Patricia Willems is the guide to get! We walked about town stopping to eat and drink local specialties at her favorite spots. Great info, delicious tapas, many new tastes and flavors to try. We were not rushed, took our time and enjoyed a spectacular evening with our terrific guide. Highly recommend and a great value.

Night out with a new friend

Everyone bit me and my son cancelled and did not attend this tour and that made it an amazing experience to have with my son. We got to experience food that tailored to avoid my allergy indulge my love of architecture and tailor some location to foods she felt my son would like. Patricia was an amazing host and half way through the tour we felt like we were just out on the town in Madrid with a friend.

Madrid Tapas Adventure Tour

Our tour guide, Patricia was amazing! We had the most delicious food and drink and experienced all the best tapas places from a local's perspective. She also followed up with recommendations for restaurants in Madrid and other cities we planned to visit and took the time to send recipes as well recommending local shops for purchases we were interested in. The tour was not solely about tapas. We also received history lessons on each area of the city we saw with her. Book this tour- you won't be sorry!

Disappointing Tapas tour

Went on tapas tour. Our guide Afka was tremendous as was the beer and wine. Alas tapas not so much. We had mushrooms then 2 types of potatoes then sausage all good but expecting more. Finally calamari, excellent, shrimp tiny and a very disappointing bread desert. Would not recommend

Fantastic Tapas Experience

This tour with Lillian was a highlight of our visit. She was knowledgible, passionate about all things Madrid and paced the tour perfectly. The restaurants she took us to were full of locals adding to this unique experience. We highly recommend adding this to your itinerary.

Patricia was an outstanding guide.

Patricia took us to tapas restaurants that we never would have found ourselves. We were the only two on this tour so she customized it to our dietary needs. Patricia also gave us an amazing overview of the City and walked us around some beautiful buildings and squares. We would recommend this to anyone visiting Madrid for just a few days.

Torrijas, Christmas lights and jet lag

Lilian was an absolute star as a guide. I was extremely jet lagged and the only one on the tour. She made sure we went at my own pace and she also made sure that the food we selected was to my tastes. You can tell that she loves what she does and the people in the restaurants and bars love her as well. She also found some hidden gems that only the locals know about. This tour was great to get my bearings and understand what sorts of food Madrid has to offer.

Must-do experience to find hidden gem restaurants!!

Lilian, our tour guide, was amazing and the sweetest! We had a big group and she made sure everyone was taken care of, staying aware of some of the group having allergies or not drinking alcohol. I have been living in Madrid for a bit now, and she still took us to some hidden gems that I had never heard of before that were delicious. She even left us with a list of more restaurants to try at the end of the night. We had a generous amount of food and choice of drink at every stop we went to. Definitely worth going on this tour for a true taste of Madrid!

Fantastic way to enjoy tapas and learn about Madrid

This was an amazing experience! Lillian was a terrific tour guide and gave us the history of the city as we traveled from restaurant to restaurant. She is very pleasant, interesting and knowledgeable. We learned more about the city from her tour than our later group tour. The food was delicious as were the drinks: manchego and tortilla de papayas (Spanish frittata with eggs and potatoes) paired with vermouth; small Spanish sausages cooked in a special sauce with red wine; calamari with albarino; Spanish garlic shrimp paired with a special sweet wine; and torrijas (dessert with fried bread with milk, egg, honey - excellent). Fortunately we had Lillian to ourselves. All places were crowded on a Saturday night, but Lillian was able to get us in and served quite easily. There was abundant food and drink. We actually went back to 2 of the places on our own later. Highly recommend.

An outstanding experience.

Overall an outstanding experience. Our guide Mart had an intimate knowledge of both the food scene of the area and Madrid’s history and culture. His relationship with the tapas bar owners is clearly well established and saw friendly and efficient service at all stops. Mart is also very personable and easy to get on with.

Great way to see Madrid at night!

This was a great way to see Downtown Madrid. Our tour guide, Mart, was highly knowledgeable, friendly, and enthusiastic. He took us to 5 outstanding locations. You will finish this tour very full and satisfied. Really, an outstanding experience.

Perfect!

Absolutely perfect tour. Great food and a lovely tour guide. Worth every second. It was a good way to spend our first evening in Madrid.

The meeting location was...

The meeting location was not clear at all, provided a very general location (plaza name only) with no street address. Our uber driver took us to the wrong location because there were multiple Plaza de Villa Calles. Once we realized we were in the wrong location we couldn't make the tour as we were about 25 minutes away. Plus we had problems finding an uber to accommodate 5 people. The tour should have provided a specific locale with street address that was very clear. Very dissatisfied.

Misinformed meeting location

We never took the trip We went to the wrong location. We had asked our hotel front desk twice about the drop off point, spoke with Uber driber and the pleople at the place we were dropped off All said we had right location. We were there 30 min early. The meeting place was not specific especially for people. The location providrd did not jane a street address and we did not know there were multiple locations. We ended up to far away to take the tour. I will be asking for a refund.

Not value for money at all

This was very poor value for money - although the guide Lilian was very personable the quantity and variety of tapas and drinks provided did not match the tour description. The tour was supposed to last 4 hours and ended just after 3 hours. Truly there are a lot of much better value tours out there so do the research and find one. We should have done that and seen that the reviews for this tour are few and far between.

Amazing food tour with Jose!

Jose was our guide and he was amazing! He shared his vast knowledge not only of food, but of Madrid. We had so much fun, ate wonderful food, and learned quite a bit as well. We all loved this tour!

Best Tour Guide Everrrr

Our tour guide, José, was terrific! He was so genuinely enthusiastic, friendly, kind, funny, and accommodating when it came to dietary restrictions (I’m a vegetarian). The other people on my tour (other tourists) were really nice too. I had a great time. If you’re on the fence, go ahead and book this!

Jose the best tour guide

Jose from Toledo was our tour guide and he was knowledgeable and passionate about the history, explaining along the way while providing great tapas and drinks! When asked random questions about the history he showed a varied and discret knowledge only a real local would know. I would 19 our of 10 recommend him as a tour guide and this tour as a crash course of madrid

Terrific tapas with running commentary from a local guide

I really enjoyed this tapas tour around the center of Madrid. The food was very tasty so bring your appetite. Also, our guide was very knowledgeable. She shared with us a lot of terrific info about local food, wine, Madrid, and Spain in general. The atmosphere was relaxed. Highly recommend.

Tapas Adventure Tour with Tapas Adventure with Natalia

We had a wonderful evening with Natalia , our Tapas Adventure Tour Guide. This was a private tour ( just my wife & I) and it was more than just a tapas hoping tour but rather a historical perspective of the many architectural buildings & monuments along the way. Natalia has a wealth of knowledge and in addition to the non touristy authentic tapa bars we visited, Natalia was certainty the highlight of our evening, engaging in great conversation while sharing her in-depth knowledge of Madrid and Spain. This is a tour not to be missed if your interest is in a bit of history while also experiencing and appreciating the authenticity of Madrid without a large group. The intimate experience with Natalia is one that we will remember for year to come.

No meeting point. No tour. No refund.

Ripped off. Booked Friday night for Saturday tour. The ticket/voucher provided did not include the meeting point for the tour and despite many calls the contact number provided remained unanswered. I called and emailed urban adventures Italian office but they were also unable to confirm the meeting point. I even went to the meeting point of another tour in case they were the same place. Viator is refusing to provide a refund despite there clearly being no meeting point on the ticket and having received a copy of the email chain and text messages with the Urban Adventures showing my good faith efforts to confirm the meeting point. They don’t give a damn. The real loss is the wasted evening and headache dealing with Viator when I should be enjoying my holiday. I will never book with them ever again.

Best food experience in Madrid - great value for money - loads of fun

I LOVED every aspect of the tour. This was absolutely the best way to experience the fascinating history of Madrid while feasting on the delicious local food and drink. We learnt so much and had such fun, Phillip the guide took us on a wonderful journey, it was as if we were a small group of friends just happily wandering the city together. Don’t eat beforehand as you get SO much food and drink on this tour you will be wishing you had space for more, so it is also great value for money. Phillip is an absolutely brilliant guide and a credit to Urban Adventures/Intrepid. This was a memorable experience I will keep for a lifetime.

Very much enjoyed the tour!

A great Tapas Tour. First time in Madrid and wanted to see more than usual tourist sites so booked onto this tour on our second evening of our trip. We visited 5 different Tapas spots with food and drink included at each stop. The guide was very informative and provided an interesting insight into the history of each place we visited, and the importance of Tapas to the culture of the Spanish people. He made us laugh with funny stories of the locals. and also provided us with some great options of other "local" places to visit during our time in the city. We met some great people on the tour which we ended up staying with for the rest of the evening, enjoying even more Tapas and wine. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and felt it was great value for money.

Amazing tour!

Alfonso was my guide for the Food walk. This was an unforgettable experience and I’ll highly recommend it. Alfonso will let you experience best of Spanish cuisine and wine while listening to interesting facts about Spanish history and culture. You’ll see places you’d never find on your own. He was also kind to recommend sightseeing spots activities to suit my personal taste. Well done! this tour is a must for everyone visiting Madrid.

Madrid Walking tour

This was a wonderful experience and tour to learn about the beautiful city of Madrid. Who knew that this city has so much to offer. The day before this tour my husband and I walked around the city on our own. We got a small taste of what the city was about but this Walking tour was a very pleasant and informative surprise. We learned so much and discovered that we had walked past places the day before that we had no idea what was behind the buildings and gates. Carolina our guide was able to point them out. She really knows her city!! We love history and Carolina is very knowledgeable about past and current events. One of our many favorite spots on tour was visiting a Chocolate and Churro’s restaurant- it was so cool and a very popular spot. Another favorite spot was visiting the LaLatina Market. There we met a former sommelier named Dani. Dani was fun and extremely knowledgeable. There we did olive oil tasting and yummy wine tasting. Dani also served us cheese, salami and tomatoes marinated in olive oil. We loved it!! You do not leave this place hungry. We further enjoyed seeing and learning of the trendy areas of the city. The tour was scheduled for a 4 hour timeframe- but we went over by a hour. Carolina was not worried about it - and we felt that she more then gave us our money’s worth! We could’ve easily walked around listening to her all day! Also very impressive was that she sent us a follow up email with answers to many of our questions along with a recap of where we visited. She was fantastic and we highly recommend this tour!!!

So much food.... delicous

Brilliant introduction to Madrid, the tour is not the cheapest out there but you need to factor in the quality and quantity of the food and wine included, I didn’t eat the rest of the day. I am traveling solo so not always easy /comfortable to try local foods /restaurants, this sort of food tour gives me the local experience. Thoroughly recommend and Carolina my guide was a delight and made the tour that much more enjoyable. I feel like I have a much better understanding of Madrid from a local and a list of ideas from her about how to spend my final few days in Madrid.

As soon as we met, Leila said we would have an evening of fun - and we certainly did. She was a great host and guide, introducing us to some well know + hidden gems of bars to try delicious local tapas and drinks. An excellent evening which we would certainly recommend to all foodies.

Evening Tapas Adventure with Urban Adventures

The tapas tour was excellent and a lot of fun. Our guide, Leila, was fantastic. She had a great historical knowledge of the places we visited and of the tapas and drinks. In addition she made the tour a lot of fun. Leila was one of the best guides I have had on these short tours. The tapas and drinks were great with plenty to eat and drink. Worth every penny!

Very well planned, great food and drinks. Each stop had multiple things for us to try that were already pre-selected for us including meat and vegetarian dishes. Daniela was our guide, and she was great! I would do the tour again because she provided the group with fun facts about the city and food, told stories about the places we stopped and saw along the way, and her humor made the evening even more enjoyable. Awesome experience provided by Daniela, so thank you for that!!

Fabulous first night foor tour in Madrid

Our first night in Madrid was spent on this walking tour with our host Daniela and a bunch of others. It was a very enjoyable evening with plenty of food and drink and an excellent introduction to Spanish food and culture. Daniela was knowledgeable and helpful and the tapas were outstanding.

Amazing Madrid tapas tour with Daniela

We did a Tapas Tour with Urban Adventures Spain in September and had a blast! Our guide, Daniela, was smart, funny, and engaging. She made an effort to get to know everyone on the tour and make each person feel welcome. She had useful information (like that there's a side entrace to La Reina Sofia and when to get sweets from the cloisters) and fun facts about Madrid that made the tour and our subsequent stay in Madrid even better. The food and wine stops were delicious. Even in some very crowded places, Daniela made her way through the crowds, jostling with the best of them, to get our food and find us comfortable places to enjoy the tapas. We just got to relax and devour delicious tapas and drinks while chatting with an awesome bunch of new friends. We also appreciated Daniela's follow-up email providing additional information on things to see and do in Madrid--so helpful and thoughtful. I did the Madrid evening tapas walk with Andrea! It was fantastic! Thanks to Andrea's entertaining and naturally flamboyant personality there was never a dull moment! We went to all the best places! Enjoyed a wonderful selection of tapas that was paired with beverages to compliment the food! Could barely stagger back to the accommodation! A top value night, special thanks to Andrea! :)

Dont allow yourself to miss this tour. If you have time for one tour - this is the one. Everything you expect from guides in a foreign city - especially unveiling the unexpected corners of the wonderful Spanish capital. Leila is using her wisdom talent and knowledge to run a brilliant and fun tour. One suggestion - this tour leaves a taste of mor and requires a sequel. Perhaps an evening itinerary. Alfonso was amazing!! Very knowledgeable and friendly. The tour itself was very organized and a unique experience. Alfonso really takes you through local hidden gems and gives you a very cultural tour. Loved it!!

Love at first bite

From the moment we met Daniella the fun began. She has a wonderfully bubbly personality. She took the time to get to know each of us in the group & then introduced us to each other. The entire group became fast friends. Daniella is well verse in the history of Madrid & knows where to get the best of every bite in Madrid. She introduced us to great food & drink. I discovered that I like vermouth, a lot! We enjoyed it so much that the day after we visited some of the same places to eat & drink again. This is the best way to get to know a city that I can think of.

Great Tour

This was an exceptional tour! My only regret is that we did it on our last day in Madrid (otherwise we would have eaten a whole lot better during our stay). I can’t say enough about Carolina. She is enthusiastic, knowledgeable, a natural people person, and took the time to engage with everyone in the group. In no time, she had everyone relaxed, happy and having a great time. I highly highly recommend this tour especially if you can get Carolina as your tour guide!

Tapas Tour

Daniela was phenomenal! She was so knowledgeable and introduced us to some of the best local restaurants, their foods, wine and history. I especially loved her energy and genuine excitement in wanting us to have the ultimate experience in Madrid. Loved her!
