Our tour guide was awesome she was so sweet. First time touring with a group and it exceeds my expectations. Skipping the lines was awesome and well worth it for traveling with less time

Wonderful

She did a great job of explaining each room. I loved the palace! Absolutely stunning! She was able to provide a lot of good information on each room.

Good tour

Skip the line privilege was great! Tour was a bit slow for us and essentially said everything on the plaques at rhe palace which we could read faster ourselves. Would still reccomend but definitely a slower tour for those who move quick like us.

Excellent palace tour

Marta was an excellent guide. We thoroughly enjoyed the palace tour. We would definitely go again. Explanations were very interesting.

Stunningly Beautiful!

The Palace was amazingly beautiful, and Marta our tour guide was very knowledgeable and humorous. The pace of the tour was perfect, not too fast and not too slow. The audio headsets worked well, and we could hear all the details.

Very good Royal Palace guided tour

Was a well organized and very good tour. The guide explained the Royal Palice very well as well as assisting and helping people when needed.

Not a good experience

We got a WhatsApp message 5 days before to change the time of our tour. We messaged the provider 3 times about the change but no response - we had to get Viator to follow up. On the day, we were supposed to leave at 9.45am but with waiting for late arrivals (over 25 minutes), queuing to get in and then waiting for people to drop off rucksacks, it was. 10.45am before the tour started. Our group must have had 40 people, far too many. By this stage the palace was very busy and you could barely see the rooms. The tour felt rushed as most of the group were going on a walking tour afterwards then to the Prado - Palace tour lasted just over an hour. This is not what we expected and we were very disappointed. Would not recommend this tour. We booked for a single tour but this was 3 tours one after the other.

Enjoyable tour

This was a wonderful tour. I especially liked that it was a small group and that it started on time. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and made sure that we had good views of all the sites, even with the crowds. We did originally schedule a 9:35 am tour, it was changed to 3:00pm. Which actually worked out fine for us. The earpieces provided to listen, could have been better.

Beautiful monument

It’s a beautiful monument and well worth visiting. Interesting because it is a palace that is still in use for high level functions and visits. The opulence is amazing.

So much history

The banquet hall the royal bedrooms the art the violins. The overweling opulance. It was one room after the other each more beautiful.

Beautiful palace

Good your and beautiful palace. Palace was packed so would have been nice for your guide to speak louder and more clear. Also would have been nice to have her hold some sort of indicator to show where she is. But all in all, good tour!

Horrible

I waited for guide for about a hour at the group enterance. The guide was rude and didn’t know what she was doing or what she was talking about. She screamed at me for trying to get on the line that was for “skip the line.” I tried to explain that we have “skip the line tickets.” That we had tickets for 10:15 am that point it was 11:15 am but Laura instead of trying to get into the palace was screaming at me and my mother in front of my child. She screamed in front of the guards. The guard saw me waiting for almost an hour and was ready to let the whole group in. But she forced us to go to the back of the line. Some people left. We all complained to the contact that contacted us prior to event . Laura ruined everything! I want my money back!

Royal palace skip the line disappointment

I’ve used Viator before in numerous locations. I found this tour had too many people in the group. Also there was no skip the line, as it took about 1 hour from the time of check in to the time we finally started touring inside. Waiting to get started, in a line for security, then waiting for storage and by then bathroom break and still had not started touring. Found the palace in need of maintenance (cleaning). Been to other palaces and this was not my favorite.

Royal Palace Tour

This was one of the best ways to see the royal palace. Our tour guide was great and full of detailed knowledge about the palace. It was very cool to see inside and well worth the wait to get it. Just be warned that you may be waiting a little bit to get through security into the palace!

Not good

Not good... we werent able to find the meeting place, very confusing. Ended up missing the tour. The link that was provided got us lost.

Good guide, lots of cool...

Good guide, lots of cool stuff to see. You definitely need to book a skip-the-line tour, the admission line for people without such tour arrangements stretched for blocks!

Completely overpriced

Tour was due to start at 9:45, didn't start until around 10:10. We were told online the tour was 1hr 45mins, tour guide said 2hr 10mins, actually ended up being closed to 1hr 10mins. Two tours by the same company were going on at the same time so rooms in the Palace were massively overcrowded. Would not recommend, very expensive for short tour and not much information learned

Great to skip the line but then ditch your guide

We were surprised that tickets to the Palace were sold out, so signing up for this skip-the-line tour was the only way we could get in on the day we'd allocated. Unless you care about who made which clock, we recommend ditching your guide once you're inside, and following the tour route independently. It will be just as interesting and will take less time. Things were exacerbated by our guide's insistence on trying to find 4 people who had signed up but did not show at the meeting spot at the appointed time. For some reason, she choose to inconvenience the rest of us who had arrived on time. (that said, skipping the line surely saved us time versus standing in the non-group line, which was quite long). Ultimately we did ditch the tour, and we were not the only ones.

Definitely worth the money!

The Palace is s definitely worth seeing and highly recommend using a guided tour. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and had a sense of humor. It felt a bit disorganized in the beginning. There was no way to identify our guides initially. No sign or flag. The ear phones are tricky if you have small ears. Our guide was shorter, so it was challenging at times to find her in the crowds.

Road closures due to Marathon - Couldn't Get to Starting Point

We tried to get to the starting point of this tour, but our driver could not get us there due to a marathon being run in the city. We didn't receive any updated change of location, so we missed this tour and had to schedule another at a much higher price. We realize special events occur, but we were disappointed that the pickup point was not changed by the local tour personnel.

Tour good; company made changes to itinerary that were not great

The tour itself was fine, however the time and the location were switched at the last minute disrupting prior reservations we had made for lunch. It would be helpful if the operator allowed customers to keep the time they originally booked.

Our tour guide was very boring. The palace is worth visiting but it would have been more enjoyable with better explanations and some humor here or there.

I do not remember our guide’s name but she was very good and the quality of the audio equipment was second to none. The tour was just the right length of time.

not worth the price

disorganization, chaos, delay, non-functional headphones, a guide that gives little information (example: this is a piano, this is a violin, it is made of wood, etc.) the use of an audio guide with a visit by yourself would have been much better, we didn't get value for our money

Great tour with Pedro

Excellent tour with Pedro around the Royal Palace. He had so much interesting stories to tell that we didn’t know. Great sense of humor.

TERRIBLE avoid

I have booked tour through booking.com. The confirmation email stated meeting point by the statue of Phillip 4. The company changed meeting point the last minute and did not contact me regarding the change. They tried to reach me via phone 5 minutes prior to the beginning of your. I changed my SIM cards so they did not reach me. At the time the tour started I contacted them via WhatsApp. They informed me about the change of meeting point. It took me 5 minutes to get there however the tour already started and they did not even bother to wait 5 minutes. I found out about the new meeting point at 13:30 I was there 13:35 (five minutes after the official start of the tour). After I complained they stopped responded to my messages and I do not know whether I even get the refund!!!!!!!! Unprofessional behavior, AVOID AVOID AVOID they ruined my whole experience.

If we return to Madrid, we will repeat

Pedro turned out to be a very pleasant guide. We loved his way of telling the particularities of each room. And the anecdotes. We really liked knowing what the rooms are used for and that they are used in official events. With the headphones, at first, there was a small mess that was quickly resolved

A magnificent palace

The Palace is stunning. In addition to its architectural richness and gigantic dimensions, it is richly decorated to showcase the power and opulence of the monarchy in the 18th century. With the information from the guide, it was possible to learn more about the context surrounding the construction of the palace and also about the history of the Spanish monarchy since Carlos III

Excellent tour

Scheduling the visit was easy and quick, as was finding the meeting point. They resolved a scheduling problem for us quickly. The tour itself was guided by Almudena and he was incredibly friendly and gave us a lot of historical information about the palace. I would highly recommend it.

We preferred the audio guide

The palace is really beautiful but our guide didn't speak loudly and didn't speak into the microphone, she wasn't expecting the group even though we asked her. She seemed inexperienced and we learned a lot more with the audio guide than with her. The other disappointment is leaving late because of people who were not on time even though the majority of the group was there.
