Royal Westminster and Changing of the Guard Tour

Multiple changing of guards all in one tour!

Harry did a great job of navigating us to each of the guard changing events. It was really fun seeing the band warm up prior to marching to the palace. He was very knowledgeable. I think a quick prep talk to walk through all the movements that we are going to be seeing and the logistics of them would be helpful so we were prepared for the movements and timing.

Much more than expected

John was our guide and fantastically informative. This tour gets you to places we had no idea existed or were happening.

It was so crowded that we couldn’t see anything. Our guide was good, he provided a lot of history. Just not what I was expecting.

Changing of the Guard: Allen is the best guide!

A Royal Treat

Great experience overall. Two king sitings in one day made for a very exciting tour. No pictures of KC because I only had video, but what a time!!! Harry was fantastic 👍🏾

The tour was great. John was very knowledgeable and made sure we saw a bit of everything dealing with the changing of the guard including the horse change of guard. He was also friendly.

The Best Tour!

John, our guide, was fantastic! His knowledge provided us with an amazing experience. He knew exactly where to take us, and (most importantly), when. As a result, we constantly found ourselves in much better viewing positions than other groups. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and his knowledge of history was impressive. He made it such a fun and enjoyable experience. I highly recommend this tour. You will have a memorable experience, and be in viewing areas that you would never find on your own. Maybe you’ll be lucky enough to have John !

Buckingham Palace Changing of the Gurads

London's changing of the guard is very hard to see at the palace. You must arrive 3 hours before and then fight the crowds. Our guide took us around the area and we saw the guard and bands march to and from their barracks from several vantage points (you will not see the guard changing at the palace) . This involved some walking as we went to various viewing locations and actually walked with them as they marched. Guide was knowledgable on where to go to see them. Several attractions in the Westminster area were also seen. Be prepared to walk, sometimes at a fast pace.

Great tour and great tour guide

Our tour guide, John, really knew the history of the area and he made the tour fun. He was also very good getting us to exactly where we needed to be at the right time in order to view the Changing of the Guards at all of the important locations. We had a really good time learning about England on this tour.

So much better than just standing in front of Buckingham palace! We loved our tour guide, John. He was so friendly and knowledgeable, and has a great sense of humor.

Save your money

This tour takes you to the back end of St. James Palace where we stood 3 deep.. There are no red coats with fur hats. And haven't been for quite some time. It is the air force marching band. What a let down. Then you are and escorted through the Park to infront of the palace but a quarter mile back. Good luck seeing much. The tour starts near the underground but you the have to walk quite a bit. Save your money and just go to the park and walk up. Our tour guy kept repeating himself about the view and what days this takes place. Extremely little amount of historical facts and certainly no interesting take into any of it. I have taken tours all over the world and this was by far one of the worst.

Bryan was excellent

Bryan was excellent and passionate about guiding the tour, made it fun and interesting for all ages and for everyone in the group. Knew the best places to stand and view the guard even if it was packed.

Terrible

The tour guide did not show the first day and instead of giving us a refund they booked us for another day when we had other plans. Alll I wanted was a refund for their guide not showing up, impossible to speak to anyone in person.

Absolutely amazing guided walk

Our guide was James and he was outstanding....a walking encyclopedia of knowledge. He made the walk so interesting and he knew the timings and when we could be able to see things like the changing of the guard. He made sure everyone was able to get a good view. We can't thank him enough for all the amazing photo opportunities and memories of a wonderful morning.

Impressive beyond measure

This tour was recommended by our friend and I cannot be more grateful for this travel tip! James the guide was impressive beyond measure. His background and expertise absolutely made every aspect of this tour an unforgettable one. The strategy and thoughtfulness of the information shared when and where was right on point. Fantastic type guide!

Harry, our guide, was amazing! Extremely knowledgeable and animated. Made what could have been mundane details interesting and fun. Knew the best places to stand to get the best views. Definitely recommend!

Perfect Timing

This was a great tour. John did a fantastic job of getting us to specific parts at just the right time. I am not gonna lie lie, some of the pace was hard to keep up. But it was well worth it. John wanted to make sure we got to where we needed to be at the time we needed to be there, While other people were going in the opposite direction of us a good bit of the time, I understood that he he insight of where we needed to be at what specific time so we didn't miss a thing. I think some people in our tour were not paying attention to Sean when he was telling everyone to follow him as we need to leave for a specific location immediately. We really missed nothing in this tour. We saw everything as it played out. I saw that many people that came to watch the Changing of the Guards were not in the right place to see everything. I am so glad we bought this tour. Otherwise we would not have known where to be and been just like the thousands of other people waiting and watching nothing. This is a worthwhile tour. And if you are lucky enough to get John, hang on for a great tour.

John is the best!

We had an amazing time on our tour! Our guide, John, was so knowledgable and energetic. We were able to hit all of the major spots without following all other tour groups. Even with road restrictions due to the London Marathon, John was able to navigate around everything with ease. This was definitely a highlight of our trip and we can’t recommend this tour and John enough!!

Great well organized tour and a fun engaging tour guide

The tour was fun and organized. Out your guy John was funny and made the tour very entertaining & lively. He is very knowledgeable on every topic including on different types of squirrels and birds in the park. He knew exactly where crowd would be so we were always able to experience everything from the first row. He also kept our 9 yr old girl very interested and even gave her a fun task of holding the tour flag. We absolutely loved the tour and loved having John as our tour guide.

Be careful!

Great tour guide, unfortunately due to the marathon, many things were not accessible. The changing of the guard advertised in the title of this tour does not happen daily. As a result, we saw the horse guard, but that was also abbreviated. It would have been appreciate if the schedule were more specific and transparent that we would not see the foot guard on the day we scheduled. We were not the only ones disappointed when we realized the main event we signed up for was only on certain days.

Wonderful Changing of the Guard Tour

Our tour guide, Allen, was a gem. He made the tour enjoyable even on a day that started out rainy and cold. At each step along the way, he explained what we were seeing and got us to the absolute best viewing spots. Along the way to Westminster Abbey he pointed out multiple sights that one would have overlooked on your own. I went back after lunch at a recomended pub and toured the interior of Westminster on my own. I would highly recommend this two-hour tour.

Fantastic morning tour

Fantastic tour with an amazing tour guide. John was spot on in timing and getting us in the right position for pictures. We even spotted a certain Monarch on his way to work.

This tour was fantastic. Our tour leader, John, was delightful and really knew his information. His timing throughout the morning allowed us to see everything at the perfect time. Including the sighting of a certain monarch. We very much enjoyed our morning.

The Best Changing of the Guard Tour!

This was an amazing tour! Our guide, Alan, was very knowledgeable and expedient in getting us to all the right places to see all the right things during the changing of the guard. We even got to see King Charles! You can’t beat this tour and its price.

Great outting with our tour guide, Alan! He knew exactly where we needed to be and at what time so we could beat the crowds and experience the changing of the guards upfront. Great for kids who might otherwise get crowded out. Learned many fun facts along the way!

Best tour in London

This tour was above and beyond our expectations. Alan knew all the perfect insider spots to see the changing of the guards and we literally had a front row view. We loved the tour and was perfect for everyone.

Best change of guard guided tour.

The best tour of change of guards. The guide’s knowledge of not just history, but also the strategic spots to see interesting parts of the event. Our guide,John, was so knowledgeable that he knew exactly where to stand and what to watch for. He even knew to read the cues of police presence outside Clarence House (the king’s residence) so we got to see the King drive out and a few minutes later the Queen. Seeing the King and the Queen drive out of Clarence House was an absolute bonus.

What a King of a Day

This was a wonderful experience. John our guide was so friendly and knowledgeable in an interesting and humorous way. His knowledge was so up to date we actually saw The King leaving Buckingham Palace. A thoroughly enjoyable morning and I would highly recommend this tour.

Tour is very exciting!

John was an outstanding guide and this is an awesome tour. John got us to the great points where we could best see the guards and the change ritual. It was so much fun! John is highly knowledgeable and had great stories of the houses near the Palace! Would love to go on the tour again!

King Day Experience

Our tour guide John was incredible and made the time spent on the tour so personal. He was a professional and made the experience one of the best we have had in London. We thoroughly enjoyed his friendly banter, knowledge, which he passed on in an interesting and amusing way and the fact that his knowledge was so up to date we actually saw The King leave Buckingham Palace. This was a really affordable and worthwhile tour. Would highly recommend.

Alan led us through the many facets of the changing of the guards with his knowledge and experience of the event. We saw this event from multiple locations. It was all terrific, but we especially enjoyed the horse guards.

Amazing

John was amazing! He was very polite and knowledgeable. We were the only couple on the tour due to other guests not showing up. We got him to ourselves. We even got to see the King today!

My teen's favorite part of his London discovery - our guide Nick was the key

Our guide, Nick, was the main reason for the excellent rating. He was funny, informative, and attentive to all ages in the group. My son liked this tour the best of all that we did in our 4-day visit there. Besides the guards and the Palace, we saw and learned about St. James Palace, Westminster and Big Ben, and 10 Downing St., in about a 2 hour walking tour. Very good value for money. Note : if you are expecting to be next to the gates of the palace and see the guards there close up, this isn't the tour for you. You do get to see the guards (and marching band) emerge from their quarters and march up to the palace; Nick had us in a prime location to see this and made the short wait fun. But if you want to be near the gates you should go early and on your own (I think it would be impossible to get a group there, given the crowds).

Disappointing trip

wrong information on website about the trip. Could not reach tour guide and no one was helpful over phone to reach your guide. Very disappointing.

Amazing Tour - Do it!!!

This tour saved me! My bucket list item was to see the changing of the guard but my uneducated self thought it all happened at Buckingham Palace. Thanks to our exceptional tour guide, John, he guided us to a great spot to watch the inspection, watch the band and regiment go down the mall and then on the way back to their barracks to be done. The history and information he provided really added a lot to the tour and educated me and all of the tour.

Great Changing of the Guards experience

Our Tour Leader was very good - gave us a great understanding - we had a very distant view of the main Changing, however, he took us to another smaller Changeover, and we were able to stand right beside the horses.

Great tour, and Nick was a great guide!

Nick was a great tour guide who gave us lots of history and jokes along the way. He kept it interesting for our multigenerational (three) group!

Knowledgeable tour leader - a different way to see London

Our tour guide was wonderful - very knowledgeable, walked at a pace everyone could manage even our 5yr old. The meetup point was not so clear for us - thankfully we showed up early and were given instructions from another guide. We did not get to really see the changing of the guard - but this was not the fault of the tour leader, we were unfortunate to be in London while there were demonstrations and remembrance day - roads were closed and super busy everywhere - he done his very best to get there on time. I would say overall a very good experience

Fun educational tour

Rob our guide was great. Found the meeting place easy. Learnt a lot about London. Lots of photo opportunities. I recommend people do this tour.

Easily one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide was top notch and showed us everything in perfect order. So informative. Pink Hat was our guide and he was the best!

Out tour guide Mick was exceptional. He was so knowledgeable and had so much to share. We were rained out for the changing of the guard but got to see the changing of the horse guard. He answered all of our questions and then some. 5 stars!!

We got Colin as a tour guide and he did an amazing job. Full of passion and with humor he told us a lot about the guards change and about London. And we also got to see Queen Camilla arriving at Buckingham palace. We had an amazing day!
