Small group Transfer: From Southampton Port to London Hotels or Heathrow Airport

We had an airport...

We had an airport transfer ride from our cruise ship. The driver was timely, the vehicle was comfortable and the ride was smooth.

Friendly and courtiouse driver

The driver was very friendly and courteous. Well, there was a huge backup at the airport dropping off someone and it took nearly 3 and half hours to get to our hotel versus 2 hours. It was not the fmdeiver’s fault, but I had to ask for a rest stop on the highway from the airport as we needed to relieve ourselves. Next time it would be batter for the driver if we need a potty beak if same delay happens.

Nice comfortable ride !

We had a private transfer with one other couple to our Hotel in London, The driver was very nice gentleman. It was an enjoyable experience, He was waiting for us and we departed earlier then scheduled.

The guy was front and...

The guy was front and center when we came out of customs and had our name spelled correctly which hardly ever happens. He was a polite and safe driver.

Great Stress Free Transport

Driver, Sam handled all luggage and made sure we got from cruise ship to Heathrow in plenty of time for our flight. He was in great humour and for such an early pickup.

OK, but not great

The van was compact, with club seating for six. There was very little space to put your feet and we were shoulder to shoulder for the two and a half hour ride.

Everything was great.

It was just a transfer from a cruise ship terminal to a hotel. The driver wad very nice & delivered us right on tome.

Our driver was excellent. On-time, very helpful with loading luggage and the vehicle was very comfortable even for a party of 6 adults with large bags. We encountered a large traffic jam due to rush hour and a bank holiday and the driver quickly took an alternate route that got us to the airport in plenty of time!

Ride from port to hotel

Ride to the hotel was tight, but took us from port to hotel. Came later than indicated, but within the allotted time.

Cruise Pickup

Leaving a ship is always chaotic! I was able to readily identify the Viator rep who kept us updated on our drivers arrival, which was on time. A problem arose when we had to go to another pier for a pickup. That ship was delayed getting into port by an hour. We had to wait for 40 minutes in the transport van in a parking lot while the other passengers disembarked. It wasn’t the worse thing in the world, just inconvenient after a long cruise. I would like to say that this wasn’t the driver’s fault, he was beyond apologetic and accommodating. He provided a very pleasant ride to London and pointed out some landmarks as we arrived. The booking company should not pickup from multiple piers for this very reason.

Independent transport to LHR.

Quick and efficient delivery from Southhampton to London Heathrow. A bit expensive, but it was on time and effective. Nice driver.

Overpriced and poor customer service.

I was charged $289 for what I expected would be an Executive Minivan transporting 2 people and 6 pieces of luggage from Southampton to Heathrow. Instead, a Honda Kia showed up. There was not nearly enough room for our luggage and two passengers. After contacting the owner, Louise, she insisted that I had not requested an Executive Minivan. I tried to explain to her that the website only offered ExecutiveCars and Minivans. The website also states “Book with International Friends for a fast, reliable transfer experience. A premium alternative to a taxi for airport or cruise transfers, our chauffeurs are professional and experienced. You will be met with a personalised name board at your pre-arranged pick up time, then taken to your destination in luxury in one of our executive vehicles.” Nowhere on the website could I find any transportation other than an Executive Car or Executive minivan.I explained that I wouldn't pay $289 for a Kia when I could take a larger taxi for half the price but Louise could not be budged. My advice if you are looking for good customer service is to skip this company and look for someone else.

Good ride after initial mix-up

We hired a shared ride from Southampton to our hotel in London. We were met right away by the "International Friends" ride coordinator. He said our driver hadn't arrived yet & asked us to wait. Ultimately, our driver arrived but it was difficult to identify him as he had my first name & the first name of one of the other riders on his sign. The other party, who we did not know, thought the sign represented a first & last name, as did we. This mix up prevented the driver from finding the other party in our van, delaying us by almost an hour. Printing both full names would have prevented the problem. Otherwise, the ride was uneventful and the driver did a good job circumventing construction and Platinum Jubilee detours. Next time, we'll book a private ride.

Driver was excellent.

Our driver was waiting at the dock for us with a note (but please get him a new marker!) He had 3 groups and brought us all to downtown London. We were the last to be delivered, but the office gave him the wrong address so he went all the way back to Heathrow area and delivered us directly to the Hotel, after a personalized tour of downtown London during the Jubilee celebration! He was pleasant and informative, and got as much of a tip as we could afford. Thanks!

Need better communication

We were met by a rep who told us to wait “here” - outside port terminal - until our car arrived. She forgot to tell the driver, who was waiting inside with the other 3 passengers! Took over a half hour for us to connect, 🤬🤬, thank goodness I’d turned my phone on to receive the call from HQ. Other than that, it was a fine trip and I’d recommend the service.

Excellent Job

The driver was early. Upon getting into the vehicle he gave us a bottle of water. He was polite. He drove safely and brought us to our location without issue. Good job!

Driver late to meet ship

No driver when we got off the ship...Even after a phone call waited 45 mins. Driver seemed confused.

Fantastic transfer and tour from Southhampton Heathrow

Our driver Paul Douglas was awesome and was waiting for us at the terminal when we arrrived, i did not see him right away but i asked another international friends and the pointed him out to us. We had a wonderful trip to London and then had at least a two hour tour of most of the big attractions and with brixit going on with protests he did a wonderful job getting around london and using all the back ways to get out to our plane way ahead of schedule and we had a wonderful time.

Reliable and comfortable

The drive was at the arrivals area with a sign. Van was comfortable with ample room for luggage and passengers. Dropped us off right at the terminal in Heathrow. Nice driver. Would do this again!

Transfer from Queen Mary 2 to London Hotel

The driver was excellent and on time, clean car in and out, driver new were he was going and he was dressed well, he offered us water,coffee or needed to get to a rest stop. I would book this again .

Post Cruise Transfer

Great driver and nice car. Driver was waiting outside luggage claim. I would recommend it as transportation from Southampton to London.

DO NOT BOOK WITH INTERNATIONAL FRIENDS

We had the same experience this past May 2019 as another reviewer. Booked a car from South Hampton to London, The Trafalgar St. James, a Hyatt hotel. Driver had no idea where he was in London. Supposed to be in London by 11 am. Breezed to London but Driver had no clue as he was from South Hampton. Likewise he wanted to drop us off to walk to Hotel that he couldn't find, and eventually he would find it and drop off the luggage. He refuse to call the Hotel to maybe get some directions. Only us 2 and another couple in the car going to the same Hotel. Anyway, didn't arrive until 12:30 which ruined the day for our booked tickets to St. Paul's and the Tower of London. Do yourself a favor and book elsewhere.

Do not recommend - Not Impressed with International Friends Service

We hired International Friends on the recommendation of our travel agent. The review said that it was an "executive transfer" from the cruise terminal to our London hotel. Also that the driver would meet us at the terminal exit hall and have a sign with our name on it. Neither of these were true. The driver was not in the terminal when we exited. We had to search outside for him and only found him by luck as he had a sign with just my first name on it, not my last name. I'm sure there are more than on person with my first name leaving a cruise with 3600 passengers.. He also didn't speak much English. He had to call the office and I had to speak to the person there to confirm he was there to pick me up since he didn't know what my last name was. The executive car I was picked up in was a VW hatchback. My wife and two kids had to cram themselves into the back seat and I sat up front. For the very expensive price I paid for this transfer I expected to have a nicer vehicle. Once in London the driver couldn't find the hotel (the Hoilday Inn) and wanted to drop me off on the street in the general area. I had to enter the info into my GPS and guide him to the location. I believe International Friends contracts out the work to other local companies who just send anyone they have. I would not recommend them. No one followed up with me to see if I had been picked up or delivered to my location. Poor service.

Great way to get to London ftom the ship

We had disembarked the ship and Bob searched his customers out. He arrived early so we all were ready to leave before the prescribed time. There were demonstrations in London so Bob had to take an alternate route to the hotels...he did a great job. He stopped about halfway for a bathroom break and so we could stretch our legs. If we get off the ship in Southampton again we will definitely hire International Friends.

Shuttle from Southampton to Heathrow

We corresponded with Paul through email. His information was very clear. We made our arrangements several months before our cruise to make sure we would be on his pick-up list. Everything went very smoothly on the day of the pick-up. Nigel met us at the cruise pier and we had a very comfortable and smooth ride to Heathrow. Thank you, TCC Southampton.

The Only way to Travel

On a recent trip to London we booked International Friends to transfer us to and from Southampton cruise terminal We were picked up on time by our drive who gave us a running commentary of the sites of London as we passed them. We only had one other couple in the mini van which made for a very comfortable and enjoyable trip. I firmly believe it is worth the money to be transported this way from hotel to cruise ship rather than leave the hotel and walk to the Tube, catch a train to Waterloo Station and transfer to the Southampton express, then get a cab from Southampton to the cruise terminal all the time moving 2 x 25 kg suit case and 2 x small shoulder bags. When you compare the costs and the convenience it is well worth the extra money This company was very efficient and the two drivers we had were very friendly and most helpful. I full recommend you think about using them in the future.

The driver was right where he was...

<p>The driver was right where he was suppose to be and on time. However no one explained to him that one couple had two different last names and we continue to wait for nearly 30 minutes for a person who was there the whole time. If the booking agents had given the number of people to the driver he would of known. Also it would of been helpful if he had our phone numbers to call to see if there was a problem. Being that it was Sunday we made it in plenty of time for our plane</p>

<p>The company had the address of the wrong hotel and when the driver tried to drop us off there I told him he had the wrong hotel. He said he didn't have time to take us to the correct hotel. He called his office and they told himn to leave us there. We had to take a cab to our correct hotel.</p>

<p>Excellent! Best choice. I thought we were going to have to wait for a million passengers to get off and get on some big uncomfortable coach bus...but boy was I surprised. Nice MERC was there to pick up 6 people! There were on time, the travel was smooth and comfortable and the driver was very pleasant. We were staying at the Hilton for the night so we got back early and had the whole day to get out and see London. I would definitely use them again and I would highly recommend this service! Reasonably priced given the car, driver and expediency of the transfer.</p>
