So much more than wine

Started with a “new” vineyard and ended with a centuries old underground cave. Fantastic insight into Spanish wine, a familial experience.

MUST DO!!!

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!! My daughter and I are both fully bilingual, so we requested a Spanish speaking guide, but to our surpise, Antonio had perfect English, and made our mom & daughter wine tasting tour, THE BEST!!!

Terrific time!

Three wineries, three excellent tours with excellent wines! A great excursion outside of Madrid for a lovely time in the countryside with wine and tapas. We purchased wine and it shipped and arrived back to the States within a couple of weeks! Terrific time!

Great way to spend the day!!

Ismael was an excellent tour guide. We went to 3 different wineries, sampled several wines and were given snacks at each location. Ismael explained everything about the wine history of Spain. This was a nice way to spend the day and get out of the city for awhile. Bonus was that there were other Swifties reveling in the post Eras Tour concert which brought us all to Madrid.

Great wine tasting day.

This was a great wine tour. Ismael was a great driver and host for us. He took us first to a very small boutique winery where we saw the grapes just starting to bloom that was now run by two sisters. Then to two bigger wineries. The hosts at the wineries were all very gracious letting us into their cellars to see the wine in the barrels and give us snacks and wine tasting. We bought wine at each stop, there was not a bad bottle to be found there. The pricing was also less than half what you pay for comparable in the US. It was a really great day. The only recommendation I would give is to bring your own water, that is not provided in the van but they serve it to you at each stop. Thanks again Ismael for a great day.

Great experience

Our guide Ismael is very knowledgeable and personable. The mix of different types of wineries and experiences was great. We loved the wines and the different tapas.

Fun and exciting!

Antonio was an excellent tour guide! He took us to the best, local wineries that each specialized in different wine making processes. The hosts of the wineries were extremely generous and tasty snacks were provided as well.

My friend and I did the wine tour with Ismael and he was amazing! He was a great host and took time to answer all of questions. If you want to get out of Madrid and see the countryside and taste some amazing wine, this is a must do!

Amazing caves and wine

Fantastic day in the country side and urban caves. Ismael was our tour guide and taught us so much about the history of wine in Spain and the manufacturing. Every wine was better than the last and the snacks were the perfect accompaniment to keep you from being hungry! Highly recommend.

We had a phenomenal experience. Our tour guide, Nacho, was extremely knowledgable and friendly. He was very lively and made sure we had an excellent experience. He explains the wines very well. Bodegas Peral was definitely a highlight. The sobremadre white wine they have there is excellent and I normally am a red wine drinker. Definitely recommend this tour!

Not bad for the price

The guide was good but much of the wine was not enjoyable to us. We liked the second winery best for flavor. The food at the secondary winery was also great. The wines at the first and third wineries were less enjoyable. The tour in the caves was interesting. Not bad overall. We’ve been on better wine tours in others areas.

Good Wine, Good Food, Good Experience

This was a ton of fun. Nacho (our guide) served as interpreter for all of the wineries (none of the owners/winemakers spoke english). Not only did he interpret well - he knew his way around a wine glass. Being a small winery owner/ winemaker - he flawlessly handled all of my technical questions. Plenty of good nibbles at each stop - good enough to cover lunch. A broad range of wine tasting, including barrel samples. Hey - don’t pass up the great Olive Oil choices at one of the wineries - we didn’t!

Madrid’s best wine tour!

How wonderfully knowledgeable Ishmael our tour guide was. We learned so much and had the best time! The snacks at each vineyard were terrific and the perfect amount!

Wonderful experience

The guide was amazing, very knowledgeable. Lovely tour round 3 wineries. Excellent wines and sensible (generous) amounts to taste.

The full day tour is great and would like to have more than 6 hours.

The driver was exceptional. The wineries were extremely accommodating and exciting to visit. Definitely don't pass up the opportunity to take this tour. Its a memory you don't want to miss.

Ismael and his wine tour was exceptional

This was one of the best wine tours I have done. Ismael was the perfect host and very informative on the wines, the wineries and wine in general. This was a birthday gift for my 30 odd year old son and myself and we thoroughly enjoyed it. All the wineries were slightly different and the wine tasting amounts were very generous. There was not a full blown meal but every place laid out a variety of nibbles and we definitely were not hungry. I was concerned beforehand that the price was a bit much but I was so wrong as it was worth every penny and I am angling to do it again with my girlfriends. We were also lucky enough to see some local traditions in one of the small wine towns which added to the day! The wine I purchased was also extremely reasonable and not something I'd be able to get in the UK.

Expensive but Fun

Very fun and educational. Learned a lot about wine and Spain. Had some good food along the way. Alberto was very funny and conscientious.

Amazing experience in an overlooked part of Spain´s many wine regions

My husband and I, refugees from America, live here in Spain and have a lot of friends and family visiting. On my sister´s recent visit, we planned a trip to Madrid to see the museums and other sites. She also scheduled this guided excursion with Gourmet Madrid Tours. While I was a little skeptical and not happy about a 9:30 AM start (this is Spain, after all), I would rate this in the top 5 of all tours I have taken in my many decades of traveling to and living in Spain. Ismael was a delight, very knowledgeable, and funny, and the three wineries we visited were all distinct in both their approach and the types of wines they produced. I´m not easily convinced to purchase things on tours like this, but I am pretty sure that we bought at least one bottle from each place we visited. I am also pretty sure that those wines lasted less than two days in our care. My recommendations: eat before you start the tour and ship everything home directly from the source, otherwise you will be both tipsy and sans wine.

We did the tour to the Madrid Countryside Wineries and Alberto, our guide. He was very informative about the history of Madrid as well as the wineries. Each winery was Wonderful!! We learned a lot about the wineries, the families that ran each one and of course, enjoyed the wine tasting.

this tour was great! Our guide, Antonio, was lovely, extremely knowledgeable (makes his own wine!), and welcoming. The hosts of each winery were equally as hospitable and willing to share in their process, knowledge, and space with us. Tastings were great— delicious wines from the region, and generous pours. Bus ride there was comfortable and clean and quick. Would book again!

A trip to remember.

I highly recommend this tour. Our guide, Ishmael, was very thorough and knowledgeable. It was a pleasure to get out of the city and learn more about the Spanish vineyards and see how the grapes are grown and processed. .

Excursión de Vino!!

Excellent tour!! Our guide Ismael was extremely informative and we enjoyed the balance of information and guest interaction. The wineries were excellent and I learned a lot about the appellation and that potato chips pair well with hummus and wine.

A break from cathedrals and castles

Great guide, great wine. I’m no wine connoisseur, but you don’t have to be, great for someone just interested in wine and the wine making process. It was a girls day out, good times had by all.

Wonderful tour

Wonderful half day in the countryside and small towns visiting vinyards and wine cellars! Ismael was very engaging, knowledgeable and passionate about wine and the history of making wine in space. The wine tastings were lovely and very generous.

What an AWESOME experience. Can’t say enough about what a great time we had. Worth every penny. Ismael (spelling sorry) was an amazing host/guide. And there was plenty of wine along the way. We also learned a lot :) 🍷 It was our favorite tour in Spain.

Excellent Wine Tour

Alberto was a very knowledgeable guide including history and impact on wine, along with good overall wine knowledge. Of the 3 wineries visited, one was actually located at their vineyard and production site, the other two were at the production facilities and tasting rooms. Alberto provide most of the information at the later two with some input from owner using him as an interpreter. The caves at the last 2 facilities were fascinating and understanding their purpose. Wine for the most art was very good and reasonably priced if wanting to purchase. Not Gran Reserva quality but good.

Fantastic Tour!

Nacho was an amazing! Really nice and friendly guy who was very knowledgeable about wine, the wine making process and the wineries that we visited. All of the wineries were different so you got to experience a nice variety. We visited the vineyards, wine caves and a small town that had several wineries. The wine and food were excellent and the tour was well organized. We received a lot of wine and food on the tour and overall, it was a great value for the money. I would definitely book this tour again!

Lovely wine tour

I brought my mom to madrid as a birthday present. She loves wine so wi e tasting was a must. Antonio (Tony) was our tour guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable on wine and Spanish culture. He is absolutely amazing, made us feel like we were with a friend. Going to different wineries was really fun, each one was different.

Must See Countryside Wine Tour

This was by far the highlight of my trip to Spain. The tour was educational and also very fun. All of the hosts were charming and welcoming. Our tour guide was also phenomenal. The wine was spectacular and the tapas were incredibly tasty. I definitely would recommend this tour to anyone who is considering! 10 STARS!!!

Fun times on the country side of Spain!

This tour is a must if you're interested in wine in anyway. Our tour guide, Antonio, was amazing! He was knowledgeable about wine and the wine making process and shared a lot of interesting information about the history and future of wine in Spain and in the world. He also made the tour fun with his humor and great personality. The wine and snacks were refreshing. We learned a lot and had a great time all at once!

Fantastic wine tour for those new to Madrid

My wife & I went on this tour whilst on holiday in Madrid and so glad we went. The trip lasts for around 6 hours and took us out of Madrid city into the countryside (around 50km distance). We visited 3 wineries which were all different in age, how the grapes were grown, processed and bottled. All really interesting. The tour guide Alberto was superb and had a great sense of humour. We were in a group of 16 people and that added to the great shared experience. We tasted different wines at all 3 wineries and there was also tapas on offer too (which was equally nice). Wine was available to buy of course and it was good to have the opportunity to try before buying and also be able to get some short run wines that aren't readily available - also at really good prices, at least compared to what we would pay in the UK ! So in summary a great tour that is well worth your time & money. You'll learn something about wine making, the local area to Madrid, Spanish history and get to interact with some great people.

An amazing expeeience

Antonio was a great hosts. I have ever seen anything like the wne cellrs. Both hosts and wines were exvellent. But it woukd have been nice to start later in the day! Im not used to day drinking!

Great experience

We visited 3 wineries, small family run places but very charming. The wine was very good and our guide Ismael provided knowledgeable information about the history of each vineyard. It was definitely money well spent.
