Expensive but great

Excellent experience. My 23 year old son and myself took the class and it was wonderful. The food was amazing and Chef was great. Definitely an expensive experience but a great memory to have with my son.

Something different

Fun activity as a family. The chef was kind, helpful, and funny! We each had a couple of different things to cook. And then in the end we ate everything we prepared

Inaccurate description

The instructor was nice and approachable, food was pretty good, but it didn’t come with any wine pairings, just a small glass or two of sangria.

An Entry Level Tapas Class with Fellow Foodies

The class took under 3 hrs and participants worked together to put up 10 easy tapas, which doubled as dinner. Homero, our instructor, was positive and emphasized the important points to make each a success and answered questions regarding variations to the recipes that would work well.

Great way to learn and make tapas

We had a fantastic time learning and making a number of different tapas. Was so interactive without taking you out of your comfort zone.

Unfortunate Experience

Not a small cooking class, 16 people. Chef over worked trying his best to coordinate all the cooking at 5 stations by himself. The menu sounded amazing, the actual output of food was of quite a poor standard. The main chicken dish was gross. And 80% of the food was left untouched. It was a waste of time and money compared to a few other Cooking experiences I have had here in Spain.

Great Experience

Great time with our 20-something daughters. Learned about food and culture. Chef was entertaining and educational. Additional bonus was chatting with other attendees. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience, learned lots

Great experience, learnt lots of new techniques and not just recipes. Very knowledgeable chef able to answer all the questions and explain why. Everyone was kept busy most of the time, but the sangria was perfect when you weren't. Highly recommended. Only downside... I can't remember all the recipes. Something written down after would be great.

Good food, fun and Entertaining.

What a wonderful start to our three weeks in Spain. Three hours of enjoyment learning about Tapas and of course the culture behind the food style. Oh, did I say we prepared and consumed all the food and Sangria. Add this to your "must do's" as so as you arrive.

One of our favorite meals of the trip

The chef was friendly, knowledgeable and great to be around. He spoke a lot about the culture and history behind ingredients while giving us tips on how to prepare the tapas/how to modify the recipes to our needs/desires/limitations in ingredients from our home countries. He was also great for food recommendations around the city. Getting to eat a full meal of each of the things we prepared was fun and so yummy. Something to keep in mind is that there will be 10 tapas prepared in the two hour course, so the labor is divided and not everyone will do everything, but everyone can watch and learn, and of course taste the result. Great as a travel experience to learn more about the food and Spanish culture, and maybe try things you wouldn't usually order in a restaurant, but don't expect it to be an in-depth culinary course.

Fun Madrid experience

It was a fun group. I'm a solo traveler and everyone was friendly and engaging. The Chef included everyone in the making of everything. All dishes were delicious and we got the recipes!

We were a family of 6. This was in a cool part of town. Chef was great - had a great personality. This class is for all ages. We cooled a bunch of different tapas, with explanation behind all - then feasted. Definitely recommond!

Highlight of our Madrid Trip

Amazing experience! We completely enjoyed our Chef Homer and his staff. He mixed some history, traditions, and shared cooking tips. The menu was so tasty. Highly recommend.

FUN TIME LEARNING ABOUT TAPAS

The class was fun. Chef was well organized and everyone was put into groups easily. We got a little history as well as the actual tapas. It was more of a class for those learning to cook.

Great Experience

This was so much fun and the instructor was wonderful. It made me excited to try making the tapas we learned how to make because they are so simple yet so incredibly delicious. Excellent experience and my young adult children liked it too!

Wonderful tapas cooking!

Alex was amazing. Knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. We cooked about ten tapas with everyone doing different roles. Then we got to eat all of the them at the end. Washed down with sangria and water! Thoroughly recommended!

Bad taste in the mouth

Unfortunately I became very ill with a stomach flu during introductions and had to run outside to vomit. My friend followed me worried about my wellbeing. Someone called a cab to take us to our Airbnb. Neither of us had the opportunity to learn anything, cook, eat or got the apron as advertised. When I requested a refund due to the illness which prevented me from attending, the school refused to issue it. While it appeared to be a professional cooking school and our host seemed pleasant upon arrival, I would not recommend this business due to the lack of customer service. Very disappointing, sorry.

Great cooking class!

We loved this cooking experience. Our chef gave us information about how to cook the food, where the food originated, and its history. It was also fun to meet the other participants. One of our best meals in Madrid. Highly recommend!

Wonderful experience!

Excellent experience. Loved the assortment of food that we made. My husband and I have been to many cooking schools and this ranks among the top. The class is administered very professionally and efficiently. This happens because of the excellent coordination skills and talent of the chef instructor...Romero (Homer). Fun way to learn about and enjoy Spanish tapas

We had a great time. This was my wife’s activity for our stay in Madrid after doing several other tours. Omero was our instructor and did an outstanding job teaching us about the dishes, culture and history of food in Spain while also telling us how to make several dishes and involved everyone in making the food, which was delicious. We had fun and I would highly recommend this class.

Don't miss this great class.

This class was very interactive, and the chef was charming and informative. He provided a menu that represented tapas several regions of Spain, and engaged everyone in various aspects of prepping and cooking the dishes. We then shared a meal together, with some good sangria that the kitchen provided. It was a wonderful, enjoyable evening.

Excellent Chef Homera (sp?) Thoroughly knowledgeable, patient and friendly Super organized and approachable about any aspect of cooking. 10 amazing tapas made with a fun group .Highly recommended for everyone who cooks or never cooks! Super positive experience.

This was my favorite thing while in Madrid! Nothing like meeting new friends, sharing laughter and food! Chef Omer (Homer) was a delight. Highly recommend!

Great intro to Spanish tapas

This is a great introduction to tapas from all around Spain! Omero was a great teacher with excellent English so you never felt like you missed anything. He was especially good at taking into account my mum’s needs (she’s gluten-free). The class took about two and a half hours in total and it included sangria and water throughout.

Great Tapas Cooking Class

Very friendly and competent chef with awesome English skills + great recipes. We learned a ton and enjoyed the class a lot. We can recommend this cooking school without any hesitation.

Tour started on time and Chef Honero was a great with perfect English. Very informative about how to cook the dishes, not just simply following the recipes. Each course was chosen either to cover history, culture or traditions of Spain. Highly Recommended

Fun, engaging class!

The Chef was fantastic and engaging. Everyone participated in the prep work and cooking. Food was delicious! Learned about Spanish tapas and local nuisances. Great start to our vacation!

Awesome experience

Homer was incredible in explaining the dishes and made sure we all had a hand in making them. I probably over did it on the sangria but the delicious tapas were completed just in time!

A Nice Addition

A nice addition to our Spain family vacation. We spent 15 days on a tour traveling throughout Spain & had added a few days in Madrid for some free time. My husband, two daughters (aged 19 & 21), & I had decided on this small group tapas cooking class. It was so much fun. Very laid back & enjoyable. We were surprised at just how much food there was for dinner when we were finished. Plenty to take away if you so desired. The instructor was very informative & patient w/ everyone. Food was very good & there was plenty of sangria or wine to enjoy w/ your meal! Location was immaculately clean. Would highly recommend!

Excellent! Don’t miss this experience! Our chef was awesome and very patient with our group and with all our questions not just about cooking but about life in Madrid! And detailed with the tricks of his trade! We did this with family friends and they all loved it! Great family time! Perfect!

Superb team bonding experience

Wonderful experience during a cooking class with mid-sized group of friends (17)! Rosa, the chef was super involved and knowledgeable and made the experience fun for everyone! Highly recommended.

“This is Not for You”

I hate to talk poorly about a small business but this should be advertised more as a cooking demo than a class. In two hours I cut up some raw lamb. That’s it. For $71 Euros. I could get a cookbook, the ingredients and a few YouTube videos for less than half. The flaw is in their plan of attack - ten dishes in two hours. It’s impossible. Because of this, the “small” group of nine is sent off into corners to work on their one or two dishes, while the rest work on their own, without anyone learning about what the others are doing. Some dishes, like the cod, were made completely by the staff. It’s a hurried, manic affair that would do well to pair down the menu and actually let the guests…cook. Had the vegetarians not spoken up, they would have had two things to eat. The program is set. You are a cog in that day’s wheel. The space itself is wonderful and there is promise here, if they reconsidered the approach. Also, It was bit of a punch in the gut when at the end we all learned that the beautifully set table was for the next day. “This is not for you.” Also, I don’t care for onions and while I was fine to skip one dish, they did say that they would make one without. When in the end they forgot, it would have been easily forgiven, had the lead guy not quipped “He will like it with onions don’t worry”. Come on. You get a PDF menu. Excellent sangria is on the house. A price menu is given to you for anything beyond that.

Super and inspiring day. Skilled and very friendly chef

Super day with a very skilled and nice chef. Good food and good recipies to follow. For the price we payed one shoud have a free glas of wine or beer. But all in all a very good experience
