We had an amazing day today with Khrisna. He is a very kind, reliable tour guide with great knowledge about Jaipur. Furthermore he speaks great English and gave us a very fair price for the tour. After booking the Private Full Day Jaipur Tour with Om Ananda, and getting into a long discussion with the guide Krishna, about yoga and spirituality, I decided to book his temple tour as well to get a more in depth experience of spiritual life here in India. We began at the Tarkeshwar Mahadev Temple, where Krishna guided me through early morning Puja. It was a beautiful and humbling experience to be in the presence of so much faith and devotion. We continued to the other famous temples in the city including the Govindji Mandir and the Birla Mandir, with stops in between to get flowers, incense, and snacks. Krishna also gave deep explanations of the rituals, as well as yogic philosophy etc. He has great metaphors to explain Karma, and the Sanatana Dharma. While this tour centred along Hindu practice and ritual, Krishna shows great respect for all of the world's religious tradtitions, and one not need be a Hindu, or religious at all to find this tour moving or meaningful. Krishna gave me a chakra reading, as well as an astrological reading, and was able to provide personalized advice, as well as guidance received from his ashram. I think the highlight for me was a visit to the Galta Ji temple, a famous complex of temples and shrines dating back to the 15th century, nestled in the Aravalli Hills just east of the city. The area is a retreat for ascetics and yogis, and the atmosphere is incredibly serene. Om Ananda's Temple Tour is an incredible and profound experience, that will open a doorway to discovering India, as well as yourself. Anyone interested in yoga, spirituality, or with a curiosity about the meaning of life should definitely book this tour.
