Not enough time in the Cotswold s

This trip provided an hour and 30 minutes combined in the two Cotswolds villages we visited. Oxford was a 2 hour stop. It was a pleasant drive and guide but I would rather explore more of the Cotswolds than this trip offered.

This is not a tour, it is a car service.

Our family of 12 took this "tour" We were very disappointed. They advertised this as a "tour" with a "guide". THIS IS NOT A GUIDED TOUR. This is a car service similar to Uber or a taxi. The driver drove us to the locations, dropped us off, told us when to meet up, and mentioned where bathrooms were. That's it. No tour, no guide. This was true for all 3 stops. So, I paid almost $2000 for a car service. If you want a tour or any information, book someone else. The mini bus was nice and the driver delivered us safely. That earned a second star.

Scenic but crowded

Absolutely scenic tour, Oxford is beautiful and very interesting! Small group, so easy and more flex. One negative villages are very crowded and touristy. Not authentic anymore. But this is not company fault. Our tour guide was a very nice guy, but so quiet, that it was hard to listen.

A travel that should be done

The villages take you to the history of the country and Oxford shows the high importance of the Knowledge...our driver/ guide Barry was excellent and funny!

Great day trip

Picturesque views of the Cotswolds. Wish we had had one more hour in Oxford - 2 hours was a real race

Missed the tour. Can't find a location pick up on the time

They not contact you for confirm before tour, even you don't know where exactly for pick up point cause you are tourist and difficult to find that place they don't care. The agent will response message a bit late. They will depart on time not even check all the passenger was ready or mot. No refund for it even you did not get any service. However, you might be fine if come much early.

A day in the Cotswolds

Wish we had more time at the Cotswold, but we loved the tour. Thank you for the recommendation of Hunter’s Cakery. We finally got a chance to have afternoon tea with cake and it was so yummy.

Great tour to get to know Oxford and the cotswolds. Great tour guide. It would had been great if the tour guide could take us around the towns we visited and explain the different places. Now in most tours they just explain each place you visit in advance in the car and leave you to explore by yourself.

We had a great driver who explained what we were seeing and where we were going so well. Just wish we had more time in the first village.

The tour group leader was...

The tour group leader was incredibly knowledgeable and shared details along the entire trip. They even provided a self-guided tour of Oxford with a map and details of each point-of-interest.

Our Cotswolds and Oxford experience

Burford and Bibury villages ; indeed the drive through entire Cotswolds was charming. However, at Oxford I was expecting a guided tour which did not happen (may be I was wrong). We managed to spend some time at the Ashmolean but the rest of Oxford was extremely rushed and due to lack of guidance, one could not really absorb its appeal.

Wonderful day trip

Kate is an excellent guide from Rabbies! We enjoyed the day trip to Cotswolds and Oxford. A wonderful tourist trip.

Nice to see it but needed more time and a bigger bus

The guide was great. There really wasn’t enough time in the Cotswolds. By the time we found a bathroom and a cup of coffee it was almost time to go back to the bus. Oxford was lovely and the walking map was very helpful. The bus was too small and crowded.

A Great Introduction to this Part of England

This was a great overview of this lovely part of England. The bus trip made for a relaxing day with plenty of great commentary and stories by our tour guide. Unfortunately, I don't recall our guide's name right now, but he was informative and willing to answer all of my questions. My only suggested improvement would be to have a little longer stop in Oxford--maybe add one-half hour to that stop. It was a little rushed to eat lunch and still have time for enough walking around to see the city. But that's a small point for what was a very good tour.

There are better uses of money

Our guide was kind and professional, but unfortunately it felt like the information we received on the tour was lacking. We appreciated that the route was flexible, and it did have some beautiful vistas.

Stunning Oxford!

Barry shared lots of entertaing stories about the areas. Gave us a great tip to find the Turf Tavern! And ample time to explore locations.

Great experience with this tour company!

We signed up for the tour starting in Bath then going to Oxford, then Burford, then Bibury before going back to Bath. It was a fantastic experience overall. The bus was small but comfortable, good air conditioning, had huge windows offering great visibility to all the surrounding sights no matter where you sit inside. And the small group size made it more efficient throughout the day. We got extra lucky to have Barney as our guide and driver. Upon the morning arrival and from every moment thereafter he was friendly, funny, full of interesting historical facts and anecdotes, and always ready with a great recommendation for further activities. He was fully aware of and prepared for local events which might be interesting for the tour, like graduation activities at Oxford, or festival traffic between cities so as to avoid time consuming traffic. He sought out and paid attention to detail from every person on the tour throughout the day in fun and friendly ways. We have done guided tours in a LOT of cities in many different countries, but Barney stands apart. He is an example to be followed!

Billie was fantastic!!!!!...

Billie was fantastic!!!!! The van was way too small. Seats narrow and very uncomfortable. We will not use your service again. If it weren’t for Billie’s kindness and personality. It would have been the worst day trip we have taken. We felt like sardines in a can.

Literary Oxford and scenic Cotswold

Brady was our guide with a lot of interesting information. Especially his map for the walking guide for Oxford was really useful. Both Bibury and Burford in Cotswold were beautiful.

Great tour!

We had a great time with Damian on this tour! He was funny, had great stories, interesting facts about each place we went or saw, good tips on where to go in Oxford and in the stops in Cotswold. He was extremely kind and accommodating and responsive to any of our needs or questions. I loved his detour through the backroads in the Cotswold and introducing us to Molly and Polly. All in all, very memorable! I would definitely recommend this tour with Damian!

The well prepared map leaflet along with the many stories about each site visited richly enhanced the actual visits. All three sites were wonderful! The guide and driver were great !

Such a fun day with our tour guide

After a bit of difficulty in finding where to meet the tour group, we had a great day with Nick as our tour guide exploring a few unique places, including Oxford and a couple of Cotswolds villages. We thoroughly enjoyed the historical perspectives that Nick provided around English history, Oxford nuances, and the villages we visited. Our guide was a former history teacher and I loved hearing all of the stories about all of the topics he brought up, including things about pubs, Cambridge vs. Oxford, Arlington Row, etc. It was a full day of travel and exploration, but definitely a highlight of our trip to the London area.

Good day with Barry but actual tour is not worth the price

Our tour guide Barry was five stars. He was a very cautious driver and extremely friendly. As for the tour… I don’t feel that it was worth the money. We visited two villages in the Cotswolds and then went to Oxford. There really wasn’t much time in the first village of Burford. We were able to get a scone and cappuccino and browse to stores and then we had to return to the bus. I would’ve liked the chance to explore some of the shops and walk some of the streets. When we got to the second village, we took a few photos along the river and Walked up the main road and then we returned back to the bus. Time flew by at this stop. When we got to Oxford, the time flew by. I don’t suggest going for a sit down lunch because you won’t get enough time to complete the walking tour (a map is given to you with the route highlighted).

Great trip!

Amir and Omar were great hosts and we learned a great deal throughout the trip. Amir is a font of knowledge and Omar was a wonderful driver. The tour itself was great, getting a sense for the English countryside and these small towns, as well as the lengthy history of Oxford.

Best way to know Oxford & Crosswords We love this your, so very well planned, organized Our driver/tour guide was Carl, very entertaining, acknowledge, funny and he took very well care of us. Always driving so carefully He gave us great tips as well This tour is amazing because you can go on your own pace Oxford is pretty amazing, lots of things to see And crosswords is out of a fairytale world

We got a bus driver, not a tour guide

Small group tour. Bus arrived 15 minutes late and arrived back 35 minutes early. Much of the tour was driving in the bus which was expected. 3 hours of loud Motown music from the 60's. No commentary from the tour guide/bus driver. The inside of the bus was 78*F and he refused to turn up the air. We were given a map of Oxford and told to return to the bus in 3 hours. What a waste of money. We have used Viator before and have never experienced such a poor tour. We have 2 more Viator tours booked and hopefully we have a better experience.

Super!

The tour was exceptional, especially Bibury. Everything was great. It was sunny and warm. Our guide, Mr. Barry, was very nice, patient, polite and fun!!!! Absolutely recommended.

Highly recommend especially if you have Carl as your guide.

The Cotswolds were even lovelier than expected. Even in the rainy weather we had a great time. Carl, our driver was fabulous. Great personality, funny and very informative. He made the whole experience memorable.

Very friendly attitude. Great sense of humor. kept us in good spirits the whole time. Very good driver got us to the places safely.

Tips for your trip :)

Oxford: yes, it is possible to see both Christ Church & Bodleian Libraries in 2 hours but you have to literally run between locations, no time to eat or drink and barely anytime to use the washroom one more time before you leave. BOOK THE TICKETS IN ADVANCE: The Christ Church releases tickets every Friday; pay attention to the time zone difference between your country and England so you don’t go to the website too late. You need to book the tickets for the time frame you would be in Oxford with the tour, which reduces the availability even more. The Libraries were sold out when I started searching but they release more tickets on the date, so when you wake up to catch the tour, book your tickets. Half an hour tour is plenty. COTSWOLDS: This tour merely shows one picture-perfect village, because Burford is not really the type of village you dream of when you think Cotswolds. It’s a good place to grab food (I chose Huffkins) and make sure to visit the church. Arlington Row is magical as it can get, so I would suggest anyone to book a Cotswolds-only tour and then a separate tour that goes to Cambridge & Oxford. Keep in mind you need minimum 2 hours in Oxford because of the bookings - even if you were to run as fast as you can. If you are like me, with little time, then this tour is perfect. I wrote this review for those who are doing their homework like I was, trying to figure out which one to choose from. I hope this helps. To the tour company: if this tour started at 8AM we would have more time to explore the villages.

A nice little getaway for the day

My friend and I had a great time on this tour. Our tour guide was Damien and he was funny, very informational, and a great driver. It was really nice to escape London and take a trip to see the Cotswold Villages and Oxford. This day trip is super nice when you want to experience a little bit of England in a short amount of time.

A wonderful day out which I would recommend to everyone.

We loved our Scones and Cream experience in Burford. The buildings are so beautiful. The walk at Bibury was heavenly…..so picturesque Oxford is a marvellous place. We loved the colour and architecture, the Alice in Wonderland shop, the Oxford markets ❤️❤️

Awful customer service

Extremelly didappointd and could not recommend this to anyone. I’ve been using Viator for a long time now and had no problems. This tour was an exception. First of all, I would like to say that tour driver Barry was nice and friendly. What didappointed me most is Tour operator and Viator unhelpfulness. The tour left late because a group of individuals were late. Tour operator advices to book another tour once in Oxford as they will not be showing you around, this is basiccally just driving service. All tours in Oxford start from 11am and we arrived late. We did not manage to catch the Oxford tour we booked, not to mention that all buildings that we wanted to enter were fully booked, so we did not manage to go inside the university halls, libraries or church rooftop. Tour operator did not mention any of this. If you are operating a tour you should give people heads up or at least meet and leave earlier so we can arrive on time. Having paid nearly £200 for this trip I’m extremelly disappointed how this was handled. Do not book this tour. Instead take a train or rent a car and pre-book Oxford tour and entrances to the buildings in advance. There was no compensation issued nor any consideration regarding customer experience on either Viator or Tour operator end. Never again.
