Krabi Horse Riding at Ao Nam Mao Beach

Not really worth the Money. Horses tortured.

We are ambivalent. The riding itself is quite nice. We had booked the beach and the jungle. Both fell short of our expectations in terms of the scenery. The horses seemed tired and tortured. At the beginning there was one horse too few. Our guide was constantly smoking weed. You should think carefully about whether it's worth the money.

Must do experience!

Booked onto the sunset ride and BBQ a few weeks ago and it exceeded expectations in every way. The staff are so friendly, and the horses are well cared for. Highly recommend the BBQ too (chicken, shrimp, octopus, pork, fish, and THE BEST pad Thai I've had so far). Mena and the team went above and beyond to deliver a truly unforgettable experience.

It’s a nice experience to ride on the beach

You go all along Ao Nam Beach with the horses. The horses are super brave and sweet (also if you have no experience). If you have more experience, you can also canter. If you don’t want, the crew is there to take care of you and the horse. The guides are really friendly and creative to make nice photos.

Fantastic riding in a stunning location

A fantastic gem! Stunning setting, lovely people and perfect riding! My daughter and I rode just the two of us with one guide. The stables are very near to the beach and horses very well kept. A very professional set-up and visitors are seperated into riding ability. We galloped along a deserted beach, rode into the countryside which was stunning and back along the beach to the water. A real must and highlight of the trip.

Where do I begin… Short Summary: Absolutely a must do activity! It was absolutely amazing. It’s a small locally ran business and you can tell the staff is like family. This was an amazing experience that I will never forget. More details: For me, the care of the horses is very important and 100% these horses are very well cared for. They were well groomed and feed. Secondly, the trail was so gorgeous! It was absolutely amazing to be able to see the beach and suburban life of Thailand. You go into a small town outside of Krabi and that was great to see. And lastly, the guides were great!!! They speak very little English but that wasn’t an issue. They were very friendly and helpful. I am a more experienced rider and my best friend is a beginner. The guide was able to accommodate both of our riding experiences. I was allowed to run with my horse! And my friend was able to stroll with her horse. The guides also are willing to take pictures and video of you which was very much appreciated. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great time. And I would recommend the two hours excursion. One hour will leave you wanting more.

Beautiful experience

I loved my 1 hour session with Krabi horse riding, the horses seemed well looked after and the staff there were lovely! I was the only one on our session, so I got to canter along the beach with the guide which was amazing! I think one hour is more than enough if you haven’t been riding in a while, as ached a lot the next day !

An exceptional experience! The horses were happy and healthy, and the owner was awesome. We took the horses out along the beach and it was perfect. We were experienced so they allowed us to gallop the horses along the shore. I wouldn’t change a thing and would highly recommend!

Unique experience, but with your own risk

I visited the stable with my 11 y daughter, who is a good rider. Me -a first timer. The pick up from our Ao Nang hotel was precise and took some 15 min drive to the site, which appeared to be a bit shaggy, but functional place. We were given horses and asked to saddle up, but no advice about the route, safety instruction nor equipment. I needed to ask for a helmet separately for my girl. Which they did have plenty, though. There were three riders in our group (Hi Jennifer if you are reading) and a guide, who spoke little english. He held my horse most of the way as I was the only first timer. The beach was close by the stable and is really beatiful! We walked by the beach the whole time, sometimes in the water even knee-deep, so be prepared to get your shoes wet. On our way back, there was an insident, as something startled the horses. My horse took a jump up and turned suddenly some 90 degrees, causing me to fall down. Unfortunate for me, there was a cut tree in the waterline causing me bleeding scratches and a good bruise on the ribs (none broken presumably). In additional to bloody shirt, fall also caused my phone to break and wet my wallet. Luckily my daughter managed to stay on saddle, even her horse did similar manouvers as mine (Wakanda forever! -as Jennifer nailed it afterwards). The staff were sorry and upset about the incident and told me that this should never happen. No medical assistance was offered though, like disinfecting the wounds or visit to a clinic to check the bump on my side, Just a ride back to hotel. Without the unfourtunate fall, this would been a 4* trip and with little extra effort from the management, this could be a 5* unique experience as the beach is really beautiful. Recommend, but at your own risk.

Wonderful Memory

Great horse riding experience along the beach. Perhaps our booking was in the evening, hence the sunset and cool weather were in perfect combination for a wonderful experience. Guides were very hospitable.

The wonderful experience

Swimming with the horse, , Riding at the beach also at the sunset, going for the countryside. Biginner or experienced is no different. The horses looks amazing, is in good shape and are good for any rider. This is the perfect place to come and join the nature on a horse if you want to do something exclusive with your time in Krabi. For 2 months i came to Krabi Horseriding many times and I had such an amazing time there.

Hosts really love their horses, the horses are in very good shape and looks free and happy. Stunning beach view. Polite staff. Have donated money for the horses’ food and medication use.

The tour operator/viator...

<p>The tour operator/viator communications clearly broke down as we had to chase this up and only after 1 hour after the scheduled pick-up did some last minute arranged transport turn up. The folks running the horse riding at Ao Nam Mao Beach do not speak any English contrary to the advertisement which was a bit of an issue. Also check on the high-tides as our trip did not end-up on the beach due to the high-tide.<br/> All in all a bit of disappointment.</p>

Birthday ride

Fantastically beautiful environment. Kind people and the horses seem to be doing well! However, it was very hot when we rode. Certainly much nicer with an afternoon ride

Hade nog högre förväntningar. Fina hästar, mysigt att rida längs stranden. 1 timme räcker, vi tog två timmar men det var för länge.. Välskötta hästar.

Had a super fun and relaxing trip along the beach, in the water and through a piece of beautiful nature. Very sweet horses so you can relax and enjoy.

早上去的，整个沙滩都是我的，哈哈，拍出来的照片很漂亮 建议工作人员做一点简单的培训就好了 还有虽然我最后不回去酒店，如果可以把我送去别的地方就更好了，而不是直接送我到坐船的地方，哈哈 不过我看了别人的点评说马儿被什么东西刺激到了，然后摔了，也没有保险，所以我骑在马上不敢动，哈哈

Wauw!

De mensen waren hartstikke behulpzaam! Ondanks dat ze ons 20 minuten later ophaalde dan gepland, hebben we een top rit gehad! Het was een mooie ervaring! De eigenaars zorgen goed voor de paarden, ondanks de warmte, hadden ze genoeg plekjes in de schaduw, in stallen maar ook in de weides! Het ligt aan het strand waardoor je zoo kunt struinen door het zand!
