Stonehenge and Bath Day Tour from London with Roman Baths Option

Excellent

Anderson tours is an excellent tour company that offers several tours in London and nearby cities. I took the tour to Stonehenge and Bath with them and really enjoyed it. Both the driver and the guide were very friendly and professional, I intend to take another trip with them soon.

Great all round

Went with my daughter out on a day trip. Was a lovely, smooth journey - fantastic way to explore the English country when driving yourself is not an option. Calum was a great guide. there was enough time to explore the sites, and the driver kindly dropped us off wherever suited best on the return.

Stonehenge & Bath

Went on the trip to Stonehenge and Bath and the Roman Baths. I had a really great time. Michel was a great guide and bus driver. We went on the mini bus and it was very comfortable. The guides make sure that you have a good time and a very knowledgeable with the history of Stonehenge and Bath. I recommend that you take a tour.

Time flies when you're having fun.

Amazing time visiting SH and Bath with Anderson Tours! Although it was a long day, the whole experience felt like it went by too fast. Amazing information about the sites on the way to them. Lots of places to eat and drink. I would recommend this 100%

Smooth

Nothing to complain about, the tour has been executed perfectly with no hiccups. I would just have loved a bit more running commentary from the guide during the trip (and would've encourage me to fatten my tip). She did give us some tips and historical bits and pieces, but that was it. Also, Bath was extremely pretty, I would allocate one day at least, especially if you intend to visit the Roman Baths.

A Must Do!

Amazing tour! Highly recommend getting the Bath admission. We got lucky, but they sell out quickly the day of. Great coach, perfect timing.

Great tour, poor response to coach malfunction

Our guide Brendan was terrific! He was knowledgeable, witty and entirely professional. The sites are amazing and I’d recommend the trip. However, the company’s customer service following a mechanical issue with the coach was poor. We sat on the broken down bus for an hour, then were dropped at a highway rest stop where we waited for a replacement coach for another hour. We’d started our day before 8 am and didn’t return to London until 10 pm, three hours past the expected time. It’s now almost 24 hours later, and Anderson has not responded to either a live chat initiated during the layover or a response to their “How did we do?” message. Ubers to return us to our hotels, reimbursement for the unexpected rest stop dinner, or even a simple email of apology from the company would have gone a long way for me.

Horrible Experience

I booked my trip 6 weeks in advance, I was asked to change my tour day due to lack of tourist for the day I had chosen. I agree to the new day they gave me. When my family and I showed up on the instructed address not one was there to pick us up. Their customer service never replied back to my emails. It’s been 5 days and I still haven’t received a response from them. I’m Extremely Disappointed, it’s just sad because I had used them before for a trip to Rome and I had also recommended them to my friends that just travel to Europe last month.

great guide, easy drive.

Our guide was wonderful, very sweet, made nice commentary during the drive. The driver, while a very good safe driver, could hold back on his commentary, as he made an inappropriate comment to my husband as I was simply asking if he was coming, and I was called bossy by said driver to my husband once I stepped away. the guide in training and my husband thankfully came to my defense immediately but still it was uncalled for. He had also made inappropriate jokes to the guide, and while she handled them like a champ, they should have not been made (using his age/experience is not an excuse either).

A brilliant day out - Highly Recommended

I had an amazing trip from start to finish! The office staff were super kind and helpful, even holding back a couple of minutes for me when I was running late. Our tour guide Sophie was fantastic, sharing fascinating facts about the areas we passed on our way to Stonehenge. We felt well informed, safe, and entertained all day long. Brendan, our coach driver, was brilliant and hilarious too! Stonehenge was absolutely mind-blowing. I highly recommend visiting if you haven't been before. We had just the right amount of time to explore the entire site and grab a quick refreshment before heading to Bath. Speaking of Bath, it's such a beautiful place with lovely people. I booked to go inside the Roman Baths with Anderson Tours, and it was a fantastic glimpse into British-Roman history. I also had plenty of time to savor the famous Sally Lunns Bun, visit the Abbey, and wander around this charming city. One of the highlights of my day was meeting Paul, the pigeon man, who made my day even better. And the street performances in Bath were top-notch! There was such a great variety that it was hard to tear myself away. Overall, Anderson Tours provided an outstanding day filled with history and fun. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!

Bath and Stonehenge are wonderful. Viator sent us far out of our way to meet our tour and then we weren't on their list.

Great trip

So much more information than we expected on the bus from the guide. Lovely day. Stonehenge is much larger and more interesting than we expected.

highly recommended

This was a great tour. Stonehenge was really powerful, and Bath is a stunning city. I paid extra to go into the Roman Baths and that was worth it, though I brought a towel expecting to actually go in the water, but that hasn't happened been an option since 1977! Don't spend all your time at the bath's though, because walking around the city is well worth it. The drive into Bath was particularly beautiful. Richard was our tour guide and he was great. Very kind and personable and had lots of great info to share. Florian was the driver and he was great too.

What an incredible tour to remember!

I didn’t want to go through the hassle of organizing a trip on my own thus opting for this.Initially,I had booked the “Cardiff day tour from London”,unfortunately,6days to the trip,I got an email from Anderson tours that the trip had been postponed due to inevitable reasons,but they offered me a number of options to choose from ,I selected the Stonehenge and Roman bath tour which was abit more expensive than the former trip,but Anderson tours offered me this trip at no extra cost.i must say,the disappointment was a blessing in disguise.Anderson tours is so organized,the emails and calls kept coming in ,in preparation for the tour.The Guide(Eva) and Driver(Jersey)were so friendly and welcoming,the coach was clean and comfy,the driver was so good at his job,it was a smooth journey,the guide was quite knowledgeable, informative and helpful,they made our tour so fun and engaging.it was such a beautiful tour that boosted our knowledge and understanding of the history and culture of Britain.The tour was worth it 10/10.I strongly recommend Anderson Tours for all your tour needs.

Fantastic time in Stonehenge and Bath

Happy that we got to experience Stonehenge and Bathe. We went in January, it was chilly but less crowded, so well worth it. On our bus we had a small group. During the drive they provided history of Stonehenge and Bathe which was excellent. The time we had at Stonehenge was about an hour, and was enough time to walk around the stones and take pictures. Bathe, is a town and going on the tour was great to experience, however it is a place rich is history, so I could actually spend 2 full days there, purchasing a walking tour. There is a city under the streets. The history of Bathe is really interesting and hopefully will be able to go back to spend more time.

Stayed on time, and the right amount of guiding

Our driver and tour guide, Michel, got us everywhere on time - which can be like herding cats with a sizable tour group. He'd do all the description on the bus, then drop us off, give us a time to meet back at the bus, and leave us alone, which is exactly what we wanted. Interesting details here and there, especially on the drive back - my son is still telling folks some of the historical details Michel brought up.

Excellent tour

I loved the tour! I will recommend people to get the tour. The only thing that I would add to it is maybe half an hour more in each location. I know is a long tour, but they are amazing! 1.5 hours and 2 hours is not enough, at least for me haha

EXCELLENT TOUR GUIDE AND HERO DRIVER

Our guide and driver were excellent! Unfortunately, we got a flat tire on the freeway on our way back. The driver saved the day and was able to pull over safely! He became the hero in this circumstance! Even though it took about 3 hours to get help, the driver and our guide ensured everyone returned safely to our destination. These things happen and are out of our control sometimes, but other than that, the experience was beautiful and unforgettable!

The best holiday

This was my first time ever going on a coach trip and thought it was the perfect time while my partner was visiting from Brazil. The tour guide, Eva, was very knowledgeable about the route and the places we went. We had lots of time to explore by ourselves which I enjoyed very much. We did lots of Christmas shopping and saw some amazing sights!! The driver, Lawrence, was very careful on the roads to make sure we arrived safely and on time.

Richard was a great tour guide and Florian was a very skilled driver. We visited Stonehenge and Bath; we had a great time! We returned home as expected around 8PM. We’ll definitely be booking again through Anderson Tours.

Great Experience

We had a great time on our trip to Stonehenge and Bath! Our tour coach driver Jaja was prompt and even got us to most destinations early. Also our tour guide Emma was friendly, knowledgeable, and quite funny!

Fantastic was to see both sites in one day

Myself and my 10 year old daughter loved this tour! We had a quite a small group on the day and found that there was enough time at both Stonehenge and Bath to really enjoy the ancient sites. Our tour guide, Katlyn, was fantastic - very informative, patient and kind. Definitely recommend this tour.

Disappointing.

Overall this tour was disappointing. Was expecting the tour guide to provide more insight and historical context for the areas we visited. Unfortunately he only mentioned a couple of “fun facts” and remained silent for the majority of the drive. He merely functioned as a liaison, distributing the group’s entry tickets, but sat back and did nearly nothing the rest of the day. (The bus driver did far more work.) He then had the arrogance to ask for tips four separate times on the way back. Once or twice, sure. Four times was a bit tacky. Aside from the guide, the tour itself was also disappointing. It was advertised as 11.5 hours, we left London at 0900, so we were expecting to return around 2030, which would mean a departure from Bath at 1730. However, we left at 1630, which meant we had less than 3 hours in Bath. Wish we knew what to expect before booking this tour.

Never again

Scheduling disaster. Our trip got cancelled. Had to pick an alternate and then bus didn’t show as scheduled. We gave up and ate the money. Never again with this tour company.

Good trip

A little late to start but overall a good experience. The tour guide and driver were friendly and communicative with the whole group.

Good but not great

The views and history were fantastic! I didn't rate it higher because I felt like the tour was rushed and wish that we would have had more time at both Stonehenge and Bath. Our driver was about 20 - 30 minutes late picking us up and when I called the number to find out what was going on, they had no clue where our driver was but assured us he should be on the way. On the way to Stonehenge, it was recommended that we download an app to hear the history of Stonehenge but we were not given enough time to actually do every part of the tour for Stonehenge. By the time we waited on a shuttle (could not walk because there wasn't enough time) to get to Stonehenge's actual site, walk around Stonehenge itself, and catch a shuttle back to our starting point, we barely had time to run to the restroom, grab a magnet at the souvenir store, and a drink from the restaurant. We did not get to walk into the exhibits from what has been dug up around Stonehenge at all. We may have had 1.5 - 2 hours total there. When we arrived in Bath, our tour guide walked us through the city quickly (maybe 15-30 minutes) and then gave us less than an hour to find somewhere to eat or walk around before returning for a tour of the Roman Baths. After walking through it quickly, we hurried to find the Jane Austen center but missed the last tour for it. Again, there was not enough time here and it felt very rushed. The experience and sites was wonderful but the tour guide, who was super nice, really did not do a lot on this trip. I could have learned the few things he told us from google. When we returned to the city, they dropped everyone off at one location instead of where we each caught the bus so we had to figure out a different route back to our hotel. If I had known that the tour was going to be cut short at each destination, I would have rather rented a car and drove to each myself so that I had adequate time to actually see more.

Place with many misteries

Excellent visit to a place which still hides many misteries. It is valuable and most interesting. Good preparation and organization.

Anderson tours are the worst

The actual tours at both Stonehenge / Bath were great. Our tour guide, Shane, was not to informative. He ruined the day as well. Assured us we could “get a black taxi in less than 5 minutes,” we were there over an hour 14 hour day in- 2 people 70 years old. Saw 2 taxis in one hour-both filled. This is not what we paid for as being world wide travelers. I will be contacting you; because of a kind person that owned a business- we were able to get to our hotel. Awful day

Do not use Viator-or Anderson tours in London

Stonehenge and Bath were great! Our tour guide-Shane-awful. Gave us continuous wrong info-culminating in telling us we could easily catch a taxi where the bus left us, “ less than five minute wait,” according ti Shane. We were there over an hour and saw 2 taxis that were taken-a stire owner eventually helped us. We are 70 and this ruined the whole experience a-I will be contacting you.

Had a great time!

Really lovely trip, great way to see two attractions in a day when a train strike derails other plans! Shane was fantastic.

Dirty bus

The bus was very dirty and stinking. It was difficult to travel with family. Shaun, the guide, got it cleaned later on complaint.

Very interesting, informative trip. Little bit tiring as it lasts more than 10 hours, but definitely worth it.

A trip that pays off

Both Bath and Stonehenge are unique places. The time we spent in each one was enough although I would have stayed longer in Bath if I could.

First, I would like to thank Shane, our guide, for a fun day! The combo tour was well worth it. The coach drive was lovely and Stonehenge is fancinating and set in a beautiful, countryside location. Bath is a great city and we were lucky to visit during a street festival which added to the experience. We would suggest adding the entrance to the Roman Bath. After all, it is the foundation of the city.

Great way to spend a day!

We had a wonderful time visiting Stonehenge and Bath. Our guide, Sophie was well organized and friendly. She provided lots of interesting historical information along the route and at our arrival at both locations. The coach was comfortable and it was a very pleasant ride with lots of beautiful countryside to see. We highly recommend!

Failed attempt

I was not able to take the tour because I tested positive for covid the night before and did not want to put others on the tour at risk.

A waste of money and time

This trip is a waste of money. Save by taking the train to Bath at a third of the cost. Only an hour 15 minutes by train from London, compared to 2 hours and 30 minutes via the bus. You get no tour of Bath. You’re on your own.

Fantastic Day Trip!

Fantastic trip. Stonehenge is amazing! We were very impressed with how well it is organized and how quickly they transport everyone back and forth to the site. Bath is a beautiful town. We enjoyed exploring it. Very Romanesque! We also, Loved seeing the Roman Baths!

Waste either money or time

Driver has not turned on AC till the coach got to the Bath. It was very hot day. The driver drove in the city of Bath for 40mins, so we had only little time to look around either before or after visit the Bath. We supposed to have at least one hour to walk around before visiting the Bath. We did not enjoy the tour in the city of bath. The driver did not drive careful enough. The guide fell down on the floor after he did hard brake.

Solo Travel to Stonehenge and Bath

As a solo traveler this was a great tour to book for the day! It was easy to get to the pickup location and I always felt safe and cared for by the guide and driver. 10/10 would recommend.

Interesting trip

Our guide had a lot of interesting info to share and was very kind and funny. The minibus we traveled in was fairly comfortable although with my long legs there wasn't a lot of legroom (my knees were banging against the seat in front of me) and the AC was ice cold even after we turned the temperature up. But still, a much better ride than others I've been on. Not a lot of time to see and explore Stonehenge or Bath so felt a bit rushed but it's understandable considering how much time is spent on just getting there. If you had your own car you could've spent a whole day or more just walking around Bath.

Henge Your Bets with Anderson Tours

Day tours are always a question mark in my mind when I travel. Will the tour run on time? Will the guide be informative? Will the transport and driver be reliable? Affirmative for all three questions with our crew: Emma, Franklin and Lance. The weather was very good when we visited Stonehenge and toured Bath - which has nothing to do with the tour company, but makes all the difference to your enjoyment (or lack thereof) of the experience. We would have liked more time in Bath, but you can’t have everything on a day tour. So, if you don’t want (or can’t) muster the whole car rental thing AND can be satisfied with a taste of these places, this is a great option! Enjoy!
