excellent Tour by the local company

Tre tour by the local company was fantastic but your office kept on telling me the wrong date and time. And Viator even sent me the voucher for the incorrect date and time. You booked me on Saturday with Naturanda and they could not switch it to Sunday as I had originally booked with Viator. So we had to do Saturday which made for a very hectic day. Even through numerous emails with Viator costumer service your company kept on telling me it was Sunday when in fact it was Saturday. I was dissatisfied with the communication from your office

Great tour

Tour operator changed time of tour. Even though the changes were announced with enough anticipation; it entailed me having to reschedule other activities. The guide (Martha) was very good, she is a great guide that is very passionate with what she does, but needs to work a bit more on her English skills….. i would recommend this tour

Very informative

Wonderful tour Marta was an amazing, funny and knowledgeable tour guide. This is great way to see a lot a Madrid on foot.

Brief but Informative

The tour is brief, but quite informative - had hoped for a longer exploration of the art works at El Prado and lesser time viewing the old, unrestored rooms of the Royal Palace.

Not happy

Tour was good but very high paced, everyone in the group was gasping for air on the walk from the Palace to Prado as the lady tour guide was not very willing to wait for anyone…would not recommend if you cannot walk super fast and the lady tour guide English was very hard to understand.

This is why I rarely do big group tours

The tour got off to a bad start with the booking material advising to be on time as latecomers would be left behind. Five minutes after the tour was supposed to start we were told we were waiting for a couple who were two minutes away, they did not arrive for another fifteen minutes. The Guide should turn off her microphone when she isn’t speaking to the group, I did not appreciate the additional conversations that were not relevant to me nor could I understand. This was not a truly skip the line tour. We stood waiting in line at both the Palace and the Prado (only about 10mins each but this is still not skipping a line) while the Guide went to buy the tickets which the documents suggest we should collect from the tour office before the tour! The time of the tour was also put back an hour from when we booked with the provided explanation being due to the usual time slot for the palace being full. How did one know this when the tickets were only purchased by the guide on the day?it would also be useful to provide important information/advice such as to only bring small bags as they will not be allowed in either the Palace or Prado and will need to be checked in otherwise and no photos allowed in the Prado. The tour went well overtime due to the Guide not managing to keep the group together. She did not provide clear instructions as to when/where people should go to toilets, get food and drinks etc and then she often marched on ahead at a pace not suitable to several members of the group which meant she was talking about things not all the group could see and they would also get lost, which delayed the tour further. Many of the audio devices stopped working during the tour but there were not enough replacements available and then when inside the Prado and there were still exhibits to see, all of the devices stopped working at the same time which the Guide explained was because the tour went overtime! Also the Guide should refrain from making general statements that may annoy her wide range of guests, such as; when walking past the Four Seasons hotel she said “who needs the Four Seasons it is too expensive, no one needs the Four Seasons”. I regularly stay at a Four Seasons hotel and I am sure they would not refer any guests to your tours if they heard this. Despite these small but important criticisms the Guide was very knowledgable, the Palace, Prado and walking your all very interesting.

Very short!

I think the museum needs to manage visitor numbers a bit better, the place was absolutely packed, with very little time to enjoy any of the exhibits before another group arrived.

Needed improvement

Unfortunately this was not one of the better tours I have been on. There were too many people in our group. We moved much too quickly, and the microphone system broke down. On a positive note, our guide did an excellent job of explaining the viewed art during the Prada portion of the tour.

A must see places.

Laura, our guide, was wonderful. Very knowledgeable, accommodating, and great English. Just enough time for both critical spots to visit in Madrid.

Good

The tour amazing, but we walk from the palace to the museum which should be include in the price instead to walk 45 minutes, at the end of the tour we was exhausted and didn't enjoy the museum as well

Highly recommended company and guide

We did this tour with a small group of 6 art and history nerds. Or guide Jose was knowledgeable, warm, and fun. His tour of the Prado was wonderful and the time we spent in the Palace was unforgettable.

Worth It

Both the palace and the Prado were made better by having such a great tour guide. Marta was very funny and welcoming!

Great Beauty in Palace

Amazingly extravagant yet beauty in the Royal Palace. I must see on how governments led by the monarchy live and now are museums for the rest of us to now view.

Nice tour……BUT

I would give our guide Marta a 5 but the reason I’m giving a 3 is our tour time was changed from 9:30 to 11:45 am the day before . Yes, things happen, but this affected our entire day. After our tour of the Royal Palace, we had to kill over an hour before the Prado tour, walking around in the heat of the day. Marta did her best to find shady spots to walk. Also, Viator needs to invest some money and get better headsets. If Marta was up ahead of the group or turned her head, we could not hear her. Would also be better if tour group was limited to 15 or less. Too many people to keep track of. Overall, tour was very good.

Great tour!

Marta was a knowledgeable and friendly guide with a wealth of information. The places are busy and crowded, but she kept us together and provided us with valuable information about the sights. Seeing both sights and the walk in between make for a long day, but it was well worth it.

Racing tour

Overall, it was okay BUT: the guide walked very fast and did not wait for the eldery people in the group. Her english was fonctionnal but she is not fully fluent. It was not a walk to Prado, it was a RACE!

Great combo

Enjoyed this combined tour, nice group of people and easy to understand both guides. The palace tour was in the morning, Prado in the afternoon which was a little more busy due to famous/interesting artwork. Would do this one again!

Such a disappointment

This was such a disappointment. First the tour was supposed to start at 9:45 but the day before they told us it was moved to 11:30. It wasn't ideal but we went with it as they said it had to do with getting palace tickets. When we got to the meeting point a little before the start time, they were not ready to go. The audio equipment was still being tested and a lot of it didn't work so they spent more time fixing it. The earbuds they gave us for the audio equipment was reused which was gross. We started walking to the palace (it was a large group not a small group) the guide started to talk in his microphone and still it didn't work. We had to wait for someone from the office to come and trade it out. Finally we got to the Royal Palace and started our tour. The guide sounded bored and like he wasn't that excited to be there. He told us very few interesting details about what we were seeing - we had to look up facts on google to learn more. After the palace we started a 1 hour walk to the Prado museum. I didn't understand this was a walking tour and my family (7 of us of all ages) was bored and hungry. We were not allowed to stop for food even though the tour went straight through lunch. When we to the Prado we asked the guide to give us our museum tickets and we turned in our audio equipment. We strolled through the Prado on our own, but were so hungry that we didn't really get the full experience. The only good thing is we did get to see the palace and the Prado which were both beautiful. But we could have done this on our own and had a better experience.

Good tour in very crowded palace

The tour of the palace was very crowded, very difficult to keep the group together and very difficult to see the art, it was like herding cattle. I would definitely do a private or small group tour if you want a better experience. The Prado was much better, less crowded, I think that was the time of day, 3 pm. Our guide, Marta, did her best to keep us entertained, she has great knowledge and a great persy. It is a vast amount of walking as well, unless you opt to take a cab and meet up again at the Prado.

History lessons made fun!

Our guide was so incredible, she explained the history of the palace and the different dynasty’s making history come to life. The real joy was learning about all the amazing art at the Prado museum!

Museum good bit wanted more

Our palace tour was cancelled due to visitors. We were promised a refund. Had issues with the headsets because another group was too close and their guide was in our headsets. Museum tour was so informative but short. Since the first part of our tour was canceled it would have been nice to have the museum extended.

Only go if you have strong interest in art history

The palace was closed so we were offered the Royal Collections as a substitute. Alternative was partial refund. The Collections were okay but we felt the tour dragged. We did not need to be there so long. The walking tour to Prada was just okay. The presentation was relatively monotone and the guide simply was not engaging. Prada museum is very nice. I guess we did not know what to expect. Our guide took us to see a very limited number of paintings and tapestries and gave a ton of detail. For someone looking for an art history tour I could imagine this would be pleasant. But it was too much. I would rather have seen more of museum with a small amount of information on various objects rather than the extensive presentation on few objects. I do not think me and my teenagers were the target audience for this tour. Finally, for a tour in English, our guide’s language proficiency was not great.

Prado

Our guide Andrea was the best. She was full of information and enthusiastic about her knowledge. She kept us on her toes with fun facts and jokes. Highly recommend this way to se the highlights of the Prado.

Really enjoyed this tour. Everyone in the family enjoyed it. Long day and lots of walking. But the length was good.

Absolutely must to put in your Spain visit itinerary

It was a good decision to buy this tour for our sons, that are 21 years old. They really enjoyed the guide, who was very professional and knowledgeable, Most impressive part of a tour was to see the Royal apartments, and paintings in Prado. My son, Who experienced visits to the best museums in the world, was very impressed with Velasquez and Goya paintings. Definitely recommend!

Prado and Royal Palace

Very informative tours of the Prado museum and the Royal Palace. Marta was a great tour guide, she was very knowledgeable and friendly with a great sense of humor and did well with a large group of diverse ages.

Good prices tour

The guides were terrific and had a lot of great information. The organization was a bit chaotic but it all worked out. Definitely worth the money being able to skip the line and also a lively walking tour between the two sights.

Amazing tour of The palace and Prado

The tour was amazing! Marta explained the history of the kings and queens of Spain in much detail. The Prado also was a wonderful experience ! Again, Marta chose excellent paintings to share with us in detail!

Excellent tour. Very informative. The guide was helpful in walking us through prominent works in Prado which helped optimize our time.

Morning guided historical tour with The Prado

Marta was an excellent guide - she was friendly, funny and highly knowledgeable about the history of Madrid and the art works we viewed at The Prado. Unfortunately we weren’t able to visit The Palace as The King was in residence. Thank you Marta 🙏 . We loved every minute!

Fun and professional tour despite Palace being closed unexpectedly

This tour from Naturando was great despite a last minute need to change the itinerary. Their communication was great throughout the process and they provided a reasonable refund for the palace tour when a last minute government event caused the palace to be closed for two days. We ended up still doing a walking tour and guided tour of the Prado Museum. The guide was very friendly, easy to understand (English), and knowledgeable. Again, communication was great throughout and their office was easy to find on where we were to meet. I would recommend this group and this tour! We toured the Prado for quite a while and despite loving art, I had honestly seen enough classical, mostly religious, artwork for one day. If we had also toured the palace earlier, that might have been too much art and interior decor for me...If that had been the case, we probably would have preferred more walking tour around Madrid. That is just me and the co-worker I was with, but figured I'd share.

Very nice, a must do

You need to meet at their office in the starting point. The tour goes into the museum with a chance for a bathroom break upon entry. The walking from the palace to the Prado museum was a very nice walking tour of main points in the downtown, ends in prado where u can stay longer upon finishing. We finished around 2:30 pm. Get a snack that u can eat in the walking outside part between the palace & museum & water. The office is at the point of meeting given. I’ll try to upload a pic of the entrance.

Long wait before attraction!

Our tour guide Laura was excellent giving us updates and explaining what we see with amazing knowledge. The problem was with the large group and the fact that few people were late so all 25 people had to wait half an hour for them! Also the fact that bathrooms were inside the attraction so there was long line up contributed to even more waiting. The Royal Palace was magnificent and Musem Prada was huge and worth of seeing. I just would not recommend those two attractions the same day as it was more then 5 hours ( mostly standing)

Marta is a great Prado tour guide.

Marta was a great guide. She made our visit to the Prado excellent. She is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Communication from the tour operator was not good. We were told to be at their office at 9:45. When we arrived they told us 11:30. We were not notified. That is not acceptable.

Great experience

Guide had great grasp of history with sense of humor to keep our attention well. It was quite a walk though between Royal Palace and Prada. We perhaps should have done on different days or had a shuttle.

Wonderful And Amazing!

Marta was simply put AMAZING!! She guided us through a Fantastic Tour. I would give her 10 stars if I could. She made the Palace come to life! History, and humor all once.

Palacio Mágico

The Royal Palace and all of its splendors! Our tour guide Marta was exceptional! Her knowledge on the history of the royals was extensive and very helpful!

Not a good experience

Meeting place was confusing and didn’t write clearly (Pl means Plaza, who would know that? ) Royal Palace tour was cancelled, refunded just over 1/3 of my payment, instead of 1/2 they were promised.

Fantastic tour

Our guide, Amu, was extremely knowledgeable and provided great details and history both at the Royal Palace and the Prado. And the walking tour was an added treat.

Great tour!

Marta was great! Very informative and answered all questions. Gave us bits of historical information that you would not typically see in a history book

Not too accommodating

The tour guide did not accommodate slower individuals in the way to the Palace and we could not hear the audio. The pickup point was difficult to find.
