ATV Tour in Jaco

Do not hesitate!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had a great experience with AXR Jaco! We were able to book on short notice in the week between Christmas and New Years, which was a surprise. Our group of four (two adults and two teenagers) rented two ATVs for a two hour tour with a guide. Our guide Alberto took us up into the mountains and we were able to stop at a few different places to take photos and switch drivers. It was the perfect combo of thrill seeking and still feeling safe. Splashing through mud puddles and crossing a river were some of the highlights! 10/10 recommend.

Amazing time in the rainforest

We had an amazing time during the four hour exterme rainforest tour. Pepe was our tour guide, and he was well versed in the history of the country and the area we traveled. We were the only vechile on the tour, so the experience was not delayed or rushed. During our time, we went to two waterfalls. One had a pool where we swam, an overlook that allowed us to see Manuel National Park Ocean and a restaurant in the mountains with delicious food and coffee. We sped through mud, rivers, dirt, and paved roads and went deep into the jungle. Our time and money were spent. I highly recommend this tour.

Atv buggy ride w/Patchy

Patchy (Pachito) was our guide and we had the time of our lives. The views were incredible and the trills were endless. We went all the up the mountains, hiked to a rainfall and took the atv buggy through the river. Patchy was very knowledgeable and lots of fun as well. Highly recommend 👍🏼

Great ride!

Second time with AXR and fantastic ride again. Pepe is great as guide. The experience is very organized and the ATV provided works for an experienced rider like me. Thanks for wonderful day and I plan to ride with AXR next time I come back to Costa Rica.

Absolutely amazing experience!!

AXR and our tour guide Pepe was the BEST PART of our Costa Rica tour. Pepe was genuine, personable, direct, transparent, and professional. He truly deserves a raise! We also did the horseback riding which was peaceful and healing. We appreciate AXR and one day hope to come back to Jaco for another tour!

The views are great!

Our tour guide was amazing! He was very clear on how to use the ATV and was very patient. Always making sure we were ok during the ride by giving a thumbs up! Took us to a nice spot waaaay up the top of the mountain where we had a snack. Pulled over to take some memorable pictures. All n all a great time!!!

ATV tours with friends

ATV tour with Carlos as a guide was awesome. We took two quads as there were eight of us and some did not want to drive. The road was very scenic and we stopped several times to take photos. The waterfall was beautiful and the hike to see it was very well laid out and safe. Next stop was to jump from a small cliff. The water was very refreshing in both spots. The restaurant on the mountain was so good and probably one of my favorite meals while in Jaco. If you take this tour, make sure you ask for Carlos.

Rainforest ATV Ride

WHAT A FREAKNG BLAST! We opted for the 3-hr. tour the through the forest and to the waterfall. Our tour consisted of 3 people: the guide, my husband and myself. I was quite surprised that they did not try to put us into a larger group. As such, the guide was very attentive to our needs and desires. Stops were as frequent as we wanted; the waterfall was an added delight, and the terrain ride thru fields and stream beds (wet and dry) was fantastic! When visiting the area, you should definitely make this a "MUST DO!" Our guide was wonderful, easy going and a pleasure to be with.

One of the best experiences of our lives!!!

This is by far one of the best tours I’ve ever done. The experience was beyond amazing and incredibly fun but what really made it the best was our tour guide Gabriel! He went above and beyond in showing us the warmth that the people in Costa Rica show to their guests. He catered to our individual wants by going out of his way to get a coconut that my 8 year old son had been looking for. He also pointed out tucans, macaws and a sloth that we wouldn’t have been experienced to spot (my request) and for my husband and 15 year old stepson he allowed them to be more extreme. If you are in this are of Costa Rica do not hesitate for a second to book your tour with them and ask for Gabriel! I promise you will have the time of your life!!!!

Predatory Business

Steven at the reception is a crook!!! He's apparently known for adding bogus "insurance related" costs for obscure fixes after your ride and skimming from the pot. I got charged for a scratch on the bottom of the ATV after an off roading adventure.....not sure how that works. When I said I wouldnt pay i was threatened with the law..Be careful when you go here. He's well known in the area for his schemes apparently.

Great experience! Newer equipment. Staff were great. Pack water, sunscreen and snacks for the ride. We had a 3 hour tour and stopped for a delicious meal on the hill top mountain before heading back. Try their homemade hot sauce!!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE AWFUL!

HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT!! DO NOT GO HERE! This company does terrible business and is not looking out for your best interest. I will never use this company again! AXR will charge you THOUSANDS of dollars in damages (unjustifiably). There are so many other places that offer the same tour that will not try to scam you. Do yourself a favor and book elsewhere, I wish we had!

Fun adventure.

Perfect Family Adventure

During our stay in CR our family of 50 year old parents and five twentysomthings ranked this as our favorite of our activies! Fransico was a great tour guy on our three hour adventure. He judged our individual skills quickly and made the trip both exilerating and safe!

Atv

The ATV tour was great, but the tour guide, Pachi, seemed a bit abrupt. The ATV's engine generated intense heat, nearly burning my legs. When I raised this concern, he simply stated that it was normal.Apart from that, the visit to Jaco Falls was incredibly adventurous and offered stunning views.

Highway to heaven!

If you're planning to do an excursion while you're in the Jaco, CR area, then look no further. You will absolutely love this experience. They have good English speaking guides as well. The best tour around!

The best!! First, very kind and welcoming reception.. kudos to those in the office. The 3 hour ATV experience was one of the most fun times I’ve had in CR. My guide, Henry, was super knowledgeable and fun! He judged my skill quite quickly and personalized my tour to such. He literally single handedly made the entire experience! Hats off to him! I will go back, I will try a different machine (maybe a dirtbike 👀), and I will ONLY allow Henry to be my guide. Go NOW and try for yourself! Pura Vida.

Fantastic experience!

Awesome 6 hr tour

Took the 6 hr ATV tour. Had a great time, got to see parts of CR that you don’t find near the beach. Great lunch up at a mountain restaurant and a cool waterfall swim. The ATVs were all in good shape and worked perfectly.

Amazing trip with Danny!

This experience was absolutely amazing! We did not have many expectations going in but were excited nonetheless. And once we got there, our expectations were exceeded. Our guide, Danny boy, was phenomenal. He did everything from picking us up at our hotel, to bring our guide, to then dropping us off. He was very charismatic and fun to be around. Plus an excellent photographer! If you have a chance to pick your guide, ask for Danny. An amazing experience and would definitely do it again.

Waterfall Tour was great and Henry our ATV Guide was the cherry on top!

Absolutely one of the best things we did on our family trip. Our ATV guide Henry was the best. Super nice and friendly. Kept us safe. Took good care of us. The thrill was second to none. It's been years since riding 4 wheelers and this didn't disappoint. I may have to go buy one when we get back home to Texas. I forgot how fun they are. Nevertheless, I highly recommend these guys and make sure you ask for Henry. He won't let you down. Oh yea, the waterfall was cool and refreshing and the restaurant up on the mountain had great food and drinks. A perfect midway stopping point to fuel up the body and finish out the second half of the tour. My 13 year old son can't stop talking about it!

AXR Jaco and Pachi!

We had a great trip. We rented 4, two seater quads. Our check in process was a little worrisome, but it all ended up great. It would be really nice if we could do all the paperwork online. There wasn't a ton, but would be cool to do it all online. The staff was fun from the beginning and the dogs greeted us with wags. Pachi was a great guide. He really took time to give us a great experience. He took lots of fun pictures for us, showd us cool sites and some wonderful critters. He really enjoyed showing us his country and all the unique things it has to offer. He went the extra mile for sure. He made the trip thrilling and spectacular. We saw areas of the countryside we never would have seen without the ride on the quads. He worked hard to find us a sloth, but they eluded us- hopefully next time! This adventure made our trip! Wish we could rent quads every day from AXR! Go for it and have a blast!

A must do while you are in Jaco !

Amazing trip. Highly recommended. ATV Tour stoped at a waterfall in the jungle with a natural pool. You could jump off the cliff if you dared.

Make sure you bring your own maps...

The machines were good, a little weak for 2 people, but overall they did the job. My only complaint was that when I booked they said they had maps of the trails and when we got there they did not, so that made things more challanging...

Great Waterfall Tour!

Our guide, Danny was the best. Took us to the waterfall and was patient with us in the hike. Took "million-dollar pictures" of our group and was very informative on the trip.

Adult family vacation

We enjoyed every part of this trip. A dip with a cool refreshing waterfall was especially great. Our guide was Danny, who was excellent. Besides he and his partner making sure that we knew how to drive, safety and fun was their highest priority. He also took great pictures and showed us some interesting “secrets” of the jungle. Be sure to wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty, your swimsuit under your clothes and maybe a pair of water shoes( there is a place to store them on the ATV) if you think you might go in the waterfall pool. This is one of the great adventures in Costa Rica..

Fantastic tour!

We did the half day tour February 1, 2023. We had the pleasure of spending half the day with our wonderful guide Gabriel. Gabriel is so knowledgeable and his English is perfect. He knows all about the area and Costa Rica. The tour is a lot of fun, the scenery breathtaking. The highlights of the tour are Jaco Falls, wear a swimsuit.it’s so refreshing and clean also the stop at the top of the hill little restaurant. Great food if you wish to purchase. Charming staff. AXR is a great company to deal with, helpful and professional staff. Thank you again Gabriel, you made our experience even more enjoyable and memorable. I highly recommend this company and this tour. We would do it again anytime.

Gabriel was a wonderful guide

We had a wonderful time touring the area around Jaco with Gabriel! He took us on a great tour, was full of lots of interesting info on the local animals, insects and waterfalls. Had a refreshing swim in a waterfall, great views of the country side, and a cold drink in a cool bar overlooking the hill and the ocean in the distance.

Outstanding experience with a beautiful view

Outstanding experience with Pachi doing the 3 hour ATV tours. This may have been the highlight of our trip. After taking a dip in the waterfall / natural pool, Pachi took us to an awesome spot at the top of the mountain. Local Costa Rican food and delicious drinks. Our guide was absolutely spectacular - super friendly, funny, and knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna. Only downside was that it rained a bit so the waterfall turned brown - but nothing you can do to alter nature! We had two singles and one double with a 9 yr old in tow - which worked great for us. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to rent ATVs.

TERRIBLE

This company will keep your deposit. do NOT trust them! They OVERCHARGE EVERYTHING. Told me they would take a $500 deposit & when ATV got Stuck, they charged me a $1000 deposit. BAD COMPANY BAD OWNERSHIP

Awesome Experience!

It’s hard to put into words how much we enjoyed our atv experience. We’ve done a couple of atv tours back home in the US and this FAR surpassed those previous trips. The trip starts out on the streets of Jaco which was actually cool itself, but once we hit the trails it was magical. The scenery, different terrains, the amazing vistas were all just incredible. Our stop at Jaco falls was so cool and having the chance to swim under the waterfall was awesome. After a few more miles we stopped for a quick bite at El Tajo which also had breathtaking views which stretched all the way to Tortuga Island. Also, this was no boring put put, we were able to get the machines ripping and return covered in mud, which was exactly what we were looking for!

Great experience!

This was a 3 hour activity which included stopping at a top-of-the-mountain local restaurant where the food was amazing! The guide was very nice, knowlegeable and friendly and the tour was both amazing and very safe. I would do itcagain!

Wild and Free

Up hills, down hills, riding through streams, seeing a beautiful scenery, I would do this everyday if I could. My boyfriend Mark and I felt like kids again! Thank you for this amazing experience!

Sour taste in my mouth

Unfortunately I can't say I had a good time on this tour as I feel I was tricked. On arrival we had to give a $500 deposit. The driver knew about our lack of experience driving and took us on an extremely dangerous route in less than favorable weather conditions. On our way back the route was very unsafe and very difficult to manage. He was speeding on ahead and out of sight on many occasions which was hard to keep up with, not to mention he was under the influence of pot. It was inevitable something bad would happen to me. My ATV skidded numerous times. I lost my entire deposit as they said i had caused more than the cost in damages. I thought this was extremely unfair for a few minor things such as a broken light. The damages would not cost anywhere near that back home in the USA. I wished I did my research first and chose another outlet. Jaco is a tourist area and they want to rip them off. Be careful!!! This business clearly makes a killing on events like this as they told me things like this happen all the time and mine wasn't even bad often people pay into the thousands for damages. For something so minor this really spoiled my trip and ruined my impression of CR pura vida what?!

Worth the expense

We had fun and we felt safe with our guide. Good tour. Saw beautiful vistas. The guide’s reaction to our tip howeve turned us way off and for that we would never use their services again. As soon as we gave him the money he stopped talking to us even if we were still getting our things together and getting our deposit back. He would not even answer our questions. Completely ignored us. This was not a cheap activity. They should be grateful for any amount of tip they get. Poor attitude.

Get ready to be ripped off

Trip was good - 7 of us on ATVs to the mountains and the waterfall, the guide was great. However on getting back to the office the rip off began - looking for $400 for “damage” to one of the ATVs. Left a very sour taste and we will never be back…..

Great fun

This place is the best. Great guides (Danny). Great prices and good equipment. Stayed at casa overlook so we had an amazing vacation all around.

Had Danny as a tour guide and he was awesome. You can tell he loves his job and it shows. Will do it again as long as we can get Danny.

Extreme Fun and Excitement!

Extreme Fun for the Family! Brought 2 teenagers on this tour. They had a blast. Rode in the mountains and on the beach. Henry was our guide and he made sure to keep the ride exciting! I definitely recommend this one!

Ridiculous Damage Charges

Look at the other reviews here. This place obviously has a horrible reputation for bilking unaware tourists for invented damage charges. It happened to me too. I wish I would have checked here first.
