London In One Day Tour with Changing of the Guard

A long day in London but it was great!

We had a great driver and tour guide Lesley! So much knowledge and she knew exactly where to put us for the changing of the guard! We had front row! Made our trip top notch!! We really enjoyed the whole experience and yes we were tired at the end of the day!

Great guide, a bit overpriced

Our tour guide Shelia, was great. She was def the highlight of the tour. Upset we couldn’t see the changing of the guards due to scheduling conflicts. Otherwise a nice tour. Would def say it’s a bit overpriced for what you actually get.

Awesomeness

Very good and excellent way to hit the highlights in London. We could never have made that happen ourselves. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave lots of history. I highly recommend this tour.

What can go wrong

The guide was very informative BUT at the church he took a group to the care cons which was same 75 steps. We told him we would what. Apparently they exited a different way and the 4 of us heard absolutely nothing on the device we were givien. Too make it worse. he had all our remaining tickets. We took a cab and found him at the next stop. Evan Evan’s gave me the quiet # but 3 time calls and texts with no response.

London in One Day Tour

The tour was informative and very enjoyable especially because of the knowledge, thoughtfulness, and patience of our Evan Evans guide Sheila and her skillful driver Idriss. There were challenges because of unexpected road closures due to royal, sports, and protest activities, but Sheila and Idriss deftly navigated through. We enjoyed a royal military parade, a pleasant drive around and through London, a guided tour of the Tower of London, and a cruise up the Thames. Sheila kept us informed, amused, and was careful to make sure nobody was left behind. We are happy to endorse Sheila and Evan Evans tours.

London in One Day Tour

This tour was wonderful! We took it on a Sunday and the city was quiet with not much traffic. We zipped here and there with no trouble and were even able to get into St. Paul’s between services to see the inside of this incredible cathedral. Our guide Sheila was fun and knowledgeable. We especially enjoyed her stories at the Tower of London! We ended the tour with a Thames River Cruise from the Tower to the London Eye, then a turn on the Eye. A wonderful way to spend a day in London!

Great way to see London with limited time.

Eileen was a walking encyclopedia and could answer all our questions. She had fun stories to tell us aside from what one would normally hear. She moved us through so we could see everything we’d come to see and it really encompasses everything we’d hoped to see as well as more. I would highly recommend you take this tour. Just put on your most comfortable walking shoes, because you will do quite a lot of walking and standing in que. (Never in que for very long, however.)

A great way to see London in a day

David was an excellent guide and the tour had a nice pace. We enjoyed the travel around town and loved our stops at St. Paul’s Cathedral and the Tower of London. The river cruise and the London Eye were also highlights of the day. The only caution is that the tour advertises a viewing of the “changing of the guard” but that doesn’t happen every day. We took the tour on a Thursday and the ceremony currently doesn’t happen on Tuesday or Thursday. Nevertheless, we would highly recommend this tour.

Tour was excellent. Showed us sights of London that we would not have seen on our own. Our tour guide, Omar, was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He made the tour special. Loved it

Excellent full day London tour!

Had a great tour with Armyn as our tour guide. He was fantastic! Knew every detail and very entertaining. We had a short time in London so doing the full day tour was the best way to see the sights. The only disappointment was not seeing changing of the guards nor the horses. I understand schedules change but seeing one of these would’ve made my review a five star. Would highly recommend this tour.

Omar is a fantastic guide. Very knowledgable with an excellent way in delivering the historical facts to make the trip very interesting. Ending the excursion with the boat trip down the Thames was worth the price of the tour.

Great tour, but one key spot was missed.

**Review of Our London Tour** We recently embarked on a tour of London and had the pleasure of being guided by Armin. From start to finish, Armin was absolutely wonderful. His extensive knowledge of London's history, combined with his engaging storytelling and warm demeanor, made the experience truly enjoyable. Armin went above and beyond to ensure that everyone in our group felt included and informed, and his passion for the city was evident throughout the tour. However, we were very disappointed with the misleading title and description of the tour. The advertisement promised the iconic "changing of the guards," which was one of the main reasons we chose this specific tour. Unfortunately, this did not happen. When I reached out to the tour operator for clarification, they mentioned that we would instead see the horse parade. This seemed like a fair alternative, and I was looking forward to it. Regrettably, the horse parade was also canceled due to a bike race happening throughout the city. Our tour guide, Armin, explained that this event had been planned for months, and the company should have been aware of it. It's frustrating because this key experience was the primary reason we selected this tour over others available in London. While Armin's exceptional guiding skills greatly enhanced our tour, the disappointment of missing the promised experiences overshadowed our overall satisfaction. I hope the tour company takes this feedback seriously and ensures better planning and accurate descriptions for future tours.

Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He kept the group together and was really personable, answered all of our questions, and was quite humorous. We lived this tour because you saw so much in just one day!

Well worth the cost and worth your time

Overall a very good tour. Tour Director did excellent job with St. Paul’s Cathedral and Changing of the Guard (positioned us in best place ever for good viewing). Disappointed in Big Ben. Thought we’d stop for photo opportunity. Only one side of the bus could view it when we were near (we saw the top of window and roof) as we zoomed past. When mentioned, Tour Director said, as we went around the corner “Look behind you, over your shoulder. There’s a great view”. Yes, if we were contortionists and very, very fast. Left at last stop to figure out how to get back to hotel on our own. Some older couples were very confused.

A Dismal Experience

It sounded like a good tour on your marketing material and it wasn't inexpensive but my friend had not been to London before so we signed up as sort of an orientation for her. 1. The tour guide (Norma? I think) was a very short woman. I realize that is not her fault. However, she kept telling us to follow her umbrella which was held about 1 inch above her head. Buckingham Palace was packed so we couldn't see her to follow her. 2. A couple of times she had said if we lost the group, we should go directly back to the bus. We didn't know where we were exactly or how to get back to the bus which made not being able to follow her easily even the more frustrating. 3. My receiver did not work, i.e., I couldn't hear her. She took "a look at it" and had no idea what to do so told me stay right by her side throughout the tour. I couldn't believe that was her suggestion. Provide these tour guides with extras so if one or two fail, you have a solution. 4. There was no time at Tower of London except for a very quick walk through Disappointing In retrospect, it would have been better to do the tour myself.

Comprehensive tour

The views were amazing! We took Lots of photos! Tour Guide Debbie was great and very knowledgeable and also our driver should get an award for Best Driver! We went on the London in one Day with River Cruise! It was 8 hours for the tour! We saw the most amazing places! If you get a chance while in London take this Tour and Cruise (30 minutes for cruise! It was lovely!

The whole experience is good. Sometimes we can’t hear the guide from the back…no big deal. Interesting places visited. Wish had more time on each.

Great Tour!

Excellent Full day tour of London through Evan Evans Tours. Our guide, Sheila was very good! She was a wealth of info and went at a nice pace. We saw so much, including the Changing of the Guards! But I must admit, we were exhausted by days end so skipped the London Eye. I highly recommend this tour if you only have one day to see London. My only suggestion is to give us longer for lunch. One hour was too short. We had to take the food with us.

Our tour director was amazing and we highly recommend Evan Evans Tour company. The tour of London was informative and we learned a great deal of information.

Great but heavy on the logistics and only get a brief view of things

We had a very informative and funny guide named David. He gave us lots of good information and encouraged questions. However, there was a lot of logistics trying to navigate London with traffic and crowds and some people but a tour for the whole day (us) and others were only morning or afternoon, so he spent a lot of time dealing with that. We also didn't get to spend much time in the Big Ben/Westminster Abby area and we didn't get to see the changing of the guard (too many people) though we did see the new guards coming out of their stalls accompanied by a band. It was all kind of rushed and we were afraid of losing our guide, but we liked him and all the information was valuable.

Fast Pace but Comprehensive

It was a very busy day that managed to take in most London landmarks but it was at a pace that was not all that enjoyable for us. We did take note of those attractions and landmarks to circle back to later and as a sampler, the tour does deliver. In hindsight, we would have better enjoyed half a day at the Tower as it has so much to explore and unless you can get to Buckingham Palace early for the changing of the guard its so busy its hardly worth it. Still, a great way to kick the tires of most icons.

Excellent tour Shelia was so polite and knowledgeable about everything really does know her stuff driver I think it was cory was great also it's a long day but the information we got was ACE would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to start a tour of London .so much information Well Done Shelia

The best of London

We only had one day in London and this tour gave us the chance to see so many things. Our guide was so knowledgeable and fun. The bus driver did a great job. The boat ride was fun. Recommend to anyone who want to see a lot in a little time.

Great memories

Had a wonderful time on this tour. Best part for me was Buckingham Palace and St. Paul's Cathedral. Our wonderful guide, Ruth was very entertaining.

Much to do and see, not enough time to do and see it!

I very much enjoyed our tour guide Dave, he was extremely knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor! It was maybe a bit more to do for my 70 year old bones but we enjoyed seeing all the many places and historical stops!

Great tour for first trip to London

Sheila was a wonderful guide and the tour was a great way for us to see many things during our first trip in London. Our 2 kids 11 & 13 enjoyed it also! I would highly recommend.

Great tour to see tons in one day

My son (19) & I learned so much on this tour with our excellent guide Sheila. We covered so much ground and lucked out with a small group. Sheila knew exactly where to position our group during the Changing of the Guard and had all sorts of great stories and interesting details to share about each place we visited keeping us engaged the entire time. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience!!

Very disappointed

While I have had wonderful tours with Viator previously, this was not one of them.. Although the tour guide was very informative, she was not considerate of the passengers. At the end of the tour she left passengers stranded at the Tower of London requiring a 30 pound cab ride back to the hotel. I left the tour after the changing of the guard, because I was not able to find the group. My friend continued on where she was required to spend an hour at the Evan Evans tour office waiting for the tour to resume. It was intended to be a lunch stop, but she didn’t give much information as to nearby places to eat. All in all I would consider the tour a waste of time and money.

Very professional guide

Great experience! The guide was very informative, I highly recommend doing this on your first day so you can figure out where to spend more time the rest of your stay. Guide is very knowledgeable, I would book them again when I go back to london.

We signed up for the full day tour, day after we arrived in London. The ride on the Eye was cancelled because it was closed. The morning portion was a simple bus tour of the city. There was no walking or sightseeing and our guide didn’t provide a lot of information. We were dropped off at their company office for a 45 minute lunch break. We were joined by a half-day tour group. after lunch. The afternoon portion included watching the changing of the horse guards at Buckingham Palace, St Paul’s & The Tower of London. Our guide’s energy level picked up and she shared interesting & amusing tour commentary. I would recommend the half day tour instead of full day. We could have done the morning portion ourselves by riding the bus.

St. Paul’s Cathedral was impressive. Our guide, Sheila, was very informative anb everything we saw, especially the different neighborhoods of London.

A Great Start

Would recommend this tour as a first day in London thing to do. We did the full day tour. Shelia was a knowledgeable guide, giving us tons of local and historical information. We visited the top things to see in Westminster and London. A good way to get quickly familiar with the sites, take a river cruise, and experience the London Eye.

Tour of London with Sheila

We registered for a bus tour in London that included the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London and a handful of other stops. We were blessed to have Sheila as our guide for the tour. She was friendly, witty and so well informed. We were amazed with her knowledge off the top of her head. Our tour was fun, well organized and just amazing. I recommend Evan Evans and Sheila for any tours you might be interested in taking while in London.
