We visited the Urquart Castle, cruised on the Loch Ness, stopped to see Glencoe, Fort William and the Hairy Coo … With the sun, Just a perfect Day 🤩

Experiencing Highlander Hospitality

What an incredible trip! The history of Scotland, while plagued by military loss, was enchanting to hear about. The natural scenery of abundant trees, magnificent mountains, and ever flowing lochs took my breath away. Not to mention, the “highlander hospitality” is very real, possibly even understated. From the locals in Fort William, to the folks over at Pitlochry, we could just feel the warmth and the authentic Scottish culture overflow. But the very cherry on top of this wonderful adventure was our tour guide Euan. His storytelling ability is second to none, fully immersing us in the Scottish culture and answering each and every question we had (and there was many). Euan made me and my mother feel very safe, and he was incredibly accommodating as well.

Best Tour ever

Excellent tour to see everything: Loch Ness, Castles, Villages, Highlands, Boatride, waterfalls etc! Very friendly tour guide and modern Bus

Fun but long day

We were happy we pre booked the castle and boat tour which are not included in the price but definitely worth it. Our guide Michael was informative and helpful making sure we got onto those extras easily. Sadly the cleaning crew didn’t clean the massive bird poops from the windows so the views were obstructed and trash was left on the van. There are several stops for snacks and toilets and you drive all around the entire loch. It was a warm day and the van’s AC was slow to work but we did enjoy the experience and our Michael’s info and courteous help.

Didn’t end up going on the tour. The description online listed it as a six hour tour, but in fact, it is an 8+ hour tour so we decided in the end not to go. Recommend the description be Changed to be congruent in all places where the description is listed

Unbelievable 2 day Tour!

This was a 2 day tour to the Highlands, Loch Ness and overnight in Inverness. Our driver was Lorna. She was absolutely amazing! She told us all about the entire history of Scotland with dates over 3000 years ago. She was so flexible with times and she kept us on time as well. Lorna is such a sweet guide and a very good driver as well. Take this tour with her if you can. It was truly amazing!

Amazing experience!

Will, the tour guide was very knowledgeable. I also appreciated the way he took ownership of the customers who had pre booked tickets for the castle visit and the Loch Ness cruise. There was a confusion at the venue but Will sorted it out. Overall very good experience.

It was ok

It was an average trip around Loch Ness. The listing is pretty deceptive though. Based on the description, I was under the impression the boat cruise was included when they say, “Cruise across Loch Ness”. This is not the case. You will drive around Loch Ness, and stop at a few sites, but that is all. The boat ride, and the castle tour are extra $ when you get there.

Interesting with One Disappointment

The tour guide Mike was good. Unfortunately there was some confusion when we got to Urquhart Castle. Although we prepaid for our ticket, they wouldn't take it at the Castle. We had to go back to the bus to get the tour guide to show the people at the Castle that we had prepaid. I think the tour guide should have known this. The ride through the Highlands was especially interesting.

A trip and views to remember!

A must tour to have. Incredible tour around Loch Ness with fun and knowledgeable tour guide Sandy! My family and I we had the most amazing time ever despite unpleasant weather - the sights we visited were beyond our initial expectations. Such a gorgeous land of Scotland, and Loch Ness itself was very impressive to see. Incredible castle is a must to visit for anyone. Highly recommend this tour with Sandy!

A great day out at Loch Ness

The whole day was exciting and memorable. Urquhart Castle was fun to explore in a stunning location. The falls at Invermoriston and Foyer were both fascinating and picturesque. We enjoyed a nice lunch at Fort Augustus watching the boats go through the locks. The whole of Loch Ness was so beautiful. Sandy, our tour guide, was great to listen to and very interesting. We had plenty of time st each spot to appreciate the beauty and history.

10/10 experience

My mother and I really enjoyed our day-trip to Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle. We had gone to the Isle of Skye with Timberbush the day before and liked it so much that we booked this one the following day. And again, everything was perfect! Hats off to our guide Liall Mackenzie - being able to hear stories from the Highlands from a true Highlander was such an amazing experience. He was so friendly, knowledgeable and a great driver. The cruise, the castle, the views...unforgettable. Thanks Liall and Timberbush! I'll be back soon and will sure be taking other tours with Timberbush.

Great day around Loch Ness

Sandy was a fantastic guide, he was very informative and took us to some amazing places. Loch Ness was beautiful but I particularly liked the hikes.

Wonderful day around Loch Ness

I had a wonderful time discovering the magnificent landscapes of the Highlands and around Loch Ness. The tour was perfect, and our guide, Liall, provided great explanations and historical perspectives. I loved it! Also, the cruise was lovely, and the visit of Urquhart was stunning. Plus, I really liked hiking a bit and seeing the beautiful mountains covered with fresh snow. Those are wonderful memories. Thank you again, Liall! I would definitely recommend it.

Beautiful tour

This tour was excellent, it was definitely more than I expected and a great value for money. Our guide Liall Mackenzie was very knowledgeable and kept us engaged with some fascinating stories. The itinerary was much richer than described on Viator and included a combination of everything, even a little hike through snow to the top of a hill with some magnificent views of the highlands. I would definitely recommend this tour!

Great way to spend a day!

Had a wonderful tour of Loch Ness with multiple stops that were all super interesting! Overall a wonderful way to spend a day in the Highlands. Jack was a wonderful guide who was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining!

Amazing tour and brilliant tour guide Alex

This tour was amazing and Alex, the tour guide, provided so much history and interesting facts during the drive. Urquhart Castle was beautiful, right on the shores of Loch News. And the town of Fort Augustus was very nice too. The Loch Ness cruise was well worth it as well, since they provide a lot of interesting history and information about the Loch and its famous monster, Nessie!

Beautiful memories in the Highlands

Stunning scenery and great locations are included in the tour. The fantastic guide (Jack) regaled with fun stories and has great information at hand on the various locations. He comfortably engaged with all of us, including a young child. The add-on attractions (Urquart Castle & the Loch Ness tour) are must-do’s. Was a day well spent in the Highlands - made us want to come back soon!

Exploring the rich history of Loch Ness

On a November day with Scottish weather, I explored the mysteries of Loch Ness the way the Scots would do. No, not by horse, but in a mini van. Our driver and guide Liall Mackenzie narrated the sceneries and cultural heritage in an informative and humouristic way. Did you know that the Loch Ness is so deep that it is impossible to send a camera down to observe what creatures dwell down there? And that reintroducing the Caledonian pine tree, native to Scotland, so far failed because deer eat the saplings? If you sign up for this tour, you will be amazed about the rich history of this famous part of Scotland. The open and welcoming attitude of Liall certainly added to the experience. He truly beamed with proud about his country, was ever willing to answer questions, and worked us through the day in an easy-going, calm manner. I look back fondly at this wonderful day.

Great way to see Loch Ness!

I’m not usually a group tour kind of person but this seemed like a great way to see the area without a car. It was that and more! Our tour guide Liall was awesome - informative, funny, and the perfect friendly personality for this job. (He also managed the twisty-turny roads with ease and played us Scottish music.) Each stop along the way was picture-perfect and there was plenty of walking. I also loved the size of the group - just 15 people which felt like it gave us some flexibility. Totally recommend!

Great Tour around Loch Ness

Really great tour around Loch Ness. Boat ride was cancelled due to weather and tour company were great with communication to this fact. Pick-up location was near train station and bus station. Our driver was great fun and interactive with us. Length of tour was good.

The Best Tour Guide

Excellent tour guide. Liall was informative and took us to great sites. He interacted with many of the passengers, making him very approachable.

Alpacas, highland cows and Nesse

We just finished our tour with Alex. He was a great guide and driver. The tour has plenty of lamdmarks and good places to go around. My only suggestion si to include both the first town and the castle. Everything else was great.

An amazing experience

This tour is a must do! Beautiful sites, and lots of knowledge from staff. My tour guide (Liall Mackenzie) was very helpful and brought us to some off the beaten path spots that I never would’ve known of if it wasn’t for the tour. He definitely made us all feel welcome and included. Highly recommend!

Excellent day tour

We went on the Loch Ness & The Highlands Tour which was an excellent all day tour. The driver Alex was very informative and had a wide knowledge of the Loch, the Highlands and the Scottish history connected to the area. Stopped at various locations in order to obtain memorable photo shots. When not commenting Alex provided lovely Scottish music on the bus. Well recommended tour.

Great time in Inverness with Andy S!

I had an incredible time on this 1 day tour from Inverness with Andy S (from Inverness!). I had the best time learning about Inverness from Andy who was a wealth of knowledge and very funny. It was absolutely stunning throughout the highlands, and a great way to see a lot in one day without having to rent a car and drive on some windy roads. Timberbrush had a very clear directions on where to meet, contacted me early to advise on reservations/additional tickets to book ahead of time, and left promptly. As a solo traveler it couldn't have been better, I look forward to touring around the highlands further with Andy and Timberbush in the future!

An interesting and beautiful day

Trip experience

The trip was great, our tour guide Marita was extremely friendly and told a lot about the history. The only complaint I have was that the seats were uncomfortable and the leg room was lacking, Overall we were extremely satisfied with this trip,

The Search for Nessie

It was a fun day seeing all around the Loch and learning about it. The boat tour was a treat. Our driver was kind & knowledgeable. Got us to & from safely.

A disappointing tour

Our day tour to Lochness and Uruqhart Castle was highly disappointing. Firstly be aware that not only do you have to pay for the cruise and entry to Uruqhart Castle (mentioned on the website) but you also have to pay in cash which, if you don't already have cash on you can amount to a hefty charge at the ATM. Secondly, you do not get to spend more than 10 minutes at any of the other attractions and two of them were pointed out as we drove past and many people on the coach didn't even see them. Finally, the tour is advertised as a 12 hour tour (8am - 8pm) which is a long day in itself, however without consulting the group the guide decided to add an extra stop, avoiding the motorway and adding an extra 1.5 hours to the tour, meaning we weren't back until 9.30 and many of us lost dinner reservations and couldn't find other options for food. The extra attraction couldn't even be seen as it was potch black so the driver had to use his high beams so we could see. A poorly organised and run tour by Chloe. Would not recommend

Chris is da bomb

Chris Allan was a fantastic tour guide. He was knowledgeable, funny, and made us feel comfortable and welcome. He pointed out different spots asking if we wanted to get out and take pics- which was nice. We saw some incredible sites and so enjoyed touring Urquhart Castle- what an amazing place. Ft. Augustus was such a nice town to walk around before our Loch Ness cruise. On the way home, we saw some stunning scenery and stopped at a quaint pub near the end of our tour. It was a wonderful day. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience history, Loch Ness, and view the beautiful countryside. Chris is an excellent guide- would go on a trip with him again.

Chris was an excellent guide. He was knowledgeable about the stops and was able to answer many questions. He made sure we had enough time at each location and made a few extra stops for picture taking. He also made it easy to get into the extra paid venues (castle & boat tour) by organizing that prior to our arrival. The small group was nice for meeting new people and quickly getting in and out of places. I highly recommend this tour.

Beautuful Highlands

Loch Ness is huge and beautiful. Urquhart Castle was a look into the past, and we stopped to see a wide expanse of mountains and waterfalls rills and sky towards the end of the trip, and it was really spectacular.

Urquhart castle was amazing set on a beautiful part of Loch Ness. The cruise from Fort Augustus was relaxing and informative despite not seeing the elusive Nessie. Chris, our tour guide and driver provided lots of history and funny stories along the way. A great day!

Ness Retreat apartment was perfect in every way - spotlessly clean, extremely well located, very comfortable, and well equipped. On top of that, I received a warm welcome from Alison, who was really helpful. I loved Inverness and it made a great base for excursions to Loch Ness and Skye. I highly recommend Ness Retreat!
