Long time on the bus for a short stop.

We spent a long time (2.5 hours there) on the bus and had 1 hour at the site. Then a 2.5 hour drive back -really not worth it unless you add a stop at Bath or one of the other add-on combinations.

All Around Great Experience

Our trip to Stonehenge was great except for one minor flaw . The video display on our side of the bus didn’t work, but our Driver Dan more than made up for it. He kept us entertained with interesting facts not only about Stonehenge but London as well. He gave us a mini tour as we drove out of London. Stonehenge was amazing to see in person. I really enjoyed the snack pak on the bus.

Rock solid tour

Very glad we chose this tour! The guide was very informative and entertaining during the drive there and back from Stonehenge to the city, and was great at informing us of where to go once we arrived. They provided us with a snack / lunch option, but I would have appreciated a vegetarian option since the sandwich had meat. The rest was amazing! The bus was so comfortable and had a screen with videos to watch about London and a charger port. Would definitely recommend!!

Great guide and experience!

Our guide, Steve, explained what we were viewing on our way out of town. We did pay 6 Eu. for a guide, which was downloaded as this is a self guided tour. We had plenty of time to go around the circle twice, leisurely and also go into the gift store and the cafe. We enjoyed our drive into the countryside.

Stonehenge made easy and fun.

I had a great trip to Stonehenge while staying in London, Our driver Armando made everything super easy, gave us great information and tips to improve my experience. I 100 % recommend this tour and Golden Tours for a trip to see Stonehenge.

Positive experience

We had a great experience on this trip to Stonehenge. The meeting point had numbered signs similar to typical stops. Our driver, Jim, was great. He was funny and gave us clear instructions once we got there. If we had all day I would have definitely chosen the all day tour of the area. I would recommend this Tour company. Tip: There is a convenience store on the corner that sells boxed sandwiches, etc. (Facing the bus, go right. Walk to the corner.)

1/2 Day Stonehenge Tour

This was an incredible bucket list experience for my husband and I. Here is a summary of the pros and cons. PROS: * Our driver Armando was great. He gave us some good humored "history" on some of the more notable places we drove past on our way out of the city, but gave us some quiet time once we hit the main roadway. * The bus came equipped with a USB port, so bring a cable to charge your device. * They offered a boxed lunch when we boarded the bus, which was a surprise. * The tour company provided rain ponchos (which was nice and unexpected) * Bus was equipped with a toilet, but is really more for "light" use, as pointed out by Armando. * You have 2 hours to explore the site once you arrive. It is a 30 min walk from the bus parking to the stones, so we decided to take the 5 min shuttle there and back so we could explore the other areas, and still make it back to the bus in time. CONS: * The bus was not well maintained. * The seats are pretty tight. I'm not a large person (5'4 /130 lbs) and I felt cramped. * Seats were broken - the seat in front of my husband was broken. If the guy in the seat in front of him leaned back, it made the seat recline all the way back and the tray table was practically in my husband's stomach. * The seat back on the seat in front of me was broken, so the plastic covering was knocking into my shins. * The pick up point is near Buckingham Palace, but they drop you off 25 mins further out. You either have to walk back, take the tube or pay for a cab. I don't understand the logic of paying for "roundtrip" transportation if you are not dropped off at the same location (or neighborhood) where you were picked up. PRO TIP: * They do not allow hot food or beverages on the bus, so consume both before boarding. * We went in late April, so the weather was still quite cool 47° F in London. It was much cooler (and windy) at Stonehenge, so dress appropriately and wear a hooded jacket or bring a hat in case it rains (which it did when we arrived). Umbrellas are useless in the wind. * Download the audio tour BEFORE you go. You will waste time downloading it at the visitor center. Also, everyone is trying to download on the WIFI, so guaranteed to be a slow download. All things considered, it was a great experience and I'm glad we did it!!

5 stars! Clean comfortable bus. Quick, efficient check in. Armando our driver was excellent! Safe driver, wonderfully entertaining and informative ! Glad we chose this tour giving us just over 2 hours at Stonehenge … we needed every minute of it. I would recommend this tour! Word of caution… they will leave you if you are late back onto the bus.

Amazing view.my Mom enjoyed the trip very much. The driver which is also a tour guide was bery friendly and funny. Gave us a lot of information about places building and architectures.

Almond made it great!

Had a free afternoon so took the tour to Stonehenge. Coach Driver was Aromond and he was excellent as driver, tour guide, jokester and historian. I doubt to trip would have been as enjoyable if Armand was not the host. Five stars!

Fantastic Experience in the British Country

Went on a tour to Stonehenge and had a amazing time just taking in the history and being in awe of human ingenuity in pre history. I was surprised that I had just as wonderful of a time on my way there thanks to my tour driver Jim who told us about the history of London along the way and made thing even more delightful with an excellent sense of humor that kept things casual.

Great tour guide for Stonehenge

Really enjoyable experience. About a 2 hour drive out from London, but Jim made the journey enjoyable. He shared facts of London as we were driving through town and then shared Stonehenge facts as we got closer to the site. If you want to see Stonehenge, easy way to do it and plenty of time to get it done.

Good trip

Stonehenge is a once in a lifetime experience. One needs more than the two hours allotted to see all the Stonehenge sites, but still worth it.

First time and we enjoyed the day

Getting to the bus stop in the morning was easy. The tour information was well communicated and documented. Bring water or snacks as there is nothing on the bus. However, when you arrive the food at the guest service area is really good. We enjoyed our lunch. It was very cold and windy when we were there so we didn’t stay outside long. Seeing the stones was really amazing. The bus driver did a great job providing history when we were departing London and arriving at Stonehenge.

Our driver Kiran was a knowledgeable and kind man, we loved his commentary and calm demeanor. Stonehenge was a blast and when we come to London next I’ll be sure to book with this company again! A+ time, thanks a bunch!

Do not take this tour!!

This was a total scam! We were waiting at the address given for meetup with others on the tour and the bus never came!! We messaged and called the company and they didn’t answer until after the scheduled time of departure. They then made us walk to the Golden Bus Tour company office to find out what happened. When we all got there, the staff lied and said the bus had come and left without us! We showed them pictures of us at the meetup address half an hour before departure and the unanswered messages and they said too bad! No offer of remediation, refund, nothing. There was no bus!!!!! We ended up all taking the train to Stonehenge and salvaging our day (at great expense) after this horrible experience. I have written to Viator for a refund on our tickets and am waiting for a response. Horrible, horrible!!! We woke up early, took Ubers to get to the spot and then spent 2 hours trying to resolve things. The staff at Golden bus Tours were horrid.

Lovely quick and informational!

Our driver Jim was great! Informational and funny and really friendly, the coach was comfy and the drive was quick (as it can be) and easy. Being able to walk Stonehenge at our own pace was great, this is a tour for anyone who wants to be in control of their own pace!

The bus stop did change but this was figured out fast. From there it was a interesting ride with commentary from the driver about London and Stone henge.

Poor customer service, no instructions. They would not credit/refund.

Specific instructions to the bus stop #8 were not actually provided despite the tour operator saying so. I could not find the location after we were given the wrong directions to stop#8. I even left my place early to make up for the mishaps, and I asked several locals nearby who did not know as well. The bus stop information is quite unclear. Golden Bus Tours refused to apply my ticket towards another booking or resold as they say. Instead, they said that I would have to pay 50% of the cost of a future ticket with them. Even though 50% is better than nothing, I realize that it is not worth it. Why? You do not actually get to touch the stones. It’s not their fault but I would not recommend the tour. It’s costly and they were not accommodating to me. I am not from here and traveled alone. Given the popularity of this tour, they should be more empathetic and demonstrate it through the aforementioned accommodation and simply allow reselling the ticket/applying the value towards another tour. And no, the stop is not easy to find. We asked several locals and none of them knew where to go. They were as confused as we were. And no, there were no instructions to the bus stop 8.

Enjoyable

The half-day Stonehenge trip was quite enjoyable. The bus was full but very comfortable. The drive through the countryside gave us a glimpse of life outside of London city. We spent 2 hours viewing the “stones”. Unfortunately our audio tour did not work but we were able to listen to it once we got back to our hotel. So all-in-all we spent more time on the bus (2 hours there and 2 hours back) than at the site. It was still worth going.

Worth the trip!

The Stonehenge is 2 hours outside of London but worth the trip! Our guide Jim was great! Enjoyed his energt and humor, and appreciate his many fun facts throughout the trip.
