A day in Chester

We had a wonderful tour with Gerry {Busy Bus Tours} to Chester from Liverpool. Gerry was very knowledgeable about all the history in Chester as well as on the trip from Liverpool. He did a walking tour with us on arriving in Chester pointing out the more interesting sites and telling us the history before giving us some time to explore things on our own. He was very accommodating to a disabled person on a scooter making sure she could see all she wanted to. Later, back in Liverpool, he was kind enough to drop me off at the post office so I could post my cards. Thank you, Gerry for a wonderful day!

A fun and relaxing day in Chester

We had an excellent time with Adrian our driver/guide and our time in Chester. The mini-bus was very comfortable and all 14 passengers had room to sit and spread out if needed. Adrian gave us lots of information on our drive from Liverpool to Chester and we could all hear him clearly as he used a headset microphone. Once in Chester, we had about a 1 hour walking tour and Adrian took us to the Roman Garden, the coliseum, and then we walked part of the old Roman City walls. After our walking tour was over, we had 2.5 hrs to explore the city on our own. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Chester and I highly recommend Busy Bus.

Cancelled with no notice

The tour was canceled with no notice. We were given a longer tour for no extra cost BUT I had wanted to do other things in Liverpool Ironically the only other comment was about a cancelled tour. Is this a pattern? What is “operational difficulties?”

Unable to share our story as we were totally let down. We were advised the night before our trip was cancelled. Lucky we checked our emails that evening or we would have been standing looking for the driver for hours. No time to look for another tour. Thanks a lot Viator.

They didn’t show up

Busybus canceled at the last minute. I have seen other reviews that say the same thing. They were rude and couldn’t understand why I was upset waiting at the terminal (with others who were in the same position) with nothing to do

Do not book with Busybus for this tour- they will cancel while you are on the cruise

I pre paid for this excursion, only to go to the pick up point at the correct time. Along with others, we were initially told the bus would be there, and then told the excursion was canceled. They are not to be trusted. If you book with them, expect to be left without any place to go, and no time to make other plans. They didn’t even automatically refund, you had to email them to receive a refund. It is shameful that they would do this to people from a different country, and leave them with nothing

Let down big time.

Booked this shore excursion months ahead, but less than a day before our trip we were informed by email the tour would not take place. When I rang up to ask reason why I was met by a very abrupt / discourteous employee. A vehicle off the road was mentioned but a firm that size, even if every other vehicle was in use that day, could easily borrow or hire another vehicle for the day (even minibuses) so as not to let their customers down. More likely there were not enough passengers to make the trip worthwhile. Given the short notice, they left us with no time to book an alternative therefore wrecking a precious day of our holiday. So if you want peace of mind that your excursion will take place DO NOT book Busybus.
