Me and my boyfriend did the 3D2N Rinjani tour with Jou Trekking and we had an amazing experience! While it was very intense, it was so worth it with all the beautiful views you get on Mount Rinjani. We were in a group of 5 lovely people and had the best guides: Lim and Rema 😍. They were amazing! Very kind, caring and hard workers. Also we couldn’t have done this without the porters who work so hard and have all my respect. We were taken good care of every day by the team of porters and guides who supplied us with good food and nice hiking and camping materials. Additionally I was happy to see that within this company, people (guides amongst others) take care of the environment on the volcano and leave no trash behind 💪🏼. Thanks everyone from Jou Trekking who made this cool trip possible!

Excellent experience, friendly guide (Rudi was just simply great- supportive at challenging part of the trek and flexible with our enquiries ) as well as our amazing porters (Bathur and Sabri - what they can make in this high level of mountain, it is breathtaking, beautiful and tasty food 🥘 as we felt like they brought a little hotel up there :) therefore, it was really hard trek and challenging some hiking parts but worthy lookouts all around your trip (not just a peak , but also volcano and lake and panorama all around)

Jou Trekking took care of us in every aspect. Picked us up, dropped us off. Our guide was fantastic, Anton, he encouraged us and took us all the way to the top with a smile on his face. Our porters carried our food and water, tents and sleeping bags, all the equipment we needed and more. We had plenty of food and water with some tasty meals on the side of a mountain. the veiws were pheonomenal. Provided with plenty of snacks, a hot breakfast, lunch and dinner. Fresh water and a hot drink with every meal. Plus soft drinks for energy. Our tents were set up for us, will swags and pillows, a clean sleeping bad and a portable toilet. We were looked after and treated so well by our host, Would absolutely recommend.

3D2N Trekking Mount Rinjani

Words cannot describe the amazing experience we had thanks to Jou Trekking. If you want to start a crazy adventure climbing Rijani, this is by far the best agency. First of all, we were not really equipped: no hats, gloves, scarves... but Jou and Rodi, our guides lent us everything and we were confident that we were in good shape for the climb. Then our guide, Rodi, and our two porters, yon and Tan, were very friendly towards us: they accompanied us throughout the trip and made sure that we didn't miss anything: amazing food, a little culinary break... We shared moments it was wonderful to be with them and it is partly thanks to that that I will always look back on this experience with great emotion. Apart from that, waste collection is also important considering the presence of dirt in certain places. I would also like to add that I didn't have suitable hiking shoes and Jou recommended a good shop to buy them in Mataram. In short, if it's still not clear: I recommend this experience 100%. Transfers, logistics, full attention to the individual abilities of tour participants, providing motivation, bringing snacks and water between three meals, the most beautiful camping field in peace and seclusion even though there are many people, warm and very refreshing summit tea, consistently delicious food, and lots of options (including fruit plates for breakfast and lunch), a wide selection of hot and cold drinks. Bring water to clean volcanic dust. Top-notch camping equipment is always fully prepared for us when we arrive at the camp. A big plus: No rubbish was left behind, and our guide even collected rubbish along the way during the tour. So a very successful tour. Many thanks to Awan, our guide, and to our 3 porters, Satar, Din, and Oman, who did an amazing job for us and were always cheerful and attentive.

Amazing experience, best tour guide

I went on a 3-day tour from Sembalun to Senaru with my two children, aged 19 and 15 years old. Contacting Jou Trekking via email was very professional. Immediate and detailed answers to all of our questions. All tour packages are also perfectly organized. Round-trip transportation, pick-up, and registration at the beginning of the tour. Everything is very relaxed. The tour itself was challenging, tough, but a unique experience. Special mention goes to our guide Aton and his porters, who brought everything (food, water, sleeping bags, tents) for us. We always felt very safe with Aton, and he consistently encouraged us during the tour. Communication in English is very good. I especially want to mention that Aton and his team always choose very special locations, such as a tranquil spot at the hot springs and a remarkable site at the second camp. Thank you so much to the team; without you all, we wouldn't have been able to do this amazing tour.

3 day 2 night

Gorgeous island, stunning scenery, and lovely locals. We opted for the Sembalun-Summit-Senaru package, which lasted 3 days and 2 nights. The meals were well-balanced and included fresh fruits for lunch and dinner. Our guide, Benji, was both helpful and knowledgeable. Due to hiking during the rainy season, we encountered a few hours of rain on the first two days. Benji's expertise ensured we stuck to our schedule despite the weather. We are thankful for him and the porters who prepared hot, fresh meals for us throughout the entire three days.

Thank you, Jou Trekking, for this unforgettable adventure! We booked the 3-day/2-night package, and everything was great! It was my first camping experience, and I couldn't have asked for a better one. The tents and sleeping bags are very comfortable. Our guide, Anton, and the porters were amazing. Lim, Satar, and Iksan are the best team ever! Our guide, Lim, was very kind in teaching us a lot about the language and Indonesia. We really enjoyed our 3-day tour. Satar and Iksan, in addition to being amazing porters (we honestly don't know how they do it), made our trip very special. They set up camp in a private location, away from the hustle and bustle of other tents. One of the best experiences of lives, all only thanks to the three of them of genuine effort way ensure maximum comfort possible for you. The climb? Yes, one of the most challenging things we have ever done! We love hiking, but Rinjani's terrain is different! Fantastic Trip, highly recommend

We had a fantastic experience with Jou Trekking. The owner was very responsive to our questions and ensured that transportation to and from Rinjani was arranged. Our guides, Rema and Awan, were amazing in leading us through the 3 day 2 night trip. We had an amazing experience: everything from the clear communication, to the hike itself. The team was incredibly flexible with accommodating some last minute changes in plans, supported us in going above and beyond to coordinate travel to and from the experience and our team even helped us find several local specialties after the trip (things we would have never been able to find on our own!!). Great guy, great company

I went with my wife for the 3D2N Rinjani private tour with Jou Trekking company. Since the first communication on WhatsApp Jou was really nice, always helpful and supportive. The infrastructure he provides is differentiated: amazing food, great team of guide and porters, good tent, mattress, sleeping bags and he even lent us trekking poles. The guide Anton and the porters John and Adis are super stars, they made everything for this challenging hike to be as smooth as possible for us. My wife was unsure on whether she was fit enough to complete the tough second day so we asked Jou to have the flexibility to sleep the second night by the lake and hike up to the other side of crater rim early on the third day. This was a great idea as we got to the lake a bit late and super tired. As we camped there we had enough time to enjoy the relaxing hot springs for more than one hour and even swim at the lake while awaiting our pop corn and tea. We saw some groups rushing and only staying at the springs for 10-15min as they needed to hike up before dark, so we were really glad we had that flexibility. Worth mentioning that Jou will not be the cheapest tour option, but bear in mind that we spoke with a lot of people and we heard several complaints ranging from tour organization, communication, broken tent, poor food and even groups not being able to complete the whole journey. We saw great value on paying a bit more for the safety and quality provided by Jou on this hard hike and I strongly recommend doing it with his team! Finally, Jou is also concerned about the environment and he pays extra for his porters to collect trash from other groups down the mountain, what is a really nice attitude! Well done Jou and team, and thanks for the support on the beautiful Rinjani trek

Unbelievable Adventure for us with Rinjani

We have great experience with Jou trekking. 3 days 2 nights is really a unforgettable choice. Jou trekking has provided really good food and guide for us. Rudi as our guide is really nice and thoughtful for us. He has more experience trekking Rinjani from very young age, and has explained everything we discussed.

Jou is AMAZING! Go with JOU!

We found Jou through a youtube video (the one with two couples) and truth be told, Jou was not our first choice as there were other operators on youtube who had glitzy reviews and looked very good as well. But boy was I wrong - Jou and his team were very professional and highly experienced. Jou himself replies to messages very quickly, and he goes all out to ensure that our experience was a smooth one. Don't let his appearances fool you, he is 100% on the ball and is always trying to make your experience better. Our guide Anton, and the two porters, Salim and Sayud, were also the kindest and friendliest people ever who prepared for us the most delicious meals during our hike. Fried rice in the middle of nowhere? Sure! Green curry chicken on top the the crater? No problem. Fried banana fritters with hot chocolate? Do I even need to ask!? They've got cooking locked down to a T and honestly, the views are nice but I'm more impressed by the porter's fitness and agility to get there before us in flip flops, prepping the food and tents all ready for us for when we arrive later. That's how fit they are. Initially we planned on doing a 3D/2N trek via Sembalun > Crater Rim > Summit > Segara Anak Lake > Torean, however after having heard the time it'll take us to get from the Segara Anak Lake to Torean (15 hours ish), we said no and decided to go back the same way we came from and camp another night up at the crater rim. Our guide and Jou's team were very flexible in catering to our needs and I am very thankful for that. Additionally, he helped us to arrange for a private boat transfer pick up directly from the beach of our hotel in Gili on the day of our departure, and also arranged for a driver to send us to the airport. The boat arrived right on time at 0645hrs and I must say that I am truly impressed by this. Thank you so much Jou for making our trip a very memorable one and we hope to return to visit Torean one day! H+S

Adventure worth every drop of sweat

We chose private tour 3 days, 2 nights. Everything went smoothly. They picked us up in the harbour and drove us to Senaru where we had a briefing before trekking. The overnight stay was simple but had everything we needed. Our guide Rudy and the porters took care of us throughout the trekking. The trek itself is hard, be prepared, because the second day is rigorous and not everybody make it! But as beautiful as it can be, we loved the whole experience and can not recommend it enough!

Mount Rinjani 3D 2N Trek

I did this activity with 2 other friends and we actually didn’t train prior to this trek. A medium to high level of fitness is definitely required to summit rinjani however with the continuous support and patience of our guide, Sahidi(Cideng) and his team of porters, we managed to overcome the difficulties. The 3D 2N is a comprehensive package which includes a pickup from the airport/pier to a 1 night stay before the start of the trek and a send off to your next destination in Lombok. It was a well worth experience and we definitely chose the right trek organizer to go through this journey with.

3d/2n summit Rinjani trekking, one of the more expensive ones, but you get more: free pick-up and drop off anywhere in Lombok, accomodation in homestay + breakfast night before trekking, extensive meals, fruit, biscuits, water and a bottle of coke per day, chairs, decent tents, mattress, sleeping bag and pillow, a porter per person. They make the trekking as comfortable as they can for you, although you're the one that still needs to do the challenging hike! Because that's what it is, pretty challenging. But then also beautiful views! Our guide was Awan, who was brilliant, very accommodating in view of pace, safety and info about the mountain. And a brilliant team of porters. Did I need this much of 'comfort'? Maybe not, but did I enjoy it, definitely! So would go again with Jou Trekking! 🙏

Excellent trekking agency + Environmentally conscious

every part of the trip was fantastic. Jou organized a pick up for me, and a very nice villa for me to stay in the night before the trek. I was accompanied by Ris (guide), Gendeng and his brother (porters. I unfortunately did not get a chance to ask them how to write the brother’s name). The hike itself is gorgeous. Plenty of beautiful vistas of the National park, Mt Rinjani, Mt Baru Jari, and the Segara Anak lake. There are two things that stand out from this trek with Jou: 1. The guides are very well prepared (I unfortunately saw incidents where guides from other agencies were unable to administer basic medical treatment on the mountain). 2. This agency really puts a significant effort into collecting as much trash as possible (including those left behind by others) and maintaining a clean environment on the mountain. I highly recommend Jou’s trekking agency for those who wish to climb Mt. Rinjani.

One of the Best Trekking Companies Around

Jou Trekking was the only company that responded to my request to hike Rinjani and they did an excellent job. I had a private trek with two porters and the best English speaking guide I could get (Lim). I realized very quickly on the mountain that I picked the best guide/company to hike Rinjani with. Firstly, the guide actually stays with you at your pace and doesn’t leave you to run ahead like I saw other guides do to their clients. They also strategically place your tent so you can have the best views, and be away from crowds and monkeys. They also take care of everything for you (food, cooking, setup, tear down) and they provided an extra porter for me to carry my large backpack with heavy camera gear so I could get my shots of the mountain without dying along the way (@adriangilaniphotography) The trek itself is pretty hard. Out of the hundreds of people trying to make it to the summit for sunrise I was one of ten people that made it to the summit on time. Most people made it after sunrise because it took them so long and lots of people gave up. My guide Lim was very encouraging, knew my hiking skill level, and we were lucky with perfect weather. Overall I would recommend Jou Trekking as they can taylor to your needs and are very good at what they do.

3 Days Rinjani Trek with Jou trekking

Hardest thing I’ve ever done but Jou Trekking made it as smooth a journey as possible. our guide Lim was amazing. He did everything he could to make sure our trip was enjoyable. He also collected rubbish along the way, which was so good to see because unfortunately there is so much rubbish at the lake and camp. The food was delicious and lots of it! We were treated so well on our trip. The Summit climb is really hard but so worth it. The views are incredible! All in all I would recommend everyone do their Mount Rinjani trek with Jou Trekking!!

We did the 4 day 3 night trek to Mount Rinjani summit. Everything was so well organized, since the moment we arrived in the hotel the day before till the driver took us to Gili Air island with private baot after coming down from Rinjani. 3 day trek

My friend and I did the 2D3N trek with Jou Trekking and the whole experience was just perfect. Seemless airport pickup, overnight stay in Villa Bambu clean and cosy accommodation, great guide and porters and amazing food. The porters even carried foldable table and chairs for us as well as did up a makeshift toilet for us, making our experience a fantastic one. Amazing Adventure with Jou Trekking

My sister and I did the Mount Rinjani 3D2N Trekking tour starting sembalun ending in Senaru, and it was one one the best experiences I’ve ever had. We opted for the Group tour package, but we ended up having a private tour anyways with Nas as our guide. he was so patient and helpful. All of the food was incredible, we had the best camping spot on the crater rim, and the camping gear was great. We got to watch two spectacular sunsets from our spot while eating dinner and drinking hot chocolate. We joked that we felt like we were being treated like royalty because everything was excellent. I’m really glad we did 3D2N because going down to the lake and hot springs was definitely worth it. The views were incredible. Also, I really like how Jou Trekking carries out all of the trash. It’s definitely a huge problem on the mountain, so I felt better knowing that we weren’t contributing to it, Highly recommend to anyone who is consider to trek.

One of my best experience

We did the Mount Rinjani 3D2N Trekking to the summit and everything about it was fantastic. The guides were super helpful, caring and knowledgable, they consistently made sure everyone was ok and looked after us incredibly well. The porters were all super friendly and did such an awesome job. The food was unbelievable and there was so much of it. All the equipment was excellent, Jou Trekking is the best! Absolutely INCREDIBLE experience!!!

My wife and I just completed the 3D,2N trek of Mount Rinjani.  We booked online with Jou trekking months before we arrived in Lombok. Jou was very easy to deal with over Whatsapp and responded very quickly to answer all of our questions. Once we arrived in Lombok,  we messaged Jou to arrange pickup all the way in Kuta. His driver arrived and drove us over 3 hours up north to Senaru. He even stopped in a local village where my wife was shown how to weave the beautiful local blankets.  We were then driven to meet Jou and to finalize our arrangements for the next 3 days.  The driver then took us to Bambu Villas where we spent the night in a beautiful bamboo villa. We were treated like royalty there and had an amazing night. At 7am the next morning our driver picked us up and took us to Jou's office where we met our guide and 2 porters. Next we were driven in a truck for about one hour to the Sembulan village. We had to complete our physical exam and register to trek in the national park.  Afterwards it was a short ride to the entrance gate where we strapped on our packs and started our journey. Our private guide, Lim, and 2 porters, Nurdin and Muliadi were the BEST. Lim spoke excellent English and was absolutely crucial in us completing this trek. He knows Rinjani like the back of his hand and we couldn't have asked for a better guide.  Nurdin and Muliadi raced up and down the mountain like gazelles,  only in flip flops. These 2 guys had our campsites set up before we arrived every time. The meals that they prepared for us, breakfast, second breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks including appetizers were incredible.  You honestly would not believe the amount of food prepared.  Most meals we could never finish all of the food. It was sooooo delicious (enak sekali)!!! Some of the best Indonesian food we ate during our 3 week stay.  We never were worried about water either, and we drink A LOT of water. After reaching the crater rim on the 1st night, we headed to bed after watching an incredible sunset. The 1:30AM get up was early but we started our trek to the summit at 2AM. Lim had us up at the top if Rinjani by 5:15AM where we had about an hour wait until the sun rose. ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE is all I can say. The most beautiful sight we have ever seen. The view is out of this world! After we returned to base camp at the crater rim, we had another breakfast,  and a 30min break before we started the 2nd leg of our journey on Day #2.  We started descending down into the crater to visit the hot springs and walk along the lake next. This part of our trek was grueling.  Nobody really talks about the 2nd part of day 2. This was very challenging even if you are an experienced hiker. There is a path but a lot of it is climbing down the inside of a mountain, down huge rocks and steep terrain. We had lunch after 3 hours and then had another hour to reach the lake and hot springs.  The views were amazing and the lake was so beautiful. Well worth the trek down. The only problem with getting down there is that you MUST climb back up to the top of the crater rim on the Senaru side of Rinjani. Lim explained that the trek used to be easier before the earthquake in 2018 and numerous landslides.  The new path had to be rerouted and included about a 3.5-4 hour ROCK CLIMB up to the crater rim. The foot paths are extremely narrow and you are literally scaling the side of a cliff all the way up. Lim was AMAZING to help my wife during the scary or most challenging moments.  He truly was INVALUABLE and we would never had made it out without his help. All the while the porters were passing us in flip flops while carrying 60kgs each on their backs. Insane. We eventually made it to the other side of the crater rim where our camp had already been set up and was waiting for us. Luckily we arrived 15mins before the sunset. My wife bawled her eyes out after we were safe. Day #2 was the most insane, ridiculously hard physically, emotionally and mentally demanding task either has ever completed.  We hiked or rather rock climbed for nearly 16 hours with a few short breaks. Our bodies were defeated and legs and knees screaming. The view from the Senaru crater rim was just as beautiful.  You can see the 3 Gili islands,  the volcano and lake inside of the crater. It was truly breathtaking! After dinner and a full night's rest, we were awakened at 6:20AM with breakfast and a plan to pack up and start the trek down to the Senaru gate.... the finish line.  This 6 hour hike down off the mountain was the easiest of them all. The difficult part was that both of us had extremely sore knees and legs which made it a little slower for us. Our guide Lim was EXTREMELY PATIENT with us and assured us that we didn't need to rush. Hati Hati was our motto. We just wanted to get down safely. We stopped for our final lunch with our guide and porters about 15mins before the final exit gate at Senaru. We had a very emotional goodbye and took photos with all of the guys. These heroes DO NOT get paid enough for what they provide to their clients. This experience was without a doubt the toughest thing we have ever done but also the MOST REWARDING.  These 3 days we will never forget. Tempiasi Jou, Lim, Nurdin and Muliadi!! If you are looking to test yourself and want the most incredible experience of your life..... look no further. There are a number of different options depending on your comfort level and experience if the 3D,2N trek sounds too much for you. The 2D,1N option from Sembulin allows you to summit without entering the crater,  or the 2D,1N option from Senaru is a MUCH easier hike up and down with exceptional views as well. Book with Jou Trekking and make sure to ask for Lim and his porters. Pro tip: Make sure you have good hiking boots, warm clothes for the summit and at night as well as trekking poles. Awesome trek to Rinjani with the best guide and porters!

Jou Trekking is very professional. We did the 3 days and 4 nights trekking with our guide Lim, he is the best! (A lot of experience and handling with care). Together with the porters they always arranged the best spots for camping on more quiet places with the best views. The food was very good and always sufficient for us, including snacks.

Hard work but probably the most rewarding thing I’ve done - view was amazing! And my guide Josi was an awesome guy, he made the trek much more fun! The two porters were great too. Food was really good, tents were comfy with good quality sleeping bag and a thick mattress so I wasn’t cold. 100% recommend :)

Mount Rinjani Trekking – Insane 3 Day Volcano Trek

Mount Rinjani Trekking is an insane 3 day, 2 night trek which involves hiking up 3726 metres to the top of the crater rim. During the 3 days you will camp along the crater rim above the clouds with views of Bali and the Gili islands. You’ll also be able to witness the insane blue lake located within the crater as well as a volcano. There are also volcanic hot springs which you will be able to relax in after a long day of trekking. How to get to the Mount Rinjani Trek As part of our Mount Rinjani Trekking package with Jou Trekking, it included a pick up from our hotel anywhere on Lombok. The day before the trek, you’ll be picked up from your accomodation on Lombok. You’ll then be taken to a new hotel located in the small town of Senaru. The following morning, you’ll be taken to the start of the trek. Mount Rinjani Trekking Packages There are 3 options to choose from when deciding what Mount Rinjani Trekking package to go for. – 2D/1N involves camping at the crater rim followed by an early wake up at 2am the next day where you will hike to the summit. After reaching the summit you’ll hike back the way you came, finishing where you started. – 3D/2N involves camping at the crater rim followed by an early wake up at 2am the next day where you will hike to the summit. After reaching the summit you’ll hike back to camp and continue along down into the crater where you’ll stop for a quick break by the lake and hot springs. After a short rest, you’ll continue up the other side of the mountain to the next camp. The final day is all downhill, descending the other side of the mountain where you will end up in Senaru. – 4D/3N is the same program as 3D/2N, however the second day is broken up into an extra night. After hiking to the summit, you’ll make your way down into the crater and spend an extra night camping by the lake and hot springs. We decided to go for the 3D/2N option and booked our tour through Jou Trekking. We can’t recommend them enough. The guide and porters are all super friendly and helpful. They also provide you with delicious food and a different type of dish everyday. To make your trek as painless and easy as possible, it’s a good idea to bring these few extra things! Jirapan and I did the hike in Vans and it was definitely tough and slippery but we managed just fine with only a few sore toes. Warm clothes – During the day it’s very hot but as soon as the sun disappears, it can reach 10 degrees celsius. We rented thick winter coats from Jou Trekking which definitely saved us. We wouldn’t have been able to handle the night without the coats. Trekking pole – We don’t think we could have done the hike without one. The Mount Rinjani Trek is very slippery and full of loose dirt so the trekking pole was that extra bit of support which we needed. Swimmers – Don’t forget to bring swimmers for when you visit the hot springs! After trekking for hours, the hot springs were exactly what our muscles needed to warm up and relax. Sun screen – It’s a good idea to put a bit of sunscreen on your face while you’re hiking for 8+ hours each day in the sun! Snacks – The trekking company will bring some snacks for you to keep your energy levels up. It’s a good idea to bring a few extra of your own so you can stop and have a quick energy boost! Lip balm – The drastic hot and cold changes in the weather definitely took a toll on our lips. If you want to avoid having sore and chapped lips for the following week, it’s a great idea to bring some lip balm! Money – It’s expected that you tip the guide and porters for their hard work, so be sure to bring some cash with you. What to expect (3D/2N) Mount Rinjani Trekking is definitely the toughest thing we’ve ever done. It takes a lot of mental and physical work to push yourself beyond your limits everyday and hike for such long hours. It is definitely an incredible once in a lifetime experience and we encourage you to do it if you’re up for the challenge. Day before the trek The day before the Mount Rinjani Trekking, you will be picked up from your accommodation on Lombok and will be taken to a new hotel in the small town of Senaru. At this new hotel, they will give you a quick run through about what the trek will consist of. Day 1 At 6:30am you’ll have breakfast at your hotel then picked up by your driver at 7am. From the town of Senaru, you’ll drive roughly 1 hour to the registration area. Here you’ll need to register and provide your passport number before you start your trek. This should only take 5 minutes. From there, you’ll drive another 5 minutes to the start of the trek located at Sembulan. You will meet your guide and follow him up into the mountains. The first 3 hours of the trek is fairly flat and only slightly uphill through some forest and grass. After the first 3 hours, you’ll stop for a long lunch break then continue up to the crater rim camping spot. From lunch it’s roughly another 4 hours till camp. It gets steeper and steeper until you reach the campsite. We reached camp just in time for sunset and spent the night watching the sun go down above the clouds. Day 2 Day 2 of the Mount Rinjani Trekking starts bright and early at 2am. You’ll have a light breakfast then set off in the dark with headlights for a 3-4 hour walk to the summit for sunrise. For breakfast we ate hot noodle soup, which was much needed to help warm us up. The walk is incredibly hard and definitely the toughest part of the whole trip. The ground is full of loose gravel which means you slip every step you take. We struggled at the last 500m but managed to reach the top at 7:30am. As we reached the top, we were all physically and mentally drained. We were all happy with our accomplishment and took a moment to appreciate the breathtaking view. You’ll have a panoramic view above the clouds. You’ll see as far as Bali, with Mount Agung in the distance as well as the Gili Islands. After we took photos at the summit, we made our way back down to camp which took another 3 hours. Once back at camp, we had a bigger breakfast consisting of burgers and fries. After this we went straight to visit the hot springs. To get down to the hot springs in the crater, it took us 3 hours. We spent 30 minutes at the hot springs then hiked 5 hours back up the other side of the mountain. We had to trek a bit in the dark and managed to reach camp at 8pm. In total we walked about 13 hours this day so we crashed out straight away. Day 3 The final day of the Mount Rinjani Trekking! You’ll have breakfast at 6:30am and leave around 7am. The walk down is the easiest hike out of the 3 days. You’ll descend through the jungle for about 6 hours and stop for lunch just before the finish line. Once you cross the finish you’ll need to sign out. From here you’ll walk a further 30 minutes on a paved road back to the town of Senaru.

An amazing Trek!!

We booked our trek to Mount Rinjani with Jou Trekking. Everything about this very challenging climb, from start to finish was amazing. Jou and team are professional and very well organised catering with first class professionalism every detail from the quality tents, sleeping bags, mattresses to the amazing food. The guides were amazing, explaining everything and always ready to help out. The porters and camp crew catered to our every needs, setting up our very comfortable camp. We will definitly recommand Jou trekking for this unique experience!

incredible tour

My girlfriend and I did the 3 days/ 2 nights trekking at Mount Rinjani. Everyone at Jou Trekking is so friendly and helpful. I'm afraid we weren't well prepared in terms of having the right things but it didn't matter as Jou Trekking had everything for us! The trek itself was amazing and the views were spectacular. I'd say I'm pretty fit and I do a lot of walking but I still found this trek very tough. You need mental strength to keep going but it's worth it! Our guide, DD, was patient and attentive to our needs. Our porters cooked well and set-up our tents well before we reached the designated stop for the night. DD and the porters also ensured that garbage was brought down and not left on Rinjani. Thank you Jou Trekking !

Super aventure

Nous avons passé 3 jours incroyables sur le Rinjani grâce à Jou Trekking ! Tout était parfaitement bien organisé : le trajets, les campements, les repas... Notre guide, Lim, était formidable et les porteurs ont fait un travail de fou pour que nous puissions avoir la meilleure expérience possible. Nous n'avons manqué de rien, tout était parfait. Jou à même organisé tout notre trajet retour vers les îles Gili. Je ne peux que vous recommander cette expérience si vous êtes sportifs et voulez vous challenger !

Jou Trekking, best Trekking!

Die Wanderung mit Jou Trekking auf den Gunung Rinjani war einfach Klasse! Unser Guide Limb war immer für uns da und ist eine der herzlichsten, nettesten und stärksten Menschen! Das Wohl seiner „Kunden“ steht für ihn an erster Stelle! Trotzdem konnten wir viel mit ihm Lachen. Zu jeder Zeit wusste er genau was richtig für uns ist. Nach einigen Stunden mit starken Regenschauern durften wir 2 Stunden in den Hot springs verbringen. Die Porter kümmerten sich in dieser Zeit um das Essen und den Aufbau unserer Zelte. Was mir besonders gut gefällt ist, dass sich Jou‘s Organisation für die Sauberhaltung des Naturschutzgebietes um den Mount Rinjani einsetzt. Jeder Müll wird von den Portern wieder in die Stadt gebracht und dort ordnungsgemäß entsorgt! Für jeden der selbst einmal auf den Rinjani möchte, ob ein, zwei oder drei Tage, Jou Trekking würde ich jedem weiterempfehlen!

Der Trip war unheimlich anstrengend aber auch wunderschön. Limb war der beste Guide, den wir uns hätten wünschen können und hat sich mit seinem Team so toll um uns gekümmert. Wir konnten uns immer auf ihn verlassen, er hat alles dafür getan, dass wir uns sicher und wohl fühlen. Gleichzeitig war er aber auch unheimlich herzlich und unterhaltsam. Besonders schön fanden wir, dass Jou Trecking sich nicht nur um die Menschen, sondern auch die Natur auf dem Rinjani kümmert. Das ganze Team hat sehr darauf geachtet, den Trip möglichst nachhaltig zu gestalten und jede Pause für ein Clean-Up der Umgebung genutzt.

Uneingeschränkte Empfehlung!

Wir hatten einen Top Guide (Sultan), mit dem wir tatsächlich zum Sonnenaufgang auf dem Gipfel waren (viele Gruppen sind dort erst angekommen, als die Sonne bereits stand). Das Essen war unglaublich gut und auf Anfrage alles vegetarisch. Die Zelte und Schlafsäcke waren in einwandfreiem, frischem Zustand.

Perfecte Trek en organisatie

Deze trek met Jou Trekking was echt fantastisch! Perfecte organisatie en communicatie, lekker eten, en kwalitatieve tent en slaapzakken. We kregen zelfs stoeltjes en een toilettent! Lim als gids gaf ons de nodige uitleg en toonde ons hoe we veilig sommige zware stukken konden doen. Hij houdt rekening met je tempo en is voorzichtig. Super praktisch is ook dat Jou je transport kan regelen voor en na de trekking. Zo konden wij meteen na de trek naar Gili Air. De trek zelf is zwaar en een voorbereiding is aan te raden, maar zo'n mooie ervaring. De trekking doen met Jou Trekking kunnen we dus echt alleen maar aanraden.

Wat een geweldige ervaring

Jou trekking levert top en vriendelijke service. Alles is tot in de puntjes geregeld, het eten is meer dan voldoende (wij hebben dit nooit opgekregen), waarna het met de apen gedeeld wordt. De tent, matjes en slaapzakken zijn prima en de porters zorgen ervoor dat alles schoon is en lekker ruikt. Verder zijn ze zeer milieubewust (in tegenstelling tot sommige andere organisaties). Alle rommel wordt opgeruimd en ze lopen zelfs nog met een vuilniszak rond om rommel van anderen op te ruimen. Top ervaring gehad met een altijd vriendelijke gids. Het is een fysieke uitdaging om nooit te vergeten.
