The experience on the island was exciting and very interesting. Luca was perfect in organizing the tour for both days I was there. Precise in guiding me through this experience and complete with information. Incredible in organizing stops for lunch with barbecue organized directly by him in the designated rest areas. Then he reached the top by making me an Italian coffee with the Moka!!!!! An experience to be recommended especially with Luce as a guide who complements the beauty of the place very well

Best way to appreciate and see the Island

We recently took the 2-day Kangaroo Island tour with Kangaroo Island Hire-a-Guide. The first day focused on wildlife (koalas, kangaroos and, luckily for us, the exotic echidna); the second day on the incredible scenery and the Island’s recovery story from the dreadful wildfires a few years ago. If you have the time, we strongly recommend the 2-day tour to get the full story of this remarkable place. This firm is a two-person operation. Our guide, Kangaroo Island native Nikki Redman, was exceptional and takes you places that other tours wouldn’t go and you certainly wouldn’t find on your own. She had a phenomenal knowledge of wildlife, nature and the Island’s history. The BBQ lunches prepared were fabulous and a lot of fun. Very highly recommended.

Fantastic diurnal and nocturnal tour of Kangaroo Island, with the expert guide (and great chef ;-) Luca! Many animals could be spotted in the wild: kangaroos, koalas, penguins, sea lions, seals... And a beautiful view of the night sky, with explanations on the Southern Cross. Unforgettable!

Intimate, Once in a Lifetime, Amazing Guide- Highly Recommend

My wife and I did the Best of Kangaroo Island 2 Day Tour and the Nocturnal Tour and they were both amazing! We saw kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, eagles, falcons, echidnas, owls, fairy penguins, sea lions, seals, heaps of birds and even a whale and a scarlet robin (which is apparently quite rare). A sea lion pup even came right up to us, it was incredible! Luca makes it what it is though. Who better to show you Kangaroo Island other than someone who truly loves the place. When he spoke about or described places we were at or heading to, he was still so excited himself. He was so professional, friendly and knowledgeable, and gave us a lot of tips for when traveling the island ourselves. Thank you Luca and Lutz, our stay would not have been the same without you. Absolutely Perfect

We visited Kangaroo Island in early March, 2020. On two separate days we flew down from Adelaide and spent the full day with Luca and his incredible knowledge of KI and both the plant and animal life. So close to the fires our expectations weren't high, but we saw vast numbers of kangaroos, many koalas, sea lions galore, and miles of unburned landscape. Luca was right about insisting we come and right about everything else we did together. Conversation and animal spotting were all first class and a delight. Highly recommend his services and advice!

A truly “exceptional” tour. Tim was our guide and he gave us two days of amazing KI highlights - sensational scenery, wonderful wildlife, fabulous food and so much more!

Amazing guide for an amazing island

We spend 2 days with Lutz on Kangaroo Island and he showed us the hidden secrets of the Island. Without him, we would not have been able to discover the wonders on this place. We travel with children (9, 12 and 14 years old) and they kept excited the entire 2 days. Lutz helped us to spot Wallabies, Kangaroo, Koalas, Echidnas, Goannas, Seals, Parrots, and many others animals in the wild. He showed us beached with pristine waters, hidden beaches reached only with a secret tunnel in the rocks. He drove us on dirt road I would never took if I would have been by myself. His knowledge and contact with children was really great. Definitely one of our best moment in our Australia tour. Thank you Lutz!

Fauna e flora di Kangaroo Island

Il tour è bello ed interessante. Abbiamo visitato le principali attrazioni dell’isola e Luca, sempre presente con noi due, ci ha fatto vedere le specie di fauna che occupano Kangaroo Island - canguri, koala, leoni marini - illustrandoci il loro modo di vivere e le loro abitudini, rivelandosi attento conoscitore degli animali visti. In più, ci ha preparato due ottimi picnic, con BBQ, insalate e zuppe calde, senza farci mancare del buon vino australiano. In conclusione, ottima esperienza, sicuramente da ripetere !

It was a fantastic experience! We booked a 2 day tour with Luca and everything was perfect. Very knowledgeable and organised, attentive to the guide, friendly and excellent barbecue for lunch. 2 days on Kangaroo Island

2 amazing days and 2 wonderful excursions to kangaroo island. Both guides with high competence and a lot of kindness made us enjoy the wilder side and the natural Australian beauty on the island. Excellent barbecues offered during the tour. The vans used were very well equipped and comfortable💪

How to ruin two days of vacation in a beautiful place...

The program was very interesting and the place was beautiful, shame about the inappropriate, rude and unpleasant behavior of the guide Luca. I do not recommend using this guide.

Fantastic tour

We only had two and a half days to spend in KI and we relied on Hire a Guide to tour the island and admire it in all its splendor: we saw varied and unique panoramas, as well as the typical animals of the island. The excursions are organized in small groups so you can enjoy the experience to the fullest. The guide, Luca, is truly professional and accurate in his explanations, he makes you totally immerse yourself in the charm of nature that this island offers, with full respect for the local ecosystem. We had a great time, really very welcoming and also a good cook! We highly recommend it!

Discovering Kangaroo Island

Luca was an excellent guide to discover the beauty of Kangaroo Island. Given how large the island is the 2-day tour is super recommended: during the first day we saw many wild animals such as kangaroos, koalas and sea lions, while in the second the splendid natural views that the island offers, such as the Remarkable Rocks and the Admiral Arch. The tour it also includes lunch with local specialties prepared by Luca and tasted in the various picnic locations on the island. With Luca we were also able to visit a local distillery and taste their selection of gins. If you are on Kangaroo Island don't miss a tour of the island with Luca!

Local guide not to be missed!

On the occasion of our honeymoon, our travel agency put us in the hands of the good Luca for two days to get to know Kangaroo Island: never was a more appropriate choice! Luca lives on the island and knows it very well, he showed us all the most famous places without missing a live cooked lunch in the open air (thanks also to the free-use facilities scattered around the island) and above all a good break coffee that makes our Italian hearts beat so much. Available to stop the car to photograph kangaroos, koalas and sea lions in their natural environment and to recommend places to dine, good company and friendly. In short, a must for visiting Kangaroo Island: highly recommended!

Exceptional

Beautiful experience, we visited almost the entire coast, saw wonderful places. Luca was patient and kind, he prepared excellent coffees and picnics for us. We drank excellent wine. He is very friendly and professional. He made us discover unusual places even far from the tourist circuits. I recommend it to everybody. We saw dozens of different animals.

Splendida giornata

Luca è la migliore guida dell’isola! Accogliente amichevole e professionale. Ci ha fatto vivere una giornata indimenticabile. Portandoci in tutti i posti più belli dell’isola, addolcendoci le soste con un buon caffè e ottimi cookies ed un magnifico barbecue per pranzo. Lo consigliamo fermamente!

Esperienza indimenticabile

Accolti al porto e trasporti nel bel mezzo della natura di Kangaroo Island. Primo passo alla ricerca dei canguri. Secondo passo un saluto in spiaggia ai leoni marini Terzo passo alla ricerca dei koala. In ogni momento l’ottima giuda Luca, ci ha fatto conoscere questo magnifico luogo dandoci spiegazioni sulla vita e le abitudini degli animali oltre a brevi cenni storici. Per non parlare del pranzo in mezzo agli eucalipto. Luca ci ha veramente “coccolato” per tutto il tour.

Due giorni spettacolari!!

Luca è stato davvero una guida fantastica trasmettendoci la passione e l'amore per questa stupenda isola. Ho particolarmente apprezzato il fatto di essere in un gruppo ristretto (6 persone) e di poter chiacchierare con Luca che vive da tanti anni sull'isola e che ci ha mostrato i luoghi più belli da vedere ed anche quelli meno turistici per osservare i koala. Assolutamente sensazionali i pranzi e gli spuntini con caffè e dolcetti preparati da Luca. Consiglio assolutamente a tutti di partecipare a questo tour che è stato una delle cose più emozionanti che ci rimarranno del nostro viaggio in Australia!!

Esperienza eccellente!

In realtà oltre ai 2 gg abbiamo aggiunto un’ escursione serale per esplorare la fauna notturna. Un’ ottima esperienza con guida italiana espertissima dell’ isola e preparatissima . Luca è stato molto bravo e ci ha permesso di conoscere luoghi incantevoli e apprezzare la fauna locale . L’ unico neo non dipendente dalla guida ma dai recenti incendi il non avere potuto rivedere la parte ovest dell ‘ isola ma qui la natura si rigenera in fretta quindi a breve anche Flinders Chase sarà rigogliosa. Bravo Luca ! Grazie!

Due giorni indimenticabili con Luca

Abbiamo fatto il tour di due giorni con la guida Luca, ci ha guidati con cura e spiegazioni eccellenti riguardo a questa natura unica al mondo, siamo stati viziati con barbecue a 5 stelle immersi nel verde. Consiglio vivamente di provare questa esperienza più unica che rara.
