Ultimate London Food Tour: Borough Market & Southwark

I would have given this tour 5 stars, but bloggers took part in our tour and impacted the experience for those of us who paid for the tour. Dani, the guide was exceptional. The members of the tour felt awful for Dani as these bloggers slapped a microphone on her and just slammed her with cameras and video recorders. No one wanted to ask questions after these late arriving bloggers joined our tour. That said, the food was varied and well placed in order of tastings. I have taken numerous Devour tours in many different locations and the food and structure has always been good. I do hope Devour thinks twice before giving away free tours to bloggers while having them participate with real paying customers. And FYI, I did write directly to Devour my concerns prior to writing this public review but did not receive a response.

Guide, tour, food 👌🏻

1) Dani was the best guide! Her knowledge and humor throughout was the perfect accompaniment to the delicious food. She effortlessly had our group interacting and having a great time with one another. My friend and I really enjoyed our time with her and the group. 2) The tour itself is curated so well. It’s spaced out to have you tasting some amazing food interspersed with historical knowledge of some important sites in the area. I learned a lot! 3) Devour Tours has some great relationships with the vendors, and the spots they have picked out for the tour are 👌🏻. Great balance between dishes and you only go to the best spots. (In fact, my friend and I can’t wait to go back to some of them!) Overall, this tour is a must. (By the way - this was my first food tour and this certainly won’t be my last. And I’ll be choosing devour tours 😉.)

Fantastic food & Alice was wonderful!

DO NOT MISS THIS TOUR! My husband and I LOVE Devour tours and take one in each city that we visit. We always try to do it on our first full day as it is the BEST way to learn about local customs, local foods, and support, truly, family owned businesses. London was no exception! And if you think London does not have good food, boy are you mistaken! We were lucky enough to Alice who was knowledgeable, kind, and extremely witty! She was efficient, made sure we hit all the right stops, and always ensured that we had plenty of tasters! I am not posting any photos as I do not want to spoil any of the deliciousness including a humble addition (*wink*). She also gave us some free time to explore the market which was really fun. Whether its your first time in London or you've been there before, definitely definitely definitely worth adding this to your list!

The guide was really great and very knowledgeable about London history. Food was excellent and the market experience was wonderful.

Great way to see/eat your way through London!!

Becki was an amazing guide! Funny, personable, and informative, it was easy to converse with her and ask her any question on our minds. Also, the food choices were superb - I was so impressed! Never would have known to visit this market/specific vendors otherwise, and so grateful I did!

Borough Market- all the tastes

Sue was an amazing guide!!!! She made the tour easy to follow and enjoy. It’s perfect for solo travelers, as a way to work around the city and taste things we’ve seen on Instagram.

Great Way to See An Interesting Part of Town

This was a great tour. Peter was a fabulous guide. My only recommendation is to consider shortening it by an hour, and let people explore on their own after the tour...rather than in the middle. We were disappointed we didn't get to go to the restaurant under the bridge due to it being closed.

We had a great day! Timing was excellent as we were able to avoid huge ques and move at our own pace.

Disappointment, not costumer friendly, in a situation that was totally out of our control

We had our flight cancelled to onion the day before our booked tour…we cancelled 24 hours and 40 minutes….they say 24 hours notice, this is not true, as we where denied a refund, and purely a reason that was totally out of our control, as we where forced to stay another nite in Budapest….total disappointment, all around

Excellent experience for food and history!

Our guide Billy was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the food, culture and history. We really enjoyed all of it and highly recommend this tour! Don’t eat before you go!

Borough market food tour!

We had the most wonderful experience at the Borough Market food tours with devour tours during our trip couple of weeks back. It was such a lovely morning, great weather and being greeted by the most amazing guide I’ve seen, Billie! She’s really great and I would totally recommend her anytime. We were brought about the market trying different kinds of highlights and traditional food from the Bacon egg Bap from broods, super fresh Oysters,the Ginger pig sausage roll, the Humble Crumble for the Instagram worthy pretty pink desserts, to one of the best fish&chips we’ve ever tried, finishing off to a lovely Port, sticky pudding and cheese platter. I could go on about how delicious they all are but what’s even better, was how they were specially served in portions that are exclusively for tours, so you get to try the best grub without being too stuffed after. How perfect! With each dish, we were treated to a history of each by Billie and she was so meticulous even in bringing us to hidden and special spots we will otherwise probably not notice. She even took us to Harry Potter’s filming location and brought us on a historical visit to the Southwark cathedral where we could visit William Shakespeare’s statue and be in the garden when he used to frequent. We had wonderful tour mates too and despite it being a short few hours, we even went on an extended tour together visiting the spots Billie recommended. It really was an amazing tour day and we couldn’t get enough of it! So great that we went back to Borough market for bigger helpings of some of the selections we had.

Don’t eat breakfast before this tour!

Billie was fun, knowledgeable and funny. She knew her way around the market and chose good vendors. She added personal stories to introduce the food items.

Fabulous Food Tour

This tour was fantastic! Everything I hoped it would be and more! Billie was our guide and she was warm, friendly and knowledgeable. She was very well organized and guided us through the maze of Borough Market and Southwark with ease, all while giving us interesting and valuable information. and then there's the food! Oh my goodness! Every generous sample was beyond delicious! This was truly one of the best experiences I had while visiting London (and I did a lot of cool things). Don't hesitate to book this tour. You will love it!

Food Glorious Food

This was above and beyond what I was expecting. The Guide was knowledgeable and passionate about the history and the food that we were trying. It was a real celebration of British Cuisine at its best. I would highly recommend Devour tours, well organized, informative and fun.
