Kyoto: Arashiyama Bamboo, Temple, Matcha, Monkeys & secret spots

If you have limited time in Kyoto, I'd devote half a day to this again in a heartbeat.

Where to begin? A great host, who taught us so much and was happy to answer our many questions. A great group, there were only three of us on the tour that day, so it was pretty darn private. It was also a quieter day in Arashiyama, so that was a perk we couldn't have planned for. The big highlights for me were seeing the bamboo forest, going beyond the the forest into a secluded garden, and climbing up to Monkey Park which was difficult in the moment but super rewarding at the top. Thanks for the great tour, Art! (I'm assuming it's time call you that, since we're now friends)

Beautiful day, great company

We really appreciate the excellent communication and staff at this tour company. Arashiyama is beautiful and this tour covers all the highlights. Our wonderful tour guide, Art, gave us an appreciation of the history as we walked through the bamboo forest, wandered through a tranquil garden, and visited a temple. Seeing the monkeys at the end of the day was our favorite part of this tour. The park has a good set up that allows you to go into a house that has a cage for windows that you can safely feed the monkeys through. The monkeys take the treats gently. Then you can go back outside to wander freely with the monkeys.

Excellent and Informative Kyoto Tour

My wife and I really enjoyed our Kyoto: Arashiyama Bamboo, Temple, Matcha, Monkeys & Secrets tour. Agustin was an excellent tour guide and he shared his extensive knowledge with us throughout the day as we explored the Bamboo forest, the Okochi Sanso Garden, the Tenryuji Temple and the Monkey Park. He gave us great recommendations for food to sample during the tour and even took the time to ensure that we got on the right train at the end of the tour so that we could continue our adventure in Kyoto.

A beautiful place to explore and visit monkeys

Arashiyama is beautiful and this tour covers all the highlights. Our wonderful tour guide, Art, gave us an appreciation of the history as we walked through the bamboo forest, wandered through a tranquil garden, and visited a temple. We enjoyed free time on our own in town. Seeing the monkeys at the end of the day was our favorite part of this tour. Magical rain in the bamboo fkrest

Mr. Toru (sp?) was our guide and he was fantastic. It was pouring down rain and he took us to all of the beautiful places. He was kind, funny, and knowledge. The rain made it kind of magical! 100% recommend!

Remi was a fantastic guide! Extremely knowledgeable about Japanese culture, language and history. Took us to all the best secret spots that only locals know, and kept us entertained with humor and personal stories of his life after moving to Japan. Also gave us great recommendations for shops, restaurants and activities in Kyoto. We wouldn’t have had the same experience without him!

Remy was an awesome tour guide ! He was very informative and took his time explaining the significance of all the stops we went to. I’d highly recommend going on a tour with him as it would have been incredibly overwhelming to navigate all the spots solo! Top experience of the trip!

Bamboo and monkeys

I loved our tour with Todi ( I can’t remember how to spell his name sorry) He was very friendly and took his time to answer all our questions. He was extremely knowledgeable about our surroundings and places that he took us too. This trip is worth it ☺️

Remi is Awesome

We had an amazing time. Remi’s route for our tour made sure we avoided so much of the crowds! He provided us with history and information we didn’t know we needed to know too. He walked at a pace we could maintain and provided us with plenty of time at each of the stops. Highly recommend this tour!

Fabulous day for families

This was a fabulous tour. All the sites we saw were amazing and well worth seeing. Aryo was a great guide and provided a great balance between I formation and history and free to time to explore and immerse in the beauty of Arishiyama. Our kids (8 and 12) LOVED the monkey park. It was well worth the climb up the hill. A really big and full day but well worth it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Colors of Kyoto and Arashiyama

Enjoyed the colours of Kyoto / Arashiyama. added a couple of extra spots to extend the tour as a private one and was amazed by the sheer grandeur of Higashi Honganji and Fushimi Inari.

Highly recommended

Our visit to Arashiyama with Remi was perfect. The place was beautiful, the visit was perfectly planned, and Remi was extremely nice and patient with us. He gave us great recommendations about where to eat or buy stuff, and explained every detail of the places we visited. We are so happy that we chose to explore Arashiyama this way.

Great adventure for adults and kids

Guide Remi was fantastic! He answered all our questions (my 12 year old grandson had many). The pace was good even though it was a very hot day.

A great experience in Arashiyama

It was a wonderful experience in Arashiyama. We had fun and we were lucky with the weather. Aryo was a great guide ! Going to the monkey park could be a challenge because of the slope. Bamboo woods and garden were great. I loved so much people wearing yukatas.

Amazing tour with a great guide

The tour includes a lot of attractions: the bamboo forest, an amazing garden, a beautiful temple and the monkey park. The guide was very friendly and showed us a lot of secret locations to get the taste of Kyoto.

A nice way to experience some of Kyotos beautiful Nature

We went for Arashiyama walking tour with tempel and monkeypark and had a very nice experience. We (age 17-47) were very happy for our to guides Remi and Ario. Remi and Ario gave us an experience we would not have had without guidance. They guidede us through the most beautiful bamboo forest, tempel and gardens. All was very magical because of the gentle rain and few People. They gave us usefull educational and historical facts and guided us through some delicious tasting experience with japanees spices and sweets. We allso went for a small 20 minuts hike up to a beautiful hill to the monkeypark. We loved feeding the monkeys and watch them play. We definitely renommed this experience and absolute recommend it with Remi and Ario, Booth very helpfull and nice guides😊 In the end they gave us a surprice, a hidden gem that was a perfect final to a perfect day.

Wonderful Kyoto Tour

Spectacular day in Kyoto!!!

This day was a gem in our Kyoto experience! Remi was a truly one of a kind tour guide who was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful & fun to be around. He took amazing photos for us, gave amazing suggestions & was prepared for anything! The bamboo forest, beautiful gardens & monkey experience were all incredible & since our tour ended up being a private tour for my husband and I (due to pending bad weather cancellations) he even went the extra mile & took us to the golden pavilion which I so desperately wanted to see before we left Kyoto that afternoon! I cannot begin to thank Remi enough for giving us a spectacular day in Kyoto we will cherish forever! Highly recommend Remi & Japan Tour Adventure!!!!

Arashiyama Discovering

We had the chance to be guided by Rémi the french manager of Japan’s Adventure company who was very professional and friendly. He knew many things about Arashiyama and Japanese culture… the walking trip enabled us to discover things far from usual tourist trips. Several stops : Bamboo forest, beautiful property in forest with sightseeing, food market and free monkeys on top of an hill who can be fed and close observed … a nice half day walking trip …

The Best of Arashiyama!

Charles "Benny" was a great tour guide - he was super informative about the region and had genuine enthusiasm for the area. We were able to see everything we wanted to in a short amount of time without the tour feeling rushed. He even made sure we got back to the city safely :). Highly recommend this tour and guide!! EXCEPTIONAL - best guide in JAPAN

We had the chance to spend this day with Rémi from Japan Tour. The visit was absolutely incredible, every anecdote and story was perfectly told and completely appropriate for my children who were fascinated. Rémi even helped us book our return Shinkansen. And gave us lots of advice. We are far from the level of other agencies and guides with whom we dealt during our stay. I recommend ++++++
