Once in a lifetime experience - it’s worth it for the guide to increase chance of tiger sightings

The trip was so good - we were so lucky because we got to see a tigress and her 3 cubs plus another tiger in the bush! We saw her kill a spotted deer in the lake and then hide it in the bush and growl for her cubs to come. One of the best things I’ve seen in India and in my life! Sukret the tour organizer made sure to book me for the good zones — 4-6 where you can see tigers. The other ones after are too arid. Make sure you pay for the better tour in order to go to the better places! Wasim the driver was very professional and polite too made sure we arrived and came back to Jaipur on time. And please don’t worry about the length of the drive, it is a long day but there are stops and they make sure you are comfortable so it’s not miserable by any means. The hotel you stop at to wait before going to the park is nice too, mostly business people and tourists on holiday there so it feels like a comfortable crowd, safari bus driver is very good and speaks good English. The guide told me if you go with them 4/5 times you can see tigers vs going by yourself, another wildlife documentary guy told me he only sees them about 2/5 of the time.

A wonderful first experience in India

This was my first time to India and I wanted to take the opportunity of a work trip to explore a little. This 3 days trip from Jaipur to Delhi was exactly what I needed - as a female solo traveler I was a bit worried to explore on my own but all my fears disappeared on the trip that went extremely smoothly ! The hotels were of good standard and the activities (safari, bird watching, Agra sightseeing !) perfect to get a sense of India’s richness. Everything was perfectly organised to perfection. Special shoutout to Abdul who was my wonderful driver whose calm and care made me feel safe relaxed and happy and whose company is a delight

Not worth it

We booked the day trip from Jaipur and we're pretty disappointed. The drive from Jaipur is long (as we expected), but the safari was disappointingly short and involved a 1.5 hour drive from the pickup location to a very distant park entrance (we got zone 9 by chance). This drive was in a large open air bus and mostly involved going through dusty farmland in the hot sun. By the time we got to the park entrance, we only had time for about a 45-minute loop in the park. Saw some deer and birds and what looked like fake tiger tracks. Then we did the 1.5 hour drive back to the pickup location and then the 4 hour drive back to Jaipur. In total, was about 14 hours in the car for 45 mins of underwhelming nature. The cherry on top was that after we were already on our way to the safari, we got a call telling us that our group of 4 had been split up on two tours and that one of us had to go alone. It was frustrating to hear this so late when we had no recourse, but at least it was a assured that I (a man) would be the one in a different bus than my wife and our friends. When we got to the bus loading area, we were told that my friend (a woman who was uncomfortable going alone) was actually the one isolated on a different bus. There was plenty of space for all of us to fit on one bus, but we were told passport control at the gate would not let us in. After 30 minutes of arguing, all the buses but one had left, and my three friends went without me. Our driver from Jaipur then was nice enough to drive me to catch up with the buses and then at long last they just let me get on. When we got to the gate of the park, the government officials barely looked at our group and just waved us through. So it was a ton of stress in which they bullied my friend to move to a different bus than could have all been avoided. Our driver from Jaipur was good, but the booking company did not do a good job at all to ensure we were together or got a good zone in the park. I understand they might not have control of this, but the lack of upfront communication about this was truly disappointing. It's probably the worst excursion I've ever done while traveling, and although we got unlucky with our zone and booking, I don't think it's woryh all the driving for a very small chance of seeing cool wildlife.

Too much

It's just to much to do in one day from Jaipur, you'll spend most of the day travelling and have little time to enjoy the sights. If you want to go to the park spend a day or two there and do the morning visit to the park. The driver was great and lunch was good but I can't recommend you do this day trip.

Great experience!

Our driver, Wasim, was super friendly and helpful. The drive to Ranthambore is about 3.5 hours each way. You get picked up around 7.30 am, meaning you get to Ranthambore just before 11.00 am. The driver took us to Ranthambore Fort, where we stopped for one hour. Then we had lunch at a nearby hotel. The safari itself started at 2.00 pm and finished just after 6.00 pm. It's in an open top bus, but that wasn't an issue. You are unlikely to see any less than if you have a jeep to yourself. If anything you might see more as you're sitting higher up than you would if in a car. We did see a tiger right at the end (albeit a sleeping tiger). The guide said that when we went (March) there's a 40 percent chance of seeing a tiger. In the summer it's 90%, apparently. We also saw a sloth bear (albeit from afar). That's a rarer sighting than a tiger. You're guaranteed to see lots of monkeys and deer. You might also see owls and mongooses. Be prepared to get back to Jaipur around 10.00 pm! Overall, a great experience.

The best way to Visit Ranthambore Park from Jaipur

3 of us were staying in Jaipur and this Safari trip was perfect for enabling us to have a day out at Ranthambore Park. We got picked up from the hotel and taken straight to the area, our driver was very nice and professional- it is quite a long drive to the safari park so having such a comfortable car also made the experience good. We had requested to visit Ranthambore Fort beforehand, so we spent about 1hr here- it's worth a visit, but if you've seen other forts in Jaipur then this may not be the most impressive one, it does command some lovely views across the surrounding valleys however. After this we had a great meal at one of the local hotels before being picked up for the safari tour on a canter. We booked a bit late so the Jeeps were fully booked but the canter was comfortable enough. Unfortuantely the day we went there were no tigers to be seen by anyone and we were a bit disappointed, but we managed to see a large variety of the other local wildlife so it was still worthwhile and a good day out regardless. After the safari we were driven back to our hotel. Not having to arrange transport or entry tickets to the park etc certainly streamlines the process and takes the stress away, so I would definitely recommend this tour if you are travelling from Jaipur! The driver and tour operator were very communicative and helpful so we never felt concerned about anything at any point and would recommend to friends if they were visiting.

A great day

An incredible day with Abdul, pickup was on time, car was spotless. Abdul was excellent company on the drive. The yrip was flexible and we made a few small changes to suit me. Git indredibly lucky and saw a beautiful tigress walking right past our vehicle. What a privelege. Would recommend thus company without hesitation.

Well organized trip - we saw tigers!

The tour arrangements were very well organized. We received confirmation via Whatsapp. Our driver was on time with a clean and safe car. We visited the fort first, a must see - there were peacocks, donkeys, loads of monkeys, and lots of flies (we survived), then we were taken to a tourist shop/woman's charity (frankly, I wish this was at least listed on the itinerary) and then to a nice lunch at a local hotel. We were the only guests, but the food was great! Also there were clean toilets. Then the safari picked us up. We were in a truck with several others. The drivers of those things deserve extra praise. After driving around for almost two hours and seeing interesting wildlife, we finally heard that tigers were nearby, and then magically one came quite close. We tracked it for a while, it went for a swim, and we were mesmerized. Definitely worth it. Koodos to our driver as well, we were a bit late starting back, but he was so patient and generous.

Scam..

Accidentally booked for transfer only as the title said “safari all inclusive” and then I’m the small print it said only transfer. I realised within a few hours and asked them to refund. They would not give refund. Also very over priced after speaking with the hotel we were staying at they said 10,000 rupees for transport and safari is normal.

Tiger Safari - great advice and management

We visited Rajasthan with our two teenage children in October/November 2023 and due to one thing and another our plans changed while we were there. I contacted VMI Tours online while in Jaisalmer to seek advice and costs and received an immediate reply from Sukret. (I had also contacted other tour agents and got no reply). I have to commend Sukret because we changed our plans several times and each time he came up with a new itinerary and new quotes, communicating by whatsapp and email and phone. Although we never met -- Sukret was always available. We always wanted to find a way to do Tiger Safari at Ranthambhore. He told us the park was half day closed during the week on a couple days; and that the best chance of seeing Tigers was to book for Zones 1-5 in the park. In the end we found our own way to Ranthambhore and found our own hotel there but we booked safari with VWI. We paid via paypal for 4 tickets and received those tickets the day before safari (when they are released by the Park). We got the tickets on email & whatsapp and were told we just needed to show our passports. In the event, the Park didn't check anyone's passport or ticket but all was good. Our family went on a Cantar because all Jeeps were booked but in the end I don't think this mattered at all. We were delighted to get tickets for Zone 2 (the zone choice is a lottery). We were picked up on time at 06.30 AM from the hotel by our guide and driver. With a cantar you do then spend 30 minutes picking everyone else up (seats 20) from their respective hotels which can be frustrating but everyone is doing the same thing so don't worry. Entry to the park was swift. And by the way it is beautiful and wild with the fortress looming high above you. I have to say we were lucky. Within 5 mins of being in the park the guides heard 'warning' sounds from birds - a tiger alert. 10 mins later they spotted fresh tracks. 10 minutes later they heard monkey warning sounds. Then we found Tigers! Not just a beautiful adult but a mother with 3 cubs (4 - 5months old). Breathtaking. They were in the road and when they walked off we drove around to catch sight of them again. I have to say that the advantage of Cantar is being a little higher up than a jeep so you do get good views. However there will be several other Cantars and jeeps all in the same spot so getting a good view of the tiger is also a matter of luck. The Cantars are less manoeverable than Jeeps. I'd advice a camera with a long-ish lens if you are fussed about getting good pix/video. But it was incredible. Even the guides said spotting the trio of cubs was pretty rare. We also saw several types of deer, lots of monkeys. a kingfisher and a crocodile -- and on the way out of the park ANOTHER tiger. this time an adult female called Arrowhead. I enclose some pictures, including one of how it can actually look from the vehicles. Anyway -- I do reccommend VWI and Sukret. Whilst no-one can guarantee which zone you are in or whether you will see Tigers, in terms of communication, advice and assistance from them everything was great and I do not begrudge the small commission they make at all. Safari starting from Jaipur

We had a very safe, polite and service orientated driver from Jaipur to Ranthambore and back. We booked via viator an all inclusive ticket incl. Driver, Safari, trip to and back. We enjoyed the day. Safari we could see jaguar. Unfortunately not tiger. Improvable is, that safari was in 20 persons bus, not in 4 persons cheep (as shown on pictures). All in one recommended day.

Recommended

Pick up worked perfect. Dropped at a breakfast place that was a bit of a scam; very expensive and not that good. Safari was fun, and I got lucky and saw a tiger. The park is nice in general.

Great company for excellent Tiger safaris

Amazing experience. Really well organised. I was picked up from Delhi on time, taken to the hotel and then met my guide. We did 3 safaris, with 5 tiger sightings in total. Well organised, reasonable price and great staff. Thanks very much!

Day trip to Ranthambore

We had an amazing time on our day trip to Rathambore National Park from Jaipur! Our driver Neetu, was right on time to pick us up and was very friendly. We got to see so many different animals at the National park including a sloth bear, a leopard and even a glimpse of a Tiger! Such a great experience overall, would definitely recommend!

A day in Ranthambore

We met our driver at our hotel in the morning. Then we drove south. We stopped for breakfast first in a place for tourists but we told the driver that we wanted to stop in a local place so he took us to a place along the road. Then the driver brought us to the fort. The fort is very beautifull, inside the nature, you can really appreciate a place that you don't usually see. Then we were taken to an hotel for lunch. At 15.30 we were picked up to go to the park, unfortunately we were on a huge car with 15 other people that were very loud. It would have been better to be on a jeep to see better the animals. In the park we did just a small area and kept going around on the same roads. Our guide didn't talk much english. We saw some antilops, some deers and just before the end luckily we saw a tiger. Tigers are very very beautiful and we were happy to see one. Then we went back to the hotel where we met our driver that took us back to Jaipur. In the complex it was a very beautiful and different day, we enjoied it.

Great Day from Jaipur

We had a wonderful day going to Same Day Ranthambore from Jaipur. We got picked up from Jaipur at 8:00 a.m. The driver was very informative and english speaking. He was the only English speaking driver we found in all agencies we booked tours in India. We reach Ranthambore at 11:00 a.m and visited Ranthambore Fort. Later we have bring to a nice hotel for Lunch. The safari came to pick us from the Hotel after our lunch. The organizer is always keep us on checking over phone if everything is going well. In 3 hours of jungle safari luckily we saw 2 tigers, a leopard and numerous other animals. The nature guide during safari in Jungle was very informative and explained us all about the forest and animals. Me and my partner highly recommend the agency.

Warning: Don’t go on this safari, trust me.

Worst experience. Taxi driver from Jaipur was the best of the whole day. The safari it self was a disaster. First it wasn’t even a jeep like on the photos, but a big open bus for like 20 people. Second the guide was the worst. Didn’t say anything, was looking on his phone instead of searching of animals, and got dropped off home before the guest without one single word. The guide showed zero interest in the safari or the people on the trip. On top of that, they were following the smaller jeeps and stopped why too long for nothing, waste of time.

Worst Safari guide ever

We had a super nice driver from Jaipur to Ranthambore and back. He knew a lot to tell about every surroundings and made sure we had a pleasant and safe journey. The bad part of our trip was the safari. First of all, we had a safari in a huge open bus. For the price we paid we at least expected a smaller jeep. The trip we booked included a English speaking safari guide. This guide barely spoke/explained and was more interested in his phone than doing a safari. Also, our bus followed the smaller jeeps, let them explore some areas, where our bus just stopped and waited for the jeeps to report back to our bus if there was something to see. We did some safari tours and this was really our worst experience.

Ranthambore Safari (One night stay)

Excellent trip to the Ranthambore Park.The driver was always on time and I had two great safaris there.I was even lucky enough to see a tiger.The hotel in Ranthambore was very close to the national park and comfortable.Highly recommended!!

Tiger was amazing

The best driver and unforgettable experience. Lunch was great, safari was memorable. The fort was impressive. Definitely worth to do it.

WASTE OF TIME

The driver we had kept looking at his Mobil and we nearly had a terrible accident Also he answered about 20 phone calls during our journey while driving 😡

Amazing safari!!

Driver arrived a little late, we arranged with pick-up 07:00 but the driver arrived 08:10 (thats why its not 5star) The driver was nice and specked ok English’ish. We saw a lot of animal, and the best was Tiger and leopard’s!! Amazing! The fort was good, many monkeys 🙈 but some short time because the driver was late. Lunch was amazing.. we got 6 different dishes served. They will take you to tourist “trap” where they sell overpriced stuff.. but thats normal, so if you are tiered off it, just let them know and they will drive. The guides at the fort will try to charge you from rs 50-700

A nice nature and fort tour

The tour was very nice and well put together. I was picked up in Jaipur and was first taken to Ranthambore Fort. Then after a very nice lunch at a nearby resort I set off on the afternoon tour. It was winter off season so although no tigers were spotted it was a very nice nature guide and the fort tour was a welcome addition. The tour organizer, driver, and guides were very informative and courteous. I was jack in Jaipur that evening.

Amazing tour experience

Highly recommend. Everything was perfectly organised. Hotel forgot our lunch but the host was keen to assist us immediately after we notified him and he sorted things out with the hotel for us so we could have lunch.

Saw a tiger but driver was reckless

I loved Ranthambore. Gorgeous place. But my experience was unorganized and ended very badly. The driver spoke very poor English, making it difficult to communicate on simple things. He had not been briefed about the day, so at one point he seemed confused about my safari. Had to WhatsApp the booking manager to make sure it was clarified. No one informed me how much cash to expect for the guided tour of the fort, so thankfully I had just enough to cover the 600 rupees pushed on me. I suspect I overpaid, given that a group tour at Anmer Fort The worst part was the drive back to Jaipur. My driver had been and was continuing to drink an alcoholic beverage. He was hiding the cup from me but caught him sipping while driving and smelled alcohol. He drove very recklessly, almost missing curves, was weaving. At one point, I had to scream for him to brake, so thankfully we avoided hitting a cow at high speed. But we did hit the cow! I had to keep the driver awake by speaking to him. Offered for him to rest but he refused to admit he was tired. I was a solo female traveler, and for two hours, I was messaging my husband and friends to stay calm and keep someone posted. I complained to this company but I doubt any action will be taken. Harrowing experience that basically ruined what had been a nice day.

The company helpfully arranged a two day tiger tour from Jaipur ending in Pushkar. I was able to spot six tigers and very much enjoyed the experience, thank you

Great transportation service

We were provided with a wonderful guide and transportation for our day trip from Jaipur to Ranthambore National Park. The driver was prompt and the ride comfortable. Defintely would recommend this company if you are looking for day trip. Bonus, we saw tigers!

Beautiful Park

This trip was good. Everything listed was included. We additionally stopped for breakfast/tea on the way to Ranthambore and dinner/tea on the return. We also stopped at a shop in Ranthambore while we waited for the safari to begin. We saw a lot of animals on the safari, including a tiger! It is beautiful in the park and the fort is amazing. I would've prefered to have more time in the fort than go to the shop at all because it was a bit high pressure. The lunch was delicious! Our driver was great. Based off the picture for the tour we were not expecting to be in a vehicle with about 20 people. We also were in the vehicle to pick them up and drop them off from their respective hotels in Ranthambore. Definitely check the weather for the day and dress warmly if needed!!

We saw a tiger

They picked is on Jaipur. I was driver was excellent. He was on time at 7:30am and drove us to Rathambore. We stayed in the Mount Valley Resort. Which was pretty nice. We checked in and waited for the first Safari which happened at 2pm. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. Everyone in the truck was Indian but us. So the guide would explain in Hindi and then come by our seat and give us a summary in English. We saw deers, monkeys, a small crocodile and a tiger. The second safari happened at 6am. It can be chilly, so I'll recommend wearing something that'll keep you warm. Some folks even took a blankie with them. We didn't see a lot of animals and the ride was incredibly bumpy. Like uncomfortably so. I think it had to do with the zone we went. I think we went to zone 4/5 so if I could avoid those I would. Overall a good experience.

Nice trip

We first visited the fort, which had impressive views and a lot monkeys, after that we had a really nice meal and in the Safari we got lucky and could see a Tiger!

Important also due to Ranthambhore Fort visit

Had this trip on 8-July. The communication was efficient - I was told on driver’s name and his phone in advance (thru email) and was picked up from hotel at 7:30 AM. Ride to the park is ~3.5 hours where you go explore Ranthambhore Fort first (which is a must visit and other companies don’t usually include it in itinerary. Take note that it’s restricted area and to the Fort you need to go on a special local car which is additional 400 rupiah. Entrance to the Fort is free though). Then driver brings you for lunch (at ~1 PM) in a local Indian cafe and by 3 PM to safari place. Safari was around 3.5 hours, on a way back diver was waiting on the road to pick me up and bring back to the hotel. So I came back to the hotel at around 10:30 PM. Thank you a lot, it was smooth and I managed to explore Rajasthan more through a window of a car also.

Great experience!

We had an amazing time doing this trip. The driver picked us up on time, on the way there we had a short break and in Ranthambore time for lunch. After the lunch we were picked up by a Canter (large vehicle for safari). We picked up the other passengers and then drove to the park. We were lucky enough to see two leopoards and one tiger! Apart from that we saw other animals like deers, monkeys, different kinds of birds and a mungo. I can only recommend this tour, although it always depends on luck whether you see a tiger or not.

Nice tour to escape the urban jungle

Unfortunately we didn't see any tigers, but we did see some other animals (crocodiles, bears, deer). Still a great tour. Just a bit of a drive from Jaipur.

Goed geregelde Safari trip

Goed geregelde trip naar tijger Safari. Wij hebben 2 safari’s gedaan met een overnachting en in allebei de keren een tijger gezien. Bij vragen en het doorgeven van ophaaltijden kregen we snel reactie en regelde alles direct. Erg fijn
