Clear Kayak Tour at Punta Uva

Wonderful walkabout and paddle in kayaks

We had a great 3 hours with Esteban walking around the Punta Uva peninsula. Take good walking shoes so you can cover the ground - saw Sloths, huge iguanas, monkeys, amazing birds and butterflies. The kayaking was very easy to do at a gentle pace up the mangrove swamps and rivers. We took 2 x double kayaks to accommodate the family. Great fun - highly recommend.

We had a wonderful time! We got to see sloths, monkeys, turtles and birds! Stefan our guide was funny and knowledgeable and made sure we were safe at all times! The ocean was a bit too wavy so the second half of the tour was a little hike to a viewpoint that was absolutely gorgeous. The tour takes about 2-3 hours which left us the afternoon to spend at the beach at Punta Uva before heading back! Highly recommend!!

Fantastic kayak tour with an expert guide

We had an incredible kayak tour with Rob, and everything about the experience was seamless from start to finish. The meeting point was easy to find and Rob welcomed us warmly upon arrival. The tour took us from the ocean into a beautiful river, giving us a diverse and scenic paddling experience. Rob was not only kind and approachable but also highly knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna. He spotted a variety of wildlife along the way, which made the tour even more memorable. I highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to explore the region from a unique perspective!

Our guide Rob was very friendly and knowledgeable. He showed us all the beautiful sights and told about the history and animals. I definitely recommend this trip when you visit! You will not be disappointed! Ask for Rob if he is available.

Great morning activity

This was a great excursion. Esteban was the perfect combination of knowledgeable and friendly. We had one other couple whom we hadn’t met before and it was so fun being with them. The ocean portion was challenging in a good way. River was nice and easy. Saw fish, birds, sloths, monkeys, turtles. Highly recommend especially with Esteban

Beautiful river

We enjoyed the scenic river, but some things were not great. The trip started out into the sea, which was pretty rough at the time. I guess on a calm day, you would be able to see a reef, but certainly not that day. Our guide, Estoban, did not lead, but followed during that part, and since we didn’t know where to go, it was a bit unnerving. The Uva River, though, was lovely, and we loved listening to the different forest sounds. All in all a nice time.

Enlightening and informative

This experience was worth the trip! Amazing conversation with our tour guide who was very knowledgeable and informative. She knew a lot about the fauna and flora which made the trip through the jungle, very enlightening. I highly recommend this tour 👍🏾👍🏾

Great relaxing outdoor experience

We had the nicest time. Lynch, our guide, is incredibly kind, pleasant and patient. It was so much fun and a real highlight for our time spent on the Caribbean side.

Fantastic tour!

The tour guide did an outstanding job. I was the only person signed up at this time, so essentially I got a private tour. He was so friendly, knowledgable, and really went above and beyond to make sure I got my money's worth. He even took me on a little hike afterwards to see more wildlife, great views on the water, and learn more about some of the local plant's and culture. I saw more sloth on this one tour than I did the rest of the week in Costa Rica! Highly recommend!

Amazing experience!

Such an amazing experience! We saw multiple sloths and turtles along the way. The tide was too high to do kayaking in the ocean so we only did it in the river. Our guide Yari was able to tell us a lot about the animals and the Costa Rican culture in the Caribean side of the country.

Epic adventure with a passionate guide and lots to see!

Lynch was an awesome host for this experience! It seemed like we were kayaking with a close friend. We got to see so many sloths and so much wildlife! Crabs, turtles, monkeys, and all kinds of birds. He was very knowledgeable and respectful. Explained everything and filled the tour with a lot of facts as we cruised down the river. So many photo opportunities of the wildlife! We highly recommend booking this experience if you're a beginner or a pro because he has a great eye at spotting things and has great knowledge of the history of the place you're visiting.

A must adventure at Punta Uva!

Lynch was an amazing guide! Not only did he show us many animals and sights, he tells great stories about the region and draws you into his perspective on so many things! Highlight of the trip was seeing 3 species of monkey on one trip. And watching some spider monkeys try to hold their ground against advancing capuchin monkeys! They put on a real show for us!

Alex was a great guide!

When I arrived I was immediately greeted and Alex, my guide provided a safe place for my belongings and had a dry bag for my phone so I could take pictures. We left a few minutes early which was nice. The views and water were very beautiful when we headed out in the ocean to see the reef. When we went to the river Alex was on the look out for monkeys, sloths, turtles and birds. He educated me on the wildlife and I had a great experience! Highly recommend, great experience and workout!

Great easy way to see wildlife and learn about the area.

The clear kayak trip was a nice way to see lots of sloths, spider monkeys, turtles, lizards and learn about the area. Our guide was very friendly and informative. The river was slow and relaxing. We enjoyed this adventure on our vacation.

Great Kayak Tour!

Our guide, Esteban, was excellent. His knowledge of Costa Rican history and wildlife was top notch. If you're listening, you leave with knowledge you never had before. Even after the kayak part of the tour is over, you have an option to do a small hike and learn more.

Wonderful tour!

Amazing experience, Alex our guide was wonderful and very knowledgable. We went out to the ocean and saw some reefs and then kayaked up the river and Alex pointed out tons of wildlife (sloths, cayman, turtles, hawks) that we would have missed with out him! Highly recommend!!!

Everything we hoped for and more!

The Kayak tour was the perfect mix of serenity, information and fun paddling. Alex followed our lead with pacing, and was constantly on the lookout for wildlife to point out to us, and we saw everything on our list! (including a cool Basilisk Lizard we didn't even know we always wanted to see!) He even took pictures for us so we had images of us in our kayak on the beautiful river. Then Alex took us on a beautiful (short) hike through the forest to an amazing overlook for photos and more stunning views, again telling us all about the plants and history of the area. Meet up was easy, everything was ready for us, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience.

The best part of my trip to the Caribbean

The trip was magical. For some time we were all alone only surranded by jungle and animals. We saw parrots, monk, sloths and maaaany turtles. Even if the weather was not perfect it was great experience.

Magical experience

Esteban was great! Funny, calm, and quiet when we were in the river. Allowed us to enjoy the sounds of the wildlife. Always looking to point things out to us. We couldn’t get to the reef as it was too choppy, so Esteban hiked with us along the point!

Was a nice tour and we learned a lot about the animals and plants of Costa Rica and also saw some animals. Motivated tour guide with a lot of knowledge.

Fun Tour with Friendly Guide

We had fun during this tour. Kayaked through the jungle with my partner. The Guide told a lot about the animals and the surroundings. The kayak is easy to drive. The river was not far, but was full of impressive animals such as lizards, iguanas, howler monkeys, turtles, ducks, crabs and sloths. The Guide is patient and helpful and takes the time to answer your questions. Also cozy! Unfortunately, the sea was too rough to kayak there. With the Guide we therefore went for a walk to a beautiful place to view the view. We were kindly received and the car we could park easily. Later in the morning there are fewer spots available. Definitely recommended to go early in the morning. Then it is not so crowded and you are usually the only one in the river.
