Fun rapids, amazing wildlife and scenery! Guides were informative and professional. Breakfast and lunch was yummy and efficient.

Wonderful experience

Everything went as planned. The guides were exceptional. Roberto was a life saver and made it a once in a lifetime experience. Would recommend him to everyone. He was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Good with teenagers and older people alike.

Do it!

This was my husbands and I favorite excursion during our stay in Costa Rica. The entire staff is extremely friendly and the entire event is well organized. Well worth the 2 hour drive from Puerto Viejo

Excellent tour!

We had an excellent time. Our day started a little rocky, because the bus left us at the pick-up location, but they were able to give us instructions on where we needed to be. It was a 2.5 hour drive, but we made in it time. The river is excellent for white water rafting, the guides are friendly and very knowledgeable. I would recommend this tour.

Fun, but a long day.

The whitewater and scenery were absolutely amazing! They even provided us with delicious breakfast and lunch, which was a great bonus. I also appreciated the outdoor showers and spacious changing rooms for those who didn't want to leave all wet. It was long trip, but fun. We left at 6 am and returned to our hotel at 5:30 pm.

So much fun!

I will start with our guide on the river, Andres (Anthony, when he is in trouble) was the funniest, most amazing guide. He gets a 10 star and hopefully a pay raise. From the pickup point, breakfast, rafting, and lunch were all above average. Andres was amazing, kept us save and gave excellent instruction. We laughed at his jokes (especially the mother in law ) all the way down the river. Unforgettable trip.

Stop looking… just do it!!!

My wife and I where picked up from the hotel exactly on time. Eduardo our river guide introduced himself and our driver Carlos. Things never got off track for a second. The drive to the rafting center, breakfast at the center, lunch at the center after the rafting everything was perfect. There were some pretty intense/fun rapids. Eduardo’s instructions and raft management inspired confidence and a sense of enormous fun the entire time!!!

Beautiful Adventure - Best for in between stops on a trip. Long drive from Puerto Viejo

Eduardo is an incredible guide. This is actually booked through a local Costa Rican agency. The drive from Puerto Viejo is almost 3 hours, so I recommend booking this trip in between travel from one place to another. Best whitewater rafting - waterfalls, swimming and more.

The best experience in a packing two weeks of excursions

We spent two weeks travelling around Costa Rica and loved every second. This experience was the highlight and the must do for anyone visiting. The organisation and management by the team was excellent. The focus on safety everything you'd expect and again excellent. The fun of the rafting was awesome. But really..... the view of the rainforest travelling down the river is quite simply jaw dropping and something you would never see if you stick to the roads

Once in a lifetime views

We had Eduardo as our guide, and he was awesome! He was a really nice guy who made us feel really confident when we were on the water. We saw some of the most amazing views I've ever seen. It was like something out of Jurassic park. We saw waterfalls, canyons, toucans, indigenous huts, etc... The breakfast and lunch provided was delicious, and definitely hearty portions. The pictures we bought are amazing, and definitely worth it. On the way back, Eduardo spotted some sloths and the bus driver was nice enough to pull over so everybody could get out and take a look. I would definitely put this high on my list of the coolest things I've ever done.

Family time!

We had a great time! Our tour guide and river guide were very knowledgeable and entertaining! I highly recommend this excursion!

Perfect for all levels of fitness

This was my second time on this tour. This time we had three other friends that were a little leery as to the activity level. They were very impressed with it not being too strenuous yet very exciting. The views are breathtaking. The breakfast and lunch we’re very large portions and excellent food. Our personal belongings were very secure, and the facilities to change were clean.

Beautiful memories

We had a fantastic time. The Pacuare river was beautiful. Andres and Edwardo were wonderful. They were patient and knowledgeable. We would recommend the trip to anyone who wants to have a good time while making some awesome memories.

Experience of lifetime

The most memorable part of this experience was the WHOLE thing. This was me and my fiance 1st time white water rafting & now we cant wait to do it again.The breakfast and lunch option we had was Yummy! They use a salsa called "Lizano Salsa" & I haven't stopped thinking about it since. Our guide Michael was great, he talked us thru everything, even when my fiance slipped off the raft, everybody was there to grab him & pull him back onto the raft. We all laughed so hard after the fact. I would definently go back during peak season. GO! you won't regret it.

Don't miss it!

Fantastic, so much fun, had a great guide, excitement all the way, you get soaking wet and happy. We`ll do it again next time we visit Costa Rica 😄

Nice team, very good organization. Perfect timing as agreed, good organized, good food. Only downside March is probably not the best period to go when the water is at many places to low. For the rest A+ Thanks.

Exciting white water rafting

Beautiful scenery. Shallow water time of year. Guide was knowledgeable. Felt safe. Wear sunscreen on arms and legs, or a Long sleeved swim shirt. Spent 3.5 hours on the river. Lunch was fresh and delicious foods. Can buy a USB with pictures of the experience for $30.

Safe, exciting, beautiful and amazing river rafting

The river was beautiful with great rapids and waterfalls. Very serene and a couple of great spots to jump in for a short swim before the next set of rapids. Andres was our raft guide and you could tell he was very experienced in navigating through this river. I felt very nervous to do this tour because I’ve had friends who’ve tried it elsewhere and got hurt but after 5 mins on this raft, I was having the time of my life! Definitely recommend this activity and hope you get Andres. Thank you for making my bday memorable

Amazing day!

White water rafting down the Paquares river was so much fun! Eduardo was a wonderful lead and created a fun. Interesting, and chill 3 hours. The bus rides were comfortable and the food was delicious traditional costa rican food. The photos were really well done...across the board this experience was amazing and unforgettable.

Great fun

This was so much fun! It was the perfect balance of adrenaline pumping rapids and calmer waters. The views are also incredible. Our guide, "Johndeer", was so friendly and really looked after us, he made sure we knew exactly what we had to do as we approached the rapids and was very knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna that we came across.

Awesome rafting experience and great service

As my first rafting experience I was lucky to have Rio Pacuare to begin with. The 4 hour raft takes you through incredible rainforest and gorges and the many rapids are fun and exciting. The guides are among the kindest and most fun to be on the water with. The whole day was full of fun, jokes and splashing, I had an amazing time. On top of it a special shoutout to the incredible service and kindness of Exploradores Outdoors. Afterwards I forgot to take my drying shoes and clothes and they took the effort to ship them to my next destination the day after, something I am incredibly grateful for.

Lots of Fun!!

We had a great time. It was definitely worth it, the company picked us up at Selina in Puerto viejo and dropped us in San Jose afterwards. Lunch and breakfast was also very good. Our guide was a lot of fun and was very experienced. Would definitely recommend, especially to break up a travel day (San Jose, Puerto Viejo and La Fortuna)

Best Excursion

OMG! My first time doing this & it won’t be my last. It is my far the best excursion I ever done. Wish my daughter was older so I could take her. Thank you Edwardo our guide. His skills made this risky sport much easier & more pleasant.

Amazing Adventure

Wow! This was a trip of a lifetime. White water rafting was an amazing adrenaline rush. Our guide Eduardo was very knowledgeable and skilled. Not once did I feel unsafe. I felt like I was in a movie. We are so glad we did this, the value is incredible. Food, adventure, sights, fun, all in the same trip!

We took this trip about 1/2 way through our 2 week trip in Costa Rica. It was a way to see more of the country that you wouldn't see otherwise and we had a great time in the process. The river was beyond our expectations. So very beautiful. Our guide, Andreas, was amazing. You could tell that he was very knowledgeable of the area and very passionate and experienced at what he was doing. The banter between the guides was a lot of fun too. Everyone had a great time!

Amazing! Great for onward transportation!!

They run a fantastic operation! From pick-up at hotel to the food to the experience on the river — it was awesome! It’s a workout but the guides were kind, helpful, and supportive. We had such a great time.

Great rafting, but also a lot of driving

We had a really good time doing the White water Rafting at Pacuare River. The environment is stunning and our Guide (Roy) was great and had a lot of experience. But it was a lot of driving (~ 2 Hours from Puerto Viejo to the breakfast Location and after that another 45 minutes Minuten of driving to get to the starting Point at the River). We got picked up at 6.30 am and came back at 5 pm. So in total it was almost 5 Hours of driving and 5 Hours of Rafting, breakfast and Lunch. We still think it was worth it though!

A MUST Do!!

The company picked us up from our lodge and took us to their center. The ride from Puerto Viejo to the center is about three hours. Once we got to the center they fed us breakfast and drove us about another 40 minutes up to the starting point at the river. Our guide Taz was amazing very knowledgeable super experienced and made the ride a lot of fun. Lots of rapids and the scenery is so beautiful it’s unexplainable! After the trip they feed you a great lunch back at their center before you board your bus for another three hours back to Puerto Viejo. Highly recommend!! We were a group of seven 113 year old a couple 50 year olds and a couple 70 year olds everyone was able to do it with no problem!

Best way to see the natural beauty of Costa Rican!

Our guide Andres was amazing and very entertaining. This was our first ever time going white water rafting and I think we picked the best one. The Pacuare River is a perfect mix of rapids and floating along with excitement and adventure and topped off with breathtaking scenery. You can’t go wrong with this trip and I feel is a must do for Costa Rica.

Fun day on the Pacuare!

I've been whitewater rafting several times in the US, but this was the most fun and exciting rafting trip to date. Our raft guide was Andres and he was so energetic, supportive and fun. He was also with us on the shuttle to and from our meeting point and made sure to point out many cool things along the way. During the rafting part he made sure we were well prepared and provided us with a few exciting surprises along the way. There were a lot of people participating, about 85, so kind of crowded for breakfast and lunch plus with so many people to manage some of the other guides were sometimes a little pushy to keep the day on schedule. It was much longer than I expected, 6 hrs from the time you arrive at the base camp until you return to it, not 6 hrs from hotel pickup to dropoff...but that was a very pleasant surprise as it allowed for 3-4 hrs on the river. We got to exit the rafts a few times for swimming, and the overall views were amazing. Make sure you wear sunscreen, didn't need any bug spray. Highly recommend, we are already looking for another rafting trip during our stay in La Fortuna.

We had a great experience and it was definitely worth the money! Giovanni und the other guide Esteban took great care of the group and prepared some nice lunch at a beautiful spot. I can highly recommend!

Rafting

The actual rafting was awesome. Great guide, big rapids and beautiful scenery. The transportation to/from the rafting site made me nervous as many participants and even one guide were not wearing masks. The food was ok.

Incredible Rafting Experience!

We loved our day out of the rafts! We travelled down the most beautiful river, there was so much to see and was exhilarating too. Our guide Fernando was informative, kind and fun! I loved everything about this and would recommend to any thrill seekers!

We had a fantastic day on the rapids in Costa Rica! All the reviews said it's one of the best places to do it in the world and I can see why! Was 30km of pure joy, excitement and nature!! Tico's River Adventures

Roberto at Tico's River Adventures has been in his family business since 1985. Every part of this experience was wonderful and the price was right at $80 per person for a 4 hour trip down the river on level 3 and 4 rapids. Our guide Fabio could not have been better. He was professional, fun, clear when he needed to be and made us feel safe while at the same time gave us some of the most exciting rafting that we have ever had. This river is unbelievably beautiful and clean with nature all around. I would go back and do this again in a second!

Amazing experience!

If you have the opportunity to do this tour do not let it pass, the landscapes are beautiful, undoubtedly very fun, the instructors very patient and professional, they take care of you all the time and they are guiding you all the way to rafting. It was our first time and we would definitely do it again, we hope to return soon. Pura vida!.

Much effort , little pleasure

At 6:00 am departure, 5:00 pm return. The tour lasted 3 hours. The rest of the time driving and waiting. The crew was ok

Rafting Rio pacuare

Con 53 años y 57 mi esposo hicimos esta excursión maravillosa. Desde que nos recogieron del hotel ( fuimos con valijas grandes) hasta que nos dejaron en Arenal todo salió de manera impecable. El guía Eduardo daba las indicaciones tanto en Ingles como en español, nos hizo sentir seguros. El equipaje queda perfectamente guardado, son 4horas de contacto pleno con la naturaleza. Inolvidable. La única contra es que no tienen cambio en dolares ( raro en Costa Rica) y no pude comprar la foto, nada barata (30 dólares) pero me hubiera gustado tenerla. Solo con el dinero justo se podía abonar. Pero todo lo demás excelente, lo volvería hacer con pernocté en lodge de la zona.

Una experiencia imperdible en Costa Rica.

Fue una maravillosa experiencia, en todos los aspectos, el servicio y explicación fueron muy claros y sobre todo el recorrido, las vistas, la vegetación, los sonidos y los rápidos y en general toda la aventura fue genial, mi esposa y yo lo disfrutamos al máximo.
