Tour guide had extensive knowledge of area. Saw many crocodiles and tons of birds. Went to Pacific as well as River. It rained hard even in dry season

Phenomenal views of alligators in addition to many bird species. Guide was very good about pointing out birds and details of their life cycles. 2 hours was a little long for our 2-yr-old but a great afternoon. Boats run frequently.

Great excursion. The 3:30...

Great excursion. The 3:30 tour was fantastic; especially because we were able to capture an amazing sunset at the end of the tour. Plenty of crocodiles and birds to see.

Great time

We had a great time with guide Gustavo! We saw crocodiles and birds throughout the cruise. Gustavo was very funny and knew his facts well. The gift shop there also has a lot of great things, along with clean bathrooms.

We loved this tour. The guides knew exactly where the crocodiles would be and for us as close as possible. We saw lots of unique birds as well. It was great for our family with three kids ages 7, 5, and 3. They loved it!

Totally worth it

This tour was amazing. The guide was so knowledgeable and the captain got us within 3 feet of a huge crocodile. I would do it again tomorrow if I could.

Great tour with friendly staff

Had a great experience. Did the 8:30am tour and there was only 3 of us. Saw lots of birds and crocodiles and one crocodile came really close to the boat. Was amazing. I recommend

Amazing Crocodile Tour

The tour was amazing! My tour guide was super friendly and funny and I learned so much about crocodiles. I never expected to see them up so close and there were so many of them! I was blown away. Afterwards, I even got a ride back to the bus station. I highly recommend it, especially since they’re one of the cheapest if you book directly through their website.

Fascinating and Fun Tour

I had always wanted to do a crocodile tour but I’m handicapped and need help getting around.. Jungle Crocodiles Tours was extremely gracious and accommodating and provided a wheelchair to the boat. Our tour guide, Gustavo was a joy. We were amazed at his ability to spot birds and identify them on our bird guide. We learned a lot and saw a variety of birds including Red McCaws. Best of all we saw a mother crocodile and her babies. Gustavo was outstanding at finding crocodiles and they slowed the boat snd steered so we were able to get great photos. The passion of 5he staff was infectious and I highly recommend this tour.

private crocodile tour

If you can i recommend doing this tour solo! i was a solo traveler and i had a blast on this tour!! it was my first time ever seeing a crocodile, the experience i had on this tour was my favorite! my tour guide was funny, knowledgeable, and made me feel safe!…highly recommended this tour !

10/10 would do it again! It was a fun experience, the big crocodiles come up really close to the boats. The guide, Gustavo was very knowledgeable on the birds and local crocodiles.

Way better than we expected!

Amazing tour. Absolutely better than advertised! Our guide Hansel was super knowledgeable and we saw at least four crocodiles as well as numerous cool birds. But what stood out was the extraordinary scenery. It was unique and stunning. We’re so glad we took this tour!

Great close-up croc tour!

Such a fun activity for our last day to break up some travel! Our guide was great and knew a ton about the crocs and birds we saw. We were in a really small group and asked a lot of questions, and he was able to spot a ton of crocs, big and small! If you like birds, this is also a great activity because there’s a ton of ones on the river and they give you a really nice little guidebook to refer to. We were concerned about the polluted water, but our guide mentioned that they had large volunteer crews that would clean up the trash a few times a month, which was great to hear that they make an active effort to clean and maintain the river. Would definitely recommend!

Lots of crocs and beautiful birds

Great family oriented experience!

Steven was a great guide. He was so kind and accommodating to my 4 year old daughter who insisted on assisting with the tour and identifying all the birds. The area was beautiful and we definitely saw crocodiles! This was one of the more enjoyable experiences we had in the Jaco area.

Great trip

The whole experience was great. They stayed in touch with me to adjust the schedule to the weather conditions, pointed out lots of crocodiles and birds and lots of interesting information. Our tour guide, Steven, I think was friendly and knowledgeable and the skipper was good too. They were also clearly environmentally aware and responsible towards the fauna.

Lots of wildlife!

One of the best tours we had during our stay in Costa Rica. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly. We saw many birds, some of them we only saw on this particular trip during our 3 weeks holiday. Of course we some impressive crocodiles too. We even saw a mother crocodile with her tiny babies.

Lots of wildlife

My wife and I took the tour with Gustavo. He was friendly and knowledgeable about all the wildlife and answered any questions along the way. The tour moved at a good pace and we saw many crocodiles and birds up close.

Crocs Crocs and more Crocs

We stopped here on our way back to San Jose on our Caravan tour. We had a okay pretty typical Costa Rican lunch and then went on the boat tour. It was great. Saw lots of different birds and a ton of crocs. Didn't see any monkeys but did see them on my other river cruise where we only got a fleeting view of a crocs. Nice guide and boat driver well worth it.

Beautiful birds

A lot of birds and a very close encounter with crocodiles which I loved! A nice relaxing ride. The guide they give for the birds is very helpful!

Crocodile rivers tour

Great guide, so knowledgeable. Pointed out so much wildlife we would have missed. Lots of birds, crocodiles, and some monkeys too.

Good and also scary

The tour was fantastic the guide knowledgeable and very pleasant the end was terrible when we realized uber wouldn't pick us up at the location and they couldn't make arrangements for us we needed up walking to nearest town in the dark fortunately met a fantastic person who arranged a ride back to Jaco very uncomfortable for two women to be left in that situation not impressed that it wasn't mentioned when booking that we should include transportation with tour.

Our experience with Jungle Crocodile and Birds

Punctual, easy access to boat, beverages available for free at gift shop, plenty of baños, knowledgeable guides, many species of birds identified at low tide, many crocs seen.

it was very fun and our guide was great. We saw many birds and crocodiles and even some very large turtles. And again our guide was great.

Professional and Grand tour of Carara

Our guide Ronald was amazing! He gave us a great 2 hour tour and then made it more than excellent by taking us to another section for another hour!!!! Don’t settle for the 2 hour version even though we saw fabulous trees and learned a great deal of information! We saw 3 types of Monkeys, many types of birds including McCaws. The final touch was the sloth! From the chat making the reservation to the help getting pictures through his telescope, the entire process was perfect!!!

Jungle Crocodile Safari

We had a great time on the Jungle Crocodile Safari & Bird Watching tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and kind. Facilities were wonderful.

Booked a private tour

Booked a private tour for the 4 of us (only $15 more per person than a group tour) and got to leave early (7:30 am) before other tours started. It was perfect. The birds are out early, the crocodiles were out on the banks in the sun to get warm. Our guide Juan Carlos was super. Great at spotting and great at explaining. The boats are covered, so sun is not an issue. Having the whole boat to ourselves meant we could move around in the seats to get better views and photos. A perfect tour! And we thoroughly enjoyed the large gift shop when we got back.

Good way to experience wildlife, they should care more about the wildlife and clean the environment.

Good way to see wildlife you would not be able to see out on your own. I was very disappointed by the amount of trash and wanted to pick it up myself. I would love to see more of the money made from the tours used to help preserve the river and ocean by daily clean up. The exhaust (which was very strong smelling) from the boats seems to be affecting the flora and fauna as well.

You’ll See A Few Crocodiles

All in all a nice outing and a way to get out of Jaco. I would not say it is an absolutely thrilling excursion…but if you want to see the native wildlife of this area in Costa Rica this is a great way to do that. I would recommend taking a snack or a drink with you on the boat. Bring sunglasses and a hat. Probably a long sleeve since you’ll be in the sun, even though the boats have a top. I’d recommend it.

Worth it!!

Lots of bird species- perfect for photography. Excellent guide. Highly recommend this trip. Now this app is asking me to write more so I’ll give feedback to the web folks to not force people to write more and be happy with what I wrote!!!

great bird watching

great knowledgeable tour guide who was open to answer questions and very friendly and attentive. we saw mostly juvenile crocs, and it was more of a bird tour but 1010 recommend.

Great Bird (and croc) Tour

We visited and toured with Caravan. This was an excellent excursion. Seeing the crocs was really something but this was all about the bird watching. The venue hands out printed charts with 61 different birds and as they are spotted calls them out so you can mark your chart if you choose to do so. I gets hot on the river so wear comfortable clothes, take sunglasses, and use sunscreen. Binoculars are helpful.
