There are some locales, sights the beauty is this star, others, the story. Hiroshima is certainly a tour to learn and understand. Hugh was a walking history professor with a breadth of knowledge about Japanese history as well as Hiroshima that delivered with patience, taught us as much as we could absorb. If you want much more than a point and click tour, I highly recommend him.

A moving experience

The Memorial Garden and the Museum were very impactful. Hugh McCann was a very knowledgeable guide. He gave us a lot of information and we would recommend him highly.

Great day in Miyajima & Hiroshima

We haa a great time in Hiroshima and Miyajima. Hugh was super friendly and gave us all the information about the area. Lunch break at a local restaurant was fantastic as well. We would recommend this tour to everyone

Perfect day with Hugh

Hugh was an excellent guide who gave us the perfect day in Hiroshima. Our group of six agreed we could not have done better. Hugh is an Australian who has lived many years in Hiroshima. His knowledge of history and his ability to communicate made for a perfect day!

A great day visiting Hiroshima

Hugh was a fantastic guide for the day in Hiroshima! The logistics were great... He met us at the train platform and had an itinerary built for us. Having the car with him, it made for a very comfortable day for us. His knowledge of Hiroshima, and Japan more broadly, was exceptional. It made the experience all the more rewarding. His choice for lunch was also top notch as he made sure to cater to our dietary needs. Would highly recommend him to other travelers!

Very thorough tour with Hugh

Excellent and thorough tour of Hiroshima and Miyajima Island. Hugh was very knowledgeable. If we returned, we would definitely spend a whole day on Miyajima Island to explore further. We really appreciated Hugh's insights, particularly the recommendation for lunch (okonomiyaki, Hiroshima-style) and beautiful coffee and ice-cream on the island.

Hugh provided a fantastic tour with many insights into the Hiroshima and Yamaguchi prefectural history. His soba recommendation in Iwakuni was superb and the door-to-door service to and from the hotel was a luxury, essential service. We appreciated his flexibility and translation abilities as well as the effort put into his certifications - resulting in an especially memorable tour.

great guided private tour

Hugh was a great guide . He collected us from the platform at Hiroshima station. He then took us to the peace park and Miyama. It was a private tour including time for a quick lunch of authentic Hiroshima cuisine. I would highly recommend Hugh and this tour

Wonderful day exploring

Hugh was a truly insightful, friendly and fun guide. We got so many experiences into one day but nothing felt rushed. Hugh showed us some true gems in Hiroshima and mayajima. The day was a mix of famous sites and places off the beaten path that we would have struggled to find and will now never forget. Highly recommended, especially if you have children or just want to avoid the crowds but still see all that Hiroshima and it's surrounds has to offer.

A good days touring

Hugh is a very knowledgeable gentleman who had some great stories. Miyajima was great but instead of going to the bridge we went to some beautiful gardens and an art gallery. A good day.
