Nice trip | Few Animal sitings

My family and I had a lovely experience on this tour! Our tour guide was great and we were very well taken care of! We hoped to see much more animal life, however the weather did not cooperate and the animals did not come out as much as we hoped. The white face monkeys will come out to play at all times. They are sneaky so hold onto your belongings. I recommend this tour, but understand that the animal airings may be sparse.

We had a great day with Tyrone and his crew. We stayed near Jaco Beach so pick up and drop off was easy and convenient. The meals were very good, as were our drinks. The park itself is pretty interesting. The guides provided information I wouldn’t have known and their use of binoculars and telescope to see the animals up close is awesome! The beach time was incredible. Sneakers are best for the terrain. Highly recommend for solo, couples and families.

Great trip

We saw looooads of brilliant animals, and Jeremy was a fantastic guide. We also had breakfast included which was not listed when we booked but a pleasant surprise.

Easy trek to Manuel Antonio

Ronald was an excellent guide. We went on a rainy day and Ronald was still able to spot sloths, iguanas, snakes. Included breakfast and lunch were delicious. Van ride was comfortable. Humberto was a great driver.

Amazing day at Manuel Antonio

Our day at Manuel Antonio exceeded expectations because of our tour guide Jeremy! His keen ability to spot the animals in the rain forest was amazing. We had a perfect day and found all of the animals we had hoped to see and even more. The beach was gorgeous and thoroughly enjoyed our one hour there after the walk through the parque. Our entire day from pickup to return was excellent.

Wonderful experience

This tour was amazing. Jeremy, our guide, was very knowledgeable and took great pictures of all of the animals we saw, which he shared with us at the end. We saw sloths, howler monkeys and various birds and lizards. I learned so much and throughly enjoyed this tour!

A must for Manuel Antonio!

SUCH A FUN EXPERIENCE! Our tour guide, Warner, was an excellent guide! He knew so much about the park and was able to show us so many different animals that we would not have seen without him. If you’re going to Manuel Antonio, I would 100% recommend going with this tour company. We saw sloths, monkeys, different birds (parrots), and an anteater all thanks to our tour guide! They also offer breakfast and lunch with the tour. Very pleased!

A great day!

Manuel Antonio National Park was great, but without our guide Sylvia, it would not have been near as memorable! She was phenomenal! She was extremely knowledgeable about everything in the park and made a point to engage the entire group! We saw many more animals than we expected and closer than expected, thanks to Sylvia's scope. Definitely a must do!

Must do!!!!

This was one of the coolest things I have ever done. Seeing all of the wildlife in their natural habitat was so special. Our tour guide Carla was absolutely amazing and so knowledgeable. The beach at the end is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. The “hike” is more of a walking path that is pretty much flat, but it is a decent length. I do recommend bringing a change of clothes for the way back if you decide to swim and don’t want to be wet the rest of the day.

Fun tour!

Sloths, frogs, monkeys, lizards, iguanas, macaws, and a beach! Very knowledgeable guide Sylvia, made it very fun! My teen/tween enjoyed it. The food for breakfast and lunch was authentic although there is no juice, just water and ice tea.

Avoid TOUCANES Tours for your fun in Costa Rica.

Would have rated a 0 if possible. I’m sure the park would have been lovely based on all the stories we have heard and pictures we have seen. That said, if you want to make sure you get to experience it for yourself, DON”T BOOK WITH TOUCANES TOURS. They communicated multiple times prior to the trip, charged our card 48 hours out, and then failed to show up for our scheduled 6:30AM pick up time. We stood on the side of the road starting at 6:20am waiting for them. After nearly 45 minutes of waiting we called them only to find out they were sorry but weren’t coming……. Too many other tour operators offering this trip to Manuel Antonio to risk having this happen to you and your family.

Our guide was very...

Our guide was very knowledgeable and had a keen eye for finding animals in the rainforest. He took pictures of the animals using a special telescope that was able to capture each animal close up. He was suppose to send the pictures to each person in the group but we have not received anything. I’m hoping we do in the near future.

A beautiful experience

My husband and I had a wonderful time. We had two amazing tour guides Alexis and Jeremy. So thankful for their knowledge, expertise and witty humor. The best part is seeing these beautiful creatures in their own habitat. And SO many capuchin monkeys....what a dream.

We loved experiencing this national park tour

Our guides were excellent; we really enjoyed the tour. We saw about a dozen interesting animals, birds, and insects. On the way back, they sent us good-quality images of what we saw that day through airdrop. We spent time at a lovely beach where the water was so refreshing because of the heat that day. We also got both breakfast and lunch, which was wonderful too.

Manuel Antonio Park

Our guide was great at finding animals along the trail and helping us get amazing photos. The transportation was comfortable and it was nice to have both breakfast and lunch provided.

Stunning natural beauty and informative tour!

Our driver Oscar and guide Ronald were fabulous! The trail was mostly flat. There is an incline near the beach, and part of the trail is in sand, but it was overall an easy walk. We realized very quickly that we could have walked through the park and not seen even half of the animals that Ronald located and pointed out to us. The animals are designed to blend in to their environment and are sometimes to far away, high in the canopy, that it's almost impossible to spot them unless you know what you're looking for and have the right equipment. Ronald showed us such a variety of animals with his scope, from a dragonfly and lizards, to monkeys and sloths. The transport was comfy and was very accommodating, picking us up right in front of our VRBO. We stopped for restrooms and a yummy breakfast at Tucanes' restaurant and market and then on to the park. The park will not allow food or plastic water bottles, or any type of weapons or mace, so leave those things at home. We took stainless water bottles and that worked well; there are fountains in the park in a few places also. Manuel Antonio beach where we swam was gorgeous! It was also a welcome break from the heat. We continued on the path out of the park and saw two other beautiful beaches and some very unafraid white-face capuchin monkeys. (This is part of the reason food is not allowed in the park.) There are many vendors outside the park; if you're inclined, take a few dollars to enjoy a fresh coconut water right out of the coconut. We headed back to Tucanes' restaurant for a tasty lunch. Some of the guys enjoyed a beer; I had a pina colada and did some shopping in the gift shop. When we arrived back at our condo, we were delightfully exhausted. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone!

Great Experience

Tyrone was so knowledgeable and you could really tell he loves what he does. He had so many facts to share about everything we drove and walked by we learned so much! Couldn't have had a better experience.

Well-run and fun tour!

The trip basically goes exactly how it’s described. Picked up from our hotel in a comfy air-conditioned shuttle bus (Jaco and MA are hot and humid!). Picked up more people from 2 other spots. Stopped by the tour company’s restaurant for breakfast, then we were at MA, stopping once to see some sloths (they’re in the tree tops so the guides have telescopes to see them better). I had read it would be crowded during the holidays, but we didn’t wait much at all which I’m assuming was because the guides knew how to be efficient. And we didn’t have to deal with the tickets or parking. Spent about 2.5 hours in the park, saw all the animals in the description, and spent about 45 min at the beach. Then back in the shuttle bus, stopped by the same spot for lunch, and back at our hotel by mid-afternoon. All in all, would definitely recommend this company if you’re considering an MA tour. On time, efficient, food was good, small group (8 people total). Our guide, Allan (sp? sorry!) was awesome. Knowledgeable, patient, considerate. Gave special attention to my kids.

Worth it

Great tour. They even included free breakfast even though it wasn’t advertised. The tour itself is an easy but hot walk. But got to see a few sloths and monkeys. The guide was very knowledgeable. Also the swimming was in calm waters. Best of all this was cheaper then going through our travel company.

Sloths, Monkees oh my

The best part was seeing the sloths and white faced Monkees. A wonderful day. Everything was perfect. There were 9 in our party and everyone enjoyed themselves. Exhausted when we got back home but worth it

Awesome walking tour of park! Lots to see!

This trip was awesome! We took a walking tour (about 2 miles of flat trails) of the park and saw spider monkeys, howler monkeys, sloths, different kinds of lizards, birds, crabs, insects and other animals. Our guide was Beto who was extremely knowledgable about the animals and Costa Rica in general. He had a fantastic telescope which allowed us to see the animals up close. He even took pictures for us with our cameras! He tailored our tour based on what we wanted and did a fantastic job! I would definitely recommend him for any tour. We were picked up at our condo in Jaco and transported in a comfortable, air conditioned van to a customary Costa Rican breakfast. We then went to the park, stopping once to see sloths. After our tour was over we were given a traditional Costa Rican lunch which was delicious. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to learn more about Costa Rica!

Sloths and more!

My top goal on Costa Rica trip was to see sloths and howler monkeys...✅️. Our guide Alexis was fantastic...knowledgeable and patient with a ton of questions. This excursion was by far the best experience on a all around great friends' trip!

Best Tour Guide Ever.

The beauty of this place is amazing. The service of the Tour Company is excellent BUT what made the difference was our Tour Guide. Her name is Maria Jose. She is a very experienced beautiful young lady. Her knowledge about Costa Rica history, flora and fauna was impressive. She is very patience, polite, professional and her treatment with our family was above and beyond superior. I can assure that our Maria Jose has been the best Tour Guide we ever had. Congratulations to Tucanes Tour for having such special and professional lady on their staff.

The tour was informative, and Jeremy was an excellent guide. We spotted 2 species of sloths, several monkeys, crabs, hummingbirds, lizards, geckos, a deer, leaf cutter ants, spiders and much more. The breakfast and lunch was simple, local, organic and flavorful! This tour to Manuel Antonio is a must do.

Great day

Wonderful experience with Tucanes Tours. They picked us up in Jaco in a nice van, fed us breakfast and lunch at their very nice, clean facility. Maria led our tour. She was very enthusiastic. We spotted many sloths, capuchin monkeys, lizards, and iguanas. Time was allowed for swimming at the beautiful beach. All in all a great way to spend a day!

Amazing day in Manuel Antonio Park!

Such an amazing day in Manual Antonio! Our guides Alan and Carla were awesome! Alan found a sloth even before we entered the park. It was so nice how they took pictures on our phones through the scopes so that we could get some up close pictures of the animals. Breakfast and lunch were very tasty. Highly recommend this tour.

Hike through Manuel Antonio park

Our guide Alan was amazing. He took us on a 3hr tour in Manuel Antonio and he even stopped before entering the park to show us sloth and other wildlife on the way through town to the park. He is very knowledgeable about all of the resident species from tiny tadpole eggs to the sloth and monkeys and we saw both types of sloth. Definitely ask for him.

Having fun and learning in Manuel Antonio

The trip was flawless from start to finish. Tucanes pick us up at our condo and we let our guide (Alan) for Manuel Antonio. Alan was incredible. Before we even entered the school ark we saw a sloth and monkeys. Things got even better when we enter the National Park. Our guide found so much (howlers, white face monkeys, two and three toed sloths, a spider that spin a 3D web, iguanas, and so much more). The level of detail was awesome. Mucho Gusto Alan!!!

We loved this excursion… Henry was so kind and insightful about Costa Rica and it’s wildlife!! The headquarters where we went for breakfast and lunch was very clean and organized with amazing service. The food…was DELICIOUS!! Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience at Manuel Antonio. Our guide Danny was extremely knowledgeable. Danny was very informative about CR, its history, and the region. During the drive to the park he spotted McCaws and Jorge, the driver, spotted a Sloth. Once in the park, Danny amazed us with his ability to spot wildlife. He shared his knowledge and passion for the environment. Danny let the group view the wildlife through his spotting lens, and then took pictures with everyone's cameras so we would have memories to share. He explained many insights about the park and wildlife. The hour at the the beach in the middle of the park was a nice relaxing break during the trip. We highly recommend the tour, a novice would miss out on so much without an expert guide like Danny.

Not the best experience

This tour had the potential to be an amazing day trip, but unfortunately we had a terrible tour guide with us (a woman named Sylvia). She was rude, unprofessional and made inappropriate comments several times. I have worked as a tour guide for several years and Sylvia seemed to lack basic training and protocol. In smaller tours like this one, the tour guide plays a really important role in shaping your trip and we got unlucky. Other than that, the itinerary was good, the park was beautiful and the food served was delicious!

Eli Made this the best tour ever

MA is a beautiful park with lost of flora and fauna, BUT, unless you have a guide, you will miss most of the birds and other animals like sloths for sure. Our guide from Toucanes Tours was amazing. He tuned in immediately to our knowledge base and explained in detail about the evolution of the animals and plants. He further described the many relationships these organisms have with each other and then he explained about the geology of the area. His ability to spot sloths in the trees was amazing. He would then set up his spotting scopes for all to see and used it to take amazing pics for us all using our iPhones against the scope. Eli, and his driver Rebecca, were a wonderful team and made the day one of the highlights of all our many trips. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

We were well taken care of

Wonderful guide and driver. We were picked up at hotel on time and everything was taken care of. Very friendly and knowledgeable guide. The sloths! Hummingbird nest! Spiny palm tree! Land crab (I am not kidding!). And the beach is beautiful for swimming.

Amazing tour, worth the trip.

The tour guides were so knowledgeable and passionate. Random questions they were able to answer. I would not have seen any of the animals without them. Food provided was great and cost was worth it. Please tip, they deserve it.

Amazing experience with helpful guides!

My friend and I did this excursion and it was an amazing day! Our nature guide Sylvia was great! She was very helpful and educated on the different species and the park. We saw so many cool animals, and she was extremely helpful with taking the pictures through the scope for us and keeping us interested the whole excursion, thank you Sylvia!

Amazing Experience at Manuel Antonio

A MUST do if traveling to Costa Rica. Our guide Geiner was amazing to spot all wildlife! Our driver Pedro was extremely friendly. Highly recommended. Great memories and photos!

Excelenet tour

Excelent tour, well organised (we were only two in this day). We saw many animals and even moving sloth which is very rare. We had some time for sunbathing and swimming on one of the most bueatiful beach I have ever visited. Our tour guide Danny and the the driver Pedro were very polite and friendly. Danny was very informative and we learnt much aboutanimals life. Highly recommended. Costa Rica is awesome country. Pura Vida !!!

Excellent Tour!!

We had a group of 28 people in Jaco and we were picked up for our tour of Manuel Antonio. The vans were in excellent condition and both our drivers were great. We stopped for a quick breakfast on the drive to the park which was good. Once in the park, we were split in to 3 smaller groups which allowed for a more personal tour. Our guide, Fabian, was a great guide! He took the time to educate us on the park and the animals, but was also good about moving us along. He was very knowledgeable and you could tell he loves his job. We were able to see several sloths, monkeys and a variety of other species. After the tour we spent time at the beach and then enjoyed a lunch they set up for us which was delicious. At the end of the day, they returned us to our hotel with a couple stops to be tourists. This is a tour I would recommend to anyone traveling to Manuel Antonio.

Amazing Manuel Antonio National Park Tour

We took the park tour yesterday with guide Daniel and it was excellent. Do NOT take this tour without a guide or you will see nothing but monkeys. Thanks to Daniel and his scope, we saw numerous sloths, spiders, monkeys, lizards, bats and lots of other animals. Amazing place and the remote beach is fantastic. Highly recommend this tour which includes pick up and drop off right at our condo, plus breakfast and lunch.

We had a great time and made some awesome memories, our tour guide was Camilo and he was the best guide, very friendly and lots of jokes. He has a wealth of knowledge about Costa Rica ecology, culture, and history and we enjoyed learning every bit of it.

Definitely worth the tour guide, transportation isn't great

We were so glad we had a fantastic tour guide, Diane. So kind and nice and she helped us see SO MANY animals we would have missed if she didn't show us. She found for us blue crabs, sloths, a few kinds of lizards, and more. We also saw monkeys, crabs on the beach, a raccoon, and more. But the car to the park from our hotel took 3 hours each way. It was still worth it, but expect to be on the bus no less than 1.5 hours each way. The travel could have also been coordinated way better.

Amazing!

A wonderful and informative visit! Highlights including incredible views of Sloths, Monkeys, as well as beautiful vegetation. Daniel Boloños Murillo is a Naturalist Guide we had the pleasure of being with for both this event and a kayaking event. He is truly amazing! Both his knowledge and his just friendly nature were highlights of our trip! The company (Tucanes Tours) provides delicious meals as well!
