Magical safari

The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and was an encyclopaedia of information. We were blessed to see two leopards as well as many rare birds and animals. A truly magical experience and I highly recommend going on this trip .

A fun experience!

Our tour guide, sourabh and driver, ramvilas were lovely! They really put in effort to scour the grounds for leopards - in fact, out of all the groups that were out that afternoon, our guide/driver were the ones that found majority of the leopards for everyone! Thanks for an awesome experience.

We had the most exciting time! The scenery was beautiful and weather was perfect and fresh! You could hear the sounds from all the animals. We saw many exotic birds. Leopard spotting near Jaipur!

I did the afternoon tour in a gypsy jeep vehicle with a driver and four other passengers. For the first couple of hours, the leopards were elusive and we only saw deer, antelope and a variety of birds, including peacocks. However, we lucked out and ended up seeing four panthers - two close up - in the last half hour. Everything was very professionally managed, including pickup and drop off. Although there are no guarantees about seeing leopards, it’s worth it because the reward of spotting one is priceless!

Amazing relaxing! A delight for our kids with Kanak a wonderful guide. It is a refreshing and sundeck way to sheebs a day away from the hustle and bustle of Jaipur!

Horrible experience! This is a scam

Horrible experience, we didn’t see any leopards. There is almost no animals left in the park, the rangers don’t speak English, they drive dangerously and extremely fast (scaring the rare birds still present in the park) and then they make you wait in the cold in the middle of the road (where there is nothing to see) for 1h (the experience last 1h30). The cars and drivers are dirty and smell horrible. This is clearly a scam. Avoid at all cost!

Leopard sightings 🐆

Great little trip. Safari is on the edge of the town into the national park of the mountains surrounding the city. We saw owls, deer, antelope, monkeys and the large male leopard! Fantastic 🐆😎

No Leapords Spotted

Couldn't spot a single Leapord in the 2.5hrs evening slot that we had. Due to tension in the city,the roads were blocked on 6th Dec and we couldn't make it to the safari as we didn't want to risk it with our kid being there. The requests to shift the booking to the next day was not entertained and the tour people wanted us to be there anyhow, despite government orders to shut everything in the city. I made arrangements through a different agent for the next day at half the cost. The charges by this agent was almost 100% more than what I paid the next day through the next agent for the same experience. They don't offer refund at any cost, even if city being shut so book at your own risk.I had to let go of my complete booking amount.

The most thrilling moment of our trip to India

We were picked up in a jeep from our hotel before dawn. The Jhalana Leopard Preserve is just outside Jaipur so easy to get to. Within 5 minutes of entering we saw a male leopard snoozing close to the dirt track. He woke up when a dog in the distance started barking (dogs that wander into the preserve are fair game). Then the real drama began. A large hyena came galumphing towards us, without a care in the world, totally unaware of the leopard watching him and crouching in a posture ready to pounce. You should have seen Mr. Hyena jump back when he finally realized that Mr. Leopard was ten feet away! Fortunately for the hyena our leopard had eaten the day before and let him pass by. You will never see anything like this in a zoo! We were lucky to have Rohit Gangwal as our guide, so got a great appreciation for how the preserve is about much more than leopards. He explained that by creating a viable preserve for an apex predator, you make an ecosystem that supports all kinds of creatures, including about a 100 different kinds of birds, many of which we spotted (sometimes with his help) as we drove around the preserve. Lots of Sambar deer including babies. At the end you can visit their nice interpretative center (clean bathrooms too). Don't miss this experience.

Overall slightly underwhelming

I have to start by saying we did see two leopards, albeit from a distance. The guide and driver were good but the whole experience felt a bit underwhelming. There was no other wildlife to see at all and emphasis is wholly on seeing the leopards. The drivers keep in touch with each other and when there is a sighting the jeep rushes to that spot. Other reviewers had said there is lots of other wildlife but we saw nothing to speak of.

Sunrise and a snap sighting of a leopard 🐆 🤩 magical moment

From pick up to drop off at our hotel in a jeep it was an amazing experience. Very experienced guides pointed out all sorts of wildlife and answered all our questions. We saw Sambar Deer , asian antelope , a pair of desert foxes , black shouldered kite and very sleepy spotted owlet (how our guide saw it … ) night jar and grey langur All the time still looking foe tracks and sounds indicating where a leopard may be. Just as we thought it would be a stunning leopard ran across our track. We then saw it again in three undergrowth. Magical and really finished off our adventure in Jaipur. Id really recommend this safari. Just pay heed to the booking it will be cold in the early morning and dress for it. We had Aussies with us who were in shorts and really felt the cold 😵‍💫🙈😵‍💫

Fabulous trip

From the moment we were collected from our hotel till we returned, we just had fun. Very friendly driver. Well looked after at the event. Didn’t manage to see a big cat but saw lots of other exciting creatures. Very obvious that all the drivers were keen for us to experience a sighting. Thoroughly enjoyed, would definitely go back again

Recommend if in Jaipur. Close to city and seeing the leopard's was wonderful. The park is beautiful and being in gypsy was different.

Great safari experience

Great safari, we rode around in an open jeep looking leopards. Rohit was very knowledgable and showed us how to look for leopards. In the end we saw many animals as well as a leopard eating its prey.

Early morning Leopard Safari Tour

We were so lucky to see a leopoard this morning. Our guide and driver were great. They had a lot of knowledge and knew were to look for the leopard. Would recommend this tour to everyone interested in wildlife and staying in Jaipur.

Great and beautiful place

Saw the star of jhalana today "Rana". Superb Sightings. We were the first ones to spot thanks to our driver shobhit who had good knowledge of the jungle and stopped and waited for a squirrel alarm call. After the long wait we got the first glimse of our beautiful leopard.

Jhalana, Jeeps, and Jaipur's Indiana Jones!

Didn't get to see any leopards, but my wife and I loved the Jhalana Safari! Naturalist and guide Rohit Gangwal and our driver Ganesh Prajapat were enthusiastic, passionate and very, very knowledgeable. We opted for the three-hour sunset tour and immediately got into Indiana 'Jaipur' Jones mode as we bounced around the reserve in an open top Jeep. Our intrepid team listened out for distress calls and liaised with other tour parties in their unrelenting quest for a sighting of the illusive leopards but it was not to be. But to be fair, it didn't realy matter. Instead we saw monkeys, deer and blue bull, and countless beautiful birds, such as Black-shouldered Kites, Bay-backed Shrikes, Blue-tailed Bee-eaters, Pied Kingfishers and Bush Quails to name but a few. We were blessed with great company, perfect weather and an exciting and thoroughly enjoyable experience. As an added bonus, we stayed in the Jeep for the drive back to the hotel, which was almost as much fun!

Leopard Safari

Amazing sightings Park. 2 leopards in one safari. Thanks to our driver Ganesh and guide Sourabh from World of Wilders. There are three four vendors here but would recommend booking with them as they are only people who provide naturalists here, offer good price with valued services and ease in communications be it whatsapp or email.... Thank you team. Keep the approach like this always.

DO NOT RECOMMEND!

They picked us up on time in a jeep and we had no problems until we arrived at the destination. The crew mismanaged the amount of passengers per jeep. A large family had 3 teenage boys without space on the same jeep and what was their thought process? They expected my husband and I to move jeeps and squeeze in with rangers from the reserve while everyone else had seats of their own. Completely disorganized and they never spoke English! However, we did see 2 leopards ( have the 2 stars)!

Disappointing Experience

The safari lasts about 2 hours. The area is fairly small and the trail essentially consists of dirt roads and reaching man-made waterholes, followed by ten other vehicles full of tourists. I didn't see one single animal of interest in that park. It all looks very artificial so it's hard to imagine elusive leopards making an appearance in those circumstances.

Amazing experience at Jhalana Safari Park, Jaipur and Jaipur by Night

We were in Jaipur for a short trip and we took the Jhalana Jungle Safari, as it was recommended by one of our friends. And WOW what a wonderful experience it was. Specially for the kids it was really fascinating & exciting and they will remember it forever. And to make this safari memorable, we would specially thank Kunal. Though he was tied up with other engagements, he still found time and accompanied us thru the entire safari. He guided us through this private tour, otherwise we wouldn’t have been able to spot the leopards. He also helped us in understanding how the various animals and birds communicate and behave in the jungle. He also gave us insights about each wildlife we came across, including the smallest of birds, different deers, peacocks and that was so enriching for us and the Kids. We would also thank the driver of the Gypsy - Shobhit who was quite patient and made sure we had a safe and amazing experience. We also took the Jaipur by Night trip with Kunal and that was great too. We were taken around the city to see all the forts at night. We also saw the Sound & Light show at Amer fort, which was part of the Jaipur by Night trip, which was very interesting and insightful. Thank u so much Kunal for giving us this memory and would surely recommend him.

We had booked #5 Jhalana safari tour with Rohit . He organised our tour end to end including our stay pickup and drop. We stayed at Saneer boutique hotel very close to airport and the safari point. We had a good stay at hotel food is quite good and the staff is very helpful. About the safari , it was an awesome experience sighting leopard head on and playing hide and seek in the tall shrubs. Park won’t disappoint you as you can sight some birds too. Good think about Rohit is, they are also involved in conservation of the area and ensure human animal conflict around the park.

Very amazing

What an amazing morning! It was totally worth it to wake up earlie. We had an amazing driver and guide who where both very enthusiastic, friendly and knew a lot about the nature and animals. Our guide and driver knew already that there was an leopard close to us because of the peacocks. We saw a leopard walking in the bush, not good enough for taking pictures but definitely very special.

Provided an inexperienced guide with no English

I have nothing against the guide or the national park itself. It’s a beautiful park right outside Jaipur, well preserved and you can see blue bulls, antelopes, monkeys and a variety of birds. I didn’t get to see a leopard, I’d say chance of spotting one is quite low. Which is still ok, they don’t guarantee it. The tour operator, Jhana Panther Safari is a dishonest business, do business with others if you get chance. We paid for an English tour by a “naturalist”, we received a guide who was inexperienced and did not speak any English. And him being a naturalist? He was looking at his phone for explanations of different bird species and reciting them to us in Hindi. The guide was a nice kid, but this is one of the more expensive operators. We paid double the fee of the cheapest tour in the reserve. Our hotel was 10 km away from the reserve, and when I asked for a pickup, the operator said they can’t because they only do pickups within the 8km radius of the reserve and asked for 800 rupees extra. Mind the fact that with uber it’s 400 round trip. The same guy, who is so adamant about the rules and promises; - Started the tour late - Squeezed an extra person in the jeep - Did not provide an English speaking guide He did not say a word until we confronted him. So we had a tour where the guide recited to us explanations about what we were seeing in Hindi; where we did not have any leopard sightings and did not get picked up. Avoid them and go to other operators, as far as we observed all the other operators do the same thing.

An incredible adventure into the natural habitat of big cats.

I highly recommend taking a break from the busy city life of Jaipur in search of the leopards of Jhalana. What an absolute spectacular experience! To see these magnificent majestic animals live and flourish within a natural space so close to the city is remarkable. The chances of seeing them is incredibly high, especially with the well trained respectful guides and drivers, who give you the absolute best opportunity to not only see them but to spend time with them. My guide Rohit, went above and beyond to make sure I got to see leopards. He tracked them through the sounds of the jungle and did his best to predict their movements. I went for a morning and evening drive in July and saw a total of five leopards. I got to spend some quality time with two, each passed right by my jeep only meters away! What an experience. One I will cherish forever! 😊

Wonderful experience at Jhalana Safari Park Jaipur

What a wonderful experience it was. My family will remember it forever. The curiosity and the rush inside to have a 10second glimpse of the leapord was something which I had never experienced before. And a plus was finding and discovering other types of birds and animals. Special thanks to Mr. Kunal Gangwal for guiding us through this private tour otherwise we wouldn’t have been able to spot the leopard. 4 Panther and other Animals in a Reservoir.

I was on a guided tour in this wild reservoir. a remarkable experience. in the middle of Jaipur. Rohit was an experienced guide. We could see 4 panthers. In the wild it was very interesting without fences. everything went smoothly and relaxed.

Afternoon leopard safari

We loved our experience! We hadn’t booked until the day, but this was all sorted over the phone first thing in the morning with the help of our cab driver. We were a little worried we may not get to see a leopard at all due to the heavy monsoon rain when we arrived, but we were lucky enough to see a female multiple times and a male in the distance. We both really enjoyed it and would recommend!

Took the 5 PM safari & had the good fortune of having Mr Rohit with us . Saw a male & female leopard within 20-25 mins of our drive . With an experienced driver & Rohits guidance we were able to see the leopard walk right in front of our jeep . We spent the rest of the time exploring the different routes in the open jeep . We were able to see a number of different birds , nilgai , monkeys & tons of peacocks . Rohit gave us a lot of information about the the leopards & other animals . Memorable and exciting

Two leopard sightings and saw one multiple times. We saw a female leopard in the first 15 minutes we were in the reserve. Following her to try to see her again was very exciting. We then saw a male leopard lazing, walking around and even throwing up a fur ball. Our naturalist was very knowledgeable and helped us see so many birds and animals we would normally not have seen. We even saw a peacock courtship dance in our way out. Very enjoyable and memorable experience!

Beautiful

It was the great time! It’s usually tough to spot leopards in the wild as they are shy animals but Jalana is the best place to spot these predators as they are the apex predators in the park. We spotted 3 leopards, Jelebi, Chanda & Rana and a number of other wild animals. The safari was an amazing experience, easy to book, committed drivers and a well organised session. It’s truly a beautiful place and I ended up meeting not just the spotted predators but also some lovely people on my safari. I would recommend this place to everyone visiting Jaipur.
