Tower of London: Entry Ticket, Crown Jewels and Beefeater Tour

A must see in London

We had passed by the tower on a previous trip, but did not do the tour. This time we (my daughter and I) did the tour on a whim. We bought tickets around 2:00 and the tower closed at 5:00 or 5:30 so that gave us just enough time. We walked on the yeoman (beefeater) tour and it was very interesting and informative. Our guide was very enthusiastic and engaging. We could have stayed longer. The inside of the tower exceeded my expectations. Wonderful tour for families, couples or friends or singles.

Excellent! Entertaining tour guide! Such a cool experience!

Was such a great tour guide. Yeomen Warden Derek(not sure if that’s his name) see picture of him attached, he was so entertaining and kept everyone engaged. All of the tourists in our group were quiet because he made it so exciting everyone wanted to be able to hear what he was saying. The tower was really interesting. Such a cool experience to walk thru history. We didn’t see the Crown Jewels. That line was too long for us. The overall experience was wonderful.

Read this before you book

I value and trust Trip advisor but this is a Scam. This cost buys you nothing that you cant get booking direct, and it left off some important information Just book direct and preorder an audio guide. Get there 30 min before opening. Go directly to the Crown Jewels. Then get your audio guide you walked past. Then go to the moat on the 1/2 hour to get the free Beefeater tour. Then explore at your leisure

Lots of History to See!

While we heard that it's best to get there early in the day, we weren't able to. Our tickets were for a 2pm entry and had no issues with a line or large crowds to get in. Definitely make sure to take a tour with a Yeoman Warder - it's included with your entry ticket. Our tour was with Yeoman Warder Darren and he was funny and very informative. There's so much history to go through and he did a great job to take us through the history of the Tower. We then went to the queue for the Crown Jewels and it only took us about 10-15 minutes to get inside. After that...lots to take in at the White Tower (truly THE Tower of London!). Lots of steps...they say 204, but we lost count! It was a really enjoyable visit.

Brilliant Tour and Facility

Our Yeoman was brilliant and engaging along with very humorous moments when speaking about the Tower. It’s an amazing place and its significant impact to that country is truly felt. All in all highly recommend this to anyone.

Must See

The size of this place is way bigger than it looks! Loved the “Beefeater@ tour guide. So much to see. Stopped for a bite to eat at one of the cafes. Good food. So much history here. Awesome experience.

No directions for a meeting spot

We tried to contact the tour guide to find where our meeting place was. They never responded. So we just got in the line to go into the Tower but we're not able to see the Crown Jewels due to the impossibly long lines. One of the main reason we booked this tour was to see the Crown Jewels. So needless to say we are very disappointed with the tour guide, directions for a meeting place and Viator.

Tower of London is fantastic but very little tour offered

Good , as it’s The Tower of London, which is awesome but due to bad weather we only got a 20minute talk inside one of the chapels from a Beefeater and there was no Crown Jewels tour offered. Booked this in a hurry and maybe expected more.

Tower of London, Tower Bridge

Another great stop. In London. Easy Tube access. Pictures allowed. Lots of history. Self guided tours. Nice restaurant. The White Tower was incredible and the Crown Jewels were very impressive.

Highly recommend the Beefeater tour. Our Beefeater was awesome. She knew so much stuff!!! And there was a line for the Crown Jewels after our tour and it went so quickly. Don't let it detour you.

Beefy 409

Had an amazing surprise trip for my birthday on Sunday 16th June with my daughter, grandson age 11 and granddaughter age 8. We were lucky enough to have Scott Kelly aka Beefy 409 as our tour guide. His enthusiasm, humour and bubbly personality made the tour really enjoyable for both adults and children. Would thoroughly recommend. Thank you to everyone at the Tower of London for an amazing day out.

Tower visit

We had a great time. The tour with the beefeater was fun and informative. It was pitched at just the right level. We then explored for ourselves. Everything was well explained. Vert informative and enjoyable

This was such an awesome tour and our tour guide was an actual beefeater who was very educated and u formative and witty as we. She was wonderful!

Crown jewels

Seeing the crown jewels. A bit disappointed we were not able to have a guided tour. The talk from a beefeater was a good substitute. The weather proved to be a big downer. It was a shame we were not aware that the weather would have such an effect on the visit.

Amazing historical tour

The Tower of London is a must see when visiting London. The history and seeing the Crown Jewels in person is just spectacular! The Beefeater tour is so informative and fun! I highly recommend visiting!

Deceptive Upsell of Regular Entry Tix

Don’t buy! Deceptive resale of the “regular” tour that EVERYONE gets when they purchase a ticket through the Tower of London, for much cheaper. Viator charged us $112 for one adult and two kids, whereas face value was about $70.

A Tower with a rich history and some wonderful current personalitys

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the Tower of London. Where our Beefeater Warden, Emma, interwove the history of the Tower with her own personal experiences including what it’s like to live on site and what the minimum qualifications are before you can even consider applying for a job there. The Crown Jewels were mind boggling and let’s all hope the ravens don’t fly away!

Great value for money!

Fabulous tour made special by the depth of knowledge of the Yeoman hosting our group (sorry can’t remember his name!). He had so many stories and was able to quickly establish a rapport with the group.

Great history

We really enjoyed touring the tour of London. The history through was very intriguing so we were very engaged. The crown jewels are remarkable and it's fun to see them up close. Great views of Tower bridge as well.

Yeoman Hardy is the best Tower of London Docent

Yeoman Hardy is the best. He was very funny and informative. He gave me the feeling that he really loves his job and that made the tour all the more memorable

A lot of interesting exhibits to take in. Helpful volunteers to point you in the right direction and give you a map to do it on your own if you dont want to join the proper tour

Not worth going through Viator

The Tower of London is amazing but this tour through Viator gives you nothing extra you just pay extra go through Viator. The Beefeater tour is open to the general admission. But direct do NOT go through Viator.

Our tour guide Barry was an excellent historian! I loved all the stories and interesting stories he shared with us.

The volunteer we talked to was very knowledgeable and approachable. The whole tour was good..would recommend. Some guides are better than others as they have voices that carry more and in a large group this is a good thing

Looking back at History

My wife and I like history and the Tower of London is a place to get a personal feeling of historical places. We purchased our tickets in advance so we did not have to wait on a line. We had a very interesting, delightful and funny Yeomen Warder, a tour guide for us Americans. The Yeoman, Nev, made our tour come alive. After the tour we saw the crown jewels, which is astonishing. Following the jewels we visited the White Tower to see the royal armories and the Tower of Torture. One can allocate about three hours to see the site.

Wonderful all around!

We loved the tour! It was a bit crowded, but besides that the Beefeater was fantastic and we learned a lot about the Tower, etc. Great info and facts with helpful stories to connect to the times/history.

See the Crown Jewels first

See the Crown Jewels first, as the lines got longer throughout the day and the jewels are the highlight. The White Tower, which housed mostly weapons, was interesting but not disabled/senior friendly with many stairs up and down. The cafe was surprisingly nice, with many healthy and reasonably priced options. The only drawback was how loud the chairs were dragging against the floor constantly. Highly suggest they put some felt on those legs!

Time killer

Went out there for few hours with the family, it was not bad st all. The time went pretty quick, great place to visit sometime if anyone wish.

Enjoyable tour

We enjoyed learning about the Tower of London through the narrative of one of the Beefeaters. We also enjoyed exploring the whole complex.

Don’t use Viator for Tower of London tour

I tried multiple times to get ahold of the tour operator as I booked a 9:30 am tour by accident and wasn’t going to be able to be there until 1:00. After multiple days of no response, I booked a tour for the following day at 9 am. First of all, the tours don’t even start until 10 am and then they run every 30 minutes. Secondly, there is no one checking tickets so we actually could have gone the day before. Viator would not give me a refund nor could they explain why they make you choose a time for the tour when timing doesn’t matter. I would advise to book your Tower of London tickets through another company - they are less expensive elsewhere with a free cancellation policy.

Historic tower

We were captivated by the iconic Tower of London, a historic fortress that stands as a testament to England's rich heritage. The sheer scale and grandeur of this UNESCO World Heritage Site left us in awe, offering a fascinating glimpse into the country's storied past.!!!!

Tower of London

Our guide was entertaining and knowledgeable. It was very busy when we went but the lines moved quickly. I would go earlier in the morning if I could, to have a more peaceful time exploring and/or learning.

Way over booked

The guide was knowledgeable and humorous, but the tour is WAY overbooked and it was hard to hear him. Also, you still have to get on the long line to see the crown jewels.

Raven residents

Really enjoyed our trip to the Tower of London. Loved the gardens where the moat used to be. The beefeater traditional outfit is very cool to see. Once you’re finished looking around, you can head straight out to see the Tower of London. The ravens in the grounds were also spectacular.

Tower of London Yeoman guided tour and touring of entire site

Outstanding guided tour with Yeoman Glynn. He was great and very informative. The Tower of London is a hisrorical gem. The entire experience was very impressive.

Our Beefeater was very good but our tour was cut short by rain. We also had trouble with tall people stepping in front of my short wife.

Really good

Really cool experience. We learned a lot. Our tickets from Viator actually weren’t working and Viator was less than helpful with the entire situation. Luckily, the wonderful staff let us in even though the Viator ticket was coming up with an error code. 10/10 recommend visiting the Tower of London.

the guides need to carry a flag or say who they are you couldnt find guide any where ….. so disappointing felt like i wasted my money

Tower of London Beefeater Tour

The Beefeater tour was a delight. Many story and much humor! We were also surprised to learn how large the complex was.

A must for your London Trip - the Historically Significant Tower of London!

Absolutely worth every penny! Bought the tickets online through TripAdvisor app on my phone so this could not have been any easier. Was able to just arrive and get in the queue which did not last very long (we had a 9:30am ticket time). The experience is a must for a London visit! So much history, which must never be forgotten, and those responsible have done an amazing job at maintaining and conveying the stories behind this most significant piece of London/Britain. Oh, and if you can, get in with Beefeater Simon! He's amazing!

Great day of learning and fun!

Our beefeater guide was awesome! He made the experience so fun! The line to the Crown Jewels was long, but moved quickly.

Tower of London

Excellent experience. Went expecting to be there for an hour or two and ended up spending 5 hours there. Just a great experience.

Great visit, good tour guide, too many people

Armor, horseback sets, weaponry. All the examples of that were awesome. The only issues were the group for the tour is entirely too large.

Fun at the Tower

Excellent tourist attraction, enjoyable & educational for all ages. Beefeater tour was very informative. The kids loved their visit. Great family day out.
