Monkey, Crocodile, Sloths & Beach Experience

Guides were friendly, informative and knowledgeable. We also saw green and black Iguanas, basilisks and a variety of birds.

Great experience!!!

We had a great tour with Geriold visiting the monkeys, crocodile bridge and beach. He made sure every detail was taken care of and was very knowledgeable. When we visited the monkeys, he educated our kids on how to be around the monkeys to keep them safe and they had an awesome experience with them. When another tour group showed up after us, their tour guide did not have the same method and the monkeys became very wound up quickly and it didn’t seem like they were having nearly as good (or safe) of an experience. The trips to the crocodile bridge and beach were great as well. We saw a sloth with a baby, more monkeys, a makaws. I highly recommend this tour with Geriold if you’re looking for an excursion while in Jaco!

The best guide

This tour was so great! Just as described in the information and very organized. Geirold was extremely knowledgable about the animals and set a tone of respect and care. He clearly cares deeply about helping and welcoming the guest to Costa Rica. We had a blast and will always book his tours. Thank you !!!!

AMAZING MONKEY visit, dragged on with other parts

AMAZING visit to the Monkey house where we got to interact with the monkeys, they even jumped on us - both on their own and to get fruit from us. A highlight for sure. But after that portion, the tour dragged a bit with a less interesting view of crocodiles, a long lunch and a strike out finding sloths (not surprising given they are nocturnal) A really pretty beach stop in Jaco beach at the end.

Monkeys are cool but tour lacking

The monkeys were fun but it was not a natural habitat, seemed like a family’s backyard that was in very bad disrepair. Lot of trash, broken down, filthy. Toilet was worse than any gas station bathroom I’ve been to. The crocodiles were interesting, lunch was delish and plentiful. We didn’t see any sloths, which was expected, but the beach was lovely. No place to change though, so if you want to swim I recommend wearing your suit and expecting to ride back to final destination wet (very short ride).

Definitely recommend this trip! Observing the monkeys in their natural environment was incredible. Our guides, Geriold and Jose, were awesome and we learned so much about the animals. I could have sat and watched them all day. The crocodile bridge was also interesting and we had a wonderful lunch. And we felt very lucky to have seen a sloth. Geriold searched very hard to find one of these elusive creatures. Overall a great day!

An exceptionnel day!

It was an amazing day!! We saw Momkeys, crocodiles and sloths. We were guided trough the activity’s to get the best of each s site. The playa part was exceptional. Stanley was very funny he made the day a party day! Thanks a lot!

A fun low-key excursion from Jaco!

This was a fun excursion - the guides were great! Very knowledgeable about the animals and their environment. Despite the rain, they found a couple of sloths we would never have been able to spot on our own!

Monkey

Tour guides were very nice and friendly. Had lots of interesting facts about their home. Loved the monkey tour. We stopped by the crocodile bridge and had lunch at a buffet. Then we stopped by a beach and chilled out a bit they had snacks and fresh water.

A taste of Jaco Wildlife

A great experience. The tour guides were friendly and we felt safe with out two young kids, 8 & 5. We saw 2 grown sloths and a baby sloth near a beautiful beach about 30 mins from Jaco. Then we went to see the white faced monkeys. Because we entered their habitat, they did hop in us. A great experience! There were many monkeys including a handful of babies that rode their mother's backs. Following that we went to a bridge where we were able to spot a croc. The place we ate at had many options, as it was buffet style. We finished the tour at different beach with hermit crabs and beautiful views. I overall would recommend this tour. We learned so much and had great conversations with the tour guides. 10/10! Muchas gracias!

Our fave excursion of the trip!

This was hands down the favorite part of our whole trip! G. Is an excellent tour guide and the experience he provides is unique and feels VIP. I loved that it was a private tour. The lunch in the middle had our favorite food from the whole trip as well (get the empanada and smoothie- amaaazing) The monkeys and the crocodiles were the highlight of our whole trip, G provides a one of a kind experience. Thank you!

Great experience

Best tour on my vacation

This was an awesome experience! We interacted with monkeys, saw crocodiles up close, and were even lucky enough to see a sloth about 8 feet away. The guide did not rush us at all, was super nice and knowledgeable, and took us for a lovely lunch. I'd highly recommend this tour to anyone coming to the area.

Geriold is pure Gold!

Geriold is the jackpot when it comes to finding the best tour guide! We loved our monkey encounter, we saw crocs from the bridge, had a delicious buffet lunch and smoothie and we saw a little sloth curled up in the palm tree on the beach. (They are nocturnal so be understanding with this part, as we have learned to respect that we are observing them in their natural habitat and this part cannot be a guarantee.) We learned a lot, which we loved and part of that was that Geriold answered all our many questions. Our day with Geriold exceeded our expectations! What a wonderful experience to visit Costa Rica and see the beauty and wonder of this country with a guide who is so passionate and knowledgeable. It’s also very apparent that he has a huge heart for humanity and animals alike. You won’t find a better guide! 100 percent recommend this outting with Geriold! Thank you! We will be back! Geriold was the perfect guide on a perfect tour

Geriold was incredibly knowledgeable about Costa Rica and all the animals we were able to see during this tour. He was very friendly and made us feel like good friends during the tour. We loved how small the group was and felt that the intimate setting was perfect for getting to know Geriold as well as the other tour members. Highly recommend this experience if you're interested at all in seeing some animals of Costa Rica up close (especially the white faced monkeys). 5/5 experience and we're incredibly glad we got the chance to go on this tour.

I strongly recommend this tour with Geriold. We had so much fun with the monkeys and then we saw the crocodiles. We had a delicious lunch. Finally, we went to the white beach and saw a sloth bear. Geriold is extremely kind and hospitable. You will love it!!!

Wonderful experience!

Our guide, Gerald, was a great communicator from beginning to end. He answered all our questions and was so knowledgeable. The monkey experience was absolutely incredible. I never thought that we would be able to get so close to wild monkeys! The crocodile stop at the river along with the authentic food provided there were also excellent! Finally, the beautiful white sand beach completed the tour with seeing three sloths, multiple macaws, and unmatched views. Thank you! Thank you!

A fun day with a new friend!

This was such a special experience. Spending a morning with Geriold looking for animals felt like hanging out with a friend who wants to show you a good time. This adventure had an informal “homespun” feel that was perfect for us after a few much more structured excursions. He took us into a very small community at the edge of the jungle that’s helping watch over this monkey community, visited Tarcoles bridge where we saw 3 crocs, and then a delicious buffet lunch overlooking the river. Then we headed to a popular beach where sloths like to hang out in the palm trees. Geriold warned us we might not see any since the beach was busy that day but we saw two! One was a mom with a baby and we saw some really fascinating money/sloth dynamics up in the trees (hint: they aren’t friends). Thank you Geriold!

Best vacation activity

We are a group of 3 younger girls who haven’t visited this country before. Our guide immediately made us comfortable and we felt SO safe with him. He clearly had a deep love of his country and the wildlife. It was personally the BEST day of my life. Everything was gorgeous

Great guide and a great person

Geriold was great. Good communication and prompt. Took his time to explain many details and answered all questions in depth. He even went out of his way to ensure we got to see a momma Sloth and baby. Definitely recommend for a great monkey experience and knowledgeable guide.

The monkey experience was amazing and the beaches stopped at was beautiful! I’d absolutely recommend this experience to everyone.

Go play with the monkeys!

Our family had a blast playing with the monkeys. They jumped on our heads and jumped from person to person. One stayed on my sons head for a good 10 minutes. We took a bus about an hour north of Jaco to see the monkeys, then drove back towards Jaco to see the river with the crocs, then to the beach to see 2 sloths. Guides knew where to go to see the animals. Lunch was also provided. Overall a good experience and we made lots of new memories.

Amazing day with monkeys and crocs!

This was a fabulous tour and Geriold was an amazing guide. He is so knowledgeable about the area and we all truly enjoyed spending the day with him and learning more about Costa Rica. I recommend booking a morning tour so that you can play with the monkeys early.

The monkeys came down and eat the bananas that my daughter had. The alpha sat on shoulders a couple of times.

Checked every box

This tour was a highlight of our entire trip to Costa Rica. Our guide was amazing and so knowledgeable. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a chance to meet the Monkeys, see the crocodiles and find Sloths! We found a momma and her baby who were very active.. it was so cool!

Great Time

This was quite possibly the best decision we made was to take the excursion. Geirold was excellent and went out of his was to make sure we had a good time. If you are going to take an excursion this is the one.

Amazing guide and perfect tour

Our guide was amazing and this has been the highlight of our trip. The tour would have been worth it for the monkey sanctuary alone but our guide also took us to see sloths and crocodiles as well and taught us about them. The hidden beach was also a gem and a great way to close out the tour. My girlfriend and I have been talking about the monkeys all day since we saw them and I am so glad that we found this tour.

Magnificent! MUST DO!

Our guide was FANTASTIC! This tour is so special! Me and my boyfriend cannot stop talking about how much we loved it and how much we learned. Having the private experience with the guide allowed us to have intimate animal encounters and ask as many questions as we desired. The secret beach and monkey sanctuary (stops 2 and 4) were our favorite! The food along the way was delicious and everything felt worth the price, if not much, much, more! We had our own vehicle but it added some thrills to the experience. Our trip took a little over 4 hours including all the stop and driving to our destinations. Very, very scenic drive and many photo opportunities. It is clear this company cares greatly for the animals and the environment. It cannot be overstated how great this experience was! If you’re in Jaco or Herradura or anywhere near this area, PLEASE TAKE THIS TOUR!

Fun with monkeys

Geriold was excellent. Very knowledgeable and spoke great English. The monkeys were our favorite spot and the food at lunch was delicious.

This is worth every penny. Incredible experience! Geirold Arias Chavarría was our guide. He’s very knowledgeable and engaging. We saw everything as promised. You really do get to interact with the monkeys but they are still in the wild. Highly recommend.

Absolutely did not disappoint!!!

Geriold was a fantastic guide! He had great communication when we had questions beforehand and was right on time to start the day. You could tell how much he truly cared about all the animals and was very informative. The monkeys were an absolute treat and so playful. You could tell that they were happy and curious to meet us. The crocodiles were awesome and “Mike Tyson” the large male was absolutely huge. Lunch was great and Geriold even grabbed us some snacks on the way to the sloths. We were fortunate enough that we got to see 4! We never would have been able to spot them on our own so we were so thankful. Thank you sooo much!!! And if we ever come back we will absolutely book with him again.

A Definite Must on Your Visit to Jaco!

We were pleasantly surprised by how personable and courteous Geirold was from the time he picked us up at our hotel and throughout the whole tour. He was very informative and shared so much history of the culture and area. We had so much fun with the wild monkeys and were amazed at how friendly and curious they were! Geirold allowed us to spend plenty of time with them, and we got some amazing photos and videos! After the monkeys, we went on to see the crocodiles and got to view big Mike Tyson 🐊 at the shore of the river. The tour included a buffet style authentic meal and concluded with searching for sloths near the beach. Geirold made every effort to find two sloths sleeping high up in the trees! At the end of our trip we booked Geirold to drive us back to San Jose for our flight home and enjoyed talking with him during the long drive. We would definitely recommend Geirold for any future excursions in Costa Rica!

Morning full of adventure and animals

We had such an amazing morning getting up close to monkeys, looking at crocodiles and even searching and finding a sloth. Our guide was wonderful and kind and made this one of our favorite experiences in Costa Rica!

A wonderful afternoon in Costa Rica!

Geriold is the perfect tour guide! He is gracious and very responsive in his communication. He also has a wealth of knowledge about and a palpable respect for the local flora and fauna of Costa Rica. Observing capuchin monkeys in their natural habitat was something I’ve wanted to do forever. Not only did we see two different species of moneys, but we also saw a sloth on the beach and several crocodiles. A delicious local lunch, beautiful views, and learning about the local wildlife topped off the most enjoyable afternoon we’ve had so far on our trip. We will be back!

Family fun and great learning experience

This tour was fantastic, all in all a great day with great value. I arranged three excursions with Geirold during my week in Jaco, and all three of them were top notch. Geirold is a very hard working and intelligent person who goes all out to ensure his customers have a great experience. I really appreciated that the monkey village is run with the animals comfort in mind. They are living in basically the same way that they would in the wild.
