Our guide Alex was brilliant. We only had four people in total on the tour which made for brilliant interaction with our guide who provided a brilliant backdrop to what we were seeing. We would thoroughly recommend the tour, it left us with a far better understanding of the history of both Spain and Madrid itself

Madrid walking tour

The tour was very informative. Our tour guide Jake was very educated on Spanish history, influences, architecture, basically what you would want to know about the local area. In addition, he provided excellent suggestions on a local cuisine. After the tour we went back to one of the places and had a wonderful lunch. Thank you, Jake, for a great time!

She explained all the things with so many details and information. We loved the entire experience and we highly recommend taking tours with Babylon!! Fabulous tour of old city

Beatriz was a fabulous guide we had so much fun on the old town tour with her : she had so many tips for us. She took us inside some old taverns to show us the architecture and poo fed out some local delicacies for us to try later

Informative and fun facts

David was a fantastic guide, full of knowledge and information about the area. He was also patient and very willing to answer any additional questions anyone had. I enjoyed the smallness of the group as it was easier to keep up and I felt we were able to cover more ground. This is a great tour, especially if you want a nice overview of Spanish history, especially Madrid. As a plus, we had some “fun facts” along the tour which also made the tour even more enjoyable.

Terrific teacher and guide

Ana was a terrific guide. She was knowledgeable but not arrogant, gave plenty of information but did not make my head spin. She is a good teacher. Moreover, my spouse who has a very strong foundation in history and can be a bit of a snob, appreciated her approach. The photos and maps she used helped us learn and remember. It was not a crazy amount of walking and she was careful to put us in the shade whenever possible (although we were fortunate with mild weather). She also shared resources for meals. Her english was excellent.

Wow! What an amazing tour of Madrid’s Old City. Beatriz was hands down one of the best tour guides we’ve ever had. Her passion and knowledge of Spain’s and Madrid’s history was unbelievable. She was funny and thorough. We never would have seen the “extra” special places in Madrid if we hadn’t gone on the tour with Beatriz. She really went above and beyond! We loved this tour!

Great history lesson while we walked the the streets. Ana M. was so knowledgeable and customized her commentary to our questions. The time flew by as we travelled from pre-Christian to medieval to the renaissance! Recommend this tour if you want to see history as you hear about it

Madrid History from the Spanish People’s Perspective

Angel was an excellent guide. He explained the history of Madrid, as well as various past events of Spanish history very well. The walk was interesting but not overly taxing. Lots of stops to chat, answer questions and talk about Spanish cuisine, Napoleon’s occupation and the days of the Inquisition. Would highly recommend this tour with Babylon Tours and Angel as guide.

Learning the history of the Royal Palace and Pablo giving us a tour of the famous pastry shops! Also the Mercado San Miguel was a treat.

We learned so much about Madrid. Our tour guide, Beatriz, was very knowledgeable, and with only 5 of us on the tour it was easy to ask questions. We got in intimate view of the Old City that we couldn't have gotten from a bus tour.

Walk through Madrids History

The walking tour was an amazing 2.5 hours with David! Extremely knowledgeable, fun and engaging. The tour flew by. Even though it was hot, he kept us in the shade as much as possible when we stopped and asked if we wanted to stop to buy water as we passed shops. Very considerate of the small group.

Our guide, Jaimie, was knowledgeable and paced the tour in the Madrid heat just perfectly. He accommodated my mobility issues wonderfully well with concern and a minimum of fuss. He answered our questions and helped see the scope of history in this beautiful city. Jaimie did a great job!

Went on this guided tour with my wife while we were in Madrid! The tour guide (David) was very courteous and hospitable and knowledgeable. Really learnt a lot about the history of Madrid and Spain and would highly recommend it.

Great way to see Madrid!

This was our first time visiting Madrid. We were in Spain for a wedding with our 2 young children (8 & 6). David was our tour guide and kept us (including my children) entertained for the entire 2.5 hours tour. There’s quite a bit of walking (approx 3 miles) that includes narrow streets, steps, and hills. David was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions about the beautiful city of Madrid. He even gave us many great recommendations for food along the tour. I loved doing the semi-private tour as it was a more intimate experience. We really got to know David our tour guide as the tour really felt like a friend was just walking around with us showing us the city. I highly recommend this tour and our tour guide, David.
