Outstanding Jaipur Shopping Tour with Shakeer

I highly recommend Shakeer to anyone looking to experience Jaipur. He is reliable, knowledgeable, passionate and fun! My girlfriend and I throughly enjoyed our time with him on a shopping tour and were able to miss the typical tourist traps. Even before arriving in Jaipur, he was very helpful over WhatsApp and tailored our itinerary to the 1 and a half days we had in the buzzing city. What really stood out to me was Shakeer’s honesty - the places he took us to were tailored to where we wanted to go and what we were searching for, we were never pressured by him or any of the shops/people he took us to, and to be honest, we experienced nothing but outstanding service during the day and a half we spent with Shakeer. He will make sure you don’t fall into the tourist traps and take you instead to places you won’t have heard of and that will be superior in quality and much more cost competitive. I got a fantastic tailored suit which I hadn’t anticipated getting on this trip, as well as some other items I am very pleased with. If you’re looking for someone to enjoy and show you the sights of Jaipur I cannot recommend Shakeer and his team enough! We will certainly be referring our friends and also organising the rest of our stops during our visit to India through Shakeer.

Unforgettable shopping tour guide Jaipur

Shakeer was an absolutely outstanding tour guide - my boyfriend and I could not recommend him to you enough. What is most notable is his overwhelming desire to make sure that the people that he is showing around have the best possible experience of Jaipur that they can. It is evident that he is immensely proud of his city and wants people visiting to experience the same beauty that he so clearly sees. His knowledge of the shops are second to none - we had lined up a load of gem and fabric shops that we had found online. He instead took us to suppliers who you wouldn’t find on the internet, who were superior in quality, and a quarter of the price. We have asked Shakeer to take us out again tomorrow to show us the sites of Jaipur - his personal touch and passion has made our trip and is far more enjoyable than a generic tour guide or travel agency! We would thoroughly recommend seeing Jaipur with Shakeer!

Someone to help you find the things you are after in the chaos of Jaipur!

We needed to find some small but unique gifts and also source a couple of producers to grow our small business. After a couple of fruitless days checking out the bazaars we employed Shakeer and could not have been happier. All our aims were achieved and he was a good driver and great company. We also went to a couple of excellent restaurants ( we employed him the next day too) I highly recommend him!

We had a fabulous day with Shakeer as our guide. He listened intently to our requests and took us to exactly the kind of places we wanted but were unable to find on our own. Every destination delivered high quality and reasonably priced goods that we had not seen in any of the bazaars or shops we had previously visited. This excursion was great. Shakeer was a great guide and brought us to places where we wouldn’t have normally found and weren’t being pushed to buy things. Not only was he laid back and friendly, he offered to help in any way possible. Truly a good person and a good guide. Rang ahead for us as looking for specific items to find out stock and guide prices. Also knows a lot of Jaipur history which he talked us through as we drove around the city. I had a lot of business to do and spent 4 days with Shakeer as my guide. He is an intelligent and fine person who understood all my business and personal shopping needs. All the shop owners know and respect him, which reflected very well on how I was treated, and the prices that were quoted. I was left to personally and confidentially speak and negotiate, but if there was a need for his help he was attentive and professional. Shakeer also knows all the monuments and was able to mix in some touring attractions. I had a fantastic, successful trip to Jaipur because of him. And the restaurants we stopped at were authentic and delicious.

Amazing shopping day in Jaipur!

We decided to do a day of shopping in Jaipur and got lucky enough to find Shakeer on TripAdvisor.My daughter and I had one of the best days of our trip with Shakeer. He is a gem of a human. He is incredibly knowledgeable, fun and funny and knows great places to shop. He is also incredibly responsive and really tunes in to what his customers want. I appreciated his flexibility, as we custom designed our day. There were a few stores that I wanted to check out so we interwove my ideas with his suggestions. All of the shops we went to were great and we never felt pressured to buy. He is a great driver, tour guide and his English is excellent ( he also speaks French) . Our experience with Shakeer felt like we had spent the day with a good friend. I only wish that we had discovered Shakeer and his company when we first arrived in Jaipur. We have done two other tours during our time here and the quality of what Shakeer offers is far superior to the other guides we had. Do yourself a favor and book one of his tours.

Great Shopping Expedition with a Wonderful Guide

Thanks to Trip Advisor- we literally found a gem of a guide -Shakeer, who took us on a memorable shopping trip in Jaipur. He literally knows "inside out" of everything to do with Jaipur (history, culture and of course shopping). He is very service oriented and customized the shopping trip to suit our needs. Our shopping spree included a visit to Vishnu Jewelers, Heritage Textiles, Jannat Pashmina and a collectible curio shop (I don't remember the name). Each of these places were hidden gems, operated by very kind and polite shop owners (family run businesses). They were willing to spend time with us to show whatever we needed and put no pressure on us buy unwanted items. The prices were also very reasonable. Good news is that they all accepted electronic payments. We came back very satisfied with our shopping experience. One key advise- if you want to maximize your shopping time, please pack lunch from your hotel (eat heavy breakfast, if you can)- traffic in Jaipur can jeopardize your plans-it's better not to take a long lunch break. We shopped with our 10 year old daughter. She would have been easily bored with this experience. However, Shakeer and all the shop owners paid special attention to her and her needs-she had a great shopping experience as well. That certainly helped us to focus on our own shopping for sure :). Shakeer also operates other tours. We highly recommend you check out those tours as well. She speaks excellent English. He is apparently very fluent in French too. We highly recommend him as your personal guide to the Pink City!

Excellent service and a delightful person!

Shakeer impressed me from the moment I met him, he arrived punctually and was very professional and nice. When I got into the car, he asked me what I wanted to see and based the tour off of that. I’ve never had that kind of input before on a tour. He based the experience on what I wanted to see and shop for. I got to see so amazing fabrics and clothing (my interests). He was a great driver too, smoothing navigating the Jaipur traffic. He truly wants you to be pleased! He went so far as to offer to spot me money! He even helped negotiate down the price on a kurta set I had my eye on. Really incredible service from a very wonderful guy. I would highly recommend him for any tour. Such a friendly guy with your best interests at heart!

Such nice encounter with Shakeer...

FYI, I hardly ever leave a feedback but today, I take time to do it because Shakeer deserves it so much. We just came back from Jaipur where we stayed 4 days with Shakeer as our driver at the beginning but more than our driver at the end... On the professional part, he's just the right driver if you want to discover Jaipur not only monuments but also shopping. He's amazing. If you have a request, he knows the perfect place. We did it for pashminas, for gemstones and miniatures paintings. Trust me, I'm sure there were no other better places we could stop. We had amazing time with the stores' owners. These encounters with local people where strong and full of respect, humanity and the 3 of them where passionated by their jobs. We could have stayed hours and hours (that's what we did). I can also testify that people who had an shopping experience with Shakeer stay in contact with him because he keeps going on sourcing for his clients (around the world) even after the trip, on any shopping request! An other nice point, it's that Shakeer loves his country and likes to speak about India. You can ask him any question, he will answer you. We've appreciated it a lot as we are an expat family living in India since 1 year. And on the other part, I want to mention who he is. Shakeer is a such kind, respectful and humble man. All my family had "connections" with him. He speaks with his heart and that's the kind of human encounter that marks you for a very long time. To sum-up, Shakeer is not only a great "guide car driver" but also a very "beautiful person". All the best to him.

Shakeer at it’s best

I went for Stay in a Hotel of Jaipur. We wanted to shop some handmade things which are not easily available and here our experience begins. He took us to shop where each and every Handmade products were available. The shop was nice as there were all covid19 precautions can be felt personally. Products were of nice quality and customer satisfaction was ultimate. I would say must visit shopping place.

He knows Jaipur like the back of his hand and was able to take me to fascinating places off the beaten track that were exactly what I was looking for. I am in Jaipur. And normally I don’t write reviews But after meet shakeer from raj tours. He took me around nice places. Where I found some nice quality of authentic handmade things. Like Jewelry pashmina. The places where he took me to. They were best places. I was really surprised to see such an art if you are an art lover you should definitely call shakeer. Thank you shaker for all.

A tour that asks what you want to do, then delivers - brilliantly!

We arrived earlier than expected in Jaipur, and so thought a quick trip to the bazaar might be a fun way to spend a few hours - so we looked up a well-respected tour guide on TripAdvisor, and found Shakeer. We got lucky. He started by asking us what we actually wanted to do, then - when he heard we didn't really want a hard-sell touristy market experience - took us to a few awesome stores which we were thrilled with. Throw in a few photo opportunities, interesting conversation and some impressions (!) and we had a really memorable evening. If you're going to be in Jaipur for any length of time, and want to find places not in the guide books, ask Shakeer - a local boy who knows how to avoid the cliche experiences.

Great clothing shopping tour

My wife and I wanted to get clothes tailored. Shakeer's connections saved us a lot of time and money bargaining for clothes, he was able to get us to where we needed to go and introduce us to kind and honest people. I really recommend using his services, he is nice, patient, fun to hang out with, and has a great attitude.

Shop till you drop!

Shakeer took us around for half a day to a number of specialised shops so we could find the items we wanted. The quality of the stores were top notch, and you could tell knowledge of these shops only comes from a local. My favourite purchase was a custom, tailored blazer for a comparatively cheap price compared to home. They even delivered it to my hotel in 24h!

Amazing tour & great service

We booked this tour due to the reviews we saw on trip advisor. Shakeer took both myself and my partner on a shopping tour around Jaipur. Our stops included Jewellery shops and fabric shops. Throughout the tour we saw how carpets were made and how they made the jewellery. Shakeer knew of the local cuisine and the nice places to eat which we really appreciated. I bought myself a 3 piece suit which was fantastic quality. The suit was tailor made. Shakeer asked his friend Mosin to take us on a tuk tuk ride which is an experience I'll never forget. Both Shakeer and Mosin both helped us so much on our trip. Finally, I made it clear to Shakeer that I wanted to propose to my girlfriend (now fiancé!) later in our holiday. I was emailing him before our holiday, and he emailed back within hours. We both felt safe throughout our trip with both Shakeer & Mosin, who were both brilliant characters. I'd recommend anyone books with Raj Tours as there is a reason they're number 1 on TripAdvisor!

The places he took us to for shopping had very nice items and none of the owners were pushy or pressured us to buy anything. He took us to the best local spots. Driving around with him is a lot of fun, and he did his best to accommodate all our requests, even helping us get mangos in the rain. Def book him! He was “on fleek”

Shakeer (the owner of Raj Tours) is the person for your Jaipur shopping tour/trip. I had many items that I wanted to purchase while in Jaipur, including a very, very large rug, cashmere blankets, and clothing. Shakeer had lots of contacts for stores and manufacturers off the beaten path for the items I wanted and I was able to purchase everything I wanted. I read in one of the other reviews that Shakeer's shopping tours did not include trips to the regular markets, and instead, only included going to manufacturers. By taking you to the manufacturers, he is only trying to save you money by cutting out the middle man. Nevertheless, I don't think he would have any problem taking his customers to the regular tourists markets if asked. I am a very picky eater and he drove across town to take me to Pizza Hut on at least two occasions.

Absolutely delightful day

I had the most magical day with Shakeer. A gentle , genuine person who is a fountain of knowledge about Jaipur and the best places to shop. Shakeer helped me indulge in my Jewellery addiction by taking me to a professional and trusted jewellery shops and I purchased some incredible pieces for amazing prices. After this, we paid visit to a textiles shop were I had a demonstration about block printing and had some clothes tailor made ! I am so happy with my purchases and can cherish these forever. Shakeer took the stress out of shopping and turned it into a soothing and fun experience. Having his knowledge and expertise is super beneficial and I feel very blessed to have met such a lovely person ! Highly recommended this tour for anybody wanted to purchase good quality items, see more of the pink city and learn more about local life. Amazing experience!!!

Shakeer was the best guide in Jaipur, do not buy anything in India before you know this tour. It takes us directly to the factories of carpets, silk, pashimir, clothes, jewelry and most importantly, all evaluated by tripadvisor users. in factories explain in detail the products, talk about local commerce and do not keep pushing products like in all other stores, they make you comfortable to make the purchase or not. In Agra and Delhi I was cheated by drivers who took me to horrible shops, but with Shakker it was totally different, he really cares about the customers and the service is impeccable. Highly recommend to everyone!

We came across Shakeer while waiting for a tuk tuk at our hotel and it was the best interaction I’ve had with a tour guide. He’s very funny and makes you feel safe. He has a good sense of humour and will make your trip much better. He makes you feel comfortable around. He gave us great advice about tourist traps and scams.
