The worst Hop On Hop Off

The worst Hop on Hop Off I have ever ridden. There are no signs for the pick up stops. We walked miles to find a pick up stop. The locals don’t even know where it stops. No air conditioning and no English speaking guides who announce the stops. So disorganized and some guides were very rude when you asked about the poor signage.

Convenient transportation option

There's not much to say. It works if you need transportation to points of interest. It’s useful for the price and convenience.

Worth the time.

It was a good way to see the city. Hits alot of points. Convenient. Nothing spectacular, but good for sighteeeing.

Good experience

The experience was good , but never received any info from the tour company from where to go for the first stop and what time is the first and last bus.

First Day Experience

Each city we visit on our first day we always discover the town with hop on hop off touring. It saves time and gives you a better perspective. I appreciate the language option when using the headphones and canopy cover on a hot or rainy day. I only complaint is that the bus stops are really not clearly marked. They are very small stickers sometimes nothing at all. However, I would highly recommend touring this way at the beginning of your stay.

Great way to see Madrid

Great routes, had a really good day with all the excitement of the Real Madrid soccer win. Busses/drivers coped with diversions and traffic congestion well. We saw so much

Running around Madrid

Great way to get around the city. We were there for only 8 hours to see the soccer stadium and used it to get around. The only thing I would say Is further detail of where the bus stop is would be helpful. We would just look out for a red bus and run

Great way to see highlights of city with little time Allies multiple stops on and off bus. It was great way to move the city

Challenging to locate

Unfortunately, the most memorable was trying to locate a bus stop. More information in the email would be helpful. Perhaps addresses or a map!

I loved all the touristic highlights we stopped at. And I loved the easy access to to hop on and off the busses. All the pitstops were also easy to find when one walks.

Crazy busy city, but hop on hop off or our favorite to get a general sense of the city, beautiful!!!

Good way to see historic Madrid

The conductor was very helpful to us when the bus was delayed for 30 minutes. Suggested altetnative bus routes.

Meh

We typically enjoy these hop-on-hop-offs as a great first day activity: you can get an overview of the city and orient yourself. However, this one was lackluster. It didn't actually drive by many of the city landmarks and the narration was anemic. We actually hopped off after about an hour. I just wasn't a good use of our time.

Reasonably priced way to get around the city and see (and hear) about all the big spots

I loved being able to pop on and off and on again, while seeing all the things with an audio description in whatever language you speak is incredible.

Not worth it

After the difficult times I had finding and waitig for a bus, I decided I would never do this experience again. The price was 60 dollars for 2, for 2 days. Which I am not complaining about the price. The experience was just bad and difficult. In the future I would find the key points of interest and spend my 60 dollars on taxi rides.

No ride rip off

The bus NEVER showed up at the plaza Isabel, one of the designated stops. The tour operator refused to refund our money. The Viator refused to take responsibility as well. We were in Madrid for a layover so we had three hours from 6-9 pm. They are awful as we notified them we were not seeing any red bus! Taking an Uber back to the airport we saw two buses on the Gran Via…back to front! Ripped off!

Not worth your time nor money.

Don’t waste your money. This is an awful tour. Not enough buses so you have to wait a long time in between buses and the narratives are boring and not informational. Can’t see anything.

Horrible experience

This was the worst experience on the hop on and hop off. Wish I could get my money back. We got on at Gran Via and the bus was packed. We had to sit in the way back of the bus and couldn’t see anything. Upstairs was filled the 7 stops that we were on. There were no markings for the stops either like in other cities. Terrible!

The tour was good. The tour personnel were rude and had no patience for foreigners.

Narrated tour with provided headsets. Seats were comfy enough for a tall person. Good views from the top deck.

The maps were horrible...

The maps were horrible and basically useless. Areas on the maps were wrong, the bus route line was highlighted over the street names so you could not see them, alot of the bus stop marks on the map covered the name of the landmarks so you could not see them either. Finding the bus stops was like a scavenger hunt. Some were at the public bus stops and there was no sign or indication that the tour bus stopped there also. It was not a good experience at all, i would not recommend using this service

Great tour of the city. Hard to find the exact location to get on. Could use more signage. Maybe nicer people on the bus checking you in.

Good trip worth the money

Well worth the money. Our guide Martha was really nice and was able to answer all the question we asked. If you have problems walking it may no be a good choice but Martha was more then willing to stay back with me the last part of the walking tour and called a taxi for the 15 min walk down the hill. Unfortunately the Taxie took more then an hour before arriving. She communicated with the taxie company several times I was very greatfully because of the language barrier. Thank you again Martha😀. Good tour would do again when I am in better shape.

Relaxing and informative

Really great hop on hop on off service, did route 1 and 2,48 hour special… really good way to explore Madrid, just sit back and relax

Great Bus Ride!

Bus took us around 2 sections of Madrid, the Modern and Centro Areas of the city. Thank you for a wonderful trip.

Loved the historic tour! The staff was friendly..but took us a hour to find the pick up location! No signs anywhere to be found..

The green line was better. I'd do it again. Hop on hop off is the best way to see any city in a short period of time. Love it

Stops poorly marked. Commentary sparce. Would try big bus next time. Used same brand elsewhere and found it good.

Very nice and clear, working times is much longer than other cities which makes it more efficient, very good way to discover the city

TERRIBLE, DON'T DO IT

don't waste your money. We waited 65 minutes for a bus that never showed up and gave up. I guess we should have listened to the other reviewers. Never again,

Waste of Money…

Buses seem to have a problem not bunching up and taking a lot of time for each stop, then multiple people waiting and not enough room on bus and some are turned away until next bus…Also, stops are not well marked and slightly hard to find. Waste of money would go with another one in town and try them.

Typical tour

Typical tour if you want to see the city. Tour guide is not that noteworthy but it got the job done.

Great value for the price

The flexibility of getting on and off the bus enables you to customize your sightseeing to your own specifications. One concern is that if you end up in a stop that is not on the main roads, sometimes there’s a or a clear sign where the Hop on hop off bus stops are.

No hop on hop off running

I called you 2 times once at 8:40 to ask when and where we could get our hop on hop off. Told starts at 9:00 am. Could get it at Prado museum. Walked there all streets were blocked due to race. At 11 I called tour operator asked what was going on with honor hop off she said it wouldn’t start until 3:30- I told her we couldn’t do that because we needed to check into our hotel at 3 and get some sleep having flown from US overnight. Filed request for refund and was denied said it was listed as a no show. Ridiculous

Not with the money.

Not worth your money. We learned nothing. The recordings kept going on and off, were not interesting or even very descriptive or informative. Save your money and take a city bus or ride a bike.

Madrid Hop On Hop Off

There was no narrative as to where we are. Staff only says this is stop #. It will help a little bit as to what can be found in a certain stop..a little bit of story/history will make it more interesting.

Good for the most part

I'll start with...no real instructions as to where the stops are. It said you can join at any stop... but I had to call customer service to get a list of stops. The customer service agent was friendly and helpful and stayed on the phone with me until I received the email. For the most part we got lucky after that and figured it out. A good overview of the city when you don't have much time.

Dissapointing

The sun was blistering and the top would not be covered even though passengers asked for it. The next day the busses would nit run in the morning due to a race but, there had been no advise to customers that the tour would start after the race. Dissapointing!

Use this company if you want to ruin your day!

We were waiting several hours for bus with free space. All the drivers just said ”no can do, we are fully booked”. Why no one told us that when we bought the tickets? There was a lot of people waiting on the bus stops. Only use this company if you want to ruin your day!

Great view and easy to use

Great ride through the city after walking all day. Head set worked on the first bus, but English channel didn't play on the third bus. Attendant and driver were friendly and helpful. 2 different routes to chose from or ride both. After touring, I used the bus to get home after dinner instead of ubering or walking more. I would use this again.

Cat speaker was poor on the New Madrid tour

Saw a lot of the city. The new Madrid side was narrated by a "cat" not nearly as good as the central city tour narrated by a female voice.

Great service, and amazing staff, easy to find the bus stops. We highly recommend it. We definitely will use the service again in the future.

Worst Customer Service

Although there were several buses that said Hop on Hop Off, none of the drivers would accept the QR code we received from Viator - so we never boarded a bus and Viator just denied my request for a refund.

Not clear to understand the emplacement of the bus stop, time of departure etc My experience in Barcelona was way better, its was more organized.

An excellent way to see all over Madrid. Great staff on board to help and explain things. A good commentary in many languages. Frequent buses. Highly recommended.

The Ultimate Madrid City Tour Hop-On Hop-Off Extravaganza!

Most memorable was the amazing staff at every turn. On the bus - both drivers and check-in agents onboard each bus; the lovely lady inside the kiosk in front of the museum AND during online chats because being Canadian, you sign up to pay but it appears as US currency which threw me when I received my online receipt (a simple disclaimer/tagline needs to be added to your website to avoid confusion please for future Canadian guests). What I equally enjoyed was that you could hop on and off during the 24 or 48-hour window of choice. This was most appreciated and worked well with my solo travel needs on both days. Your bus shelters are also clearly identified at every stop as were your buses. Also, on one occasion, the driver stopped and closed the roof for safety reasons when going through that construction site. This was also appreciated. Martin :)

City Bus Preferred

Best way to get overall impression of Madrid. Buses are comfortable and audio track is informative and clear.

Fantastic experience!

The tour was excellent and the buses arrived as scheduled. The information given in the audio commentary was both informative and well-timed to allow us to pick out which sites they were referring to. It was nice to be able to get off to explore the various areas further and I liked that we had access to both the historic and modern tours.

Not worth 2 days, maybe one day and even then it is an ok trip.

The Hop on Hop off was very chaotic and the people running each bus were rude when getting on. It wasn't a pleasant ride as the roads were very busy and narrow that you didn't want to stay on long. I also paid for a 2 day tour but one of the days fell on a Holiday to which we were not able to get on the bus for 6hrs and when I asked for a refund I was given conflicting information. One person told me they would give me a partial refund then later I was told I was not able to get one as I could have used it another day. HOWEVER I was not able to use it another day as I was leaving the next day so it was a waste of money. No use in arguing with them though as everyone had an attitude and was not very nice.
