Our guide Benny was knowledgeable but also kind and attentive to questions. He was fantastic. The Palace itself might be the grandest ever built with it’s attention to details, particularly the ceilings. A must see!

A Splendid In- Depth Tour of the Royal Palace

The tour of the Royal Palace of Madrid was undeniably splendid! The grandeur and opulence of the palace reminds one of the Chateau Versailles in Paris, this is obviously its larger version. It was entirely more elaborately explained by our awesome tour guide, the intricacies of the lives of the Royal families who lived there, allowing an in depth view of the inhabitants of the palace.

Ishmael, our guide, did a great job in a crowded enviroment to point us to interesting bits. So much to see not enough brain space :)

Have Royalty will travel

Only sons could be king and one generation didn't provide a son, so they had to get royalty from the French

Very average tour

It's presented as a 90min experience, but in reality it took us about 45mins from when we were asked to show up and check in to actually get into the palace to start the tour. So you're only really paying for a 45min tour. It was worth it to skip the line and get a bit of the background of what you're looking at. Maybe our guide was having a bad day but he was very monotone and didn't seem to engage with anyone in the large group (of around 30ppl). He would explain a tiny room in the palace when the group weren't able to see what he was talking about cos he'd moved into a smaller room that everyone didn't fit in. He may also be new and just needs to learn how to engage more and be conscious of large groups.

First tour in Madrid.

Isabel was a delight. She was knowledgeable, interesting and very nice. I recommend this tour and especially Isabel.

June tour

Ishmael was a good historian and made the tour interesting. The best part was we didn’t have to stand in line and it wasn’t crowded in the morning.

Ok

We have taken Viator tours all around the world and have had many great experiences. This particular tour was a bit disappointing it was ok but not great. The tour guide was just boring and very academic. Not a great small talk person which is always fun and spices up the experience.

Great tour-but you can’t hear it

Ishmael was a good guide- very knowledgeable and personable. I wish we could have heard more of what he had to say- the headsets were not good at all! Several group members had sets that didn’t work (tour time was taken up replacing multiple sets) and the sound quality was very poor during the tour. One slight change would have made a big difference!

Bad experience

We got offered Guided tour and Tapas at the end. Tour was great and at the end nobody knew about the tapas. that add to the total cost about 40 Euros. So total tour was 208 Eur. Not recommended, if you go straight to the place is cheaper.

Don't miss this royal gem!

Wonderful tour of the royal palace with a "Personal guide" and skip the line entry. Brief and informative explanation of the rooms and royals enhanced our visit. Didn't feel rushed, plenty of photo opportunities. Audio headsets provided aided hearing in a busy venue. Don't miss the royal armory and a visit to the cathedral. Highly recommend this tour.

Highly Recommend the Palace Tour & Tapas

Ricio was outstanding and provided exceptional information to make the tour memorable. She was very good. The tapas after was also great just remember to order only wine if choose another type of alcoholic drink there will be an additional fee. Loved the experience!!

The paintings and the other objects were fantastic. The history of the palace and the scale of the building truly amazing.

Lidia was great! Very knowledgeable and patient. Really took her time to explain the history behind the royal palace and other facts. After the tour she made additional recommendations so we could continue exploring. For our first time using Viator, it was a great start! Highly recommend her!

Detailed tour of the palace

We were met with Vanessa at another location. Then we were ushered to the palace with a 5 mins walk. Everything was executed with a proper system. The palace is beautiful and the guide was informative. We enjoyed ourselves through out the whole tour. Will definitely recommend this tour group if anyone is interested.

Our tour guide Isabel was absolutely incredible. She was informative, entertaining, efficient and so personal with her delivery, she just made us feel at home as if we were touring a site with our cousin. She is a gem!

Magnificent visit to Palacio Real

The entire tour was incredible and Ishmael was a terrific guide. He was punctual and smart- got us in line as the first group of the day! We would have loved to have seen all 3400 rooms but we suppose the King didn’t like us that much. Ishmael was a treasure trove of knowledge about absolutely everything. He could fill in details. A remarkable experience we would recommend for any visitor to Madrid. Great job selecting a meeting place a block away from the palace- gave us a chance to all get together before getting in line for the tour. GREAT JOB TO ALL

History and humour in the palace

Our guide Martin managed a diverse group with great aplomb and gave us a lot of wonderful information in a witty and interesting way. He interspersed history with anecdote and a touch of humour. My daughter and I revelled in his delivery. Muchas gracias!

A knowledgeable guide with a sense of humor

Our guide was very knowledgeable with humor thrown in. Made for a very enjoyable experience. Do both the royal treasure and the palace. The history that was presented in the treasury was very interesting.

The palace was beautiful and Ishmael was a great guide. This tour allowed us to skip a long line and learn the history of the palace.

Outstanding guided tour

This was one of the most enjoyable tours of my trip to Spain and France. I was unfortunately in a wheelchair with a broken leg , yet I was well accommodated in this tour. Tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable and organized. He communicated very well and kept our large group together and moving through the palace at a good pace. He provided the right amount of detail and insight into each room to keep us interested.

Smart and fun

Rocio made the trip through the palace pleasant and interesting. She knows her stuff, and helped the group navigate the crowds in a smart way. I would recommend her for future tours.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. The guide never showed up at the meeting point. We showed up 20 minutes in advance and waited for more than 40 minutes. We contacted the tour operator and they said to meet at a different point. They never showed up or took care of us. Please save your time and money and book with someone else

Must See Royal Palace in Madrid!

The tour guide was very fun and well prepared with anecdotes and information about the palace. The skip the line nature of the tour was well worth the price - even though entrance would otherwise be free. However, the group was too large and unwieldy. Several of the rooms could not accommodate all of us (probably 30), let alone the other people in them. As a result, sometimes the guide was describing things I could not see. Also, though the tour was billed as 2 hours, that included 5 minutes waiting for latecomers, 10 minutes walking to the Palace from the meeting point and 5 minutes distributing headsets (which were provided by the palace and not the tour company, and therefore of poor quality - some stopped working midway through the tour). Even minus those 20 minutes, the tour ended 10 minutes early - so it was really 90 minutes in the palace, and for sure we were rushed from room-to-room and the splendor could not be fully absorb or appreciated.

Wonderful tour! Reminded me of Versailles in France. The guide was informative and pleasant. Would definitely recommend this tour.

Jaw-dropping beauty - Incredible Guide

Complete and comprehensive tour with an amazing Tour Guide! After being shut out of the “official” tours until after the end date of our visit to Madrid, i was thrilled to find this Viator tour opportunity. It was modestly priced, and included immense detail and historical notations. There was almost too much to take in, but time would not permit a repeat.

Mediocre experience and misleading title

The title is Madrid Royal Palace tour with optional Royal collections. The Royal collections were not included. Apparently, it's only included some of the time even though the title says with optional Royal collections. The palace was very crowded and the guide was difficult to hear even with the earpiece. I signed up for this particular tour because it included the collections, but in fact, it does not.

Seeing the royal collection, and the palace. However, due to constant cancelations the palace was packed. Too many people let. They need better people management. Marten was a good tour guide

Very entertaining Royal Palace tour with Lydia

We were a group of eight friends from UK who were eager to experience the Royal Palace via a tour with IBE led by Lydia. She is an excellent guide , a local with very clear English diction and a good speaking voice. She mixes the Royal history with some stories around the Royal personalities. Lydia prepared us for an initial wait to go through security before the tour could begin, as well as certain rooms that were very small. Everyone in our group really enjoyed the experience and were amazed by Lydia’s memory and historical recall!

Benny (Benito) was the best guide ever! He was fun and explain everything in detail. He knows how to handle big groups and take care of all our questions

Beautiful palace

Ismael our guide was very knowledgeable. The tour was on time lasted about 90 minutes.,it was not too long or too short. You are seeing the tip of the iceberg since there are 3000 rooms

Disappointing

My friends and I were really excited to see the tour but we missed the appointment and the tour guide refused to reschedule us or offer a refund but insisted we pay for the tours again. Poor customer service. Very disappointing.

The amazing Royal Palace of Madrid Tour - don’t miss it

A not to be missed tour while in Madrid. The Palace was spectacular made extra special by our fabulous guide Andrea who really knew her stuff on the history of the Palace and the Kings and Queens who lived here. Our tour was around 2 hours. Andrea introduced each room we visited (around 20 of the 3,400!). She was brilliant and brought the history of each room to life. My favourite was the banqueting room, massive collection of clocks and the music room with amazing violins - priceless. Don’t miss the Armoury. Amazing collection in here. All in all 10/10. Don’t miss out get it booked

Great Tour of Beautiful Palace

Great tour - Crowded but not the guide's fault. I think our guide was Fabio - he was wonderful! Funny and knowledgeable with great suggestions. Seeing the beauty of the palace is worth the crowd - amazing!

Martin was a very well informed guide who provided interesting information about the palace and royal families. He was very nice and well organized.

Delayed tour without communication

Tour guy was late and there was no communication from the company. They could have sent us email. We waited for 35 mins as we were asked to be there at 3:15 while the guide arrive at 3:45

Royal Palace and Collections

Benne was a great guide, very knowledgeable and friendly. The tour was wonderful and thorough, highly recommend. We had an hour for lunch but no tapas, I didn’t realize that until after.

Great tour and insight! Do not choose the self admission or self guided tour. Go with the guide- well worth it! Answered all questions and gave great insight to the history of the palace, Madrid and Spain.

Great guide and fantastic tour

I went with the first tour in the morning. Great time to go as it was not open to the public yet only groups. Our guide, Irene, was great. The tour is long enough to get an appreciation of the palace but short enough that you don't get tired of listening to the guide. Don't forget to go to the armory at the end.
