Skip the Line: Liverpool Beatles Museum - The perfect tribute to the Beatles

Overpriced ,poor exhibits!

Paid £17 each for entry into the museum,I found some of the exhibits to be very poor and lacking any provenance ,if I were to place an honest value to the tour I would consider between £6 to £8 as a fair price ,felt utterly robbed!

Good to see, but busy!

There’s so much to take in at the Beatles Museum and you could spend hours there. Unfortunately, it was very busy, so you feel like you’re being moved along too quickly and are trying to see around other people. We went mid-morning. Perhaps going even earlier would have been better.

Fantastic Museum

Fantastic little museum for all Beatles fans, loads of memorabilia and personal items items from the fab four, would highly recommend.

Loved it

Very nice place with lots of memorabilia of the rise of the Beatles until the demise of the band. The flow through the exhibits were well organized well marked. Overall a wonderful experience.

Worth a look

The museum is good, however the Beatles Storey is far better. Not as much to see. Some good items of interest.

Liverpool Beatles Museum.

Very good variety of memorabilia. Information was good. Enjoyed it a lot. The audio guide was great adjunct to the displays.

Surprises, fond memories.

New information about the Fab Four's roots, candid shots, triggered many fond memories of their music and presence in the world. Especially liked the India section. My wife and I both took up Transcendental Meditation in the early/mid 70s partly because of the publicity of the Beatles in Rishikesh.

The exhibition brought back memories of the past. Many items jogged long forgotten 60s and 70s. Great stuff

Great museum. Learnt alot about The Beatles and their origins. Highly recommend to all Beatles fans.

Money for old rope

I had been to a different museum on the docks years ago . I thought it was same but moved . I think the tour in Mathew's Street is for die hard supporters it had many photos 📸

A thorough Beatles history for die-hard fans

An almost overwhelming experience due to all the details on display about the fab four's career. A must visit for fans really into Beatles, but can be a bit overwhelming for the casual fan. But an impressive collection of Beatles items, especially from the years of their formation as young Liverpudlians.

Excellent museum - worth a visit

Audio guide is a must. Very well set out with some great artefacts and history. I would highly recommend this as a place to visit when in Liverpool

Bit of a let down.

I thought the place was shabby & not well set out. Didn’t get a buzz walking around the museum, but tacky and I don’t think I learnt anything I didn’t already knew.

Very disappointing!

We visited The Beatles Museum in Mathew Street as part of the Ultimate Beatles package. What a disappointment! If we hadn't have known it by the time we went around the short exhibition we realized that this was more a Pete Best Museum. There were no real Beatles memorabilia, more artefacts belonging to Pete Best. (You will actually be very lucky if you can spot a photo of Ringo Starr anywhere) Admittedly this exhibition, owned by the Best family, pays homage to the brief period that Pete was a member of the Fab Four but does little to paint a picture which would make it worthy of the title Beatles Museum. At 17 pounds per person this is a very expensive dip into a very short time in The Beatles early career and you would be far better off spending your money on the magnificent Beatles Story at The Albert Docks which tells the whole story in great detail with fabulous Beatles memorabilia.

A little underwhelming

A little underwhelmed with this museum. Feel it could have been so much better. It looks very dated and needs bringing up to date with more factual knowledge.

Audio your worth the price

SO many pieces of Beatles history on display – overwhelming. The audio tour was good. I just wasn’t aware there would be steps.

A Beatles fan delight.

If you are a true Beatles fan, (who isn't) you should see this museum. Amazing items on display from Beatles history, right in the heart of Liverpool. I could describe what's there but you should see it for yourself. Enjoy.

Expertly curated Beatles museum.

I visited this museum located across the street from the Cavern Club in November 2023 and was blown away by the artifacts on display here. As a jaded Beatles fan who thought he had seen it all, I found plenty of things to discover (like the original sign for the Casbah or a staggering collection of comic book covers featuring the Fabs) making this museum the best of its kind in Liverpool or anywhere else. Highly recommended. I only had an hour to spend there but if I were you I would budget my time to allow for 2 hours because there’s quite a bit to really take in.

Stunning collection of Beatles memorabilia.

This museum is excellent with a possibly unrivalled collection, especially of early Beatles and individual band member's memorabilia, arranged very nicely over several floors of a typical Liverpool townhouse in iconic Matthew street. It even includes the super rare film of the early performance of the Beatles pre Ringo. The commentary is superb. One word of warning - this museum is really for the Beatles aficionado and there are many other more accessible exhibitions in Liverpool.

Well worth a good chunk of the morning.

The guidance says to allow ‘1-2 hours’. We spent two hours there, fascinating stuff, well laid out, covering a good timespan. I could have gone back and re-done some if it, had we not had other plans. My only gripe is that the labels are a bit amateur; poor punctuation really stands out to some of us. This review is linked to the 'skip the line' somehow, and I can't adjust it. We didn't do Skip, we booked direct. A bit annoying that I couldn't see anywhere on the website what age 'concession' applied, so whether that included us.

Best Beatles Museum

Absolutely brilliant. Lots of exhibits which are very interesting. Good value for money. Even got my non interested partner interested. Friendly staff and very helpful. 100% would go again.

Really good place to visit!

Really good museum. Very informative and gives you a good history to the Beatles. The audio is really good and gives you a lot of information.

A Must See Beatles Museum

If you only do one Beatles museum in Liverpool City Centre - do this one. The Beatles Story is good, especially if you don’t know too much already, but the Liverpool Beatles Museum is the real deal. Owned by Roag Best, who is the brother of original Beatles drummer Pete and the son of Neil Aspinall, the Apple Corps head honcho, and before that a roadie, van driver , and without doubt part of the Beatles’ inner circle. The stuff on display is unique. Most things are original, and a hell of a lot things I didn’t even know existed. I was in there for over two hours, everything was worth poring over. It’s an absolute gem, and priceless for Beatles fans. I wouldn’t bother with the audio guide, but otherwise I can’t fault it. A Beatles Must see!

Should please any Beatles fan

Visited from the U.S. on our 40th anniversary. Incredibly large collection of memorabilia, well presented in chronological order. Great cap to all of the other Beatles related things in Liverpool.

Music Education

Nice museum self guided tour works out well. The museums halls and rooms are alittle tight however people seemed to move through ok. I gave five star because I took my brother here he loves Beatles and really enjoyed himself.

We went to the wrong museum at first had a problem finding Matthew street but once we did we enjoyed it also went into the cavern

Enjoyable but not a fan so obviously didn’t find it as interesting as a fan would. Had a coffee in the cafe at the end of the tour which was nice.

Superb museum

The Beatles museum is fantastic. You can learn all about the band, so it's not just for fans, but lovers of music in general.

Disappointed

I had such high expectations before going to this but unfortunately I was let down. First of all, the rooms on display are very small and you will find it hard to move around. Secondly, the staff at the gift shop were quite rude to us. I was waiting a while for someone to scan my tickets even though I was standing right in front of them. Lastly, don't buy any gifts from the shop as they are overpriced compared to other Beatles stores and they have very little items to sell compared to the rather brilliant 'The Beatles - Story' near George's Dock.

Learning more about their early years. Seeing the items they used or bought for others. Wondering if Mona was inspiration for Lady Madonna or if the revolver on the keyring ring for first van was inspiration for heir album Revolver. I am here know and havent seen it all yet and I am in awe.

More of an impressive walkthrough than a fantastic experience

Lots of memoribilia and items, but to compare it to other music musea in Liverpool it does not organize and attract you that much. There is no narrator on an individual headphone and the text on the side of the items is from time to time too long. The museum trip is more of a walkthrough than an experience.

Great Beatles experience

The museum was well worth the visit! We took a train from York so didn’t arrive until 1130 but had plenty of time to see it all. We took the walking tour after since we arrived late would of been better to do walk at 1000 then museum since learned great info on walking tour to enhance the museum.

Nostalgia, music and more happy memories.

For starters I was with my 19 year old grandaughter, who's idea the trip was. We spent around two hours a the museum and if it hadn't been so hot we might have managed more. Some of the band's history was new to me and and quite fascinating. Also its a great place to meet people from all over the world. I spent about 5 minutes chatting with an American couple and a minute or two with a German. There was a lot foot tapping and singalongs going on. Only drawback for me was the amount of stair climbing, and too few toilets but there were places to sit and rest. All in all a great visit and well worth it.

A must see collection of rare Beatle items

Tremendous museum a must for any Beatles fan,lots of personal items which belonged to the Beatles and the Best family,well laid out with appropriate music and commentary playing in the background,made me feel quite emotional I felt a connection to the Best family,it's set over 3 floors quite a climb but well worth it ,id recommend having the audio tour device it's only a £1 easy to work and very lightweight,it made up for the awful experience we had at the other Beatles museum which is now akin to a theme park type experience chocked full of people and unruly teenagers dreadful,id recommend going onto the Cavern which is almost next door to complete the Beatles experience.I have to comment on the review ive just read saying they did it in 20 minutes and it's basically rubbish , deeply insulting to a great exhibition of Beatles artifacts , please anybody who reads that review,ignore it completely,it's a small collection of rare items well presented,I feel enriched having seen them

Very interesting and learnt more. I wondered who Stuart was as heard of everyone else, but soon found out. Also of who actually helped get the beatles up and running.

Great museum in a great location right next to the cavern club, it really makes you feel like your walking through music history.

Amazing visit to the Beatles Museum

Amazing history and detail. Thoroughly enjoyable and highly recommended. Allow plenty of time to read all the artefacts.

Not worth it

If you are interested in seeing loads of photos of the Beatles mixed in with some random items (like a pen or a guitar similar to the ones around at that time) then this museum is for you. But we where very disappointed in it. Feels like they have put a collection together just to capture people on Mathew street. We also paid £1 more for the audio guides which we gave up on because they went on for ages. I would not recommend it. We where through the 3 floors in about 20mins. It definately could be doing with being updated, having more interactive things and better layed out than box frames on the wall with loads of photos and a plaque with a bit of info. Didn’t even really take any photograph and I take them everywhere

Informative and well worth a visit

This was an interactive museum tour. Covers the whole career of the band and their following careers after the band split. Loads of exhibits from the whole history of the band. If you are interested in the Beatles this is a must visit in their home city

We didn’t know what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised by the museum. Really done well and lots of fun information. Highly recommend this tour.

Great wee place

Loved this museum. What makes it stand out from the rest is the detailed info about the early days with Pete Best & Stu Sutcliffe. Great to find out a bit more about their time in the band. Would defo recommend a visit while you're in the city.

The Most Immersive Beatle Experience In The World...

This is one of the greatest, most Immersive Beatle experiences you will ever encounter, you will get to experience the whole Beatlemania experience from its creation, up through its meteoric rise, creating the face of music as we know it today, including some of the bands treasured items, from John Lennon’s personal pen knife that he carved his name into the Casbah Coffee Club wall and ceiling (Mona wasn't too happy with that & took it from him), the recording equipment from The Star Club in Germany that was used to create the record of The Beatles, to the actual pen owned by Brian Epstein the Beatles used to sign their contract, to The Egg Chair that was owned by John Lennon and loads of other One of a kind of Beatle memorabilia, including Records, Tapes, the short lived Apple Records Store Items, Guitars, Candlestick Park Concert Memorabilia , up through the Rooftop Of Apple Records and other pieces both commercially & personally owned that you will not find anywhere else in the world... This is without a doubt one of the greatest museums you will ever find and it is constantly growing as we speak...

Expected more…

Let me just say firstly that I am a HUGE Beatles fan. Went with my wife & grown up kids, all fans of the Beatles, to this museum, which EVERYONE says is AMAZING!!! It isn’t. It’s ok. Lots of info & photos you can find on the web, split into 3 floors, pretty much following the ‘3 phases’ of the Beatles story. Some original items which was nice, but we were in and our in about 30mins. And that was for £60 (concessions). The receptionist was a nice guy, but looked bored our of his brain. Suggest they should freshen it up a bit. AND reduce the prices to a £5 a pop. Glad I went, but DISSAPPOINTED.

One of the Highlights of our trip to England

Discovering new and different information about the best band that ever lived! I have been a Beatlemaniac since seeing them on TV in 1964! I have read countless books about them and still managed to learn more about them from this trip! The museum was wonderful! I loved the timelines, magazine articles, telegrams, letters, pictures and clothing I had not seen before.Truly, one of the highlights of our trip to England!
