historic areas.

Even if you’ve been to the park already, you haven’t really seen it until you take this tour!

This tour was great from beginning to end. Not only was our guide, David, deeply well-versed in the history of the park, Madrid, and Spain, his appreciation for the park was evident from start to finish. The pace of the tour was great, and David was kind and patient, and he answered all our questions. I highly recommend this tour.

An interesting tour

Benito was an excellent guide through Retiro Park. It’s a real gem. He provided the interesting history of the creation and usage of the park. Benito answered questions we had and was always courteous, friendly and professional. Highly recommended.

Worth it ...

Great tour with excellent information. Patricia was excellent tour guide (English speaking) and pointing out great pieces of information that would've otherwise been missed.

Knowledgeable guide, very approachable!

Our tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and very open to questions about the Retiro — or anything at all about Madrid. He made the tour interesting and the time went surprisingly quickly.

Lovely park but disappointing tour.

The park was lovely but the tour was a little disappointing. The guide was very pleasant but he kept turning his head away when talking, looking rather at the thing he was describing rather than his visitors, which made it difficult to hear what he was saying.

Wrong expectations!!!

They told me I could leave my luggage at the bus, but there was no bus!! I had to forfeit the tour because I was not going to be carrying my luggage all over the place. I asked the tour operator for a refund, but they told me I had to ask Viator. They only shift blame to one another

Amazing wet walk around the park the tour guide was brilliant and knew there facts. Would recommend to other tourist

Retiro Park is beautiful, but the tour was terrible

This was the worst tour I’ve ever been on. The tour guide spoke in both Spanish and English, but most of her talking was to the Spanish group. The English speaking part of the group were left out in the hot sun while she was talking to the others. The highlight of the park is the Crystal Palace,but she spent hardly any time there. Certainly not enough time to take photographs. When the tour was done, I went back to the Crystal Palace on my own, as well as some of the other places in the park. Refund!

Didn't meet my expectations

He didn't show much empathy. Although it demonstrated good professionalism, it did not encourage the participation of tourists. She was also accompanied by an intern and they were talking to each other.

Guided tour of the Queen's Park. It's a very inexpensive little tour. Less than ten euros. We learn lots of things. A lot of information. Anecdotes and details.

Cheguei atrasada

Chegamos 5 minutos depois e o guia não estava mais lá. Resumindo cheguei atrasada e culpa foi minha, se eu tivesse chegado no horário talvez não teria problemas mas Não nos ligaram como de costume e não mandaram mensagem pelo app Viator para dizer como localizar o guia. Não conseguimos participar do passeio.

A real green lung within the capital

Immensely large, this park in the city center is superbly maintained and quickly allows you to forget the noise and nuisances of the nearby city and undoubtedly brings serenity to Madrid residents. Superb spots like the small lake with its superb monument, the crystal palace, the rose garden without forgetting the superb colors of the thousands of trees during this autumn season make this park an essential place to visit.

Lots of green and beauty

Beautiful and well-kept park, within the city and close to the Prado Museum. Beautiful, careful, trees and birds, Beautiful Crystal Palace. For resting, hiking or picnicking.

LOVELY

Beautiful park, walking along the lake with all the chalets around and maybe having a beer is a unique experience, don't skip this visit

Un precioso paseo interesante por el Retiro

Muy buen paseo por gran parte del Retiro. JoseMi nos contó mucha historia de España, Madrid y del Retiro. Muy interesante todo. José es un chico muy simpatico y buen narrador. Ha sido una mañana de domingo estupenda!

Lindo Paseo familiar

Es un lugar obligado en una visita a Madrid, donde uno puede dedicar un par de horas al descanso y a caminar con mucha calma. Hay lugares interesantes dentro del parque. También puede ir gente con alguna capacidad especial

Magnifica atmosfera

Un parco magnifico, in autunno la natura regala colori intensi, si crea una atmosferica magnifica. Se si viene a Madrid, non si può perdere!!

Muito bom.

A guia Rocío é bastante profissional e parece conhecer bem o Parque e a cidade de Madri. O encontro foi no local marcado mas tive um pouco de dificuldade em ver a placa de identificação, achei um pouco pequena. O passeio no Parque, que é muito bonito, foi excelente, Rocío trouxe muitas informações interessantes. Não é cansativo, considero bem acessível.

Visita al retiro

Una visita guiada muy interesante y recomendable para conocer todos los recobecos de este parque. Pena que el día estaba frío pero merece la pena hacer esta visita

Excelente doble visita guiada por el parque del Retiro y el museo del Prado.

Como menciono en el título, escogí la doble visita guiada por el parque y el museo (que solo se ofrece en la página web de la compañía) y la experiencia no pudo ser mejor. La primera vez que visité el Retiro allá por el 2017 fue sin guía y hasta me dio cierto miedo recorrerlo por la noche. Esta vez, todo fue diferente. Es mucho mejor tener a un guía que te explique los detalles de cómo se construyó el parque y todo lo que alberga en su interior. La visita por el museo fue intensa pero muy didáctica. Yo no entiendo nada de pintura y de no ser por David, el guía, me habría perdido algunas obras principales. Además, hizo el recorrido en orden cronológico para que observáramos las diferencias entre los estilos de un siglo a otro. Obviamente, la visita no puede abarcar todos la galería (además que personalmente lo encontraría apabullante), pero lo que vi, me gustó mucho. En cuanto a David, demostró muchos conocimientos y preparación en ambos tours. Un 10 para él.

Absolutamente todo es divino, tuvimos una guía estupenda, Rocio, disfrutamos del Retiro y de su historia
