I would high recommended Ivan and Hussein. They did an excellent job. Ivan was very professional and knowledgeable. He provided additional recommendations for dinner options in London. Also, Hussein was a courteous and safe driver.

PLEASE AVOID ANY BOOKINGS WITH THIS COMPANY SPECIALLY IF YOU ARE AN INDIAN

This trip was the most harrowing trip of our life. The tour guide (Mr. Pablo) assigned by Golden Tours was rude to our group of 10 (6 Adults and 4 kids all aged under 13). During the trip he also neglected our queries and asked us to not bother him with any issues while he was happily talking and addressing to issues of other nationals. I feel very sorry to say that the company has preferential treatments. Our bus had broken down at Stonehenge and we were asked to wait for 1 hour (which we happily agreed) as the company was arranging for a replacement bus. However during our entire waiting time our group enquired about the bus for almost 4-5 hours to which he never gave a firm answer. It was only after 2 hours that we got to know that not only our tour to oxford was cancelled but he left our entire group which included 4 kids at Stonehenge, without intimating despite us waiting at the place suggested by him. Luckily the technical staff who was present there to repair our original bus had called the tour guide and asked him to come and pick us up. Upon questioning him, Mr. Pablo insulted us and made fun of our intellect in front of all the passengers of the bus we were accommodated on. Please note that stonehenge is a very faroff and a desserted place from where u dont have an easy access to any public transport and we were left their purposely by the tour guide with small kids fully knowing that the bus he left in was the last bus for the day. This incident was reported duly to the company on 10th June right after the incident via email and also on their call centre but we haven't received any revert from their end yet despite stating the seriousness of the situation. We also visited their office personally the next day morning but they were least bothered about the incident. It is difficult to explain our enitre ordeal in this review but I would sincerely request you to please avoid any bookings via this tour company especially if you are an Indian as the company and the tour guide don't appreciate Indians on their tour. I have no second thoughts in terming them as racists.....

Sunday with IVAN & SAHA

Thanks, Ivan and Saha for taking care of the group last Sunday. Covering Stonehenge , Windsor Castle, and Oxford in one day was surely challenging for both of you. But it was efficiently managed and we enjoyed Ivan's short lectures and sense of humor. Saha, thanks much for taking us to the places. You were so calm and cool 😉 . Again. This tour was absolutely horrible

On the 25th of May my wife, 2 friends and I took the Sterling Castle, Stonehenge, and Oxford day trip from London. The trip started out terrible and only got worse as the day went on. We were sitting on the bus before the start of the trip and had the guide snatch our breakfast from my wifes hand insisting that boiled eggs were fried chicken and no smelly food was allowed. Our Guide Chris was rude and obnoxious. We left London for Sterling Castle where we spent far more time driving and waiting in line than we were able to spend seeing the castle. Our next stop was Stonehenge. We had been looking forward to being there and taking photos and walking around the site. It was a seriously long drive to Stonehenge from Sterling Castle and our guide rambled on about absolutely nothing to do with Stonehenge. We got to the site and had an hour at most to wait in line for a shuttle bus visit the site for 5 minutes and get the shuttle back to catch our bus or be left. Several people got left behind. Next was again a long tedious drive to Oxford listening to more rambling. On arrival in Oxford we were told again we had an hour and a half there. It is a stop we could have done without. We returned to London after another long drive and rambling about nothing. The difference in this rambling he told us that tips were expected for he and the driver and the basket was on the dash at the front of the bus. I top if my service or tour is worthy of a tip. This guide Chris Was absolutely the worst.. he was rude and absolutely should not be a guide. Overall he made what could have been a good tour terrible. My wife owns a travel agency here in the U.S. and will not recommend or book this tour operator if this is how their people act when guiding a tour

The best guide I’ve ever had

The best guide I’ve ever had, ANA!!! It’s a great Spanish guide, cultured, concerned about people and very kind. Very recommended tour.

Perfect weather day to tour!

It was a very thorough tour and we were given good instructions from our tour guide, Lucy. We appreciate her direct communication to keep everyone on task and on time. The only reason we didn’t give it a 5 was there was no set lunch break, which was confusing, and we were not able to bring any food or drink on the bus in the morning. The castle was definitely worth going inside, as was Stonehenge, but we could have benefited from having more freedom from the onset in Oxford to explore at our own contempt. I would also share that the amount of walking wasn’t well noted in the booking experience and I would think people would want to know that.

My tour guide was Ana and she was amazing! Spunky, gave good directions and filled my head with some more knowledge My only gripe is that she had to pay for me to enter Windsor Castle cause the company did not put me on her list as needed. So please please reimburse her!!

Windso, Stone Henge and Oxford

We had a great tour with Ivan and Richard! We toured Windsor, Stone Henge and Oxford. Highly recommend going on Golden Tours.

Disappointed

A very hurried tour taking into account the distances covered first target was Windsor Castle at best 1 hour and it requires more than that Next was Stonehenge against about 1 hour which is consumed by the queue to and from the site by shuttle service Last Oxford very interesting college town where the better part of the presentation was offered the guide did not use a microphone and at times could not be heard clearly Give yourself more time or reduce the number of sights

Great for first UK trips

Great trip, would definitely recommend for a first trip to the UK. Our guide Oliver and the driver Jack were exceptional, friendly, efficient, and clearly cared that the group got the best experience possible without being overbearing. Worth it to get priority if you can book it!!

Great trip, excellent guide

We really enjoyed our tour, Stonehenge is something to see. Comfortable bus and our guide Stefan was great! Very knowledgeable and able to answer any questions we had.

Awesome Taste of England

The tour guide Oliver was fantastic! Extremely knowledgeable, engaging, and well-organized. He made the tour informative and fun, handling all logistics seamlessly. Highly recommend! The driver Richard was awesome as well.

A lot to see

Oliver an Richard did very well taking good care of us. Oliver preparer us well and gave tons of practical advice including what was a «must see».

The best tour ever

Oliver and Richard were absolutely phenomenal tour guide! From start to finish, our guide was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also made the entire experience engaging and fun. He had a knack for weaving historical facts with interesting anecdotes, making even the most complex topics easy to understand and enjoyable.

A Winsor Castle-Stonehenge-Oxford day trip led by an unprofessional tour guide (Golden Tours)

Recently, we traveled from the US to London for vacation and took a Winsor Castle-Stonehenge-Oxford day trip offered by Golden Tours from London on May 2, 2024. In general, it was a poorly organized tour managed by a totally unprofessional tour guide (Lucy). Firstly, the boarding process was not efficient, which caused a 25-min delay in departure, and then followed by additional 35-min delay (not traffic related) from London to Winsor Castle. Due to these unnecessary delays (60 min.), we had to rush through at the Winsor Castle site. There was not enough time for us to take a quick lunch. Despite the situation, there were no apologies at all from the tour guide. Secondly, the tour guide was unfriendly and arrogant. On the tour bus, she explicitly expressed some racial bias against Chinese and Spanish travelers. Overall, we don’t feel that Golden Tours had provided us with a decent tour of good quality we paid for. It would be unwise for us to use Golden Tours again.

Amazing sights!

Oscar was an excellent guide! He made the trip informative and gave us many tips and useful suggestions when we went on our own. The only challenge we had were the long lines and trying to grab food before heading back to the bus. We were happy, however, to have seen all three destinations. Just beautiful! Also, kudos to Jess for being such a a skillful driver.

Lucy is the BEST!

Great tour. Wonderful driver and Lucy was an amazing tour guide! Lots of laughs and lots of information. She gave lots of tips and tricks and it was helpful. Would recommend this tour 100%!

Great crew, comfortable trip, great tour

My mother and I joined this tour together, and from the beginning till the last, our tour guide Amanda was so helpfull, so kind and also professional, also our driver luciano -as İ remembered his name- drove fast but safely, and he was also very polite. We are from Turkey and definatelly satisfied with their hospitality. Highly recommended.

Awesome Tour

The tour was awesome! Stefan was a great guide and very enthusiastic Vic was a great driver. We all had an awesome time. Windsor castle was my favorite.

Great but short trip

The trip was amazing. Oliver is a great tour guide. He also speaks german. We wished that the trip would take longer so that we could see everthing in detail.

Rock concerts

Went on this trip with little expectations as I wanted to see Stonehenge only. It turns up fantastics with the tour guide Mel. He was super experienced and gave good history and information bringing the stones to life. Also manage to pay tribute to the late Queen at Windsor Castle where she is buried. It is a nice surprised. In addition, nice sunny weather makes the trip even better.

Day trip to Windsor Castle, Stonehenge and Oxford

Our guide Oscar and driver Jess kept our larger group on track all day. We didn't have a long time at each place but Oscar gave great information on the way to each location and there was enough time to get an overview of the each place. We appreciated Oscar's knowledge and experience. He was kind and provided a good day for numerous sites.

Do not take this tour

Worst experience of my life! - guide was from South Korea and did not speak english fluently - he was not actually a guide, as he did not teach us anything, we just read from wikipedia while riding the bus. At the destinations NO GUIDED WAS PROVIDED - this “guide” actually advised not to take the audio guide at the Windsor because it will take too much time. How can a guide tell you this!?!??? - once we arrived at the castle, all he could say was “this is the castle”, “this is the toilet”, “this is the exit” - we stayed longer in queues because he did not count correctly and he bought less tickets than necessary -at Stonehenge we left without 2 of the tourists, because they were late, then we had to come back to pick them - no useful information provided, no time for lunch break, everything was EXTREMELY RUSHED, “you have 10 seconds to go to the bathroom”. -basically you pay for a disgustingly overpriced transportation, as there is NO GUIDING

A bit disappointing

While we were overall a bit disappointed let's start by saying our tour guide Anna was great. She was energetic, knowledgeable, and very helpful. The issues we had however didn't make up for it. To start with, this was not the tour we signed up for but ours (Windsor, Stonehenge, and Salisbury) was canceled the day before and this was the only option given other than canceling altogether. So that was disappointing. Secondly, we signed up for "premium seating" which is a joke. Unless you happen to be the first people there with this option and get the front seats you are a row behind and are in the same seats as everyone else - don't waste your money on the upgrade. The timing of the tours was terrible. As others have said, you do not have enough time at Windsor. Yes, the bus arrives around 9. Then you stand in line outside for a half hour (for us it was pouring down rain and freezing cold). Finally, they let you into the registration and security area at 9:30. You get through that and onto the castle grounds only to find out nothing inside opens until 10. Another 15 - 20 minutes waiting outside in the freezing rain. We had enough time to run through the staterooms, leave the castle, grab lunch to go, and get back to the bus. On to Stonehenge, which was great, but it was windy and cold and we spent the majority of our 2 hours inside the visitors center. We can't blame them for the weather, but you don't need 2 full hours at Stonehenge. Then to Oxford. Cute little town and Anna was great walking us around, but we were tired, cold, wet, and ready to head home. Again, we can't blame Golden for the weather but the organization could have been much better and we are still very disappointed that our original tour was canceled without much notice. (We didn't really have time to research Oxford to know what to try to see.) Bottomline - don't pay for an upgrade - not worth it and expect to be rushed through Windsor, which probably had the most to see and would have been the best use of extended time.

Loud radio but knowledgeable tour guide

Knowledgeable and fun tour guide, would recommend leaving the loud radio music off on all the drives everywhere. It was hard to listen to anything on my AirPods due to the radio on so loud.

Wonderful day trip out of London

We had a lovely day with Stefan and Mario! Lots of laughs and good time keeping. We liked the option of choosing the tour without entries to everything so we could choose which we wanted to do.

Great trip

Windsor Castle and Stonehedge was on my bucket list and neither was disappointing.. Oxford was a bonus...

Awesome and fun!

It was so awesome to see so much in just one day! Perfect thing to do when you have little time to see things :) highly recommend it. Each time at each place is quick but enough to get the main highlights. Boyfriend and I loved it!

Don’t spend time to search all options

Ana and Vicky are obviously the best! They are both so friendly, easy going and enjoyable. Ana is ver knowledgeable and smiling and Vicky drives smoothly and carefully. If you are considering to visit somewhere in London, Golden Tours is the best option, and if you are lucky as us you will get Ana and Vicky! Thank you again!

It’s really a good day to Oxford, Windsor Castle and Stonehenge with Richard from Evan Evans. He is such an experienced and thoughtful guide who think what’s the best arrangement for us. His arrangement gave us time in waiting. We could fully enjoy the day and spots without waiting in lines. His introduction to the spots was detailed and interesting which aroused mushroom interest from me. Thanks for all the effort of Richard.

Great Tour!!

The Windsor castle experience was amazing!! Going to Oxford and seeing the largest bookstore in UK nice. Stonehenge was amazing. The bus ride was smooth and on point with timing. Our tour guide Stephen was so Informative and fun to be around.

Very good

Nice trip. Guide Stefan was amusing and knowledgeable. Driver was very competent. I only wish there had been more "people comfort" info available. I.e when there would be a bathroom opportunity and when and where we could eat. If I had known there was no built-in lunch opportunity I would have brought something instead of having to make due with the paltry fast food options we were limited to given the time frame allowed at each stop.

Great trip with Golden tour

We joined the 1-day-tour to Windsor, Stonehenge and Oxford tour on Mar 24. Everything is well organized, and good time control. We love the guide Danxia very much. Her speaking is well prepared, professional and very clear, very easy to understand. This is the first time we visit UK and she gave us general ideas about the culture and history. The coach is comfortable. Ferhat is a safe driver. Very impressed trip! Really appreciated.

A great experience

This was an excellent tour. Our guide, Oliver was very knowledgeable and incredibly charismatic. He answered all of our questions with ease and gave great recommendations for the remainder of our time in London. Our motorcoach driver, Kieran navigated the trip with ease and we felt safe the entire time.

Lovely sites with minimal information

The sites from a visual perspective stood out as the most memorable aspect. Would have been nice to have been given more historic background considering we were together for 10 hours. Only 1 hour of info was provided. Your guide was very knowledgeable but not forthright in speaking about history. Also tour itself did not mention that there would be no tour of Windsor castle itself ( although there was vague disclaimer language in description), and could instead have offered lunch which was mentioned as a feature when we registered for the tour. They also should have emailed the group to tell them to bring lunch or snacks if they wanted or needed to.

Great Experience

The staff and timing were great. However, we couldn’t visit Windsor castle and that was a bit of a disappointment. They should’ve let’s know it in advance and not right on the road.

Very nice but don’t waste anytime.

It was pretty cool and rainy that day. Waiting for almost an hour outside in the weather was the reason I gave it 4 stars. Inside the castle was very interesting and beautiful. The self guided tour was also very nice. We had a quick bite to eat towards the end of the Windsor tour. There was not much time to waste in order to get back to the bus in time for our next stop. We did Windsor, Stone Henge and Oxford in one long 12.5 hrs. All seemed hurried since you spend over 6 hours in the bus.

Great Tour! Great Experience!!

The tour experience was great!!. The tour guide, Danxia, gave clear instructions, knowledge sharing, friendly and resourceful. The ride was comfortable and Big Tony was a very cautious and smooth driver all day long. Would definitely take another Golden Tour with this pair!! A&S
