Great experience

Great tour. Host Kath was fantastic. Went above and beyond when the road at pickup point was closed and it was also cold and raining.

Great trip!

This was a great trip. I was picked up at Victoria Station but due to trafficking jam went of at Earls Court.

Pretty good ride.

The tour guide and transportation were good! If you don't want to deal with getting yourself to the location, this is a great deal. However, once you're at the castle you are on your own. This isn't a bad thing, but if you can take the train to Windsor on your own it's much more affordable.

Busy Windsor

Nice bus and information provided on the ride out. A half day is not enough time to fully explore Windsor. The day we visited it was very busy and there were long lines. Very fast drive from London!

Windsor

The pick up was late and disorganized. You are totally left on your own when you get there. Almost impossible to find your bus when you leave, plus we left late from there too.

Nick and Tony are the bomb! Tony got us there in time for the Changing of the Guard. And Nick kept us organized and entertained. Highly recommended!

Windsor (Dreamy) Castle

Excellent tour with great service by Anderson Tours. Enough timing and great weather for optimal experience. And, we were in luck to see the King while there - what a coincidence :)

Nightmare

Please do not book. It’s a mere 35 minutes taxi ride for which I paid almost 600$ dollars. The guide was useless After a 35 minute ride , an exhausting walk because he didn’t care that there were elders and children, he left us at the ticketing area to figure things on our own This so called tour is a 35 minute taxi service, nothing else They are thieves Would never recommend Anderson travels I would ask for a full refund minus the entrance fee to the castle Wish me luck

Worth the money.

Bus arrived on time. Guide stayed with us until we went through the security at Windsor. It would have been great to have more commentary on the bus regarding the history of the areas we were travelling through. The stories the guide shared were interesting and he was a great storyteller. King Charles was presenting to the Irish Guard on the day we attended, this was definitely a bonus!

All of the wonderful sights within the castle but especially St. George’s chapel. It really needs to be a couple of hours longer.

A nice family trip to Windsor

We enjoyed our trip to Windsor Castle very much. The guide was entertaining and very helpful, and the ride was a smooth one. We were able to walk around Windsor at our own pace and enjoy the scenery. I do wish we could have had a little longer there, but two hours was OK. All in all, we were happy with the trip.

Not worth the money

Tour guide was not particularly informative. The bus did not have working A/C. We spent 15 min. On the side of the highway while the tour guide and bus driver tried to get the A/C to work. Due to this delay we missed the changing of the guards at Windsor. Windsor itself was nice once we finally made it inside. Only positive was skipping the long lines as a group, once we arrived. We decided to Uber back instead of ride the bus back home.

Spectacular!

We did a half day tour out of London. It is not enough time so spend the day, it’s spectacular! The audio guide is quite good but I think one can also hire a guide inside the castle.

Windsor Castle was a must see for us, unfortunately this trip was much too short.

The trip was as pretty much as described. Pick up was convenient and on time. Our on bus tour guide was adequate. The reason we are only able to rate it average is that it is NOT enough time to adequately see the castle complex. The lines to get in to see the Doll House and state rooms were extremely long. We were able to see the doll house, but by the time we saw that it was already time to head back to bus to make the trip back to London. With travel time there and back we only had about 1 hr 45 min to see complex. We strongly suggest the tour company lengthen the time available at the castle by at least a couple hours! We would like to have spent significant more time exploring castle grounds, seeing the gardens and even possibly getting across the river to see a bit of Eton before returning to London.

Worth while visit.

Windsor Castle was a great visit. I would recommend more than a half day to get to see it all and also visit the outside town of Windsor.

Callum was great! I was so glad that he suggested we see St. George's Chapel first because that was the main thing I wanted to see and I was able to get in before the line was too long.

A little high for what you get.

Definitely not a tour but a trip. Pretty much it's transportation to and from. There us a brief overview on the bus but that's it. It does prevent a long wait to get into the castle. Essentially you are paying for ease. Nothing else. Price us high for what you get. Shout out to Sofie though. Her kindness and excitement was nice to be around.

Windsor Day Trip

The tour is billed as a “half day” at Windsor. In reality, it’s about an hour and a half at Windsor. The difficulty is that it takes about forty minutes to an hour to pick everyone up and get there and then thirty minutes or so to get to the gate and go through security. It then takes an equal if not longer amount of time to get back due to London traffic. This leaves about an hour and a half to actually explore Windsor Castle. And it’s impossible to do much, if anything, in the town itself. The castle itself is interesting enough. There are three main areas: Queen Mary’s dollhouse, the state rooms, and King James’ Cathedral. Expect long queues to get into each. The queue to the dollhouse was so long that it would have been impossible to see in time. I’m not sure anyone in our group tried. Our tour guide was pleasant and energetic enough, but possessed little helpful knowledge regarding Windsor Castle. His sole job appeared to be to get us to the gates. Rather than useful tips about how to navigate the site or interesting facts, he instead regaled the bus with a story of how he was once part of a circus. Entertaining? Questionable. Useful? No. What would have been far more useful is a preview of what we were going to see, recommendations on how to best spend the little time we actually had, and some basic directions. All in all, everything you can do at Windsor, you can get a similar and slightly better experience elsewhere. Interested in where the Royal Family stays? Go to Buckingham for a much more enjoyable tour. Want to see a beautiful church? Go to Westminster. Want to see a fancy dollhouse? Harrods, I guess? Utterly skippable. Would not recommend to anyone I knew unless they simply ran out of things to do in the UK.

Winsor Castle Half Day

My trip to Winsor Castle was a wonderful experience. I was running just a few minutes late because I was lost, but they called me to see if I was okay and to direct me to the bus. I was just a block away. Callum was my guide and he was very nice and accommodating. Adam was our driver. He got us there and back safely. Callus shared some random funfacts and history and, of course, had a sense of humor about it. The tour itself was great, Winsor Castle is a must see. St. George's Chapel is beautiful and ornate. The Queen and Prince Philip are also laid to rest there. All in all it was a wonderful experience!!!

Tour guide Callum helped the time at Windsor go well. Time was a bit rushed. Beautiful place to visit.

Inconvenient Pick up Spot

The meeting place for the bus was very inconvenient- busy road with no shelter available- and far away from our hotel. The main benefit of this tour was skipping the admission line at Windsor. As the return drop off point was the same as the pick up point, we decided to take the train back from Windsor to Waterloo station, which was within walking distance of our hotel. We probably should have used the train service both ways.

Beautiful day in Windsor!

Beautiful castle! We especially enjoyed seeing the royal state rooms! Easy transportation to and from.

Terrible way to tour a great place

This is a very bad way to tour Windsor castle and is a pure tourist trap— this “private coach” takes you to the public coach stop, and the guide will briefly hold up an umbrella and let you in the castle, where you need to wait because the castle security doesn’t respect this tour. There you get the common audio guide. Castle is great but this is a very expensive bus. Tour guide was so fast and inattentive that they left people behind before we got to the castle, they left a woman struggling with a pram in the dust. It would be much better to go alone on public and go at your own pace

A must see tour!!!!

Far more than I expected! Amazing tour! If you’ve never been to Windsor Castle, you must go. Walk the same halls as Queens and Kings!

Ok but some issues…

The review would have been 4 stars IF the bus bathroom would have been clean, had soap, or flushed. It was/had none of the above. Guide on the bus was good and even helped when we left a phone on the bus. The castle was beautiful but understand that the guide does not accompany you in- only gets you to the entrance so I feel like that could be clearer. Also- we were not dropped off at our meeting point after- taken to the second stop which put us further away from our hotel.

Not worth the money

Late pick up time. We were picked up at earl’s court at around 10:15-10:20. Not organized. Not enough time to roam around the windsor castle. Tour guide does not have enough confidence.

To Visit Royalty, Must Go To Windsor!

St. George’s Chapel, the grounds and state rooms, and not to forget The Horse & Groom pub just outside the castle walls did not disappoint!

Windsor Castle is a must do on your itinerary however make your own way there.

The architecture and history surrounding Windsor Castle is fascinating and so worth the trip there. However, I wouldn’t advise going with this tour group, as I was left to buy my entry ticket despite having paid for the half day tour. Apparently the tour guide was meant to issue a wristband for entry into the castle however, I wasn’t told that this was the protocol and didn’t receive mine. The Tour Company have advised that they won’t issue a refund for the additional €33 ticket.

Amazing trip to Windsor Castle & town.

It was such a great sunny day and we loved exploring the castle on our own. The guide was informative and helpful. Had plenty of time to see the castle and have lunch in town.

Hassle free and fun

Our Tour Guide Hayley and bus driver Errol did a fabulous job of this tour. We hot some great info on history before we arrived in Windsor which set the scene for our tour of the castle. Thanks for making it an enjoyable and hassle free tour!

No photos inside the building!!!!

The reason I gave the trip the score I did was because I think they should tell you upfront that you’re not going to be allowed to take photographs inside the building. For someone who enjoys photography, this was very very disappointing. Why is it not part of the information when you purchase the trip ? As for the trip itself, the tour guide was fabulous the Transportation was excellent. Everything else was perfect.

The castle was amazing. A do not miss site. The tour was way to short. Had to rush through the castle to make it back to the bus. Need at least 2 more hours there. So much to see. TAKE A FULL DAY TOUR.

Short trip / long line to doll house

Quick trip, not quite enough time to see everything. Doll house line was ridiculously slow and long. Otherwise a good way to get the Windsor Castle experience in half a day.

If you are late, you will not be refunded. BUYER BEWARE!

Unfortunately, we did not get to go to Windsor. Our Uber driver took us to the wrong Victoria station. We called the number on our voucher, and we did not get a callback for 10 minutes. The person we talked to was NOT the tour driver. By the time we got to the right place, the tour driver had left. There was no accommodations to come get us. We just got word that we are not eligible for even half of our ticket price. We will not be using this tour company ever again.

Mom and Daughter do London 2024

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the town of Windsor and walking the castle grounds. It’s a beautiful area and so quaint. We enjoyed a tasty cup of Gelato as well. Our tour guide Calum, did an awesome job sharing his knowledge on the sites and areas visited.

Windsor Castle

Our guide was very good and succinct and was well versed in the history of the Castle and the area around.

Too short. Our bus driver was very late but even if that wasn’t the case, the 1/2 day trip wasn’t nearly enough time. We ran through everything. Ended up with only an hour and 40 minutes. Go on your own and spend the day.

Half-Day trip needs at least 1 more hour

The bus was 20-25 minutes late picking us up due to traffic in London. We got to the castle and by the time you park in the bus area and walk to the castle, then go through security, we only had 1:50 minutes before we needed to be leaving the castle in order to be back at the bus. If any of the main 3 exhibits have any waittime, you will not have enough time to see everything. Additionally, you will not have anytime to see any of the town and shops of Windsor that surround the Castle. We chose to go directly to the Catherdral, followed by the State apartments. The Dollhouse had a 40 minute queue. For more flexibility, it may be worth looking into buying tickets directly from the Castle website and going to Windsor via Rail or Uber or looking into an All-day Windsor trip.

Do Not Book This Trip

I do not recommend this tour at all. Was supposed to be picked up at 9:50, and there was traffic so bus was late which is understandable. Bus arrived around 10:15am. But, as soon as we're on the bus and almost at Windsor almost 11am, our guide announced that we only have until 1:15pm. Which is ridiculous because we arrived at Windsor at 11am. It's considered a half day trip which is more like two hours. The lines are so long to get into the state apartments and the chapel, you barely have time do go through the state apartments without rushing. This is definitely a waste of money and you don't have time to explore the town of Windsor. Avoid at all costs!!!!!

Windsor in less that two hours

Windsor Castle is wonderful! The tour however isn’t. They picked us up and we had less than two hours to see the whole thing. It wasn’t nearly enough time. We literally ran through the whole thing which was necessary to make the bus. We even left two behind. I can see why they stayed - you couldn’t see it all.

Windsor tour good but pricy for what it was.

The tour was good and we chose it based on the fact that it was only for Windsor Castle and listed as a 1/2 day tour. I would have preferred if the description was more specific as to the time that you had to explore the castle. By the time we actually got into the castle, it was after 9:45…I was expecting to get in by 8:30 (wrong assumption). It was also noted that we would have time to explore the town of Windsor, which we did not. It is good to note that the tour guide does not give you a tour of the castle, although she was very nice and did comment some along the way. As another reviewer wrote, they ride the coach with you and give you a wrist band for entrance and that was that. I almost feel like we could have gotten an Uber or train and spent as long as we wanted.

Windsor Castle a must see but...

Windsor Castle is a must see experience! However, be aware that this tour is merely a bus ride there and back. The tour includes admittance into the castle, but you are on your own with limited time to see St. George's Chapel, the Queen's Dollhouse, and the Staterooms. The queues were long so we had to rush through the Staterooms (actually had to end 3/4 of the way through) and didn't make it to the Dollhouse. Callum was very nice but there was little that he did as guide other than ride the bus with us and give us our wrist bands. The castle is located within a charming town with shops and restaurants so we would personally plan this differently if there's a next time. Also, it should be noted that once you follow the directions to exit the Earl's Court Station on Warwick Road, you walk to the right and cross the street a block or two up. Look for the bus stop with a C on top.

Wonderful Windsor!

Calum was a wonderful guide! The half day tour is a bit too rushed because the castle is extremely crowded and hard to move through. You really need more time but if you don’t want an overly long day this is a perfect way to get out and see Windsor Castle and pay your respects to the Queen!

We have booked our last tour with this company.

The bus was late, they parked about 10 minutes away from the venue. ( I am handicapped, ) and thought a drop off in front or side would have been more appropriate. The guide read a script during the end of the ride going to the venue. Unfortunately, his reading skills were slow. While in line for entry to the Castle, we had to wait for everyone on the tour to get a wrist band. That process could have been improved by having people put their own bands on, instead of the guide doing every wrist which took 20 minutes of our timed visit.

Great trip!

Calum was a great and gave us all the information we needed to enjoy our time exploring the castle. We had a wonderful trip!
