This is an excellent excursion to do while on a cruise! The canal boat ride was very neat and our tour guides; Rosa and the driver (I didn’t catch his name) were great! We got to see cool areas in Costa Rica and saw sloths, bats, raccoons, and monkeys! We were back in port with plenty of time to spare.

An unforgettable and knowledgeable tour with awesome local tour guides.

An incredible and unforgettable hike through Cahuita National Park and ride on the Tortuguero Canal with the most knowledgeable guide, namely, Ms. Sinclair, and the most patient driver, Alex. Ms. Sinclair was able to let us see all sorts of animals and plants because she could spot them. We saw sloths with babies, herons, caymans, etc. thanks to her knowledge. The driver, Alex, was also excellent and patient. He stopped us at the Limon Cathedral so we could take pictures inside and then stopped us on our way back at Playa Bonita so that “Rich,” that is Ms. Sinclair could take pictures of us at the beach and stop at a hotel restaurant to have some typical Caribbean smoothies. Both should be promoted.

A Very Enjoyable and Memorable Tour

The travel agent (SyL Travel) is conveniently located right in the port, 3 minutes walk away from our cruise ship. This is our first visit to both destinations. We experienced rich biodiversity, unique plants and animals and changeable whether of the country during our tour. Risheyin (guide) and Hubeth (driver) did an excellent job to make our tour a very enjoyable and memorable one. We would highly recommend this tour and SyL Travel.

Private Tour from Puerto Limon (Book SyL Travel!)

Five stars! Booked a private tour for my family and we had a great time with our guide, Sergio--he was waiting for us at the pier when we got off the ship and we quickly got on our way. First stop was the Tortuguero Canals and we really enjoyed the private boat ride and saw a lot of wildlife. We made a quick stop at a plantation before heading to Cahuita National Park and enjoyed a wonderful walk and time at the beach. Booking over email with Enrique was quick and easy. Sergio and our driver were fantastic and the van was very comfortable. Great value as well--private tour allowed us to control how long we spent at each spot and when we got back to the ship. Highly recommend SyL Travel!

Best Time EVER!

We had an AMAZING DAY on a boat ride at Tartuguera Canal and in Cahuita national park with our awesome tour guide Risheilyn and driver Gigi. They made sure that we got to see many animals. They were very friendly and informative. We got to taste local fruit. Our tour guide took beautiful pictures for us. We had to get back on the ship early and they made sure that we got back in time. If you love the jungle, animals, exploring and having fun, this excursion is for you! This was a great tour, I would definitely do it again!

This tour was awesome! Marco and the driver were perfect - super enthusiastic and helpful. They made us comfortable and made everything fun and wonderful. We got up close to a sloth, saw monkeys, a snake, raccoons, and tons of birds. Everything was just as we expected and it was a great day. Marco was perfect!

Amazing Experience!

We had an amazing morning with Tony the Tiger. Despite the rain he was able to show us a bunch of indigenous animals and explained everything with so much knowledge. He knew so much about each and every creature we saw, including the plants and trees. On top of that he englisch was extremely good and he carried around a professional telescope to give us a better look at some of the animals. Would definitely recommend this company. Their guides are all experts in the field of biology and are licensed as well (Other “guides”, who contact you on the street, are not actually licensed, only have minor knowledge of the area and in the national park end up following real guides to find the animals)

Amazing guide and trip!

Our guide was amazing! Hike was a highlight of entire trip. Canal, we didn't have an English speaker so missed a lot. Everything else was amazing and would do it again!

Enrique was Amazing! Costa Rica is a very special place

Enrique was the most incredible kind and attentive guide. He was so kind to my children and answered every question they had (and there were a lot 😁) our day with him was filled with amazing and incredible sights, a wealth of information and delicious local cuisine. What a treat to spend time in such a gorgeous place and to have such a special guide like Enrique. Our driver who’s name I have forgotten was such a great driver, we felt safe all the time.

Awesome tour!

Larry and GG were the absolute best! They were very knowledgeable and immersed us in the local culture! Fantastic trip! Would highly recommend this tour! We couldn’t have been happier with our guided and the boat captain who saw absolutely everything!

A memorable tour

We went on the six in one tour offered by Syl Travel on 2/2/2020. The driver’s name is Mario and the guide’s name is Ramon (I am not sure but it can be checked out). We started with Canal Cruise the captain was knowledgeable to point out the hidden animals and fowls. At that time, nine in the morning, we were the only one in the canal so he took his time going back and forth to make sure everyone in the boat had the best view. We saw monkeys, sloths, iguanas, caymans, and various water fowls. We then stopped at a souvenir shop to taste banana, coffee and nuts. It was not high pressure sales and Ramon took time to show us the plants around the shop. I learned a lot from him. After that we went to Cahuita Park, again Ramon patiently showed us the plants and animals along the trail. The highlight was a white face monkey right next to the trail at eye level. We had a wonderful time even with down pour of rain at the end of our walk.

We had a great experience with our guide, Ron Lobo. He took us to the Cahuita National Park and educated us on the wildlife and botanicals of the area on the way. He was very knowledgeable and helped us have a wonderful day. We appreciated how he took the time to teach us about the banana plantations, the different plants, and several types of wildlife, in addition to general information about Costa Rican life.

Expérience unique et inoubliable

Notre guide Risheylin nous attendait près de la sortie du bateau, sous la tente rouge, avec une affiche à notre nom donc ce fût très facile de la trouver. Notre chauffeur Gigi était très sympathique et drôle. Nous avons pu observer des paresseux, singes, oiseaux, papillons bleus, ratons laveurs, caïman grâce à nos guides expérimentés. Nous avons aussi déguster des bananes cultivées sur place. Le Costa Rica est très riche en faune et en flore, c'est magnifique !

Walk between nature and the beach. Encountered many specimens of many species of animals. The monkeys entertained us with their funny poses and the sea was splendid!

Half-day tour through Cahuita National Park

We had a spontaneously arranged tour in Cahuita National Park with Tony ("The Tiger") as our guide. We had a wonderful time and Tony took a lot of time to spot animals and gave interesting information about the park and its forest. The highlight was seeing a two-toed sloth with its baby in a low tree on the beach. We will remember both the park and Tony.

Perfekter Tag in Costa Rica

Der Service war perfekt, wir wurden direkt vom Schiff pünktlich abgeholt und auch wieder zurück gebracht. Der Guide und Fahrer waren sehr freundlich und kompetent. Es gab nichts zu meckern. Ein perfekter Tag in Costa Rica.

Absolut klasse

Unser Tourguide Vanessa holte uns direkt vom Kreuzfahrtschiff ab am Hafen, sie spricht super Englisch und ist nett und lustig. Wir sind mit einem klimatisierten Fahrzeug erst ein wenig durch die Stadt gefahren und danach an den Kanal/Fluss, während der Fahrt hat man was erklärt bekommen von der Stadt. Die Tour auf dem Boot war sehr interessant auch der Bootsführer sprach gutes Englisch und man hat jede Menge Tiere und Pflanzen gesehen und erklärt bekommen. Auf dem Weg zum Nationalpark haben wir an einer kleinen Plantage gehalten , dort haben wir viel erfahren über Bananen, Kakao und andere nützliche Pflanzen. Die Tour im Nationalpark war klasse, auch hier bekam man viel erklärt und er ist direkt am Meer.

Geen plastic in het park

Heel spijtig dat niet duidelijk vermeld stond dat je geen plastic mocht meenemen naar binnen. Een plastic zakje met sandwiches voor onderweg op te eten voor een wandeling van 4u moesten we gewoon in de vuilbak gooien. Moesten we dit op voorhand geweten hebben, hadden we ons voorzien.
