Very disappointed

Very disappointed. The location description was not clear with the map and the verbiage leading to different meeting locations for our group and our guide. The communication platform did not enable us to connect with our guide until each of us abandoned our search for the other. Viator has refused a refund despite our repeated requests.

Patricia is AMAZING

Patricia was absolutely amazing! She was fantastic with our young children. She was super knowledgeable about the history of the city as well as fun little sights and attractions for our young children. We highly recommend Patricia to guide you through the beautiful city of Madrid!!

Wonderful tour

Marianissa is special. She took me under her wing and took me around so many little interesting spots in Madrid. Palaces, the Cathedral, markets and even a visit to a little specialist mushroom tapas bar. She was so engaging and a lot of fun. The time flew by. Thank you Marianissa

Eva was terrific

Eva was great. Her English is excellent and she was very knowledgeable. She told us interesting stories everywhere we went, about the history and the personalities of the city. It was very enjoyable and we would recommend her to anyone.

Great guide and fast response from app.

We have been to Madrid many times and Victor was able to show us part of Madrid we have not seen and did not know existed. He explained all the small details. He was warm and we did not feel rushed and my wife and I had a wonderful time and will recommend Victor to all those we are new and old to Madrid.

Excellent Walking Tour

We had an excellent 90 minute Madrid “kickstart” walking tour with Julián. He was punctual, friendly, spoke excellent English and was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the city. He also showed us little places off the tourist beaten track and made some great recommendations for places to eat. I would throughly recommend Julián and With Locals to anyone looking for a private guide in Madrid.

Eva Knows (and loves) Madrid

Eva gave the two of us a great two hour tour of Madrid's high points. She was informed, personable and spoke very good (and understandable) English. Eva's an excellent tour guide and a fun person!

Great way to see the city and get up to speed on Spanish history

Carmen was a great guide with lots of historical and local knowledge! We covered lots of ground, stopped for drinks and tapas, and saw some sights we would’ve completely missed without a guide.

Excellent. Great trip with Eva. First trip and had to reschedule last minute (on our side not hers)…. She was so understanding and rescheduled later so convenient for us…. Great job explaining the history of Madrid and really helped us navigate the fun places which was wonderful. Highly recommend.

Madrid Walking Tour

We really enjoyed our tour with Eva. It was a great way to start our time in Madrid, and she provided lots of interesting and useful information. She gave us helpful recommendations for things to do and places to go while we were in town, and took great pictures of us to help us preserve our memories.

Inspiring with room for improvement

First visit to Madrid. First Tour of the trip. Very worthwhile. Mateo was knowledgeable and pleasant. Could have been more engaging with conversation. But did an excellent job describing the various landmarks and “hidden gems”. The local tapa bar was well received and would have been missed by most locals.

Family Walking Tour of Madrid

Hands down this tour was the highlight of our time in Madrid. Perfect combo of history, trivia, Spanish culture, and travelers tips. Our boys (aged 11 and 8) were captivated and can’t stop talking about Patricia. Similarly, my husband and I walked away having fallen further in love with Madrid. Loved this tour so much!

Informative and customized tour from Julian

Julián did a family friendly tour that was both informative and fun. He customized it to our taste. We got to try some ham, chocolate, and my kids loved seeing the nuns (or lack of seeing the nuns), and getting their delicious cookies. He even shared the famous story of Raton Perez, which we are still looking for a book in English for.

Edgard was an amazing guide. His knowledge and personality made this a must do event. Loved the stories and the recommendations he suggested. If you are into photography, he is the local guide for you. Thanks Edgard, you made our Madrid trip truly memorable!

First time in Madrid/Spain/Europe

Great tour today with my guide Dawinson. Being my first time in Madrid/Spain/Europe, he really looked after me. His English was excellent and his knowledge of past and present histories was exceptional. At the end of the tour he took me to a wonderful restaurant for tapas and cold beer. Great way to finish 3 hours and 15km of walking and learning. Highly recommended.

My family did a walking tour with Victor on January 25 2024, it started at 10:00 am and was to be a 3 hour tour, we had such a great time with Victor that the tour stretched out to 4 hours. fabulous Old Madrid

Our guide was Edgard and he was excellent. We were rained out half way through the tour and choose to abort the tour. Edgard went out of his way to schedule some time with us on another day to ensure our entire tour was completed. Edgard shared history in a relatable manner and answered all our questions. Patrica was a fantastic guide. She was really enthusiastic, engaging and very knowledgeable. She is a real local and it shows. She also managed to keep all of our children interested and entertained throughout which was no mean feat! Overall a really enjoyable experience.

Highlight of our time in Madrid

Julian was the perfect tour guide for our group (a couple who are interested in history and two small children who are interested in eating sweets, and seeing unique and interesting sights :)). He was patient and kind with everyone and really knows his stuff, we learned a lot and had a fun and relaxing time doing so. I would highly recommend tours with Julian to anyone coming to Madrid.

Perfect first visit tour

Edgard was a fantastic guide! I felt like we got to see the whole city and not just the super touristy places and learned a lot about the history. My friend and I really enjoyed his enthusiasm and seeing all the sites. It is a good tour to do for you first visit. Because of edgard i want to come back and do all the things he recommended that I didn’t have time to do on this trip

Great intro to Madrid for families!

We are two adults and 3 children ages 5, 7, 9 years. We had just arrived that morning, full of energy from spending the night on the plane (read: sarcasm!). I pitied Elena for having the task of touring with our family and keeping up with our sleep-deprived children. She was amazing! She is warm and easy to talk to - the kids asked if she was a friend of mine. Haha. She also gently but firmly kept them in line while showing them the fun side of Madrid. We walked for a few hours and were treated to facts and history of Madrid, sprinkled in with rests focused around delicious snacks. One of the highlights of the trip for the kids!

Mateo was a great guide… I saw much more than if I would have explored on my own. It was worth every penny and the guide speaks great English so he is easy to understand.

One day to spend in Madrid

I had an afternoon to spend in Madrid to see the sites and so very happy that I selected this walking tour. I was so very lucky to have Mateo as my guide. He was a great mix of sharing the historical perspective with more current interests. I would highly recommend Mateo.

Pure magic!

Elena is pure magic with children! Don’t get me wrong, she’s an incredible guide with adults as well, but she managed to hold the rapt attention of our twin nine year olds for six hours, which is no small feat. She knew just the right activities to encourage their participation and engaged with them in an intelligent, thoughtful, and energetic manner. As a former educator, I definitely have high standards when it comes to how adult educators interact with children, and Elena exceeded all those expectations. My daughters even took to running up to Elena to hold her hand as we were walking along the tour. She skillfully made the information engaging for both the adults and the children in the group and curated excellent tours for us that combined education and humor! I walked away grateful for her expert guidance and curated choices, feeling like I learned infinitely more about the city from our few hours together. We would recommend her HIGHLY to any of our friends contemplating travel to Madrid! She is a gem!

An immersive historical tour

Had a fascinating tour with Julian. Met at the statue of Isabella ll which is by a market and the opera house. Julian explained the history of the area and we walked past the opera house where he pointed out bullet holes from the Spanish Civil War. Visited the Cathedral near the Royal Palace and up Calle Mayor where there are numerous old palaces that have been converted to other purposes. We passed the oldest restaurant in the world (1775) and we were able to go inside their kitchen. We visited old Moorish ruins, he showed us a street where there are old traditional, non-tourist restaurants and then took us to a cafe for a drink and shrimp in garlic sauce. Yum! Julian was very knowledgeable and personable and was willing to talk about his own experiences when prompted.

Fabulous experience - Madrid City tour with Maria Augusta

Exploring the wonderful city of Madrid with Maria was an experience we will not forget. Knowledgeable, engaging and funny, Maria packed the 3 hour tour with history, information and anecdotes - the time just flew by and left us wanting more! A History Lesson on Madrid

Upon arriving in Madrid we went on a walking tour of the old city of Madrid. Our guide Edgar met us outside the Opera house and proceeded to take us to the Palace, Plaza Mayor, Plaza de Sol, and other landmarks. Edgar was a wealth of knowledge and in fact sometimes the information was a bit overwhelming. Our walk concluded in some of the nearby neighborhoods and that was our favorite part of the day

Informative and fun walking tour with Julio Cesar

This was our 1st tour during our family trip to Spain - having arrived in Madrid just 4 hours before the tour. The walking tour with Julio Cesar was a fantastic introduction to Madrid. He was engaging, well-informed and clearly passionate about Madrid. The tour was a great introduction to the key neighbourhoods in the city, key landmarks, and great pointers for how best to explore the city (restaurants, music, etc). On top of that, Julio Cesar is a great photographer and took some great family pictures in key spots! Highly recommended!

Great tour of Madrid

Víctor was such a great guide and very accommodating for my parents and I. It was very hot and he made sure our day wasn’t tiring at all. Learned a lot of history about Madrid and had a great time in general. Really a must do when in Madrid!

Excellent Tour!

Julian was an excellent guide. Super professional and very knowledgeable. It was 7 of us and he was patient and we went at our own speed. It was an extremely hot day in Madrid but we powered through and had such a great tour and time.

Wonderful tour of Madrid with kids

We are so grateful to Patricia for making our tour of Madrid so, so, so special. She really went above and beyond to help make the day so special. She helped us reschedule to avoid having to do a walking tour with kids on a 100 + degree day. It made all the difference in the world. She was so great engaging all our kids (aged 5, 7, 8, 10 and 10). They all wanted to take photos with her at the end of the tour. At dinner tonight the kids were still reciting all the cool facts they learned. Patricia even brought us sweet gifts. She really cares about making the experience great and we feel lucky to have found her. Will definitely be happy to do another tour with Patricia. Cannot recommend her highly enough.

Informative, person and fascinating private tour

Lovely guide and fascinating historical context. Our guide really knew his stuff. Hidden gems is all part of the tour and we discovered things we would not have done if walking independently with a guide book. with a guide you just go with the flow and can spend time drinking it all in rather than navigating the whole time. Excellent. Would recommend.

Seeing Madrid through the eyes of a local was a great experience!

It was the 1st time we try a tour with a private guide, and it was simply amazing. Highly recommended. It was definitely the highlight of our trip to Madrid and we fell in love with Madrid after this tour. Our tour guide Dawi was great: very knowledgeable, many stories to share, polite and fun. He made the tour very interesting and we came to know and visit things that for sure we wouldn’t have done had we been on our own. We didn’t feel the 3 hours passing!

One day in Madrid… perfect way to spend it

We had one day in Madrid and I am so happy I booked this tour with Maria. She took us throughout the historic old city center. We learned about the history of Madrid and she showed us little corners of the old town that we would have walked right by. She was so knowledgeable, kind and fun to spend a few hours with. Would definitely book with her again!

We had a wonderful tour with Carmen! You could not ask for a better guide to show you Madrid. She is passionate about her city: its history, art, culture (and food!) And she shares all this with you in a lively, entertaining way. We saw all the highlights, as well as some places and things we would not have discovered on our own. Carmen also gave us great restaurant recommendations and went out of her way to help us see a wonderful flamenco show. Great fun in area around the Madrid Opera

It was a charming tour. By an amazing coincidence, we managed to get to the palace just as the king was arriving for a meeting! We saw the horse guards in all their glory too. We were entranced by the cathedral by the place as well. A great tour and Matteo was a wonderful guide.
