My husband and I enjoyed the food tour of Jaco. Josue was very personable, accommodating, and an excellent guide. This was our first visit to Costa Rica and he shared a lot of interesting information about the Costa Rican culture. We’ve been on many food tours and we always like to try a food we’ve never had before. This tour did not disappoint. We highly recommend Josue!

Very Authentic

Very knowledgeable and tasted some very unique and authentic foods/drinks. The tour was the perfect amount of time and he even told us the history of the city.

Food tour in Jaco

Excellent tour of Jaco with great food and drinks. Josue was an excellent guide. He gave us some interesting history information and pointed out some beautiful artwork and other local gems. He was friendly and fun and we would highly recommend this tour. It was one of the highlights of our trip.

Culinary & History Food Tour in the Heart of Jaco

Although we are a family of 4 that loves food, this was our visit official ever food tour. We took this tour with Josue on the day we arrived into Jaco. Not only was it a great way to learn about authentic Costa Rician food, it was also a nice way to learn about the layout of the city and a lot about the history of Jaco. The food tour included a variety of different items and drinks at different venues. Josue's English is very good and he went out of his way to make sure that everyone was included and having a good time.

Great food tour in Jaco.

Josue was our guide. I throughly enjoyed the food and the tour. He did a great job explaining the dishes and some different cultural points.

Delicious fun & informative

Josue was very friendly & informative about Costa Rica & Jaco, he is very invested in the history of the area which we found very interesting to learn about. The food on the tour was delicious and we were introduced to new drinks that we liked!

If you visit Jaco, this tour is a must-do

Josue was an extremely friendly and accommodating tour guide. He took the group around the streets of Jaco and told us a lot about the culture and history of the city as well as the food. Everything we ate was delicious too! I was worried that it might be too much food for someone with a smaller appetite like me, but it was really well paced, with light dishes to start. Nothing felt like too much.

Great Food Tour!!

We had so much fun with Josue. He was knowledgeable about Jaco's history and the history behind the foods we were eating. It was an enjoyable experience. We wished we would have went on this tour in the beginning of our trip opposed to the end of the trip. Thank you Josue for everything!!

Hidden gems of Jaco

Josue was an excellent guide, the food was great. The added bonus was the historical knowledge of the area and country as we walked to each location. We highly recommend ❤️

Jaco Food Tour

We took the food tour of Jaco on Christmas Eve. Josue was our guide and he was fantastic. His knowledge of Jaco and Costa Rican food, culture and history was the highlight of the tour. The food options were good and will be enjoyable if you have the right expectations. This is not a tour of 4 star restaurants with a sampling of main dishes . It is a tour of mostly local street food venders, a local bar and one ocean front restaurant and the food is basically appetizers. My opinion is the guide is a 10/10 and the food was a 7/10 based on the price point

High quality taste of Costa Rica!

This tour was excellent. Josue was professional and intelligent and gave us an inside look at Jaco that allowed us to taste unique Costa Rican foods that we would have never known about any other way. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour because of it’s emphasis on local food (not touristy).

A Taste of Jaco 😋

This was the perfect Taste of Jaco! Venues were all a comfortable walking distance and in different parts of the city. The time spent at each location was great and a little history rounded it out!

Book this! The Original food tour in Jaco!

Highly recommended everyone books this tour! This is the original and best food tour in Jaco! All the other ones are knockoffs. Knowledge I obtained on this tour is extensive and in depth you wouldn’t get this anywhere else. Josue is personable and really fun and easy to talk with, his English is very good! The ceviche in a bag was my favorite, wish I in school instead of Fritos in bag 😆. Pura vida 🤙

Exceptional Food Tour!

Outstanding tour! Josue was very knowledgeable and detailed. We love the fact the foods and drinks were of local origin and Josue explained the history of each one. The drinks and foods were very delicious. Highly, highly recommend this tour…you will not be disappointed!

Local experience, great fun

The food tour was a great was to explore Jaco our first full day in the town! Josue was an awesome guide! Friendly and knowledgeable! We’ve never had Costa Rican food before so it was the perfect introduction

Great Experience with both food and drink.

This was awesome! We were recommended to do this tour from another family staying at the same resort nearby. They raved about it and the food and culture tour was even better than expected! Josue was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. He showed us around town, walked us through a local farmers market, and took us to the beach, all while describing local culture and stopping to try various cultural foods. We had a few drinks along the way, too. We had a blast! Would highly recommend!

Best Food Tour

This is a 5 star not to be missed experience. Josue, took us to 4 different restaurants in Jaco to taste traditional Costa Rican food and drink. We also walked along the beach at sunset and got to see some of the famous murals of Jaco. The food was nothing other than fabulous. Josue, told us the history of each dish we had as well as his personal connection to it. We started with a delightful Costa Rican type of pancake called chorreada that is made with a corn batter. It was stuffed with cheese and served with sour cream. We also had a very unique twist on ceviche. It was served in a bag of chips, called caldosa, my favorite. Among other dishes, we were treated to the traditional chiliguaro shot. The lore is very interesting, as is the shot - spicy. We ended with a very unique ice cream dessert called the Churchill. Josue was very giving of himself and made us feel immersed in the Costa Rican culture. He tailored the tour to our desires and needs, never missing a beat. I felt like I was strolling town with a good friend. My only advice besides doing this tour is come hungry! There may be other food tours, but this is the one to take. I will definitely be contacting Josue on my next visit to curate a personal tour.

Great start to our first time in Costa Rica

Josue was very personable and educated on the area and culture. It was great having someone who knew the area so well to show us around to authentic Costa Rican cuisine. 10/10 recommend

The views were incredible. I took so many pictures. We walked the beach and I got a incredible view of the sunset. My very first day in Costa Rica. The tour guide Josue was so knowledgeable about the history of Costa Rica . We went to five places and every single place was delicious! My favorite was the seafood soup and the pinto beans with rice ! The dessert was very good also! I had three amazing drinks. The views, the guide, everything was fantastic. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!!!! Make sure u put this on your to do list in Costa Rica !!

Jaco food tour

Josue was a great tour guide. We tried amazing food, and learned about Costa Rica culture and met some great locals. The food pics was delicious. We were a big group and Josue was very patient and welcoming. 10/10.

See and taste Jaco through the eyes of a local

The food stops were absolutely amazing. Love that they were locally owned and operated. And make sure to ask Josue for the shellfish soup. I'm in the food business, and that was the best soup I've ever had. My lady is an artist, and he managed to show us lovely street art while walking between the food stops. If you add in The Amazing cocktails, this was a fabulous can't miss tour

Highlight of the week - Food tour helped to make up for the terrible weather!

Great food and drink tour!! The food choices were authentic to the region. Would never have ordered them on my own. The tour was a great value for all the different foods and drinks we were given. The host was very knowledgeable of Jaco and CR in general. One of the highlights of our week, I would definitely recommend .

Not so typical food or company

There aren’t a ton of options for things to do in the rain, which is funny seeing as how much it rains here. This is a GREAT option if you want to get a “taste” of authentic Costa Rica. Josue is a kind and personable host. He will tell you everything you didn’t know you didn’t know about Jaco. He’s also just a cool guy who is open to interesting conversations. The food itself is delicious, and it’s so much fun to bounce around with someone who knows just what to order. This is a great way to spend your evening, and definitely more fun than just picking a random restaurant based on star ratings. Josue provides a memorable experience that goes beyond dinner. Great value, great times. Thanks, Josue!

A new side of Jaco

This was a terrific tour! Josue is a great guide and showed us a side of Jaco we had never seen, though we've been here a few times before. The food and drink was excellent and the restaurants were all new to us, and he recommended several things to do and places to shop during the rest of our vacation.I would highly recommend this tour, mainly because Josue is such a great guide.

Great Experience

Josue Took us some amazing places. It was about 2 miles to do the tour, and Josue was very educated and knowledgeable about Costa Rica. He explained a lot about the food as well as the artwork that we were seeing on buildings. I would definitely do this tour again!

great food and great company on tour

our guide josue was very kind and friendly and knowledgeable about the food. he even told us some history of jaco whilst we were walking between food spots and he has many other stories to tell too. we stopped off at quite a few places and the tour includes drinks too. josue even had umbrellas for us as it was raining hard which i thought was very thoughtful. i recommend this tour alot!

Fantastic Food and Culture Tour

Fantastic Food and Culture Tour with the very friendly Josue, who speaks perfect english and of course spanish. He is from Costa Rica, knows alot and is also interrested in your personal culture and country. He cared much about my gluten allergy (glutenfree food) and also vegetarian options if prefered.

Fun food tour!

One of the best food tours I have ever done!! Josue was a wonderful guide with lots of local history knowledge. The food was delicious and the servings were large. You will finish this tour full! The tour was a full and fun 3 1/2 hours. If you visit Jaco this food tour is a must do!!
