Amazing guide!

I had a wonderful time on my tour! My guide, Mohan, was an absolute joy the entire tour. He made sure I was comfortable while also giving me such important facts regarding the history of the city. He also offered to take pictures for me throughout our day. I definitely recommend to anyone visiting the city!

Lovely knowledgeable guide

Srinu was an amazing guide. He knew so much about the history of old Hyderabad and was so proud of the city, and his pride was infectious. He not only taught us the details of the area, but he looped back to the same idea more than once which as a teacher for 30 years I know is an effective way of learning. He took us along byways that we wouldn’t have seen on our own and often let us experience the sights and sounds of the area independently which we so appreciated. But again his vast knowledge and concise way of explaining the complex history of Hyderabad was lovely and much appreciated. Thank you!!

Great tour of the old city

Thad a lovely tour with John while visiting charminar and chowmahalla. I was the only one on the group tour this day. We met at 9am which was an ideal time, before charminar fills up with the crowds. John is full of historical knowledge and I came away learning quite a bit about the area in our 2.5 hours.

Old City Tour Hyderabad

The Old City Tour in Hyderabad was very interesting and we learnt a lot about the history of the city from our guide John. It was very informative and included visiting Charminar and the Chomahalla Palace. We rode in a tuk tuk and John gave us some great ideas of things to do for the rest of our stay in Hyderabad.

Excellent tour around the main old city sights in Hyderabad.

Very good tour to see the main sights in the old city. Our guide, Ramu was great. He met us as scheduled to show us around, and we also enjoyed trying Irani tea and biscuits in the market.

Fascinating old city walk

We had the morning free and decided to take this tour of the old city of Hyderabad. It was an amazing experience as our guide enthralled us with the stories of opulence of the Nizams. We had a guided tour of yhe royal palace and it was magnificent Our guide took us through lanes full of heritage structures. We even had the traditional chai and osmania biscuits. It was an amazing experience overall and a tour I will highly recommend to anyone looking to understand Hyderabad better.

One of my best walks anywhere in the world!

I had th3 morning free and decided to explore the old city which I believe is steeped in history. I am glad I decided to book this heritage walk instead of doing it on.my own.My guide was outstanding and was able to put a context and explain the monuments and their significance. I would never have been able to appreciate the place so much without a guide. I especially enjoyed the Palace of Choumahallah. It is clearly one of the most striking Palace anywhere in the world. This walk is a must do for any first time visitors to the city who want to understand the city better.

Wonderful and insightful walk

The old city walk was a fantastic experience. My guide was amazing and transported me to an old and charming world of a bygone era! We visited fabulous monuments and Palaces of the Nizams. I loved the stories told by out guide which brought the past alive. We had a lovely Tea in a typical hyderabadi restaurant which set the tone for the exciting walk. Highly recommended.

Below expectations

Tre guide was friendly but I wouldn't necessarily want recommend it. I had much higher expectations. The tour was 1.5h instead of the 3h advertised, I'd expect more enthusiasm and content while explaining the history of the place and the guide was often on the phone. The tour is less than 1km.

Easygoing and educational walking tour of the old city and palaces. Great if you only have 1 day.

We had a fantastic tour with our guide, Azam. He picked an easy spot to meet us, and was very patient and knowledgeable about the history of the Nizams who built the city over 4 centuries. He also helped us get back to our hotel by telling our rickshaw driver where to go. We would definitely contact this company again if and when we come back to Hyderabad.

Great introduction to old Charminar and history of Nizams

Hyderabad walk

Amazing trip with a lot of knowledge about the buildings by the guide. Would recommend this trip for everyone! But don’t wear shorts ;)

Cultural immersion!

We had an incredible tour with Raize to the Hyderabad palace and market. She took time to explain the history and local context, explained Hyderabadi culture today, and set us up with a fantastic lunch. I would highly recommend 5 senses tours and Raize in particular was an excellent guide.

Old City Walk

Fantastic tour with Raize. Saw key sites; mosque, bazaar, and Charminar. Beautiful bakery as part to tour with fresh biscuits eaten hot straight off the tray. Restaurant recommendation for lunch after was superb.

Excellent guide colourful city

Lovely introduction to first visit to India and hyderabab. Kumar showed us all the back streets full of history, tuk tuks, motorbikes and happy people. Walked through the bazaar and had a lovely tea and biscuit break. We went late in afternoonso charminar was beautifully lit in the evening. Kumar knowledge of beautiful palace and one of India biggest mosques excellent. He even chose me a dress at £1.60 to cover my shoulders!

Great walking tour

Great walking tour to see the Old City in Hyderabad. Guide John was very knowledgeable and also helped me to arrange an auto rickshaw after the tour. The only thing you should be aware of is that the shops in the Bazaar around Charminar open only in the afternoon so you don't get that vibe as the tour is in the morning, however it is less crowded and less hectic.

Close down. Your people have the personally of a wet paper bag. If you can manage to speak with someone (which is highly unlikely) they won't help. They give you the run around

Fun and informative tour.

We liked walking around the city and enjoying the hustle and bustle of Hyderabad. Plus receiving lots of historical background about the city from our tour guide Mr. Kumar, which helped to make our tour very informative and fun.

Wonderful walking tour of Hyderabad's Old City

We had a wonderful time on the walking tour of Hyderabad's Old City with our guide Srinu. It was a well-paced tour with good snippets of the city's history, culture and heritage. Srinu was also very helpful with tips on other places of historical and cultural interest in the city. Definitely recommend this tour!

Good tour

This is a good value tour. When compared to the prices of other tours - it feels like your get more from this, and have a bit more time to soak up the atmosphere. The tour guide 'John' was excellent, both knowledgeable and engaging and really looked after us. The sights are impressive and whilst you could do this on your own in theory, the crowds and traffic can be a bit intimidating for the novice so it is good to have someone to show you around. It might be cheaper to book direct though.

Hyderabad Wow!

We enjoyed a lot visiting Hyderabad. Specially Ramoji, Hussain Sagar Lake. Must try Osmania Biscuits from Nimrah Bakery.

Hyderabad of minarets, pearls and candy floss

Many thanks to John who is an amazing guide and led our small group despite our uncertainties about the starting point. Hyderabad has got a rich history, buildings of architectural relevance and a diverse population so having a local guide was helpful and insightful. The caffe at the Charminar square will stay in my memories for long! See you again Hyderabad, you are a mesmerising city!

Excellent experience

Great historical walk! Srinu is very professional and knowledgeable. I have learned a lot about the history of the town and have seen the most important landmarks. Will definitely book other trips.

Hyderabad history tour

An excellent walk around Hyderabad centre to places i would never have found.... markets, bazaars, and the history of everything you see aswell I'll be back !!

History of Hyderabad

The knowledge of the guide, Srinu, and his explanation of the history. I would really recommend Srinu, a PhD in Indian history - and his explanations were fantastic. The only negative, if you want to call it that, is we could not see the palace due to the death of the Nazim last night.

Ask for Azam! Great guide

Azam is a great guide. He was on time, speaks English and Hindi as we needed, and spent extra time with us taking us around. Also money was much cheaper than other tours. Will def recommend him !!!

Listen and Learn from a Local

At times during our walk in the Old Town of Hyderabad, I felt like an honoured guest. I was witnessing history with a running commentary on the City past, present and future.

Magical experience

Our guide led us through the ruins of a kingly mansion. Boys were playing cricket and he arranged to let me hit with the bat. This was an immersive experience where you see past and present blended together. Our guide helped us to find an ATM and helped us purchase momentoes from vendors. He answered all of our questions about culture, religion and history in a way that wove them all together

An excellent and educational tour

An excellent tour, my guide Raize was friendly and extremely knowledgable about the history of the city. Apart from the sites themselves, thoroughly enjoyed wandering the streets between and a stop for fresh cookies and chai.

In his 20+ years in the business, John has amassed a WEALTH of knowledge of Hyderabad and the surrounding areas. This, he will dispense while you take a stroll down the old city. Pick up was stress free. When we arrived at Charminar, a cup of tea hit the spot. It was charming (pun intended) to walk around the old city, the 4 arches, and the center of the old Hyderabad. The tour culminated with a walk around the grand Chowmahalla Palace before an efficient drop off back at the hotel. Highly recommend!

Enchanting walk in Hyderabad

I had a great experience doing the old city walk. It was very well organized and my guide from 5 Senses Tours did an out standing job. He was very energetic, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. He told us about the life and times o Nizams as we visited the magnificent Choumahalla Palace. The pearls and bangle bazaar was enchanting. The walk included Charminar the most famous monument of Hyderabad. Our guide told us fascinating stories about how this monument came to be. What i liked most about this walk was that the conversation was very engaging and we were literally transported into the medieval past of Hyderabad. I would highly recommend this walk to anyone wishing to know a little more about Hyderabad.

Great local tour of Hyderabad

A wonderful tour. The tour guide John paid attention to even the minute details to ensure a wonderful experience.

The walk from the charminar is delightful as one sees old buildings or facades right in the midst of bustling shops.

Visiting the charminar structure, one level up was great. The information gathered from the guide was interesting.

Spectacular day in old city of Hyderabad

I joined the old city walk as I had a free morning in Hyderabad. Five senses tours made my day. The old city walk was one of the best walking tours i have ever done. The guide was awesome. He was both friendly and knowledgeable. Although I had visited Hyderabad before I had never done a tour here before. This tour is the best way to get a grasp on the heritage of this magnificent city. I saw spectacular medieval monuments, ate local food in a eatery famous with locals, listened to the story of Nizams who were the richest people in the world during the 19th century. Five senses had made this day a spectacular one. Very highly recommended.

Great experience exploring downtown Hyderabad

John is a great guide with knowledge of local places and people. He has showed us the best of historical center in Hyderabad and introduced us to local business and cafes.

The history of Hyderabad brushed past me today and I can recognise her when I will see her again. 😊

If you wanna know the historic significance of things, get close to Hyderabad's history, this tour is for you. It's not the places you visit but the guide's way to explain things, so easy and rich. It feels you have been to that era itself. It's a bit of long walk but worth it. You can buy souvenirs from chowmahalla fort. Great experience!

Great Hyderabad old city tour

During our half-day tour, we visited Badshahi Ashurkana, Charminar, and Chowmahalla Palace, with a quick chai stop in Charminar. Our tour guide John did a great job of sharing the history of Hyderabad and the specific places we visited. He answered all our questions patiently. We came away from the tour with a more holistic understanding of Hyderabad and its connections with greater Indian history. Definitely recommended!

Old Hyderabad City Tour.

We had done the Old City Hyderabad tour with the travel company 5 senses, Mr. John- the tour guide and our driver- Abu bhaiya,this month. We had covered Charminar, chaomala palace, Hussain Sagar Lake, Salarjung museum. I feel the museum and the Chaomala palace is definetly worth visiting. We, thankyou Mr. John- the tour guide for his extensive history knowledge and the way he had explained us and also 5 senses for making our Hyderabad tour a wonderful and comfortable one. Also, covid wise, Hyderabad was pretty safe.

Great tour with Karunanidhi!

Wonderful tour of Old town Hyderabad. Karunanidhi shared great stories and made the old sites come alive. Definitely recommend to get a sense of the older part of the city.
