Viking Cruise excursion: Leeds Castle

Beautiful Leeds CASTLE has a MOAT and gorgeous acres of land and forest. It had fallen into disrepair and was purchased by a wealthy AMERICAN Heiress LADY OLIVE BAILLIE as a vacation home. It was purchased in 1926 for 180,000 English pounds. Mrs Baillie gained her fortune from the American WHITNEY family, and her title from her 3rd husband Sir Adrian BAILLIE. The Castle was modernized by Lady Baillie and professionally decorated by a French interior designer. It remains today with these furnishings and decor.

Easy pre planned trip

The whole day was planned great. I highly recommend a tour like this if you want to see places outside of london. The included transportation made everything a breeze. Our tour guide Kevin was very knowledgable and even pointed out places of interest in between all our stops. I didnt feel rushed anywhere and we had plenty of time to explore each area

Excellent Tour

Excellent trip! We loved our tour guide, Andrew. This was the perfect way to see outside of London, some incredible history, and beautiful sights. This tour took the planning and work off of our shoulders and allowed us to enjoy a relaxing and memorable day!

Excellent day tour of historical places in Kent

The knowledge of the history of the areas visited of our guide Deborah was exceptional . The tour was suitable for those who are not so agile, Both the castle and Cathedral met every expectation

Great experience

Rowan was our tour guide and was very knowledgeable. We had a great time. This was our third day trip with Evan Evans and all have been wonderful.

Excellence Throughout

Wonderful in every way. Preet the driver and, especially Rowan the tour guide were superlative. Rowan even made several recommendations that turned out to be great discoveries. She also offered all sorts of helpful tips for the continuing stay in London. I had no doubts about the quality of Evans Evans tours before I booked and they exceeded expectations. Good buses and timing too. I KNOW I I’ll be coming back.

Leeds Castle, Dover and Canterbury day trip

Our guide Kevin and driver David did a great job making this an enjoyable trip to see a part of England we have not seen previously. Kevin kept us on time and provided an excellent historical background cor not only the places we visited but for England in general. Kevin did double duty translating for some Japanese visitors on the bus with us.

A tour you must take if you're visiting London

It's a great tour with charming and amazing guide tour Cameron and Abdel. The view surrounding Leeds Castle is so pretty.

Beautiful enjoyable trip.

Cameron was knowledgeable and terrific. He provided so many facts and interesting tidbits. Great personality and he made the day enjoyable. Abdel was a great driver. This was one of the better tours and most relaxed and on schedule tours on our trip. Thank you Cameron and Abdel.

It was wonderful

Leeds castle was beautiful and so was the Canterbury Cathedral. Dover was a little disappointing-bit not much you can do about it.

Fantastic tour with our guide Rowan!

The Cathedral is...

The Cathedral is absolutely stunning and much larger than I expected. While the castle is lovely, my personal preference would have been to see the original, not restored/updated building.

Great Day

Our guide Cameron and our driver Sam made this trip especially memorable. . Lead Castle was beautiful (only wish the weather was warmer). White Cliff were beautiful and the sky cleared enough to see the shores of France 🇫🇷. Then off to Canterbury. We had a great day and the long day went by quickly with all of Cameron’s stories and Sam’s smooth handling of the buys. Stan & Lorraine D

Pleasant Day

Pleasant journey to Leeds, Dover and Canterbury. Cameron and Sam were great hosts and very accommodating. Cameron’s acting experience showed in his witty. Interesting commentary. The many additional facts and fun bits of history definitely added to the day’s enjoyment.

Lovely day outside of London

Leeds Castle is so charming and I didn't expect it to be that beautiful. More beautiful than the pictures. Canterbury Cathedral is so out of this world and really big! Definitely recommend Sam and Cameron for their good work throughout the whole day. Always looking out for us. Especially with me with a toddler and the rest with senior citizens.

Our lovely experience at Leeds Castle, Dover and the Magnificent Canterbury

Rowan was our tour guide and she was super great. She was very friendly and made us very welcome. She explained very clearly on the sights and the history of the church. She even joked in between and the tour was very lively and very informative. And thanks to our driver Alex, our road drive was smooth and timely. Thank you Rowan and Alex. Fantastic day trip

Is a truely Fantastic day trip (despite the typical uk weather), highly recommend, especially if you have Rowen and Alex.

Very good experience.

It was very relaxed and comfortable. It was not rushed like some other tours. There was alot of fog on our Dover trip, but itwas still neat to get some pictures of the cliffs and the castle. Canterbury was fascinating and Leeds Castle was beautiful.

Nice tour to shore!!

This was a nice tour. The guide was knowledgable and friendly. I love the places we visited. I wish we have seen a better view of the cliffs of Dover.

Fabulous tour with Chrissy & Yolanda

Beautiful day for our pilgrimage! Chrissy was wonderful and so knowledgeable! Yolanda our driver did a great job and her laugh was contagious! Bonus that we got to hear the tour not only in English but in Japanese as well- so talented! The stops were wonderful and would totally recommend to all!!

Just great. Canterbury is the highlight

Manon was our guide and Sam was our driver to Leeds, Dover and Canterbury. What a great trip. Easy to find the pickup spot in Victoria coach, there was even a Pret in the station so we could get breakfast before heading out. Sam was an amazing driver, and Manon was a wonderful guide. We learned so much about all the sites we visited. I would go again and bring a lunch so as not to use time in Canterbury. I'd eat on the bus en route and spend more time wandering or shopping or having coffee or tea.

Very fun dy trip to Leeds Castle and Canterbury

Full day with very interesting places to visit. We went on a quiet day so we had time to go around in each of the places. Our tour guide Manon was very kind and provide us with all the needed information.

Rushed tour, lying tour guide. Would not recommend.

Godfrey was our tour guide and his humor was dry and not very well received. He lacked enthusiasm and did not seem very knowledgeable. He also lied to the whole group by saying it is not possible to take photos of the Dover White Cliff and all photos on the internet are fake and photoshopped. I have been to Dover in the past and I have photos of the White Cliffs to prove it. Why would he lie to the whole group? We're not gullable tourists. The tour was very rushed and not very engaging. 1. We spent 90 minutes in Leeds Castle with no guide 2. We spent 2 hours in Canterbury (1 hour in the cathedral, 1 hour by ourselves) 3. Did not go to Dover, instead took us to the Battle of Britain Memorial (30 minutes) 4. Tour ended 1 hour earlier (6pm instead of 7pm).

Enjoyed the tour very much. Had plenty of time to explore the Leeds Castle and the Canterbury Cathedral. Our guide Kevin is very kind and knowledgeable. Told us a lot of history in a very interesting way.

Relaxing and pleasant

The castle was very pleasant and well maintained. The cathedral visit was the same and the guides knowledge was informative. Dover cliffs were a complete waste of time. The guide was entertaining on the whole journey. All in all a relaxing and pleasant day trip.

Amazing Leeds & Canterbury Tour

Such an amazing tour! We were lucky to have Rowan as our guide- she was friendly, lively, had clever stories and bits of history to share and kept us on track to maximize every minute. Our driver Paul took the prettiest routes and we enjoyed a pleasant ride. This tour packs a lot in, I loved Leeds Castle, that was my favorite.

An amazing guided tour by Rowan! She have a superb energy despite a quiet group to tour attendees! Very knowledgeable on the tour destinations and highlights at a good pace for young and old. I would highly recommend this tour!

Bus tour history lessons that are fun

I went solo on this tour and really enjoyed it. Our guide, Kevin, was very informative and knows a lot of English history. The talk on the bus on the way out and the way back helps the transit time feel a lot less than 2 hours. Many photos from the places visited. Great historical tour with a bit of more recent history included. Would certainly recommend and again a big thank you to Kevin.

Fantastic tour!

Kevin was very knowledgeable about the places we stopped and some interesting side notes about places in between. The tour was a lot of fun and I loved having time between to rest on the bus before walking again. I would definitely recommend the tour to anyone especially if they are fascinated by the architecture.
