What a great afternoon! J was a great instructor- really friendly, really helpful, and obviously really knowledgeable. Would highly recommend giving this a go!

It’s harder than it looks but so pleased we did we gave it a go!

Perfect weather conditions for our group of three older adults to try this activity for the first time, calm water, good equipment, small friendly group, and the added bonus of fabulous views of surrounding fells. Steve was very friendly, encouraging, professional and reassuring, seemed to give everyone the support they needed to get the best out of the session. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and hope to come again to build up our confidence.

Amazing Stand Up Paddleboarding Session

Fantastic SUP session on Derwentwater with Stephen, who is a great teacher and very patient. Quality equipment and excellent instructions for complete beginners. Loved this.

Paddleboard experience

Our two daughters took part in a paddleboard session and absolutely loved it, would highly recommend especially for those new or those with limited paddleboard experience. Steve was a great instructor!!! Thank you very much!!!

Excellent Paddle Board Taster Session

We did the Paddle Board taster with Steve and he was excellent with us. He was very patient and made it easier than I thought it would be. Booking process was simple and text updates before the session were great

Great for a beginner!

I was a paddleboard newbie and wanted to try it. I booked in and went out on Derwent with Phil. Loved every minute of it. I learnt the different skills required to paddle board quickly and gained confidence from a competent instructor. I learnt some valuable techniques and safety tips. Spot on, would fully recommend.

Learn something about Keswick, its history, and the local ecosystem by taking a paddle out with Woody.

Woody brought the gear and guided us through a really fun paddle experience on Derwent Water. With hurricane Agnes slowly making her way to the Lake District, Woody guided us out onto the water. The winds picked up by the end of the outing, but Woody had engineered our trajectory such that we were blown back to our starting point by the gently increasing breeze.

Best day out just do it

We took seven family members ages from 12 to 66 and had the best afternoon the most fun it was just a great laugh and everyone said what a day. I’m the granddad so it was a bit knackering for me but I’m glad I did just disappointed I couldn’t stand up my hip was giving me jip Best laugh ever and extremely safe with instructor Peter. By the way it was extremely good value and the scenery to die for.

Great instruction to timid 1st timers

From the start, the professionalism of the instructor was very reassuring. By the end I was happy to make my own way to the various small islands in Derwent Water. By reminding us of various hazards and mitigation strategies I was comfortable navigating amongst the other lake users and confident I was being overseen by an expert ready to intervene if necessary but encouraging independence. Wonderful experience. Highly recommended.

Paddle boarding

I had the most amazing session paddle boarding with Pete. Pete made everyone feel super comfortable and ensured we all knew what we were doing before entering the water. He explained everything thoroughly and helped us all along the way. Not only was he a great instructor, he was so knowledgeable about the whole area. Not only did I have an incredible morning paddle boarding, I learnt about the local area too.

Great few hours for 4 of us on Derwent Water. Pete was an informative, helpful & fun instructor. Wetsuits & paddle boards provided were very good & we would recommend to family & friends.

This was my 2nd time paddle boarding on beautiful Derwentwater with Mobile Adventure. Tuition, quality of equipment and location were all excellent. A full 2 hours, good value and great fun!

Thinking about paddle boarding, do this session

Excellent introduction to paddle boarding and I would strongly suggest doing something like this for your first time on a paddle board, as it’s harder than it looks! The instructor, Jay, was excellent and the 2 hours flew by!

Fantastic

We had a fabulous time paddle boarding. J was our instructor and was so informative and entertaining. I had paddle boarded before and his advice and tips for improving were great. The rest of my family hadn't and he was really great for all levels of experience. I highly recommend it and will definitely be back.

The paddle boarding taster session with J was absolutely brilliant. He was an excellent instructor and made it a really fun experience. I had been paddle boarding before but his instruction was really helpful for me to improve but the rest of my family hadn’t and he was so helpful to all levels of skill. I would highly recommend it and will definitely be going again. Thank you!

Great experience from start to finish. Our instructor J made us feel at ease as we had never done paddleboarding before. The weather was kind to us and the views from the water were amazing. Would definitely recommend it and would book again.

A fabulous experience.

A thoroughly enjoyable experience, loved by all the members of our group. The equipment was excellent and we felt safe and motivated for the whole time. Well! What can I say about Jay, our instructor. He's the best. Learned the names of every single course member in the first 5 minutes! His instruction was perfect, his encouragement fabulous, his humour infectious. The safety of everyone was obviously paramount to him and yet he made it so much fun. First class group leader. Amazing experience!

amazing experience! been wanting to do paddle boarding for a while and finally got the chance to do it at Derwent Water, Lake District. The duration was perfect, 2 hours. not too short and not too long. really good and friendly instructor, clear direction on how to navigate. rest it was trial and error. after a couple of (un)graceful falls in the water, managed to stand up and paddle around. had another family in the group with two little ones sitting in the front of board, is family friendly. loved it, and will be taking this up as a regular hobby :)

Great paddleboarding experience

We had a great couple of hours paddleboarding on Derwentwater with Pete. We had done paddleboarding before so we had a quick 'how to' reminder before heading off into the lake for a paddle round near the shore for a while and then heading off further to go around one of the islands. Great fun and a sense of achievement when we got stood up on the boards. Really enjoyed the session. Pete was really friendly and helpful when we needed rescuing from the edge ot help getting back on the board after coming off!

A great guided tour of Derwent water

Pete, our SUP guide had a great balance between safety and adventure. Me and my daughter took a two hour guided paddle board trip on Derwent water. We are both novices. The day was warm with quite a stiff breeze at times. We set off towards one of the islands. Emily found it hard to paddle against the breeze. Pete towed her to calmer water. We thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and paddled in placed We wouldn't have without an instructor. A great experience

I totally loved this. First time trying to paddle board and I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful location. Pete was a great instructor and looked after us well, explaining everything and making it all fun and relaxed

A must do activity if you’re visiting Keswick

A great fun adventure. John was an excellent and responsible guide. It’s so peaceful and exhilarating at the same time to be out in the middle of the lake. The weather wasn’t the best, but it really doesn’t matter. Great value for money and will definitely do it again when we next visit the lakes. Highly recommend for people of all ages (I’m 67).

Fun, fantastic scenery - and a few spills! Go for it

The paddle boarding lessons I had on Derwentwater were absolutely fantastic. Great instructor (Phil) and all the kit - board, wetsuit, life jacket - was super. Parked at Keswick theatre then a short walk to the lake. I booked on two successive days and I can't wait to go back. It was such fun - first just learning to stand up (yes, there were a lot of sploshes and much laughter), then trying to navigate the ripples caused by the wind, and the swell as the boats went by (more sploshes). Who knew there was so much to paddleboarding! I'm hooked. Wonderful views - what a glorious place to paddleboard. Highly recommend Mobile Adventures.

A fantastic experience!

Enthusiastic, safe guidance from a super instructor - thanks Phil! This was the highlight of our two teenage girls holiday in the Lakes. They loved their time on the water and the level of challenge and support was excellent. Highly recommend.

Great experience. Well worth the money and fabulous surroundings.

My instructor Phil was very knowledgeable and friendly. He put me at ease straight away with his open and approachable teaching style. After several dunkings in Derwentwater, Phil made some small adjustments to my instruction, and I was soon able to stand upright on the board and paddle on both sides. Having never before been on a SUP, I considered this a major achievement. All in all, my experience was excellent, and I got to paddle around Derwent Island and House in the company of a great teacher on what turned out to be a 'one to one' lesson.

The Paddle Boarding on Derwent Water was excellent. It was both really goof value for money and really accessible for both my children (9yrs and 15yrs). I cannot praise the instructor enough who was both encouraging when my youngest was struggling but also challenged my daughter as she found the activity quite easy. I would strongly recommend this activity and Woody our instructor!

Paddle boarding success

Adult and kids thoroughly enjoyed their experience of paddle boarding with Adam. It was smiles all round, none of them had tried it before but they soon picked it up and were standing and on their way. Adam threw in a few games and an enjoyable afternoon was had by all.

Great experience and loved being able to go from Crow Park. Very chilled and the instructor was great. Will definitely book again.

Taster paddleboard session

Initially getting on the board! Paddling out to the island at the start was great fun. Learning how to steer and reverse was really helpful. Woody was really patient even with an older participant like me. I managed to stand up it was staying standing that proved to be the issue. It was all great fun, it something I wanted to try for a while and this session has certainly given me the confidence to have another go. Having photos at end is nice to have too. It was definitely worth it.

SUP Taster session

Had the most fantastic SUP session with John last week. Once in our wetsuits and life jackets on The session started with info about the board. We were soon in the water and was given advice and tips how to turn, brake, managing the board, standing ect ect This was all really helpful and far more than I had expected, . John was supportive and encouraging throughout the session. A brilliant afternoon and for the price of £25 for 2 hour taster session thought it was brilliant.

Fun paddle boarding, even for the oldies.

As an older couple (60+) we were a bit nervous, but it is was great, J ensured we were kitted out and made sure we stayed safe. While we did more falling off than standing up, J was patient with us and helped us back on the board when required. We enjoyed a paddle around Derwent Island, J made the session fun and interesting. An experience we will remember, why not give it a go.

Fantastic experience

Great instructor and a great 2 hours paddling, thoroughly enjoyed it! The lesson is quite informal and once you get used to the board you can stay with the group or paddle off a little. Be ready to fall in!!!!

Giggles on-board

Fabulous morning paddle boarding, such a great laugh and the water was quite warm when we fell in. Wetsuits we’re lovely and clean and the instructor was great at making sure we were all ok irrespective of our experience.

We had a fantastic experience with Woody guiding us across Derwentwater. We were blessed with perfect weather, which made the whole morning brilliant. All equipment was in very good condition, I felt confident and excited to get out onto the water. This was my first time paddle boarding, but thanks to the thoughtful way Woody explained everything we were all quickly comfortable with the board & paddle. A really enjoyable time, thank you.

We all had a beautiful day surrounded by beautiful views on the lake and had lots of fun on a lovely sunny day! Our instructor was brilliant. He taught us well and made us feel very safe on the lake. Would recommend to anybody who is curious!

Excellent SUP adventure

A brilliant experience from start to finish. Our instructor John welcomed us on arrival in Crow Park, Keswick and made sure we got the right gear ( wetsuits + buoyancy vest + paddle + board) allocated to us. After a short instructional talk we got straight on our boards and out across Derwentwater. John gave instruction throughout but also pointed out local landmarks and some history. We were encouraged to stand up if we could or just relax and kneel on the board. If people fell in, which we all did at some point, it was easy to get back on the board, and John was there to help where needed. We paddled out past and round Derwent Island with its National trust house and then back to our starting point. For £25 the whole 2hr experience (with more than 90mins on the board) was fantastic value for money and something you should definitely try if opportunity allows. Our session was 13th August 2022.

Fantastic Experience

Paddle boarding for the first time with my husband and another couple on Derwentwater. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Phil, the instructor was informative and allowed people to progress at own pace, giving lots of tips to make the most of the session…often delivered with good humour. Would highly recommend.

What an excellent event - informative tuition delivered well with humour. No pressure and everyone could move at own pace. Would recommend this event - but you do need to be fairly fit

Brilliant instructor (Phil) Very informative, made the whole experience really good fun. Organized, easy to find. Highly recommend. If you’re going to park your car in the long stay car park give yourself plenty of time as it is really busy.
