Athirappilly & Vazhachal Waterfalls Private Day Tour from Kochi

A breathtaking amazingly loved experience

We went to Athirapally and the whole experience was all new to us but the tour guider and the agency made ua feel so amazing and the waterfall view was literally breathtaking. The tour guider took really good care of us and he explained us everything clearly. We were picked up from our hotel 30 min prior to departure and they were really punctual and amazing people. The whole tour was so amazing and we enjoyed and loved every bit of it. ❤️ Highly recommend!!

Do it yourself and save time and money

This was a very poorly executed trip. Either the driver had no idea what our itinerary was or it was a good act. We were promised: 1. A mid size car … it was tiny. 2. Tickets included … we had to pay for them ourselves. This was only 200 rupees per person. 3. Bottled water … had to buy our own. 4. Lunch at 4 star hotel … driver offered for us to get out and buy some lunch from a roadside stall … we got our lunch as promised after complaining and significant delays. This was at Casa Rio and food was good and would have cost around 6 euros each. 5. Vazhachal Falls - driver was 20 minutes on way home when we realised that he was going the wrong way so we made him turn around. This probably added 2 hours to the trip. We had to complain loudly about paying for a trip and not getting what was supposed to be included. The boss said he would refund us our out of pocket costs but haven’t heard boo from him. He has had 48 hours to respond and hasn’t so my review is scathing (and deserves to be). The day took close to 8 hours … there is no way they can do it in 6 hours unless you don’t go to the bottom of the Athirappilly Falls. This is a really expensive way to see the waterfalls. Highly recommend either hiring your own driver or getting an Uber and set your own itinerary and lunch destination. We paid 124 euros when the whole trip could have been done for 40 euros and saved us a lot of aggravation. Don’t book this trip!!

Book elsewhere

The waterfalls were really beautiful, but this tour itself is not something we would recommend. The driver didn’t speak much English, so it was not a guided tour as he couldn’t say much about the places we visited. He sat in the car while we went to see the waterfalls. The ticket to get in the park costs 200 rupees per person, so we think this tour can be done much cheaper, if you hire a cab instead. We did not get any water or private guide as promised in the tour description. Even though Indians honk a lot, the driver honked so much you couldn’t go 30 seconds without him honking to the radio music or to nothing at all. It also took 2-3 hours longer than we were told. All in all a disappointing tour.

An inspiring day

A nice trip if you enjoy nature and beautiful vibes. Casa rio is a beautiful place to have lunch. Get prepared if you are visiting during rains season.

A well organised day trip to the waterfalls.

A nice and well organised tour to the waterfalls. I was picked up and dropped off at hotel. During the whole trip a guide was on my side, who provided some insights and took care of entrance admission and provided water as refreshment.

Never using Viator again

To start with I would just like to clear that the driver and the trip was good however on reaching I found out that Viator has charged me the double the amount it was worth. From my starting point the place was 45 kms and back to the drop point it will come to 90 to 95 kms max. The price should have been a max of INR 3000 but I was charged INR 6200 for the trip. The whole thing was spoilt due to the same. I trusted viator to give me a response fare as I have used them in past when I was travelling in Europe. Terrible experience with the same. Never again will I use viator.i have checked the other packages as well in case a service is a car or house boat where they charge for two people in one price incase booked directly viator is charging that same amount per person!!!!. Never again will I use viator and I know I have wasted a good 3500 INR but it was a lesson well learnt.

Nice day trip

We really enjoyed this trip. Our driver was very friendly and arrived early to pick us up. We mostly walked around on our own but he always provided clear instructions on where to go and arranged the tickets for us. The waterfalls were beautiful, and we saw some small Indian monkeys on the walk to the largest ones. The lunch was very tasty

Waterfalls

My driver was very pleasant and attentive. The waterfalls were nice to look at. The monkeys were cute however don’t eat anything around them as they will swipe it. I guess I was not expecting the drive to be so long, however it was nice to see the the different Indian landscape of forest and jungle. Also be aware if you have a camera they charge extra for entry On the way back I was taken to a gift shop, I was very tired, after a long day of travel, I felt obligated to buy something which irritated me at 1st however I ended up buying a wooden elephant which I really like and it fitted into my suitcase, so it all ended well. This tour was ok, I think the long drive was just to long and I felt I wasted my day in a car when I had limited time so that’s my fault.

Great service

The waterfalls were lovely to look at, and the journey up through the forest was very pretty. The company had no problem adjusting the itinerary to suit our rather tight time frame. Car was comfortable and had a/c, very important, and we were supplied with cold water to drink. Can't comment on the meal as we eliminated that from our schedule. Recommended.

Beautiful waterfall, long day in the car

The waterfalls are very nice! the car drive from Kochi tourist Island is long. The food was good! and people friendly. I am not sad we did it but after travelling for so many weeks already the drive was a bit much. We were unlucky the driver forgot the water promised and we had to convince the restaurant that we already paid a lot for the meal, which was awkward. Fyi; the meal costs substantially less if not taken in the package.

Thanks for the tour! was very nice. Especially the lunch was great at Resort. The chauffeur who provided was very friendly and driving was very comfort. This time we just visited kerala just for two days, definitely will come again in the future for a week to cover other destinations too.

Waterfalls and Lunch

We were picked up at the hotel in Cochi by Mr.Shibu and taken on the 2 hour drive towards the lush environment of the Athirappilly and Vazhachal waterfalls. There are a couple of decent lookout points for the falls to take in the views and photos. The sounds of the rushing water helps you embrace the nature of the surrounds. You will likely come across a cute monkey or two as well. We had lunch at the Samroha Resort which serves Kerali and other cuisine, with stunning views of the waterfalls from the balcony, while the staff were courteous and well serving. Then Mr.Shibu drove us back to the hotel in Cochi. I'd recommend this trip for a laid back day adventure while staying in Cochi.

A wonderful nature experience

A trip that is absolutely worth it. If it is hot outside, you should take your time for the descent and ascent. Then everyone can do it.
