Meeting point was easy to find. Our guide Diego was extremely cheerful and willing to chat from start to finish. It was way more than a food tour as it was so full of history (which I loved). Diego gave perspective on many parts of Madrid life. The food and drink choices were wonderful in quality and diversity. I strongly recommend this tour.

Highly recommend the Madrid walking food tour and at the beginning of your trip!

We started our trip off to Madrid with the walking food tour and we HIGHLY RECOMMEND it! Maria José (Joe) was a fabulous guide! We learned some history overall but more importantly it gave us a good understanding of the culture and food so we enjoyed the following days in Madrid even more. Joe took us to some great places and even gave us great recommendations for restaurants to hit while we were in Madrid and they were all spot on. My 2 boys (10 and 12) also really enjoyed the walking food tour!

Tastes and tidbits of Madrid

Maria Jose is an energetic, engaging and very knowledgeable food tour guide who gave us fascinating insights into the history of Madrid while exploring the origin of different foods. It lasted about 2 1/2 hours starting at 11am, visiting iconic specialty houses and family businesses, some going back several generations including one commissioned by the Royal family for their desserts. The gastronomic delights included savoury tapas, desserts/pastries, a small sampling of local beer and wine, and easily the best Iberian ham (in generous amounts) we have tasted so far, 10 days into our guided tour of Spain and Portugal, having commenced with this food tour. We finished with full tummies and armed with the right amount of background knowledge with which to kickstart our tour.

Phenomenal food and history tour of Madrid

Maria-Jose was an exceptional guide really understanding more than just food and wine....she understands the links of the food and wine to the land and the culture. This tour provided access to wonderful food and also extensive knowledge of the culinary patrimony of Spain and it's rich cultural history. One of the best tours we have taken. Maria-Jose is highly recommended.

Mad love for Madrid and our tour guide!

Exceeded our expectations! Our guide, Maria Jose (Joe) was absolutely fantastic!! We loved her and she was a walking history lesson too! It was like being taken around Madrid by a close friend. She had everything perfectly organized ahead of time, and took us to non-touristy places where everyone knew her when we walked it. Food and drinks we're set up for her/us before our arrival at each location and we were treated like popular locals. Our son is studying abroad there and has been there for 2 months already and he LOVED the tour too b/c she took us to places he wouldn't have otherwise seen. Can't recommend this tour enough and ask for 'Joe' if you have the chance. We did a private tour (which they offer) with a group of 5 of us and it was perfect. 10/10!

Delicious and brilliantly led food tour in Madrid

Maria Jose (Joe) was an excellent guide! She provided background and history for all the places we visited and we very engaging the entire time. Her expenditure of time at each stop was perfect; we had the opportunity to taste the food and drink and enjoy the atmosphere while also staying on schedule. Her English was flawless, so the entire group was able to understand every word, I think. I would highly recommend Maria Jose as a guide for this tasty, well-produced tour.

Exhaustive and delicious

Our guide was Maria Jose, a lovely woman, patient with my wife's and my language problem. Maria Jose brought us on an exhaustive and delicious culinary journey in the alleys of Madrid. Jorge knows best!

Our tour guide Jorge knew everything and made us feel like part of the city. Not only did he get us in to some of the busiest local spots for delicious food, he gave us recommendations along the way of where else to go and what to avoid food and drink wise in order to have the best experience on our visit. Along the way we made some extra stops for some history of the central Madrid area and at the end, it was one big celebration with more great food at a large table in a private room downstairs at a nice restaurant. Had plenty to eat and drink. We even got the chance to pour our own ciders the traditional way! If you book this tour, ask for Jorge!

Amazing Madrid food walking tour

Jorge was fantastic! A true Madrileno who knows the city. He introduced us to wonderful food experiences that we never would have found without him. No complaints at all - just too much delicious food (and drink)! And better, the history and stories and how it connects to Madrid. I definitely recommend this tour and Jorge.

The best part of my experience was definitely the authenticity of the food and the amazing taste of every spot.

Our tour guide (Jorge) might have given the best tour that I have ever had the pleasure of listening to. He knew everything there was to know about great food in Madrid and shared this information with great humor.

The food was great and authentic, and Jorge was funny, knowledgeable, and a great guide. The price was more expensive than some shorter tours, but I think it was worth it.

Exceptional authentic Madrid experience

I highly recommend this tour with Jorge, his knowledge of the History, architecture and passion for Madrid was exceptional. The tour took us into a rare view and experience of authentic cuisine with fascinating stories behind each site we visited. whether you a group, couple or solo well worth investing.

Very disappointing

Jorge was excellent as a guide with a lot of information, but! After doing many food walks around the world this one was extremely disappointing in terms of the variety of food, number of tapas and quantity, hardly any vegetarian options (after being warned). I do think it seems like quite a rip off in terms of food but as a guide Jorge was very good.

An amazing experience!

My wife and I did 3 different food tours in Europe, Rome, Paris and here in Madrid. Here in Madrid, Adriadna was our guide and this was hands down our favorite tour! She was so informative and passionate about the food, culture and history of Madrid! This was our third day in Madrid and she went into a lot of detail and took us to some of the best spots we would not have even thought to have walked into. Food and drinks were amazing! We loved that they specialize in smaller groups as we were able to get more personalized attention as well. I highly recommend this tour with Adriadna for your first day when you arrive so you know where to go and what to eat the rest of your trip. She was very helpful in recommending other restaurants and places to visit while in Madrid. Def a must do when you first arrive in Madrid!

Interesting tour

Loved this tour. Jorge does such a fabulous job. As a vegetarian, I am always concerend about food tours but Jorge made sure I had something to eat at every stop and made sure there was enough for the group. Jorge only brough us to family owned businesses and had great stories about the owners. He had intersting information about the food and also Madrd. Highly recommend.

Great way to eat through Madrid

I booked the Secret Food Tours: Madrid for my friend and I. There was a couple that joined us and Jorge was our tour guide. Four people was a great size and we got along great with the couple from England. Jorge was knowledgeable and made the whole tour very fun. You definitely get full on this trip, so make sure to eat a very light breakfast if you're doing an 11 a.m. tour. My favorite stop on the trip was probably the old pastry shop. The history made it more fun but that pastry was perfectly crisp, flaky and custardy! Jorge gave us the details about the markers on the ground and the history of the pastry shop, which is fascinating. I wouldn't have known about it just by walking around on my own. You also get plenty to drink as well (beer, vermouth, cider and wine). I would highly suggest taking this tour early on in your trip so you get your bearings and have an idea of where you are and if you love a place, you can come back!

Food Tour to Discover Madrid

Jorge was our guide and he was very enthusiastic and knowledgable about the area. Be prepared to eat! I was glad that I had skipped breakfast that morning. There is a fair amount of walking so be sure you wear comfortable shoes though there are enough food stops to rest your feet. It was nice that non-alcoholic beverages were offered at every stop without any problem or judgement. Besides the sights and the food, we had a great group of people from all over the world. I did not feel left out even though I was the only solo attendee. Everyone was so nice! The group stayed to chat for about an hour longer after the tour ended. I highly recommend this tour!

Love the food tour

We had a fantastic time with Jorge. One of the best food tours I’ve ever been on just make sure you don’t eat before you go out on the tour because you get a lot of food and some interesting history of the restaurants and the city. I highly recommend it.

Of our many food tours this was one of the best. Great combination of interesting information from our guide Ari. Plus a wide variety of food and drinks. Walking distance was a couple of kilometers, and we ended very close to our start location. Ari was very helpful with other information to help us learn about Madrid and enjoy our time here. Fabulous secret tour

We went on a secret food tour with Jorge, best decision we ever made. Although we have been to Madrid several time Jorge took us to place we have never been to and never new existed. In fact a couple of places we went to we had passed on numerous occasions. Jorge’s enthusiasm for his beautiful home city and the businesses he took us to visit shines through and really made this tour the best we have ever done. I cannot recommend it enough. You must do this tour.

Wonderful tour

We booked this as a birthday treat and it didn't disappoint. Jorge our guide was engaging and so passionate about the food and drink of Spain..we were taken to some beautiful family run businesses many of which we returned to over the weekend...the additional history details were great 👍...this is so worth doing if you have are only in Madrid for a few days.

Our guide Jorge took us to several long running local businesses. Tasted several Spanish foods and drinks . Jorge gave us much historical information on the businesses and explained where in Spain the various wines and ingredients were produced. Always a pleasure to work with a guide passionate about his city and its foods

Great time walking around getting a true sense of Madrid. Our guide Ari was open, knowledgeable, and had great taste in how she chose to sample her city. I would highly recommend her and this secret food tour!

Wonderful Wine Tour with Jorge and Joe!

Secret Urban Wine Tour took my friends and me on a private, three-hour wine journey through Madrid. The tour included four stops and seven wine tastings. At each tasting, we sipped exquisite wines while learning about how to drink wine and how soil, grapes, humidity and temperature impact wine production. In between tastings, Joe and Jorge discussed the historical significance of a different landmark. We purchased the upgraded package, which added a complimentary bite to each glass of wine. Over the course of the evening, we sampled red, white and even the infamous "blue wine." The pairing bites were delicious too. I highly recommend the wine tour for groups.

Great tapas tour

Ari was such a lovely tour guide and showed us a bit of Madrid's food and culture! Specifically liked the calamari sandwich (yumm) and the jamon iberico shop. Would have been great to learn even more about the history of the city but overall a great tour. Would highly recommend!

A big highlight of our trip

We took a Secret Food Tour of Madrid with Jorge and it was on of the best things we did in Spain. Jorge was a terrific guide and the pace of the tour was relaxed and fun. We were very entertained, and well-fed! We all learned so much, and not just about Madrid's food. Jorge also showed us around his city and taught us many interesting things about Madrid's history and the current lifestyle there. Don't hesitate to book this tour on your next trip...you won't be disappointed!!!

Me encanto disfrutar de este tour gastronómico en Madrid, fue una increíble experiencia. He conocido los mejores y más tradicionales lugares donde los lugareños salen a comer. Cabe mencionar que la comida también estuvo muy deliciosa. Mi favorito fue la tortilla de patatas, pero todo estuvo excelente. Este tour tambien me permitio aprender sobre la hostoria de Madrid y sus calles. La experiencia que tuvimos con nuestro guía Jorge fue muy buena, una persona amable y que conoce mucho sobre el tema. Ari er desuden god til at fortælle om livet i Madrid, både historisk og i nutiden. Vi fik også flere gode tip til de kommende dage, som vi havde stor glæde af.
