Liverpool: 50-Minute Mersey River Cruise

Fun trip but need better sound system

Was fun and glad we took the trip but it was quite a chilly day and was not a lot to see on the cruise. We initially sat outside and when it got too cold, came inside but still could not hear what the guide was saying.

Easy booking and it was a wonderful cruise with good description of the sights of Liverpool . Would highly recommend.

Historic Ferry Crossing

This should be on everyone's bucket list, a river cruise on the Mersey - arguably Britain's most famous river. There's loads to see and there's an audio commentary playing over the speakers.

we love to go on the ferry whenever we go to Liverpool it is a 50 min tour of the Mersey with commentary of the trade of the ships coming into Liverpool in the years gone by you can sit and relax with a coffee we sat inside this time as it was a bit windy but still enjoyable

TOTAL RIP OFF ...PERPETUATING THE LIVERPOOL TRADITION

This is a TOTAL RIP OFF. This only reinforces the world stereotypical view of Liverpuddlians....they will rip you off....and they still do. This is a 10 minute journey from Liverpool to Seacombe. My wife used to go with her father as a child. A commuter journey, forever. It costs £3.80 return for a commuter ticket but you can only travel directly before 0930 or after 1700 Outside of those hours they add 10 minutes to the journey and call it the River Explorer £12.75. They "sail" in an arc for 5 Minutes on the way to Seacombe and there is nothing to see. This is the most blatant rip off that I have come across for a long time. There is virtually nothing to see in the additional 5 minutes journey time. I have been on Thames river cruises in London, interesting, informative and amusing...worth every penny and cheaper than this charade. Do not waste your money....unless you like to feel that you have been conned TOTAL RIP OFF

Great idea for a trip to Liverpool

It's really great value. The view of the waterfront from on the ship is well worth the trip. The audio commentary is also very helpful plenty of new things learned!

Great time spent on the Mersey!

A great start to a Liverpool day adventure

Great fun, and very friendly crew. We took my parents (84 and 85), who really enjoyed the experience. The commentary was so interesting and it was a great start to our Liverpool adventure. We parked at the Seacombe dock, Birkenhead, and took the early ferry, and came back on the late afternoon ferry after a brilliant day.

Nice boat trip.

It was a nice boat trip. I think it's something you should do if you want some good information and nice pictures of the three Grace's etc.

Was a nice way to see everything. Very refreshing staff were great. We missed our time slot with another activity running on but they just put us on the next one

Very nice trip in the river. The ship is in great conditons. We loved the view from there. Very close to the Liverpool centre.

This is a MUST ! See the city from the river ! Worth the money. Great guide on board. Friendly staff. Drink/ food available.

Great tour, yeah yeah yeah!

Tony was a wonderful tour guide, with one or two interesting facts of his own. David, our driver , was very skilled, safety conscious and polite. Great tour altogether. Loved the waybTony played appropos Beatle songs as we neared certain homes and sites. Tony is ver humorous as well as knowledgeable.

Highly recommend Liverpool

Fantastic commentary really enjoyed it same about the weather would recommend, Liverpool itself is absolutely amazing.

A worthy day out to LIverpool

The most memorable part of this trip was the history of Liverpool. The evolution of the city was well narrated and informative . Well done and thanks . Also the tour of the township and shopping area was impressive . I would definitely return for shopping day trips in the future. Ingrid from Manchester.

Pleasant, informative trip

Having been to many places, home and abroad, quite often these trips are oversold, overpriced and can be a waste of your day. Thankfully, this experience had none of these elements. Me and my partner enjoyed a trip with you guys during our visit to Liverpool. Your staff were friendly, welcoming and there was no hard upsell behaviour that you get in different places from different experiences. We were left to enjoy the trip at our own pace, with your staff there on hand to help if needs be. What more can you ask for?

The cruise was fun, exciting and informative. It was my Birthday treat. Will recommend it to anyone looking to have fun with friends.

Great commentary

A really good commentary giving the history of Liverpool, it docks and its trade. there is no better way to see it than from the water and I wish it had lasted longer.

Bad weather makes less than ideal trip

It was a very rainy and blustery day when I took the boat ride. I sat on the wrong side of the boat and everything they said was about the side I couldn’t see. The boat was rocking so hard that walking to the other side was treacherous. Just a tip- sit on the starboard side of the boat.

Really Enjoyed the Trip

We went midday on a Saturday in May and not too busy. Very pleasant the commentary was good. We sat outside and could still hear it clearly. Excellent value for money and worth doing.

Was a great experience as a whole, and lucky enough to have the weather on side as well. Good detail in what you were looking at and refreshments on board.

Fun Weekend in Liverpool

We loved ferrying across the Mersey as part of our weekend in Liverpool and the only downside was we couldn’t hear the commentary because of the noise of others on the boat who were not interested in it.

We booked this lovely home as we as doing a tour of Anfield stadium our tour was at 11am and Paula let us park the car at the house and we got a Uber to the stadium the taxi cost £8.90 after the tour we got in a taxi to the pier to do a river boat cruise that taxi from stadium to the pier was £10 we then walked to Matthew street at some tea in the Cavan restaurant highly recommend it do it was lovely. We then got a taxi from near there and it was £20 bk to the house. The house is lovely my kids loved the garden our boys are 7 and 8 and found a football in the garden which made there day 🤣 The tele is a smart tele we could log in to Netflix no problem. There’s a shop literally just down the road and just round the corner took 2 mins to walk it sold everything you might need. There’s a pub you walk past aswell we didn’t go in but looked ok. The house has everything you need highly recommend if you don’t want to stop in the city centre.

Mersey River cruise

We really enjoyed the river cruise. Tour guide gave us lots of information on what we could see. It brought back childhood memories from when I use to go across the mersey for days out. Go if you get the chance

Good but could be better

We enjoyed the trip but there were long gaps in the commentary and no information about many of the sights (eg Wallasey Town Hall among others) - I remember the commentary being a lot more informative in the past. Interesting (but not unexpected) to note that there was no mention of the loss of World Heritage status in 2021 due to the really ugly new buildings and the very mixed blessing of cruise ships.

Mersey Cruise

We loved going on the Mersey cruise. It was interesting to hear what we were passing on the shore. Only disappointment was the Pacemaker’s song should have been played in its entirety not just a short part of it.

Don't waste your money

Went at the weekend and would not recommend this to anyone. No seating for everyone, people sitting on the floor. packed in like sardines, small children couldn't see anything as row's of people all around the boat

A must do in Liverpool

The weather happened to be amazing sunny about 22 degrees. Good information while sailing - had a good seat too

Very interesting and enjoyable tour. Some of best views of city of Liverpool from the water. Excellent commentary picking out highlights of both shores. Just the right length of time also.

Ferry across the Mersy

Excellent cruise of the River Mersey, weather was good and plenty of ship traffic to photograph. Plenty of photographs of stunning buildings to take along Merseyside.

Magical

We booked the crossing for us to be able to scatter my late Mum's ashes. It was a beautiful sunny (but cold!) morning and the whole experience was magical. We advised the staff when we boarded about the scattering, and about halfway through the journey they slow the boat right down and direct you to an area of the rear of the boat where we were able to scatter the ashes into the river. We then returned to the indoor area of boat to enjoy the remainder of the cruise. Thank you to everyone involved for helping us to make this happen

Mersey River is a must!

Enjoyable ride on the Mersey. Unfortunately, my husband & I couldn't hear most of what was said over the loud speakers. While you can't control the weather, it was cold & windy!

Really enjoyed tha "dazzle ship" tour. Best views of Liverpool and Wirral. The ferry tour also filled me in with the fascinating history of a former GREAT CITY of the Empire

Great way to see the Liverpool waterfront.

This is a very well organised and informative trip. The trip down and up the Mersey gives you a wonderful view of the waterfront buildings and the layout of this amazing and vibrant Port City. The information over the ships tannoy is very good and deals with the history of the Docks and the regeneration. You definitely need a clear and dry day as it gets rather breezy on the open decks. There is adequate seating inside if required. The Ferry leaves on the hour, but I would suggest you get your ticket and place in the queue 30 minutes earlier, it’s a very popular and good value tour. We did the excellent Hop on Hop off Bus tours this Ferry trip is the icing on the cake.

Great sights, very informative tourist commentary. Also great value for money. My little boy loved his trip ok the Mersey ferry. He loved every detail of the ferry and exploring inside and outside and watching the views and the waves. We will definitely return
