Wonderful experience for my family. The driver was fantastic and everyone was helpful with accessibility requirements. It was especially nice going on the dirt paths and seeing the wildlife on the way. The wineries were delightful. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a more special experience

Really fabulous experience.

Hayden is a knowledgeable, entertaining and accommodating young man. My 93yo mum and I had a wonderful afternoon with him and his horses 🐎 Jack and Rocky. Hayden gave us some thrills on the road with a few quick, fun trots and a real, old time experience on the slow, dirt back tracks. Hayden asked us about our wine preferences and catered to our tastes. Cheese tasting to finish. Fabulous afternoon, best one for us in HV. Thank you Hayden, great afternoon.

Fun with horses and wine!

This is not a fancy carriage trip, it's no-frills, heavy horses and cart with a Western vibe and it's great fun! Our driver was very friendly and great company (we were the only two to have booked that morning, which we considered a real bonus). A relaxing, enjoyable way to experience what the Hunter Valley has to offer.

Fun filled wine tasting tour! The horses were adorable and very well behaved, our guides very friendly and informative , and the scenery was soooo beautiful! All in all a brilliant day from start to finish! Would definitely recommend this wine tasting tour with a difference. I guarantee, you won't be disappointed!

Perfect Day!

It was our 14th wedding anniversary experience. Hayden was amazing! The wineries and produce stores were exceptional. Such a casual, fab experience.

Seeing the Hunter valley in a brand new amazing light

Rob was an amazing your guide. We had the absolute best time!! It's so refreshing seeing the Hunter valley in a relaxed slower pace. The horses were absolutely gorgeous and being in the carriage looking over the scenery as it slowly passed us by really makes you reflect on times past and the grandeur of everything around us. We even made some friends along the way. Will definitely be coming back xx A+

Fabulous Horse-Drawn Carriage Winery & Harvest Tour in the Hunter Valley

The weather was not great but it certainly did not detract from the experience! We travelled in a carriage pulled by two handsome horses, Rocky & Jack, to two lovely wineries, where we tasted some exceptional wines, and then to Pokolbin Village to taste cheese & chocolate - a most enjoyable time, indeed.

Best way to get around Pokolbin!

Lovely horses and scenery! Hayden our host was fun and charming and made the whole experience a little extra fun. His knowledge of the region and wines was also outstanding. We highly recommend the organic Tamburlaine wines, and Ashley at Lisa McGuigan wines will certainly look after you and your group! And of course the chocolate shop and cheese shops are a must! Best way to get around Pokolbin!

Horse carriage vinery tour

Wonderful 3 hours with Rocky and Jack taking us to two wineries (Tamburlaine and Vamp, Lisa McGuighan) and chocolate & cheese afterwards. Saw kangaroos through the vineyards and the Tamburlaine wines were especially good!

Better than buses

Cath & I had a fantastic time! Macca (driver), Max & Blossom (horses) really looked after us. We hit a few really nice wineries & finished up having chocolate & cheese tasting. The ride home was great with Macca taking us home via some shortcut tracks where cars can’t go. This was awesome as I’d had enough of buses and looking at the back of peoples heads. Fantastic 3hrs

Horse and carriage wine tour.

We had the best day on our full day wine tour. Macca was the best host. There had been a mix up with our booking and Sarah went over and above to sort it out. The wineries we went to were great and the horse and carriage experience was a beautiful memory. Would definitely recommend this company and book with them again.

Lovely wine tour

We had a very nice and interesting Horse Tour. The two horses were very calm and have pulled us safely through both, busy roads and nice back ways. The driver was very knowledgeable and explained a lot about wine making. I can recommend the tour.

A lovely way to relax with friends

Our wine and horse tour in Pokolbin was incredible! It was at the end of a 2 week road trip for myself and 3 friends, and it was a really lovely way to spend a sunny afternoon, relaxing together. Our tour guide was great - super knowledgeable about wine and his horses - you could see how well looked after they were, and how much he loved them! Staff at the wineries were lovely and tolerated us in all our drunk-girl glory. The chocolate and cheese tastings at the end really topped off our experience. Highly recommended.

Good wine tasting experince

• Informative wine education by Tamburlain winery. • We like the cheese & chocolate tasting • would had assigned 5-stars if not because tour lead called me twice even though it was not yet the indicated meet up time of 1:30pm. Started getting call that the group are already waiting for me around 1:15pm!

One of the best things you can do in the Hunter Vallry!!

This was the first thing we did when arriving in the Hunter and it was honestly one of the best! We ended up with a carriage all to ourselves by chance despite it being a Saturday Morning! So lucky! Our driver Rod was the nicest man - so great to chat to and learn about the local spots from! We got to go too 2 wineries a cheese shop and a chocolate shop (tasting all included in the cost) as well as take a leisurely ride through the bush and through vineyards. We also got to ride on the road with cars which was unexpected but very very cool! The horse were so lovely and I cannot over state how much fun we had! It is worth the cost and I would do it again 100% when we come back and recommened it to all!

I truly enjoyed the horse and carriage ride the sound on the road was amazing, then riding off road topped it. the driver also kept us entertained, amused us with some jokes. can't wait to do it again. Annie

Supper service, a very friendly and welcoming. The 3- Hour Wine and Harvest the Hunter Horse Tour in Pokolbin was a fantastic experience, thanks to the carriage Coachman. He was not only a skilled driver, but also a great storyteller and guide. He shared with us interesting facts and anecdotes about the Hunter Valley, the horses, and the wineries we visited. He was also very attentive and courteous, making sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. The carriage itself was elegant and cozy. The horses were beautiful and well-behaved, and the Coachman handled them with care and respect. The tour was a perfect balance of relaxation, education, and fun. I highly recommend the carriage Coachman and his horse-drawn tour to anyone who wants to explore the Hunter Valley in style

A taste of Yesteryear

Loved the clip clop of those lovely horses. They were so well trained. The tastes were very generous and the hosts very knowledgeable.

Great way to do a wine tour/tasting

We had a wonderful time on our horse and cart and our driver, was great answering questions and giving us useful info on area. We thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting part of the trip, we enjoyed the cheese too. The chocolate tasting was nice but could have been more interesting chocolates as a lot of it was sweets. But we would highly recommend this tour

Excellent and unique experience

My wife and I had the joy of experiencing the 3 hour winery tour by ourselves. Our tour guide, Aidan, was very knowledgeable and entertaining making the whole experience one we would highly recommend to anyone.

Our horse and cart driver...

Our horse and cart driver was very good. A truly relaxing experience. Unfortunately the second winery let us taste so many wines we didn't have time for the second winery. The cheese and chocolate tasting was disappointing. Only two cheeses and a bit of chocolate. But the overall experience was great.

Hunter Valley Get-away

Nice escape from the city's chaos! Get to try different wines from various wineries! Our guide, Liam (if I recall correctly), was incredibly welcoming and warm, adding a friendly touch to the experience. The break from urban hustle made this getaway truly enjoyable.

Hunter Valley Horses Carriage tour is such a fun way to do a wine tour. Beautiful horses, awesome tour guide. Definitely a must do.

Great morning at Pokolbin

We arrived at the meet area and our carriage was already waiting and ready to go. We were greeted by a handsome local called Liam and he introduced us to Banjo and Max (horses). We went to Pokolbin Estate, Tamburlaine and McGuigan. All 3 wine tasting has their unique set of experience but we really enjoyed our time at Pokolbin Estate. The wines there are slightly different than what you would find at other estates and they don't overwhelm you with choices. All their wines are good and reasonably priced. Liam gave us a bit of history of the estates and throughout the tour, he was very pleasant and ready to 'customise' the tour to our likings. The ride itself can be a bit rocky but apart from that, we had a wonderful time. Highly recommended activity while you're in the Hunter Valley.

A wonderful horse and carriage tour in the Hunter.

What a great experience! Liam was very welcoming and knowledgeable and made the tour so much more enjoyable. Plus I got to drive for a little bit (lucky Max and Banjo knew the way). The tastings were personalised. I can recommend doing the 3 hour tour and I will book in again when I’m next in the Hunter. Thank you Liam and all the best for the upcoming birth of your bub.

A different kind of holiday experience - very engaging and interesting to learn about wines !

We started the tour at 10 am visiting 3 vineyards namely Pokolbin vineyard and then followed by Tambourlaine and finally the Mc Guigan vineyard. We did wine tasting at all three and also did a tour on the cheese factory at Mc Guigan. It’s a different tour to experience. Awesome for those who loved wines . Thank you to Liam our carriage guide. Very patient young man . He definitely made our day ! Thanks once again. Look for Liam if you do like this experience when visiting Hunter Valley .

Absolutely loved our private winery tour, very pleasant & surprisingly comfortable in the carriage. Hayden was a great host who knew his horses & his stuff, the wineries, cheese & chocolate shops were a hit.

Amazing experience

We had the most amazing time on our tour. Hayden was absolutely lovely and made the experience very enjoyable. He was very knowledgeable about the Hunter Region and the different types of products on offer, including wine, cheese, chocolate and other spirits. The horse and cart allowed us to see the vineyards up close, which was a different experience. We would definitely recommend this tour and would do it again!

We did our wine tasting tour with these guys and absolutely loved it. Could not ask for a better experience. Our guide was Liam and he was fantastic. We had a fantastic day. Liam was very friendly from the start of the tour and looked after us at every winery. He made sure we were looked after extremely well and even stopped when we requested so we could take a photo. Both the horses were extremely calm and gentle (we own our own horses so we know what horses can be like) would definitely recommend

Great Tour

Great morning with Liam (driver) and the horses, ‘big’ Max & Banjo. They are just a couple of chilled out dudes. Absolutely recommend from the horse and dray aspect. Re the Cellar Doors found disappointing. The tastings mostly consisted of wines from everywhere except the Hunter Valley, however, they are separate businesses. But the idea of travelling around in horse and dray is exceptional and without doubt worth the money. Summary, just do it.
