Fantastic experience - wonderful voice on the star

I loved this show. It did a great job of weaving Tina Turner songs into her biography. The star of the show when I was there had an incredible voice. And the supporting players, such as the actor playing Ike Turner, and Tina's mother, were also wonderful. I was staying at a hotel that was less than half a mile from the theater so was able to walk back afterwards. I would love to see the show again.

So much talent and passion, it was truly emotional and exciting. Tina was and will always be an extraordinary force and the performers did her justice.

Simply the Best

Went by myself - I can honestly share this is the best theatre performance I’ve ever been to - and I’ve been to most of them. The story brought goosebumps to my body, and the signing and dancing was perfect. I could go on (and on) but I’ll simple say it’s the best!

Fantastic show

What a show,what a cast,great way to learn of Tina's struggles with the abusive Ike,she really was a star,whole place was rocking,loved it.

Absolutely Fabulous.

The show was absolutely fabulous. I would emplor anyone who was thinking of going to just do it, you won't be disappointed. I haven't seen such a great performance from the whole cast, especially the main characters. I would gladly pay to see again, it's that good.

Tina: the ability to overcome despair

Sitting next to two London ladies that shared their exuberance for the late and great Tina. The entire acting crew was fabulous. The lady who played Tina was so believable in her singing!

Rubbish. The show was delayed and then stopped. Staff shouting at customers and no refund given.

Terrible. The show was delayed due to a "logistical problem" no more info was given. One hour late, the show started with the understudy, so I guess the star was the logistical problem. This was unfortunate, but issues do come up, so no big deal. Then 40 mins later the show was stopped again due to "logistical problems" The curtain went down and that was that. No more info was given. At this point, everything was so late that people started leaving as there was no indication of how long the wait would be. The box office was closed. The Manager was hiding from upset customers. No refund was possible apparently. The front of house staff were shouting at customers who were trying to (very reasonably) get a refund. I emailed the theatre and have received no reply. If you look at some of the reviews here, you will see that this is by no means a first. A terrible experience, that could have been handled by the theatre so much better. A wasted day in London, which on a very short trip, was frustrating indeed. Zero for customer service and zero for management. Dreadful. Try another theatre, I can't imagine this is a standard worthy or representative of the West End.

Fantastic

Amazing show. The actors/actresses were outstanding and the performance was top class. Everyone was looked after there and they got the whole audience dancing and singing away. I would highly recommend a hood night out. All ages.

Highly recommend

Brilliant show! The cast were fantastic especially Tina and the story was told very well. Personally, I'm not a great Tina Turner fan, despite which I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and recommend it.

Don’t waste your money …. and time!

My wife and I have watched 30+ musicals in London and New York. This was sadly by far the lowest quality of any musical we have ever seen. In addition the theater Aldwych is so run down with really bad seating that it is embarrassing! Show stopped also suddenly for several minutes due to technical problems!

Great performance by cast and band. The finale/encore was incredible! What a wonderful evening in London's lovely theater district.

Great show

Great atmosphere and show, we were 3 rows from front. Great view. Fantastic singing, Great story, highly recommended.. As with most London theatre not enough room, anywhere difficult to pass people in seats, bar and god help you if you need the loo. But you have to forgive this as show is so good.

Wow Just Wow

Blew my breath away From the young girl to the back up dancers and the band. Everyone was fantastic. A brilliant performance, showing the true struggles Tina Turner had in her rise to fame.

Worth it

I would highly recommend the show for anyone in London, pleasantly impressed and the cast outdid themselves, brought some people to tears, the singing was spectacular and at the end everyone chimed in. Date of visit: 26th September

All of the cast was incredible. Very impressive show in an intimate venue. A window into her tumultuous life. A must see!

Great Performance

This is a great show with a finale that is one of the best I have seen. Issues that have been raised in other reviews were not a problem for me. All the staff we encountered were polite ,helpful and efficient and although I can see that leg room in some seats might pose a problem personally my seat was comfortable with a good view of the stage. What spoiled my evening and why I did not give it 5 stars was an altercation between audience members which caused the cast to pause the performance. There are notices everywhere asking people to be kind and respectful and not to sing or join in or cause a disturbance. There is ample opportunity to join in during the finale. The cast dealt with the situation very well but it is very sad that people have to be reminded how to be behave. Otherwise it's a really good show and I would recommend going to see it

Stunning show!

Tina the musical was outstanding! Captivated from beginning to end, I laughed and cried throughout. Stunning performances by so many talented performers, visually and musically stunning! Would highly recommend. Beautiful theatre too!

WOW! One of the best musicals I’ve ever seen! The cast were passionate and incredibly talented, the story line was easy to follow (for the non Tina buffs in our group) and the show gave everyone the chance to sing along at the end like you were at a Tina concert! The staff at the Ayldwich Theatre were so helpful with my elderly relatives who have mobility issues and not only helped us to our seats but also to toilets during the busy half time. We had an absolute ball at this show and will be back to see it again. Thank you!

Absolutely fabulous show, outstanding performances, so much energy and passion. It was one of the best performances I have seen in a long time. A shame you couldn’t purchase the soundtrack of this performance. Will definitely see this show again

Incredible singing, acting and audience interaction

Incredible show, all actors are great especially Tina and young Tina. Both have amazing voices. Would definetly recommend, although to older kids maybe 12+ as younger might not understand the storyline. Overall definetly recommend

Outstanding show, great story telling and brilliant vocals. Iconic songs sung with heart and amazing cast.

Great emotional show

I liked the show as it was really emotionally moving and engaging. I highly recommend it though I didn't like the theatre as at the back of the stalls there quite a restricted view of the stage.

Awesome

An absolutely awesome show. Great music and orchestra with multitalented artists. Especially those performing as Tina and her grandmother. The performance provoked many emotions-especially fond memories of the great Tina.

Just WOW!!!!

One of the best shows we've seen. The incredible and inspiring story of Tina Turners rise to fame and struggle against racism, domestic violence and coercive control told in an extremely sensitive and thoughtful way. Use of not only Tina and Ike music but also that of contemporaries to help drive the story forward was great. The casting was brilliant, particularly the role of Tina herself - mannerisms and voice were incredible and so Tina without being a parody. Fantastic must see show

Great theatre show

Excellent show that portrays a life of racism, violence and domestic violence balanced against the talent and success of Tina Turner. It certainly tells a story and one that you find yourself immersed in and can believe. The theatre is small and has retained its original authentic identity. The staff were very attentive and yes they policed the audience for use of phones etc… they also spotted customers who were struggling in the small tight seats and were proactive at getting them more appropriate seats during the interval. And in our case my wife was slanted to one side as she could not see over the head of the guy in front. Next thing a member of staff was there with a booster seat - brilliant. Overall fantastic show - just be prepared for the limited leg room if you are tall.

I went with my parents...

I went with my parents visiting from Australia. They knew the music and the story, they loved it. Lots of energy and a great show in general. I=Throughouly enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone who likes Tine to go.

Tina - A Must See production

On arrival at the Aldwych we were welcomed by lovely staff who were very helpful. What a fantastic show, had to keep reminding myself it wasn’t actually Tina on stage! The singer who played Tina was superb - she sang like her, moved like her & from a distance, looked like her. We had seats up in the ‘gods’ which would have been fine , except for a very big man in front of us swaying left to right throughout the performance! Annoying, but we put up with it. All in all a fantastic day in London finished off with a lovely meal in Leicester Square @ Marco pier White’s restaurant.

Amazing talented cast - incredible! Wow!

Heard great reviews. Only booked based on word of mouth. Words cannot explain how much we rated this show - phenomenal writing, cast, music. Every character was incredible. Big shout out to cast playing Tina, Ike, Gma. We felt like we’d been to a concert. Wow! Worth every penny. Talented & gifted singers & dancers. If you’re hesitating re the price - decide what to cut back on this month to allow you to see this show (if you’re able to). A highlight this year for us. Trigger warning re dom violence and racism - but in my opinion this was handled carefully and cleverly - but it hits hard. But the story could not be told without this. It wasn’t an issue for us. Whoever wrote the storyline and planned the set is a genius! Thanks for a wonderful evening.

Great show.

This show was amazing. There was a standing ovation at the end fully deserved. Absolutely recommend. Our seats were really high up but unlike some theatres there weren’t a huge amount of stairs to climb from street level which I found a bonus. Staff were friendly as well.

Mind blown!

This was a birthday present and I have to say the best birthday gift I have ever had!!! I can’t express enough how magnificent this show is! It really does tick every box and we are even considering going again. The show tells the story from Tina’s childhood and abusive marriage with Ike, to her greatest comeback in the 80’s Parts of the show could be difficult for some to watch as it does touch on many subjects that Tina faced, racism, domestic violence and discrimination, The costumes are spectacular, the lighting, the set, the dancers, everyone was on point. The lady who played Tina, was amazing, she looked like her, sounded like her, she must have studied her so much, she had every move down to a fine art. The finale was something else, it was actually like being at a concert, and I felt so emotional at the end to think this lady had been through so much but came out triumphant. Please please go, you won’t regret it, an experience that will stay with me for ever. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Amazing performances!

This was my second time watching it, and it’s still sooooo good! I saw it the first time in 2019. So when my family decided to take a trip to London, I knew they’d love it too. My parents and sister loved it! The performers are amazing!

Simply the best show I've ever seen

Absolutely brilliant show from start to finish. The actors/singers are superb and the lead who plays Tina is outstanding. The show takes you through her past in the 60's and up to her breakthrough to superstardom in the 80's. Lots of drama mixed in with familiar songs that are blended into moving and/or dazzling displays. The finale is spectacular. Highly recommended

Karis Anderson was brilliant. She has all Tina Turner moves down to a T . Incredible voice .We are from Australia and it was not due there until later.So glad we took the opportunity to see the shoe in London

Superb in every respect

Incredibly powerful production about this iconic singers life. We loved every second. The music, lighting, choreography, vocals were beyond our expectations and performed in the delightful Aldwych Theatre. I can recommend this show completely. We'd love to see it again. Brilliant show

Absolutely fantastic show, what more can I say. It’s in a small theatre that I found a bit cramped but loved the show. I was hypnotised!
