Affordable and amazing tour of beattles

From the beginning in the story was in depth with a free tour, the bus tour was in depth funny, Tony was the tour guide and extremely knowledgeable, while the cavern club was lovely and it was all affordable too.

Great day trip from beginning to end! Dale and Dave are the BEST!

We had the best time. The museum was amazing. Our host Dale and Driver Dave on the Magical Mystery bus were the BEST! They were friendly, funny, informative, and made this experience better than we could have imagined. Easy travel from London to Liverpool. Everything was close by. Great timing for everything.

An incredible experience, a must-do for any Beatles fan

Our Magical Mystery Tour guide was Neil, and Ross was our driver, and every moment of the two hours was fun, and magical. My Beatles-mad ten-year-old was pointed in the direction of everything that would interest him. From Penny Lane to Strawberry Fields, the tour is a must-do for any Beatles fan. Neil is entertaining and so knowledgeable, and the trip is interspersed with a Beatles soundtrack the whole way round. The museum is a treasure trove of mementoes and nostalgia. It took us around two hours to tour, but we listened to every single item on our headsets and looked at every single artefact and photo. There is a nice, relaxed atmosphere and it is very clean. Our wonderful trip culminated in the tour dropping us at the Cavern Club where we had lunch. The live music was great, and the burgers delicious. Huge thanks to Mia behind the bar who cleared it with her manager to start lunch service early for my famished son who was determined to eat at the venue. Excellent service, an historic and beautiful venue. Our museum visit, bus tour and Cavern lunch made our 24 hours in Liverpool so special, and we will cherish our memories forever.

A long but good day.

Except for the very early “check-in” at 6:30am for a 7:43am train, and in which there was no one from the tour company to “check-in” with(!), the tour was good. The instructions were unclear and for the most part except the two hours on the Magical Mystery Bus, you’re on your own. There’s no pickup at the train station and no ride back, though walkable from the Cavern Club. The tour guide on the magical mystery tour was excellent and very knowledgeable and patient with late comers to the bus. Overall, it was a long but good day.

Beatles experience

I grew up listening to the Beatles so this was a great experience for me. The day started off a bit Rocky as the Golden Tours company gave us the wrong time and info for departure at the train station from London. We had a good time today but just wanted to point out that they should change their departure instructions. There was no representative that met us at the train station this morning even though we were told in the instructions to meet one at 6:30am. I had to call the tour office at 6:40 after searching for the representative and then was told no one was coming. Also our train didn’t leave until 7:43 (departure time) so telling us to get to the train station at 6:30 was not kind. One and a quarter hours of waiting. I emailed twice the day before to confirm the later departure time on the e tickets and was told twice to get there for 6:30 to meet the representative on time. Not cool. The tour consists of visiting the Beatles Story museum on our own. Then we had lunch on our own and met the Magical Mystery tour bus that drove us around to see sights like Penny Lane, Strawberry fields and homes of the Beatles. They played music and that tour was really nice. We ended at the Cavern and had a great experience there with live music. Great experience for any Beatles fan but might suggest to arrange the train ride on your own to save the hassle.

Magical Beatles Tour

Its been in my bucket list for over 50 yrs. The tours did not disappoint. The museum, the cavern club and the magical mystery tour bus and guide were better than I had invisioned. Touching & seeing the history of the band that is the 'BAR' was phenominal.

Well worth doing

Did the magical mystery tour and it was great. Our guide provided a lot of information and lots of jokes.

Loved it!!

Tony (of the Mersey Beatles band) was a great tour guide as well as very kindly lending a hand with photographs. Ross was our driver on the tour and, both he and Tony, made the whole bus tour relaxed and friendly. The ticket also got us into the Cavern Club at the end, which was magical in itself, as well as a lovely discounted meal at the Cavern Restaurant. I think the take-away from this tour was the friendliness and good-will of all the other people, both on the bus tour and in the Cavern. Everyone just wanted to enjoy the experience and let others enjoy it too.

Spontaneous weekend

Do it all , it was a fantastic spontaneous weekend away and we managed to do it all from our lovely hotel called Lock and Key hotel.

Great day, but confusing instructions

We had a great time but the details of this tour are convoluted. This is not a tour with a guide. You are simply buying a package deal with round trip train tickets, entry to The Beatles Story Museum and The Magical Mystery bus tour. Please note you are completely on your own and there is no guide. The website says the train from Euston Station in London leaves at 7:07am. They advise you to be at station at 6:45am. I printed the tickets Golden Tours emailed me but did not look at the time. Our train was 7:47. We arrived at the station 6:30am. We were not about to wait and we were fortunate to get a ticket agent to get us on the earlier train. We arrived in Liverpool and immediately found a spot for breakfast. After that we went to The Beatles Story Museum. The museum was good but there were throngs of school groups and we had to navigate through them. We had some time in between the museum and the magical mystery bus tour so we went to the Albert Docks, the Beatles statue and did some shopping in the Beatles Story store. The Magical Mystery bus tour was absolutely phenomenal. It was the highlight of our UK holiday. After the tour we had plenty of time for fish and chips, frozen yogurt and a walk through Liverpool One shopping center. We would have liked to stay later but our return train tickets could not be changed because they were purchased with a group rate. We would have had to pay the full fair to change our tickets. That was disappointing. Overall a wonderful day and we much preferred being on our own but Golden Tours should be more specific and advise tour goers that the time on their train tickets may not reflect what's on their website.

A great day visiting Liverpool & Beatles Tour

Visiting the Albert Dock area and seeing the River Mersey was interesting. We enjoyed the Beatles museum but it was too crowded and they should work on spacing out each group. Enjoyed the Magical Mystery Tour bus ride as well. Cavern visit was nice but way over commercialized.

A Marvelous, Unforgettable Day in Liverpool and on the Train!

I planned to fly into London a day early before departing out of Southampton on a cruise to Norway, and wanted to see if I could visit Liverpool in a day including roundtrip travel. Golden Tours was the perfect answer to this, with the tour package including roundtrip train tickets to the Beatles ancestral home and back to London all in a day. I thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of my visit, including the free time allocated to see as much as I could on foot before the afternoon Magical Mystery Tour bus ride. For me, the tour bus was the highlight of the day, with Dale's informative, entertaining and humorous narration bringing all the historical sites to life! Highly recommended if you love The Beatles as do I. Book your tour as early as you can. I booked several months in advance, and it looked like the bus was basically sold out.

Great trip

Enjoyed the Beatles Museum self guided tour - well done and could do it at our leisure. The Magical Mystery Tour bus trip was not only interesting with respect to the Beatles but also to get a better insight into the city Liverpool. Neil and Ross were great. Train connections were pretty easy to understand and we were able to get an earlier train ride back to London.

Amazing experience

We enjoyed the banter with Neal and Ross too (we’re blues and they’re reds) You get to visit the key locations that really tell the story of the Beatles as young men as they begin their paths into stardom from such humble beginnings. Not to be missed when in Liverpool

We thoroughly enjoyed the Magical Mystery Tour, it was very interesting. Jay (our guide) has a great knowledge of The Beatles and Dennis (driver) are very friendly and made the tour lot of fun. The ticket also included entrance to The Cavern club which was great with great music.

Viator Sucks.

Actually never went. Booked through Viator well in advance. Got an email 1 week b4 that trip is over booked. Called the agent and got on a different tour group for same day. I week later got notification it was overbooked and would any other days work. I replied Friday could work. Then received email from tour company dated for the original Saturday. Printed off tickets Friday night and noticed they were dated for Friday. The email from them stated Saturday. There was no response from agent when I said we could work Friday in before the email came saying it is confirmed for Saturday - except the tickets were for Friday. Missed the event. Called them Friday to get us on the Saturday. They said they can’t. Have made two attempts at a refund showing the email thread and the one that included the tickets with the Saturday date on the email summary. No refund. No responsibility. Never going to use this $hot hole booker again.

Good tour, poor communication

The tour, the driver, the guide, and all the Beatles sites were fantastic! The only thing keeping me from giving the whole thing 5 stars was the information from the company. Times quoted for arriving at the train station and when the train was leaving were conflicting and the train people were completely at loss stating they had never even heard of this tour. Then, the directions for when we got to Liverpool were vague…”go to Albert Dock.” So, my advice: do the tour BUT make sure you carefully read your actual tickets, disregard information the company sends you, and make sure you have a good ,maps, app on your phone. And, of course, enjoy Liverpool!

Magical mystery tour

Although I was never a massive Beatle fan I found the whole trip really interesting. Well worth the money and going into the Cavern was really good. This was free with the Mystery ticket.

We had booked this tour as part of a special birthday celebration. Dale was an excellent tour guide, really informative and had a great sense of humour. I would definitely recommend this tour, you will not be disappointed. Thank you also to Allan for driving and keeping us safe on the tour. We really enjoyed visiting the Cavern club afterwards, listening to live music and soaking up the atmosphere.

Beatles Magical Mystery Tour

Dale & Dave (aka George Clooney)were brilliant from start to finish,Dale new everything that was possible to know about the Beatles he was very funny as well.We had a film crew on the bus with us,everyone had the best time ever,l couldn’t recommend the tour more it isn’t a double decker like the rest just perfect 👍🏻

We went on the tour with Adrian and Brian. A wealth of knowledge humorously imparted! Great stops and well organised. Great value for money quick look at The Cavern Club too. 👍

This tour is a must for anyone visiting Liverpool

We were a party of eight (couples). Dale was our courier and kept our interest throughout the tour - injected some humour too, which is always good. Dave (aka George Clooney) was the driver and he was a very nice man too. My husband and I had grew up in the 60s and played guitar to the Beatles tunes on our tennis racquets (not that I knew hubby then). We still watch them when they pop up on the t.v. Anyway, the tour - took us to the places where the various band members were born whilst giving us background into their lives growing up and how they eventually got to form The Beatles. I am not going to give anything away, but it was a pleasurable two hours. On getting on the coach we were asked if we would mind being filmed as there was a chap on from Norwegian t.v. and a lady accompanying him and he recorded the experience from start to finish. This tour appeals to all and we had various nationalities on the bus, including a chap from New Zealand and someone from Brazil to name, but two, but this only goes to show the popularity of The Beatles back in the day and people still like to watch Paul and Ringo if they are performing anywhere or talking about those early days in t.v. programmes. As we went in January (less busy period) we managed to negotiate a discount for our group so worth asking. We got one place free.

FAB!!

My husband and I went on the Magical Mystery tour today and it was absolutely fantastic! Dave and Bill were very entertaining and the commentary on the coach was fabulous! We visited Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields, the childhood homes of John, Paul, George & Ringo and passed many places of interest relating to The Beatles. The tour lasted two hours with free entry to The Cavern after! I highly recommend this to any Beatle fan and it was very good value for money. Superb!

Wonderful tour ending at the Cavern club. Great fun for Beatles fans. Information you will not find in other places. We enjoyed the day very much.

A “must do” tour for a Beatles fan!

Long day but so much to see and do! The trip was perfectly planned out - train tickets from London, self guided museum tour and then bus tour. Also meeting at the Cavern to end the day with a cold beer was perfect. The guide was knowledgeable and shared a ton of great information with the group. All the stops were well thought out and meaningful to a Beatles fan. The group size was manageable. Definitely recommend!

Magical magical mystery tour

Excellent two hour tour with Dale and Dave the driver, very informative and typical Liverpudlian humour all the way, with music and sing alongs. To top it up there was free entry to the Cavern Club included.

Fab Magical mystery tour

This was a brilliant 2 hr tour with Dale and Dave (the driver.) great double act and Dale was so funny typical Liverpudlians humour. We thought it might just be a mediocre tour with a few Beatles songs thrown in - how wrong we were. We learnt so much more and it was so enlightening. Thank you Dale and ‘George Clooney’ look-alike Dave!! for a truly great morning. We were already Beatles fans being our era, but like a jigsaw, this linked it all together. Cheers guys.

Fabulous!

We had the most amazing time on this tour. On Tuesday 13th September. Our guide was Dean Roberts and unfortunately I can’t recall the drivers name 😢. However, they were both absolutely fabulous! Dean’s knowledge of the subject was second to none and the driver was careful and considerate at all times.

Great Beatles Experience

Outstanding professional commentary, including facts about the Beatles that are not generally known. Excellent coordination of songs with location of the bus. This was the 2pm tour.

We booked for the Magical Mystery Tour on the 19th July as part of my husband's birthday celebrations. The Beatles and their music has been a significant part of our lives. For me, The Beatles were my childhood and as a musician my husband has played in Beatle tribute bands. This tour is a must for all Beatles fans! For two hours you will experience an emotional, nostalgic, journey down memory lane. Driving to John's Aunt Mimi's house listening to Imagine after learning more about John's early life moved me to tears. This tour allows you to walk in their footsteps and to celebrate everything they achieved not just for themselves, but also for Liverpool, The UK and the international music scene. From their humble beginnings to international fame and their legacy, which is still bringing millions of visitors to Liverpool every year! Ending the tour with free entry to the Cavern Club is priceless. Just experiencing being part of this great club's history, listening to today's musicians' playing music from the Mersey Beat era and telling their stories bought more happy tears! Thanks to Dale, our Tour Guide and Dave, our Driver. You guys are awesome and certainly know your stuff. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and stories with us and for a fab day.

Required for Beatles fans

Bus tour was outstanding. Great insights from the guide. The museum was great as well. Many exhibits and well done. Cavern Club was crowded and noisy with live music.

Tour guide CHARLIE was very informative and kept us entertained with music and stories about the early years of the Fab Four. DENNIS the driver was proficient at driving down narrow streets and we felt safe with him driving.

Pre booked this,arrived in Liverpool,collected tickets from office near Albert dock,where coach does pick up. We were on time,11am,qued 15 minutes with a lively group,mainly Americans who came on a cruise ship for the day,all friendly,very into the Beatles. The driver and his guide put us at ease in their Liverpool accents,so good to hear the local dialects,their knowledge ,was explained for us all to take in as we journed around all the main venues the Beatles had trod. The 2 hours went so quickly,we were dropped off near Matthew street,by the cavern club and told it was free entry to the cavern with our coach tick,YES free,as the cavern now charges £5 entrance fee,so gaurd the ticket,we went on the night.

Great Tour

A group of us booked this tour for a hen weekend, I am no Beatles fan but I enjoyed every bit of this and learnt so much not just about the Beatles and their songs but Liverpool itself. The tour took us through places that we wouldn’t have otherwise seen. Dale our tour guide and Alan the driver , worked really well together . Dale has such charisma and grabs everyone’s attention when he talks. He has such love for his job and is a proud Liverpudlian , this made the tour great fun. If I ever go to Liverpool again, I will definitely be booking this tour . A must for Liverpool tourists.

Fantastic 2 hour tour

Last Friday 1st July four of us boarded the 2 pm guided tour of Liverpool. My husband and I had done the trip before but sister and brother in law had not. We were greeted by Charlie who introduced Dennis the driver. We had an amazing experience, sang along with the songs and learnt many facts about the Beatles life. The coach was clean and comfortable the tour was enhanced by Charlie's and Dennis's knowledge and personalities. Well recommend this tour

Absolutely indescribable

Brilliant day on the magical mystery tour our tour guide Dale was brilliant and the driver Alan too,took us all around the famous sights we wanted to see with plenty of info and giggles worth every penny.

A must!

Booked this trip before doing anything else. Our guide was Neil, he was so entertaining and informative. Our driver was Ross, he was a lovely friendly guy and obviously has a passion for Beatles songs, singing along the way, he sure knows every word! Really enjoyed the trip and if you’re an avid Beatles fan this is must to go on. Visiting the Beatles houses, a few stops along the way to take pics, then ending up in the cavern club. Brilliant trip and definitely worth the money

The Beatles Trip

Our tour guide Dale and driver Tony were amazing. Dale was very knowledgeable telling us everything we didn’t know about the early lives of John Lennon, George Harrison, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and Pete Best. A fabulous trip and I would definitely recommend to other Beatles lovers.

I did the tour alone as my hubby was working.I never felt alone.I was a massive die hard Beatles fan.A bit before my time.But gosh it was amazing so interesting.Coach is comfortable Tony and Jay just made it.So knowledgable shares great stories.Lots of interesting stops.Four in totally that you get off the coach.Was only half full so was great..I then went to the cavern club in the evening with my free ticket and my hubby in tow.Wow amazing can’t express how much we enjoyed it.Amazing tour worth every penny .thank you guys

A must do if it is your 1st time in Liverpool

What a fabulous trip. Dale and Tony made us feel so welcome, Tony being the driver that kept us safe and finding the best places to park. Dale went above and beyond as our travel guide. He took us to the iconic Beetles landmarks, told us the stories of the beetles past and present and also filled us in on the history of Liverpool and details of each of the areas we passed through. Dales love of Liverpool shone through and made me fall in love with this wonderful city too. I really appreciated his respect of the local neighbours. Thank you both for an unforgettable journey

Bet tour ever

Tour guide tony was fantastic he knew all the knowledge around the Beatles was the bet 2 hours we have had in Liverpool had chance to get off bus and take photos would highly recommend this tour to any Beatles fans so easy to book and the music on the bus gets you in the Dancing mood
